The pizza here is always spectacular. I really appreciate the consistency in quality. When I order a large with black olives I know it's going to be covered in them. There's not going to be a few on a piece and a lot on another, every piece will have enough to say that it's a black olive pizza. The service is great and fast. Order up at the counter and find a seat. They'll bring it to you. You want a soda? Get up and refill. And talking about the atmosphere, there's enough space for a party here or for a few families to be eating. Tuesday 10/08/2024 Came across this spot while searching for "best restaurants in Maryland" (via Reddit) so I decided to make a visit. I made a call in order for takeout and the service was solid. I got the 2 slice special $7.50, 1/2 chicken parm sub $9.25, side of fries (add on with sub) $3.89, and a whole Philly cheesesteak $15.89. - The (cheese) pizza slices were mid but the crust was TERRIBLE and it brings down the pizza the overall pizza experience. - The chicken parm was slightly above average. It was very cheesy (especially when unwrapping it from foil) but the chicken was low quality based on its taste and texture. - The fries were by far the worst item I had as they were BAD. They clearly weren't fresh and tasted like they had been out for while. - The Philly sub was the best of what I had but it was just alright. I can't say $16 for the sub is worth it as you can get it better elsewhere but that's just me. Overall, my visit was pretty disappointing and I certainly won't be returning. Been there ONLY 1 time about 6 years ago (1/26/2020) with my aunt & sister because my aunt's hairdresser said that her mom & 3 boys go there and like the pizza and said that it was really good, so we decided to go and give it a try. Tbh it was really NASTY!!! The pizza was a huge disappointment. We ate inside & got a cheese pizza & a pepperoni w/ onions pizza & it wasn't really good. The dough tasted like straight-up cardboard; it was burnt & black, making it look like it went through World War 80!. It was 15 years ago when I moved to this area. After a day of nonstop packing, we realized it was time for a late dinner. We weren't familiar with the area so we ordered from the first place that we could find, Giuseppi's. We ordered multiple items and it was good, not spectacular. About a year or so later, we decided to try them again. When we walked in, they had a poster up that was discussing their political views on a presidential candidate. If I remember correctly, it was on the wall not too far from the register. It was a turnoff for me personally. It was about 5 or so years later when I went there as part of team celebration. I enjoyed the food. Not long after that, I visited again on my own and ordered a cheesesteak sub. It's one of the best in the county. Not too many restaurants serve them so it's good to see a restaurant that does. I've always experienced great service here. I support free expression but I prefer highlighting the commonality which is we like good food. The prices and portion size are very reasonable. I highly recommend. read more

This is our family's go to pizza. The slices are big, the dough, cheese and crust are so flavorful. The 2 slices with a soda deal is great and has been my husband's go to order for years. The subs and chicken parm are really good too! We took our daughter's monthly baby photos with their large pizza, which has 12 slices, perfect for a slice every month! Giuseppi's was a place I used to ALWAYS get traveling between DC and West Virginia. In July, they had a great manager, condiments on top. Since then , the food has dropped in quality and now the new management is putting under the cheese. I called and the manager berated me for requesting the pepperoni on top of the cheese! I kid you not, he said "we have always served the meat under the cheese and if YOU require it on top, you must tell us". After always ordering a pepperoni pizza and NEVER requesting any type of way. The pizza has CONSISTENTLY been under cooked and doughy. The last visit, I came in, they must've had an order of 20 before I came, but this managers son who was 10-12 came to try and check us out, before his dad tried to get him to calm down after almost dropping the pizza box 3 times. The ambiance is weird. The manager left the working area and sat down with a woman and 4 kids. The floors sticky. Garlic powder is old, tables and chairs are oily. The tables wobble. I'd expect this from a fairly rundown restaurant, not Giuseppi's. It's a sad spiral that I sadly won't see to the end. I would've otherwise ALWAYS recommend Giuseppi's. Never again will I. Nor will I try it after being told I'm crazy for requesting it a way that's always been served to me. This new management is abysmal and hilariously sad. *edit* my best meals were in august and past. I've eaten here many times over the past seven years and I'm usually pretty satisfied. The pizza is probably a 3/5 stars and the cheesesteaks are 4/5 stars. However, today I ordered a Philly Boli (basically a Philly cheese steak calzone) and was very disappointed. The portion was huge, but there were several problems: - The crust was not cooked through; it was crispy on the outside but very doughy on the interior. - the inside was about 90% cheese (and way, way too much of it) and only about 10% steak. I had to go searching through mounds and mounds of cheese to find even a tiny bit of steak. - there was supposed to be pizza sauce in the interior of the calzone, but there wasn't any. Instead, a small amount of red sauce was served on the side in a little cup. That's not what the menu described, and the small cup of sauce that