Edith's is normally a reliable, local spot for pizza but I don't know what happened today. The kitchen was in chaos the moment I walked in - double and triple checking orders. My order was to be ready at 11:30, I waited 10 minutes, asked again about the pizza and was told that one of the two pizzas was stuck in the oven so they would have to remake it. They did offer me the stuck one as well but I didn't need 3 pizzas. I figured it would only take 15-20 mins to bake so waited. Forty minutes later, I left with my 2 pizzas (the first one was cold as it had been sitting on the counter for 30 minutes - I brought this to attention of the young woman working at the cash register and she just looked at me like I had two heads). No one went out of their way to apologize for the wait which I would expect for a $50, average pizza experience. Do better. read more

The pizzas are a good value for Bethesda and they are ready super fast. The crust is very good, which is something you'd expect for a place that also owns a bakery. We tried the margarita pizza, which had a balsamic drizzle. Totally unusual and very good. read more

Heard this eatery is owned by the owners of Breads unlimited. Ordered their garden pizza. It had a great crisp and chewy crust, topped by a tangy tomato sauce. I had a custom request (no cheese). The plentiful toppings made up for it and the cheese was not missed. It had mushrooms peppers, onions, arugula and olives. Lastly it had generous portion of artichoke hearts (not seen in most standard vegetable pizzas). Service was friendly, will be back. read more

Stopped in on a whim since I was in the area. While I was hoping for a slice, it was 5 and there were no more slices for the day. Another customer told me the cheesesteaks were something special so I ordered. The cheesesteak was great. The bread was soft and fresh. While I do wish there was a little less bread and more cheesesteak, I might describe that as a first world problem. The staff was pleasant, but seemed way too busy to chit chat. I got the barbecued pork sandwich. Very large, excellent taste and texture. Enough for 2 meals. Comes with fries or you can get no fries for $2 less. They also have chips, also enough for 2 meals, if you prefer something crunchy over the fries. However, especially for hot sandwiches, they use the FLIMSIEST paper plates. They really need to use plastic coated plates or stronger plates--the ones they use do not stand up to the food, at least the barbecue sandwich. It makes a mess. Wish there were single slice toppings to choose from for the pizza. Otherwise good food and breakfast all day. This is a breakfast and lunch place--they close at 7 so you should arrive no later than 6:30 of taking to go or 6 if eating in. You should be finished with everything--ordering, picking up, eating--by 6:50 ideally so they don't have to stay open late on your account. read more

I stopped in for the first time last week and had a lunch special Slice & Drink. It was just a slice of pepperoni pizza... but... it was fabulous! That crust. Was perfect. It was fresh, homemade, that delicate crisp edge, but fluffy and chewy! That wonderful chewy texture that great European breads have (but it was definitely pizza crust! I get irritated when pizzas have a crust that is not really a pizza crust). It was fresh, hot, cheesy, tasty, with moderately generous topping. The sauce was tasty, and the crust fluffy and chewy. Which made the whole bite truly wonderful. The staff was nice, the place clean. They have good packets of peppers and parm. There are tvs mounted and playing, but quietly. On Thursday afternoon, I felt like ordering pizza for my wife and I for dinner. I was looking at menus on UberEats and saw this place that they had stuffed pizza similar to Chicago. I ended up ordering on GrubHub due to delivery time and got a personal sized Chef's Special Steak & Cheese, an Old Bay Pie (with chicken), and a Stuffed Pizza with artichokes, mushrooms, and pineapple. All of the pizzas were amazing and our favorite was the Stuffed Pizza that was close to Chicago style and reminds us most of the personal sized Chicago pies we had at Japes in London for our honeymoon. Our next favorite was the Old Bay Pie which was wonderful and nothing like we had before. The Chef's Special Steak $ Cheese we had was wonderful too and similar but much better than the ones we had at larger chains like Papa John's. The prices are all very reasonable particularly for Bethesda/Chevy Chase and we look forward to both ordering from here again and eating here in person in the future. read more

Packaging fit well and the taste was standard pizza fare. Crust was better than standard delivery places. The calzone was great, bread/crust was thick and cooked throughout. I have only had breakfast here. Amazing value. The omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, and breakfast burritos are huge and so tasty. Completely recommend this locally-run business, show them some love! Their bakery in the same shopping center is Breads Unlimited and that's great as well. They make a poppy seed strudel that I absolutely love, and they do very good sandwich loaves. I'm here because, unfortunately due to my personal reasons, I had to move and leave behind what was manageable to my shift changes like my goal of completing school. We were welcomed into the restaurant about 30 minutes before closing. Our food was ready about 20 minutes before closing. Sometime between then and 10 minutes to closing they took all the nozzles off the drink machines so when I went to refill my tea, it squirted sideways onto my shirt. If you tried Edith's when it first opened, and were disappointed, you should give it another try. The selection has greatly expanded and most importantly the product has improved. We had a personal pizza and a veggie calzone. Both were delicious. The pizza crust, which had been quite dry when we first went, is not much better. The calzone is "open faced" rather than a stuffed ball of crust. It was very moist and chewy. We are glad to now have a go to local "pizza shop" rather than one of the mediocre chains. read more

Yesterday, we visited Edith's pizza for the first time and it definitely will not be the last time we pay them a visit. We had two pizzas (The works, ham and bacon and avocado pizza) and they were delicious. The avocado one is to die for... My kids are very picky with pizza and they loved them!!!
