Prosciutto and arugula pizza: 4/5, overall a solid pizza with good flavor. They even let us add red sauce, which was nice. Petit Verdot (Chilled), Pago del Vicario: 5/5, this hit the spot! This is a true Neapolitan-style pizzeria, complete with a wood-burning oven that smells incredible when you walk by in the evenings or on weekends. I especially love the beet salad and the seasonal fig, honey, balsamic, and feta pizza, which hits that perfect sweet-savory balance. The service has occasionally been a little clunky, though always friendly, and the bar has been a pleasant surprise. They make an extremely dry, icy-cold martini, which is exactly how I like it. Roscoe's remains a solid neighborhood spot for wood-fired pizza, a good drink, and a relaxed meal.

The day we visited, they had a margherita pizza and a veggie (mozzarella, Italian dandelions, sun-dried tomatoes, whipped goat chevre & hot honey). I'm still not sure what an Italian dandelion is, but it tasted great. But my favorite was the soft-serve, Honey Cardamon Lemon with Pistachios. Inventive and yummy! FYI, you can order the soft-serve when you order your pizza, but pick it up at the end of your meal so it doesn't melt. The food tastes great, but most of all, it's local and family-owned. Definitely in my standard rotation of pizza places. You should definitely get out to Takoma Park and try Red Hound!

Took about 30 minutes for our two pizzas to come out and we enjoyed being outside in the back where they have a few simple picnic tables set up. The crust is thin but doesn't soak through, and the fresh mozzarella is a great addition to everything. These are definitely the type of pizzas that will need a bit of rehab if you get them delivered, but that's just because they're more delicate than standard pizzas. A short stint in the oven works well. The store is small and cute, and looks like a good place for dinner with the family. We always grab to go, so haven't dined in but there's always a mix of small groups and families on the small patio and inside.

The pizza wasn't sliced through all the way. It was a meh pizza that suited the purpose of "we need something for dinner", but I wouldn't order it again. Ambience You'd think you were making a high-stakes financial transaction of gold bars or something. There's a lot of plexiglass and cameras. It feels shady. Service We had two slices leftover and inquired about slice boxes or a smaller box since it seemed silly to carry a giant box. The woman at point of sale was really rude when I asked and told me each box costed $2. I turned to walk out and it sounded like she said something under her breath.

We had Christmas Eve dinner there this year, and it was every bit as memorable as we'd hoped. The portions are generous enough to share or take half home for lunch the next day. I especially recommend the Chicken Marsala, Chicken Piccata, and the classic mussels, all prepared beautifully. Don't overlook their neighboring pizzeria either--it's our go-to for both takeout and casual dining. Trattoria Da Lina is the kind of neighborhood restaurant every community wishes it had.

It's on the same block as a really nice Thai place and a nice Mediterranean spot as well. There weren't many people on a weekday night so we just walked in. Street parking is free after 7 PM. The star was the margharita pizza. And we also got a calzone, which was also really good. The texture of the crust and the little slight crunch and the sauce was really great. I wish there was more basil on the margarita pizza. There were three pieces of basil on the entire pie the pasta we got was the seafood pasta and it was a bit salty and portions are a bit small, but maybe that's the norm now? And we also got this other mushroom ravioli thing that is also pretty good but just really small. I think it was like five or six pieces of ravioli for $24. Service was fine. It was standard. The restaurant was a little bit hot during the heat wave. I wish it was a little cooler so with the four dishes altogether it was over $80 before tip for two people and we just had a little bit left over which is why I thought the value was more 3.5 than a four. That said, I'd still come back and get the margarita pizza and calzone - they're really quite good.
