Nostalgic memories from high school come to mind whenever I go get a slice. The staff is always friendly and the prices are always good.

We have been to this Flippin location a few times as it's close to us. We usually buy a whole pepperoni pie but once we got an additional cheese as we were having a few folks over. Being from NYC, this is the closest that I have found thus far to a New York style slice (it's missing the river of orange grease that I love...dont judge). The crust is thin and crisp just like New York style and has that New York's style flavor combination of cheese and sauce. The staff is friendly and I have consistently had great customer service. We always get takeout and our pizza has always been ready on time. The inside is relatively small with a few tables (definitely not a spot for a large group). This has become our go-to pizza spot and I highly recommend. read more

A Pretty standard pizza spot. For my visit, I had a couple of slices and thought they were pretty average. While I wouldn't go out of my way to pick up a pizza slice or two from here, it's a decent option if/when you need something quick and easy. This location is consistently disappointing. The pizza is a bit healthier but the service each time is terrible. When ordering slices they repeat your order multiple times and still get it wrong. The pizza slices are barely heated through. When ordering a pie like I did tonight was delayed by 30 mins from the time I was given via email. And I wasn't the only person waiting like that. I made my order online, which was super easy. No delivery fee through grub hub (via Yelp) and could add a tip for the driver easily. When I called to ask a question, the young lady on the phone was sweet, polite, and professional. The delivery man was so nice! I just had surgery and am on crutches and he offered to bring the pizza to my kitchen. The pizza is delicious! Fantastic crust (I ordered the cheese hand tossed pie). The sauce was flavorful but not overwhelming and there was the perfect amount of cheese. I'm from the Philadelphia suburbs and am super snobby about pizza. This place was worth it. I very rarely leave a review, but this is special case. Flippin Pizza has been my go-to pizza place for many years. They make a great pizza, and there is no delivery fee. However. On this latest order, which I made because I am just back from a trip and I literally have nothing to eat in the house, they dropped the delivery ball in a big way. I ordered on a Saturday early evening, 1 pizza and 1 salad. They gave me a 70 minute ETA (!). But ok. I can deal with that even though they are 6 minutes away from my place. When I called around the 90 minute mark, they told me they had sent out a 30-pizza order right before mine and it would be another 15-20 mins. This is not my problem. I may not be a 30-pizza order, but I guarantee I have ordered more than 30 pizzas from them in the time I have lived here. If it were a major chain, there would be some kind of effort to make up for it. The gentleman I spoke with acted like it was no big deal. No apology, no offer of any kind. I am sure Bethesda has plenty of other excellent pizza places. read more

Tried this place for lunch with a couple of co-workers and we all agree we will be back. None of us had been before although the intern being from CA was familiar with the name. We each got the lunch special -- two pieces of pizza and a drink for under $7. There were an assortment of topping options available although some certainly looked fresher than others which did impact my selection. This is NY style, large thin crush pieces you can fold and enjoy. I had one traditional (pepperoni & sausage) and one white with ricotta. It was the perfect amount for lunch. We were all happy with our first visit and plan to have another in the near future. Although it may be a while before we venture from the lunch special the menu does have some other good sounding options. Bottom line -- happy to have tried Flippin, look forward to visiting again. Honestly, how can you not love Flippin' Pizza?? I had no idea there was a location here in MD. The only one I knew about was in Falls Church, VA. I came here after my hair appointment at Ira Ludwig salon located right next door. It was a little busy but no worries, pizza is always worth the wait. I ordered my usual 2 slices. One pepperoni and one cheese. The pizza itself albeit a little greasy is delicious! I love pizza by the slice! It tastes so much better to me! I love the thin crust, brick oven type of pizza. I'm not a huge fan of chain pizza stores like domino's or Pizza Hut. Flippin' Pizza has just the right amount of toppings, sauce, dough, etc. The service was good. The guy who took my order was great. They offer 2 slices and a soda with unlimited refills for $6. Ah-mazing! I will say the restroom could use a little help. First time ever having Flippin' after I split a BOGO coupon with him. Ordered the Brooklyn red which had pepperoni, meatball, mushroom, and fresh garlic. Well, it was supposed to have those toppings. I never saw or tasted any fresh garlic, and all the other toppings were pretty skimpy at best. I guess using the BOGO coupon which ended up being $11.25 for the pie, gets you a few pieces of meat. Crust was OK, nothing special; definitely chain quality at a chain price. Probably won't come back, b/c it wasn't anything special. Paying full price for what I got would be ridiculous. read more