comes with the calzone was way too little given the huge size of the calzone. - calzone had very little flavor; was very bland. - The menu says that it has cheese inside, so I was expecting mozzarella or Parmesan. It came with mozzarella and ricotta. The ricotta was cold, had no flavor, and didn't add to the dish at all. - in fact, the entire the interior of the boli was cold: the steak (what little of it there was) was cold, the onions were cold and raw, and the cheese was cold. The calzone had not been cooked through properly. This is a problem, because the crust exterior was plenty brown, so they couldn't have kept it in the oven any longer. Suggestion: eliminate the ricotta, cut the mozzarella by about 70%, and quadruple the steak. (I've had lots of these in Philly and that should get the proportions about right). Cut the volume of ingredients inside by about half, and reduce the price by half. Also, pre-warm or pre-cook the steak and onions so that they're warm when served. There is too much stuffed into the interior of the calzone for the ingredients to cook properly. Finally: it's impossible to eat this with the plastic forks and knives that Giuseppes provides in the dining room. It would be nice if they served a dish like this with real cutlery. I broke three plastic forks trying to eat it. For $14, this was a complete disappointment. 4 stars for their cheesesteaks, 3 for their pizza, and 1 star for their bolis, for a total of two stars. read more

The cheese looked stale, it was sort of dried and hard. There was not enough tomoato sauce, nor did it have any type of flavor. The mushrooms were raw and semi-black, and the side salad was soggy. As a nyc native resident, I am extremely dissappointed and had to share my experience to alarm others. The quality of ingredients have also declined, even down to the tomatoes and italian dressing. Frequented both the Rockville location (back before the Rockville Town Square existed and it was between a pottery place and Magruders grocery store, then it moved across the street next to the movie theater haha) and this location since I was a kid. Consistent favorites: eggplant parm sub, steak and cheese, tuna bulkie, and of course, cheese pizza. What makes it for me is the flavor of the cheese on the pizza- it definitely tastes like a good combination of mozzarella and like an aged provolone. Also, my family orders extra cheese on everything, but this is the only place the default amount of cheese is acceptable to all concerned haha Honestly, it's always reliable and always has been; the only downside is that the curly fries have always been reliably kinda weak haha but that's not a large con for me because I usually fill up on other carbs and can get fries with other kinds of meals haha Not huge inside, but this isn't too much of a problem, fair amount of parking, bonus at this location it's free parking! Solid 3 to 3 1/2 stars. I've mainly come here for lunch for their 2 slices of pizza and soda special. Their pizzas are greasy, so just soak up the grease with napkins. Add little parm n oregano, it tastes good. I put napkins under my pizza slices when I get pepperoni too. Helps quite a bit. Their Curley fries are tasty. I add some parm to it with lots of catsup. Their chicken wings are deep fried and comes with blue cheese. They don't coat their wings with any sauce, just plain fried wings. Some of my friends didn't care for them. I liked them. I do like their steak salads. Lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions and meat (lots of it). Good no carb option. Haven't tried their subs or sandwiches in quite a long time. Jersey Mikes original Italian sandwich is so good, will need to try their Italian sub here to compare. Finding an independently owned pizza place around here is a rare treat. It is so nice to find something other than the awful chains that litter our strip malls serving awful attempts at pizza. Giuseppi's delivers that authentic hand tossed pizza parlor experience to an area that is seriously lacking it. The pizza looks good, but always tastes very bland to me. I've been here several times. Salt helps but I think they need a spicier sauce and maybe to salt the dough. The pizza is so bland tasting that when you try to spice it up with red pepper or salt...all you taste is the salt or red pepper...it doesn't help to bring out the flavor which is missing all together. And this place is no different as this has to be one of my favorite spots to go to for their twist on the famous Philadelphia cheesesteak. This place has been a staple around the Kentlands area for serving up their community with their oven baked pizzas. But yet, I've never quite gotten to trying their pizzas as their cheesesteak has a vice grip on me. The melted provolone, sautéed onions and mushrooms packed with tons of shredded lettuce and sliced tomatoes encased in their toasted bun. Sure it's greasy and can be quite messy. But that's the truest form of a Philadelphia cheesesteak. Nothing pretentious nor anything fancy about it. I placed an order right when they opened at 12pm today (a Sunday). My custom pizza (bell pepper, mushroom, chicken) and wings were ready for pickup 20 minute later. Major score! Everything was piping hot when I picked it up, and it made my car smell amazing. It was all promptly devoured at my family's football watching party. Considering I got 3 orders of the buffalo wings and thought my family would go through maybe 1 order, that's saying something! Everyone's been saying how good the food is and asking where we got it from. They're more than generous with the toppings (hellooooo chicken!), so I felt like I got my money's worth.
