    16" Large Cheese Pizza

Love the pizza and the slices are huge! I've been there three times now and always satisfied.

The counter area (free of pesky employees).

Popping into Burger King for a Whopper, I was confronted by an oddity. The newly reopened BK has been transformed into a miniature food court, hosting the King of Fast Food burgers, a place called Jo-Jos, and this pizza / sub spot, Ripienos. I wanted something different, and Jo Jo's seemed a bit expensive for a fast food lunch, so I tried Rip's. Plus, they have calzones. If you ever want to murder me, I'll go into a Rube Goldberg obvious trap if the bait is a calzone. The entire BK smells of smoke. It's tangy, and obviously artificial. But, the giant grill here puts off a lot of smell, too. Unfortunately, I had time to admire it. There was NO ONE at the counter. One employee was in the freezer. After waiting long enough for it to get awkward, I did give a shout. No one came by. The guy behind me in line and I waited awkwardly, and then shouted a few times in harmony. I think we're married in some cultures now. Finally, someone came up, looked at us, pronounced us man and dude, and wandered away. The other guy gave up and left me. Typical. A minute or two later, I did get to give me order. Hilariously, the receipt paper is BK, making me wonder just how independent and small this place is, despite the "SHOP SMALL" signage. The calzone took about 15 minutes, not bad for a calzone. It came without silverware, napkins, etc., and naturally the employees hid as soon as they handed it over. I found them on the edge of the counter. Unfortunately, the knife was too flimsy to cut the calzone. Doh. The calzone itself was okay. A little light on filling, and perhaps the dough was a bit doughy. Could use another cheese, though. For a fast food calzone, it's actually good. The thing is gorgeous. It might have been better if I hadn't had to attack it with my hands. A perfectly mediocre fast food experience.

I decided to try this place since I came to BK for a milkshake. 1. Both Ripieno's and Jojo's had no customers at the time, but I said might as well try it for the heck of it. 2. The roof of the building or vents were leaking so they had trash cans collecting the water at those areas when we went. Not the greatest since it's newly renovated. 3. Service was okay, lady at the front was nice taking the orders, the guy who boxed up the freshly made pizza in the back seemed nice as well. 4. The pizza itself was not worth $9 maybe in Ocean City on the Beach, but down the street in Gaithersburg inside a BK where Giuseppe's offers two pieces of pizza and a soda for six bucks and makes the price feel kind of steep for just a huge slice of Standard Pizza nothing special. Taste was Bland and there was not enough sauce on the pizza so it was basically like you were just eating bread with cheese and pepperoni I saw very little sauce. Fun to try but I probably wouldn't go back. There are better more high quality options for the same price and the only factor that this place has going for it is the size. Which once you go to an actual Quality Pizza Place like Armands or Paisano's you will not come back to this place but it is convenient! If you're looking for something that will help you to get over a hangover this might be the ticket but if you're looking for actual good pizza you might want to skip this one. This Restaurant Group really needs to evaluate things that work in different areas as the same thing that works in Ocean City Maryland are not going to be the same thing that works in Gaithersburg when there are so many other options they should have chosen something like the Bojangles that they initially had planned to go with and not this place. Simply because we do not have a Bojangles here in this area and it's actually good and they could have chosen two other options that would have been easier than the two that they picked simply because they worked in Ocean City. It is a costly decision that will probably follow them for quite a while if it stays open.

Sometimes I wish we could give half stars. I would rate this a 3.5/5. This newly established Burger King food hall is pretty interesting. There was plenty of seating and it felt much more spacious than what it used to be. The pizza is located on the right when you enter, and I have never seen pizza *slices* so big. I was hungry but skeptical for an $8 slice of pizza, but then when it got to me it was massive. I might have made a mistake getting a pepperoni because it was very greasy, but they were very good sized pepperoni's for the pizza. The pizza was a solid basic slice of pie, I could have gone with some ranch on the side maybe. I do need to come back and try some of their other options. I was too hungry to think and it was really late and I had no idea when they close, so I picked whatever was in front of me.

Dropped by Saturday around 6:30 pm to get a slice to go. When I got home and opened the box, I saw the crust was burned. No huge deal as I could cut it off, but then I turn it over and see half the bottom is burned too. Tasted so bitter I threw half of it out. They should have thrown the whole slice out instead of ever putting it out to serve. I saw the slices they were serving the eat-in customers and were nice and fresh. I guess they were saving this one for a carry-out customer/sucker who wouldn't see what they got until getting it home.

The pizza here is my go to spot for when I want a slice and it's the closest thing to a nyc slice within Montgomery County. It's a fairly large slice probably equivalent to two and 1/2 of a normal pizza slice. They only have cheese and pepperoni as the options. Sometimes they do have "special combo slices" available during their busiest time but I have yet to see it. Their cheesesteaks and hoagies are okay however def. Not worth the price they are charging for. French fries and onion rings are ordinary, again nothing to go out of your way for. Bottom line: go here for the pizza slices; skip everything else.

XXL Half cheese and half pepperoni was a hit for us and our neighbors.

Ham & Cheese calzone..... added BACON !!!!

Calzone was delicious !!! I was able to add bacon for only $1 more. Last time I was here, I tried a pep slice and knew I wanted to try other options. Next time, I'll try a cheese steak and either fries or onion rings..... OK OK, I'll get both, . The service was friendly. Their part of the shared restaurant was clean with a couple tables of dining customers.

Amazing Wood Fired Pizza, Calzones, Subs, and Salads! The original location in Ocean City is the best wood fired pizza in Delmarva but now we can get it in Gaithersburg! The slices are HUGE from 28" pizzas! They sell whole pies in 16" and 28".

My boyfriend and I wanted to try this new pizza place. It's located in the old Burger King on shady grove road. It has now revamped into a food court with Burger King, jojos sandwiches and Ripieno's. We decided to get the 28inch cheese pizza with half mushrooms and half pepperoni. It was quite expensive...each topping was $8. Since we did half and half it was $4 each. It came out to a total of $39 for the pizza. I thought it was pretty steep, but when I saw the size of the pizza I kind of got why it was so expensive. The pizza was HUGE. The size of the pepperoni and mushrooms fit the size of the pizza. The slices were cut up like the jumbo slice pizza. The pizza was average at best. The crust was thin and dry. It wasn't as doughy as I had hoped. It almost tasted like a cracker. I did like the mushrooms though. Overall, it was nothing special. I honestly would prefer my college's jumbo slice pizza over this.

No bueno. $8 for a slice that tastes like any pizza you would get on a boardwalk. Soggy, flavorless and definitely not worth the price.

It's a straightforward, family-run place in Olde Town--nothing fancy about the setup, just a solid local spot that focuses on getting the food right. Their pizza is consistently good. I've ordered a few different pies over time and they all come out the way you'd hope from a neighborhood pizza shop.
