Hey friends! I grew up in Rockville so Giuseppe's was always a staple! So I had to stop by for lunch. They offer fast casual options, pizza, subs, wings etc. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza and curly fries. The portion of fries was very generous! Unfortunately, the fries tasted like they were cooked in old grease. The texture was perfect though, very crispy. The pizza was a no for me. Not sure what happened as I used to love their pizza. It was greasy, undercooked and the cheese had a weird taste. Service was very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior is large! Many tables available for dine-in. It hasn't changed a bit. Very 90s and nostalgic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Price point is affordable. I spent about $11 for a slice of pizza and fries, which is super affordable to me. Parking is paid and limited. This is the perfect spot for a date night as it's right next door to the movie theater. I'll be back again to give them another chance! Can't give up easily on childhood staples LOL. + They offer a weekday lunch special: 2 slices of pizza and a soft drink for $7.99! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Half of a doughy flavorless steak & cheese sub
Yolanda W.

I went today and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the best thing was the price & the colorful decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the unseasoned steak & cheese sub on the doughy bread was not appealing or delicious. The 2 cheese pizza slices & soda for $7.95 is an awesome deal but so very very plain . The service was fast but just like the food flavorless. Two steak & cheese sub & an order of 2 cheese slices with a soda came up to $34.??. It has been some time since I had been there but the food was as dry & PLAIN No seasoning no flavor no nothing . No friendliness just dry bored service.

Ok, you know me you know I'm from Philadelphia then you know I'm a Pizza snob. Well I accidentally stumbled across this place and its some of the better pizza in Maryland. In the door youll find it roomy, bright and clean with a Philly/NY feel. This place is legit good NY pizza with crispy crust and tons of toppings. They run daily specials. The only thing I wish for is a little more sauce. Give this place a try for sure.

Everyday pizza special two pieces of pizza and a soda for $6.50!!!! What!?

My friend has been going to this place for over 20 Years and raves about it. He brought me here yesterday and wow it is pretty good. The prices are great also. Everyday pizza special two pieces of pizza and a soda for $6.50!!!! What!? The owner Steve is super friendly. Love how you can watch them make and bake your pizzas through the glass. Womens bathroom was clean. Sweet and unsweet iced tea in the self serve soda fountain. My slices had mushrooms and black olives. A lot food for the price. Tasty New York style flat crust. Mmmmm

Tried some new bites - nothing disappoints! And the serving sizes are generous while remaining well-priced. Thank you!

Gross and dirty front windows!
Robert M.

Went for a sub sandwich. Service was fine and prompt. The people behind the counter were using gloves and everything seemed fine. The sub was good. But their front windows are absolutely disgusting! If you aren't bothering to keep your front windows clean, what would make me think your food preparation and kitchen areas are clean?

Moved here from Italy and while this is not Italian pizza, it's an adequate substitute and our regular neighborhood pizza place. Good stuff.

I'm from CT and I'm very selective about pizza. Help me out my Northeast pizza lovers is this worth it or not?

It's a good pie, solid b+. Try pulchinellas in mclean, va it's hard to top.

Having traveled and dined across the globe, I did not expect homemade pasta, fresh espresso, and Neapolitan style pizza to be in Rockville MD. If you live within an hour drive, just take the trip and have lunch or dinner here. Try the espresso martini! I shared a cheese pizza with my daughter, my mother had the chicken piccata, my cousin the gnocchi, my father the chicken parm, my cousin had a caprese salad and the further seats I couldn't see. We all shared a few orders of the calamari. EVERYONE raved about how delicious their food was. I agree. Probably the best piccata I've tasted. The pizza was excellent. The tiramisu great. The pistachio gelato was perfect. I sure wish they were closer to Florida!! So good.

The biggest hit for me was the suppli appetizer. These are absolutely delicious and vegetarian friendly! Similar to arancini but somehow even more delicious. These are a must-order. I had the pasta alla vongole and a bite of my husband's chicken parmigiana. Our friend had mushroom ravioli that she loved, but I didn't try as I don't care for mushrooms. I've been on a clams and garlic kick lately for some reason and the vongole comes with these and bonus bacon. I would have preferred the bacon a tad crispier, but that is personal preference. I'd give this dish 4* - I would get it again but after trying some others. From the one bite the chicken parmigiana was a 5*. Their marinara is very good and the linguine in both our dishes tastes freshly made. We all split the chocolate temptation dessert and I ate more of it than I expected to, it is chocolate mousse adjacent cake with ganache frosting, very light, perfectly sweet. Often I find chocolate desserts too much after a big meal but this one wasn't heavy at all. 5* My friend ordered sangria which she thought was more like a wine cooler; too sweet for her French oenophile sensibilities and a bit lighter than a sangria usually is, but I am a pleb who loves sweet drinks and I would order it. If you are a sangria purist you might not care for it. Hubs enjoyed his old fashioned but said it needed a dash more bitters to be perfect. I was driving so enjoyed a non-dirty Shirley. Prices to me are reasonable for quality and portion size; our tab ended up high because of the appetizer, drinks and dessert but if you just had pizza or pasta with soda it would be pretty affordable. I will be back to get more suppli and try other dishes!

