Tandoori Chicken Pizza (Halal)
Cynthia L.

M&N is a Bethesda Staple and once you've been you'll keep coming for. For real life. We've tried carry out before with friends here, but we ordered this for an impromptu date night, carry out (because there's no dining there) and it was Fantastic! We tried their Tandoori Chicken, Palak Paneer, and Hawaiian Pizza with a side of Masala Fries. Hubs is a classic pizza kinda guy and even he enjoyed the tandoori chicken. Pizzas weren't overly "wet" with topping and sauce and the "toppings" were perfectly made? (Is that even a description for the heavenly sauce that they make?) It was well-sauced and seasoned! I watched the gentleman running the front hold doors open, politely greet, and thank Every customer, even DoorDash and Uber drivers. That alone should be why you visit! When I left, I just asked for a couple napkins since I didn't see any and he sent me off with a generous handful of napkins And plates! Thank you M&N! We will definitely be back!!

The food was done very quick! The mozzarella sticks are small and good! The pizza is done very well. It has a perfect taste and the crust was perfect. The service was soooo nice I loved the man working there :) I'd come again

14" Zereshk Pizza (Halal)

I've been wanting to try their pizza for sometime now and I am so happy I finally did! I decided to go an unfamiliar flavor and I ordered the Zereshk pizza which is topped with chicken cooked in Persian spices and Barberries (Zereshk). I was mind blown with the flavors! I loved the barberries especially because it gave it a slightly sweet and tart kick but it was not overpowering. The cheese was a perfect amount. Now price wise it is a bit more than the standard pizza $28. For one person it was great because I had leftovers for 3 days lol but if more people will be indulging that pizza will be gone the same day! Trust. But it's so worth the money. No indoor seating so you basically order the pizza to go but it's located in downtown Bethesda, so on a nice day you can find an area outside to sit and enjoy! I will definitely be ordering from here again!

I've been going to M&N's Pizza for years, and it still holds up as one of the most unique places in Bethesda. A real fusion pizza joint, my favorites are two of their "whacky" pizzas: the Burrito Pizza (black beans, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, extra cheese, with a special sauce and topped with cilantro and a drizzle of special dressing) and the Thai Chili Tofu (tofu, basil, green peppers, red chili, flakes, extra cheese with a base of Thai sauce). There are other subs and salads and burritos and extras, but the pizza is where it's at. Give M&N's a try - you won't be sorry!

Spicy Masala Fries

We ordered takeout. The owner was very nice. Food was fresh and very tasty. The fries were still crunchy after we got it home. (It was pretty spicy though, so beware). Very flavorful fries Pizza was awesome. We tried the crazy paneer pizza. The quality of panner was good and the pizza was very tasty. My partner liked the daal makhni as well. For dessert we had ras malai. It was too sweet for me. The rose water in it was a bit overpowering. Will definitely come again

This is a must get every time I go into Bethesda. This is strictly a carry out spot. But Manoushe is great company! He is very friendly and will make great recommendations based on your preferences. The spicy chicken pizza was actually pretty spicy. It's my favorite! The masala spicy fries were also really spicy. They're delicious! Do not skip these.

Don't judge this place by its exterior or interior design--the pizza here speaks for itself! It's truly amazing, bursting with flavor. It's no surprise that M & N's Pizza made last year's top 25 local list and this year's top 100 U.S. list. Congratulations to them! This pizza spot is small, with no seating available, so be prepared for takeout. Depending on how busy they are, it can take anywhere from 15 to 75 minutes to get your pizza. I highly recommend calling ahead to place your order, especially since parking is limited. You'll want to grab your pizza and go. The service is very attentive, and the owner was extremely friendly and nice. I highly recommend

Spicy Thai Tofu Pizza (Veg)

Bruh ..... This is one of the best pizzas I've had in my life . Spicy Vegan Thai pizza ( 10 inch) Let me start off by saying that the Customer service was phenomenal. The guy at the register was helpful and patient as this was my first experience at this establishment . He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about helping me make choices . They have a fair amount of options for Vegans with vegan cheese( Daiya) .I went with the Spicy Thai and I was not disappointed. 15/10 * Bursting with savory , sweet and spicy flavors . The Tofu was the best I've ever tasted on any food item . Perfectly cooked crust . The Daiya cheese taste better than expected . Side note : This is a grab and go spot , no seating in the restaurant . The place is clean inside though which is a plus. .

It is on the smaller side, and one group was turned away for not having a reservation. I got a dumpling appetizer which delivered a mouthwatering array of vegetables, and a reasonably interesting fruity drink. The thing I came for, however, was a chole bhature. This fried bread and chickpea combination came with all the right accompaniments, and the chickpeas were richly flavored. It was a fantastic meal down to the last bite. It would not have been as good to go, and I recommend eating in. Service was a bit slow and they could have used another person working, but it was a clean and pleasant place to eat.