Flippin' has been our go to place, but their quality was way off today. Something big has changed: No thin crust option (Now you can only get one, standard crust) and an average sauce. I'm not sure why they made these changes, but it's a big departure from the wonderful, Neapolitan-style crust and flavorful sauce of past orders. What happened! Flippin' crust quality sunk to subpar compared to midrange pizza places. We used to drive past 3-4 other pizza parlors just for Flippin' superior crusts despite they're being a little more expensive. Their crusts used to be near Neapolitan style, thin and with air at the outer edge. To achieve that requires rise time which also adds favor. Now the crust tastes like cardboard in comparison. The pizza is great and consistency has never really been an issue. My gripe is more so with the inconsistency in delivery. Most of the time, it comes to my door within 45 minutes. Other times, it's taken an hour AND 45 min. I'm not sure if this is an issue with Grubhub in their ETA or their drivers. Either way it's really caused frustration. I really love their pizza, but am always hesitant on getting it delivered because even when I call in to see why it is late, they always tell me "Oh, it will be there within 10 min" and it always ends up being longer. Located solely in California, Maryland, DC, and Virginia- Flippin' is taking quick chain pizza to a whole new level. Their crust is wonderful: crispy on the end with a slight char and substance throughout- all on a fairly thin crust. It's the closest thing to New York Style Pies in the area and it trounces all of its competition. How does it do that? It's hand-tossed artisan style pizza for the price of what the mega-chains are putting out. They have wonderful specialty pizzas as well- like the White Stone: Riccotta, mozzarella, Parmesan , fresh garlic and basil. I tried it today; it was amazing. The large dollops of fresh ricotta just melt in with the rest of the cheese. It's almost like your getting pizza from Matchbox for half the price. You'll notice their pepperoni pizza is dotted with bite size pepperoni. Smart move Flippin', this way you pretty much get one pepperoni in every bite. Not only that, but you get cheese in every bite. The cheese doesn't clump! What a novel idea to have a pizza where your first bite isn't a fist full of cheese. Their buffalo chicken pizza is not too messed with either. This place is the bee knees! Do you know that phrase originated from bee's knees being the delivery device of pollen? The more you know! Price was decent for what i got not more than $10 Environment was calm not noisy there were a couple students from the nearby high school eating there as well, but it was calm nothing crazy going on or loud people talking. I heard NY style pizza should drip when you hold it so I thought to try Flippin' pizza, known as NY style pizza on my way home from rockville. The location is not easy to be found since it's in new building-area between DSW and Giant. If you see Chipotle, it's right next to it. Great thing about Flippin' was $5 for two slices w/drink deal. There were 6-7 kinds to choose from. I don't usually get/need drink for my meal so I asked the cashier if I can get one more slice instead of drink. He was thinking for a while and then said OK. I got my 3 slices of white pizza (ricotta/two other kinds of cheese). The cashier put some basil-strips right before heating them up so the basil wouldn't get burned by being heated up more than once (how thoughtful!!). Since it's NY style pizza, you are supposed to just grab and eat it from the end of triangle side. So, even if they give you the slice on paper plate that flips as soon as the pizza is landed, it shouldn't matter. Slices are from 18" pizza so it's HUGE. I LOVE IT. All the pizza were priced $18. I picked up the carry-out menu (folded into cute shape) but it had too dark background to be scanned for you. The dough is thin and balance well with toppings. I think Flippin's would be great option for NY-style pizza lovers and ones who looking for BIG pizza with gourmet toppings. Ambiance is similar to Chipotle so it's not a date-night out place but great place to just stop by to satisfy your hunger before going grocery shopping at Giant or after shoe-shopping at DSW. read more

The toppings were ok, but like another reviewer said, if you advertise that it has pepperoni on it, you expect to actually see some (referring to their "Brooklyn pizza".) The service was pretty dismal though. The cashier was some college kid who clearly did not want to be there, and had an attitude to match.
