It was a rough go (with me returning 4 times and having to do a lot of the leg work, finding and holding up dresses myself). Ultimately I found my dress myself as it is almost impossible for them to find anything you see online. And even though the company says they are size inclusive, at the store level it is very limited to try on. The store is trying to get organized and improve but they have a big mountain to climb. They are understaffed and weekends must be avoided at all costs (pure chaos). But I do want to thank Nancy, Hayley, Kai, Evelyn and Rebecca for your help. read more

My bridesmaids had a great experience while looking for dresses. We made an appointment and received uninterrupted attention from a consultant. She was absolutely incredible. She took the time to speak to each bridesmaid to find out what kind of style they were looking for since I left the style open to their preference. She was extremely patient and did a fantastic job. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star review was due to a seamstress we spoke to right before leaving. She had a very bad attitude and was very short with all of us. What really annoyed me the most, was the disrespectful demeanor toward my mom. My mom had questions regarding alterations and left feeling very uneasy due to her remarks and lack of customer service. Other than that portion of our visit, everyone else was fantastic, patient and accommodating. read more

Two words, life savers! I had a last minute gala to attend for my job and needed an elegant dress. I walked into David's Bridal on a Saturday evening, hopeful and nervous. All that changed when I met Rebecca (hoping I spelled her name correctly). From the moment I stepped into the store, it was nothing short of a great experience. First, I was kindly greeted by a gentleman who directed me on how to start my search. I searched and searched but could not find a thing. Rebecca must have seen me scrambling because she came over and kindly offered to help me. I explained my dilemma and the style I was looking for. She came up with about 4 different dresses, many of which I had walked by so many times, then opened a fitting room for me. It took about 10 dresses before we found what we thought was a great option. I tried on a strapless red dress that complimented me well. Rebecca suggested I try it on with some cute heels and voila! We thought we had my dress. As I was waiting to check out, I ended up finding another dress that peaked my interest. Rebecca was kind and patient enough to re-open the fitting room for me. Mind you, this was an hour before closing but that dress, turned out to be THE dress! It fit so well and outshined every other dress I tried that evening. I cannot express my gratitude enough. Rebecca was not only kind, but she was attentive, patient, and a great listener. She took the time to offer suggestions that met what I wanted but also pushed me outside the box a little. THIS DAVID BRIDAL STORE AT CENTRAL PARK PERMANENTLY CLOSED (including the alteration location) AT LEAST MONTHS AGO!! I saw Google reviews from 3 weeks prior that made it seem they were open (it has now been deleted). I drove 45 minutes to the location on 8/6/23 just to find out it was completely empty. But they still have David's bridal signs near this location, which is misleading. When I attempted to speak to someone over the phone before I drove there to ask if they were open, I was on hold for over 30 min before the call ends automatically. My experience was beyond excellent! Adenike helped me pick out the best dress for me and my body type. I have body image issues and she patiently and softly helped me not only find the dress that matched my destination wedding, style, and body type but also made me LOVE my body again! I thought this was going to be a long painful day because I am not one to go shopping but it went by so fast and in 4 tries- I found the perfect dress!!! She also helped me find the jewelry, crown, and veil! She even helped my mother and mother-in-law find their matching dress in 1 try!!! She was very attentive, listened to my concerns and you could tell she loved what she did!!! We expressed it to her then and I will say it again, she was a GODSEND! First & foremost, I love the fact that the staff are all wearing mask prioritizing health & safety. I had my first appointment at David's Bridal today and my entire experience went great. I worked with stylists Stephanie who's currently in training. I must say, I felt really taken care of bec JoAnna who is the main stylist didn't hesitate to jump in & gave me great advice as far as how the dress Silhouette fits my frame to the color of the dress & how it compliments my skin tone all the way on how the veil completed the entire look. I said yes to the dress today . I also want to mention that there are so many beautiful dresses to choose from and awesome price range. I had a wonderful experience at this location. Carmen was so helpful getting several dresses for me to try on that I had seen online, and also brought others she thought I would like to try on as well. She made the experience very enjoyable, relaxing and encouraging. The alterations department was awesome! Angela created a