The food was scrumptious, and the service was top-notch. I loved the chocolate mousse, the paccheri pancetta, and the complimentary bread. The attention to detail was impressive. Our server checked on us throughout the meal, another staff member repeatedly refilled my friend's water, and another stopped by to brush the bread crumbs from our table. Parking in the lot directly in front of the restaurant is limited, but there is additional parking available behind the building. The restaurant is beautiful with a warm, romantic, old Italian vibe. The food was great and surprisingly reasonably priced for how nice the restaurant feels. I wouldn't say it's the most mind-blowing Italian food I've ever had, but it tasted like a truly delicious homemade Italian meal. The wine prices were also fair. On top of that, our server was incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the night. Overall, such a lovely dinner and definitely a place we'll be back to again. One note: you have 2 hour limit so just be aware you may be a little rushed!

The food was front and center and the star of the show was the wild mushroom appetizer. I will be coming back for those - mushrooms, artichokes, fig, and goat cheese ... all in a flavorful broth (like how mussels are prepared ) and they leave a piece of bread in the center to soak it all up. Incredible. We also had the salmon, eggplant, and crab ravioli and all the entrees were a home run. Service was immaculate. Both entrees came with a cold, fresh side salad with a tangy Italian dressing. The entrees were very good. The salmon had a nice char, but was moist and flavorful. If you like salmon with a sauce, you'll be disappointed. I like mine simple, and this is a well-prepared salmon. The shrimp (3 large) were good. The spinach had a nice garlic flavor and the asparagus was well prepared - not mushy. The chicken Marsala also was good. The Marsala was light (not thick) and somewhat sweet. Very good. Honestly, the bread service was pretty disappointing. Our last visit the bread was fine, but this basket was pretty dried out and almost seemed stale. The oil accompanying the bread had almost no cheese in it. Essentially, you dipped tasteless bread into oil. Really disappointing. I'm not going to reduce my overall restaurant score for this one thing (because the entrees were very good), but the bread service was not good. The service was good.

We actually had trouble deciding…read morewhat to try because there were so many dishes that sounded amazing, but there is only so much that we can eat at once. After negotiations, we ended up with the following: Goat cheese stuffed fig appetizer White lasagna w/ shrimp and crab (one of the specials) w/ roasted veggies. Italian style paella For drinks, my husband got the blueberry margarita and I followed instructions to "ask about our creative mocktails", and ended up with a superlative strawberry no-jito. (It was REALLY good. I want another one. Now. Hub's drink was also tasty but I liked mine better.) Of all the dishes, my favorite was the Italian style paella. Tons of perfectly cooked seafood in a delicious broth with angel hair. Liht and delicious. The white lasagna was also delish but the dominant flavor was the mozzarella; the seafood didn't come through as much with this one. But I absolutely loved the roasted vegetables it came with. Sometimes the simple dishes are the best. The figs were quite tasty, it's hard to go wrong with goat cheese. I think I get dates and figs confused because they weren't quite what I expected but I enjoyed them. The service was friendly and pretty fast. There are still a bunch of dishes there I want to try so I will try to get back on another date night before too long and order something different. Small negatives - it was a tad warm in the restaurant but given that it was HOT A.F. outside, I will cut them slack on that. Also, I wouldn't have minded a small amount of bread with the meal, maybe you have to order it and I just didn't notice? I'm used to a little bit of bread with Italian food so it didn't occur to me to do so but I would have loved to sop up some of the delicious broth from the paella with it.

While the service was friendly, the timing of the food was slower than expected. Our CT's Famous Grilled Caesar Salad arrived about 20 minutes after ordering, and our Crispy Thin White Pizza didn't arrive until about 45 minutes after we placed our order. I was also disappointed to learn that the Tri Color Cheese Tortellini had been removed from the menu, as it had always been one of my favorite dishes here. The CT's Famous Grilled Caesar Salad is still a solid starter. We also enjoyed the Crispy Thin White Pizza, and I liked that it was presented flat rather than stacked, unlike the version at Amalfi Ristorante. That presentation allowed the toppings and crust to shine, while still offering its own distinct flavor. I'd also love to see the Tortoni dessert make a return, even if it's only offered as an occasional special. It was a memorable way to end a meal and would be a nice nostalgic addition to the menu. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but between the longer wait despite mentioning our schedule and the removal of a couple of favorite menu items, this visit didn't quite match the experiences I've had here in the past.