This was very good for a completely unplanned quick lunch (45min).The curry sauce was so good you could neglect the fig and paneer (which were good) and just eat the sauce with the rice. There are about a dozen dishes, 1/2 vegetarian and 1/2 meat with fresh plain naan. I came 1/2 way through the buffet at 1pm (buffet is from 11:30am - 2:30pm) and the dishes were all warm and tasted fresh. There's amble seating with tables and booths, and 1/2 dozen patio seating as well. The Palak Paneer was creamy soft tender cubed of paneer while the Malai Kofta was a sweet gravy. The Lentil Dhal Makhani was flavorful and savory. The crispy vegetable Pakora fritters were tasty and glad that they were freshly refilled when there a few left in the tray. The Basmati Rice was flavrful and paired well with the curry dishes. The crispy Cauliflower Manchurin was the only dish that was a bit brittle and soggy from sitting out and lost its fresh, crunchy soft texture. It was a slight bummer that Samosa wasn't offered in the buffet. The naan was made to order and pillowy soft. Note that Garlic Naan is not included and paid an extra $4.50 for it (I was expecting a small upcharge, not to pay full price, not a big deal). The service was great and I chatted a bit with the manager. The food tastes exactly like Haandi in VA and used to be named Haandi as well. You can get carry-out buffet - 2 pounds worth and will be back for it!

Unfortunately, the last few visits haven't been great, and tonight was the worst it's ever been. I ordered the matar paneer and it was watery and almost completely flavorless, which is very unlike what I've had there before. The rice was even more disappointing -- it tasted old and was hardened into clumps, almost molded into the shape of the container instead of being individual grains. It was difficult to even break apart. The samosas were good, which was the one bright spot, but the garlic naan barely had any garlic on it. Normally their naan is amazing and very flavorful. I'm really disappointed because this used to be my go-to spot for Indian food. I'm hoping this was just a bad night, but after a few recent experiences that were also lacking in freshness and flavor, I may have to start looking for a new place.

The flavors are authentic, balanced, and clearly made with care. The long-grain Basmati rice is a standout--aged, light, fluffy, and wonderfully aromatic. The tandoor-cooked naan is equally impressive: light, fresh, and perfectly prepared, with just the right texture and flavor. Overall, Biryani City is a reliable choice for delicious Indian food. The consistent quality and attention to preparation make it a place I'm happy to return to and recommend to others.

I'm so sick of paying $25+ for a curry. This place is just a little cheaper ($13-$18 lol), but that difference adds up and makes me way more willing to order here regularly. The boneless chicken biryani puts me into the best food coma every time. It's SO flavorful, especially with all the little sauces on the side (Idk what they are called but I think one is the yogurt raita so yum). The saag paneer and butter chicken have never done me dirty either, and I'm so glad the chicken is actually tender and NOT dry. I order these three dishes as my holy trifecta all the time with a side of their garlic naan, which is some of the best I've had. I also love that they let you choose between Indian and American spice levels. Definitely appreciate having the option depending on my mood. If you plan to eat in, expect informal booth seating and Bollywood music videos playing on three different screens. Such a vibe, I highkey mess with it. My only con is that even if you dine in, they still serve everything in plastic takeout containers. That might actually be a plus for some people, but I've been trying to cut back on single-use plastic. Still... I can absolutely overlook it because the food is that good. I've highkey recommended this place to so many people and have put a bunch of friends onto it. I'll definitely keep coming back. :)

When we were seated, the host lit a table candle. We immediately received water and a plate for sharing of crisp papadums with what I think was a mango chutney. The crackers were crisp and flavorful and the chutney was delicious. A great start. We ordered two appetizers to try them: Mulligatawny soup ($8.99) - a very nice portion came in a bowl accompanied with two cups/spoons. We each had at least two small cups of soup from the one portion. Excellent soup. Samosa Chaat - ($10.99) - another very nice sized portion for sharing. And also excellent. A bit spicy and very flavorful. Entrees: Lamb Shank - beautifully prepared. Accompanied by rice. We both were surprised it didn't come with some vegetables on the sauce (like a few carrots), but the lamb itself is very flavorful. Yellow Daal - it's good. I likely wouldn't get it again as it was fine, but not great. Nothing wrong with it, but everything else was so flavorful and distinctive that this just seemed "fine". Chilly Garlic Naan - should have gotten an order of regular naan or garlic naan. This was so spicy that it was unpleasant to eat. My partner and I both like spicy food, but the spiciness interfered with our enjoyment of our entrees. Again, it's not the fault of the item - it's more of a warning that the spiciness is overpowering. I assume other people like this, but I prefer something that complements as opposed to overpowers (to me). Service was excellent throughout the meal. Full from the appetizers, we took most of the entrees home. Probably will discard the naan, unfortunately. Again, maybe you'll like it. I'm really glad we came here and will be back again.