breath-taking bustle that received countless compliments on my wedding day and also found a beautiful ivory, beaded wrap to wear with my dress. Each time I went, they were so meticulous, making sure everything was laying correctly and that I was comfortable in the dress. A dream team! They just need more room than that corner!! I called David's bridal today because we ordered all our brides maid dresses from them and unfortunately one of the dresses got altered wrong (not there somewhere else not associated with them) and the wedding is tomorrow and I spoke to Jenna who was so extremely helpful . She found me a similar dress , same color in stock in her store and she even spoke to the seamstress at David's bridal and was able to have the dress tailored today!!! She literally saved the wedding . I have to say after speaking to Jenna and her remarkable customer service I am at ease . She was so friendly and helpful and that's hard to come by these days . Imagine going to pick out a wedding gown for the most special and important day of your life & the lady helping you cares so little that she just sends you in the dressing room and disappears without a word just never comes back, not even to zip you up or ask how you're doing. Beyond rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. I literally was standing there for 10 minutes with an unzipped dress asking at least 3 employees where the woman helping me was. Little kids running around everywhere, no organization, dirty store. I can't believe David's BRIDAL would treat its brides like this. Shame on you. Shopping for a wedding dress should be a wonderful experience for the Bride... this was a nightmare. I hate shopping!!! My fiancee bought her wedding dress from this store, so we came back to buy the flower girl dresses. I decided to join my fiancee, my mom, sister-in-law and cousin to pick out dresses for 2 flower girls. Immediately, my fiancee was greeted with a hug and a huge smile from Marissa (who sold her the wedding dress a few months ago). The whole process was fun, quick, and painless. Marissa made all of us very comfortable and treated us like family. I would definitely go back just to work with Marissa. I went in tonight with an appointment and a very strict budget for the dress of my dreams. My stylist JoAnna did a fantastic job at listening and helping me to see and find exactly what I needed for my special day! As I write this review I am truly in tears because I am beyond ecstatic. I want to start off from the beginning. I originally went to David's Bridal at this location in July and they assigned JoAnna to me and I can't even begin to express how grateful I am being that this has been an interesting journey. My initial perception of JoAnna was that I knew she cared about me and every other bride that crosses her path (and I will get into exactly why I say this). In July, I unhesitatingly rang the bell and said "yes" to my dress. A few months go by and I finally get my dress delivered. I open the box and my excitement turned into disappointment, and to no fault of David's Bridal.. just myself. The dress I originally said "yes" to was beautiful but it wasn't for me. I always found myself second guessing and asking if I made the correct decision. I contacted customer service on the DB's website. We spoke via chat and as per the representative, the dress was a final sale and I couldn't even exchange it. I was so devastated and I kept trying to force myself to love my dress. This is a dress I'm going to wear once and it's supposed to be perfect for my wedding day. Fast forward to present. Being that I am dealing with wedding stress all of us brides go through, I made my best friend handle the phone call (LOL). Something told me to contact this DB location and see if there was something they can do. My best friend spoke to Alison on the phone and she told us to come by right away (she spoke to her today 02/21/18). When we arrived, Alison was standing at the front with a few other lovely women and they were so welcoming. Alison immediately knew it was Amanda and I and made all of our troubles go away. She even went the extra mile and contacted JoAnna and this is where I am going to SWEAR by JoAnna. JoAnna came in on her day off knowing I was having this crisis. Not because she was forced, but because she truly cares about her brides and wants them to be happy. She is so genuine and is a beautiful person inside and out. I was so happy to see her. She reassured my worries and got right to work. We spoke about what I didn't like about the original dress and she made sure to not bring any dress that matched my dislikes. I tried on one dress that I saw online and it was a miss for me. Then, with a grin on her face and Alison shouting in the background "yes!! You're trying that dress on??!!", I tried on this beautiful dress. I took one look in the mirror and I couldn't stop smiling. JoAnna managed to pick a dress that I KNEW in my heart was MY dress. Another reason to love this location? The whole time I thought that I couldn't exchange and they told me "that's ridiculous! WE don't follow those guidelines, we want our customers to be happy." They gladly accepted to use my original gown and a bridesmaids dress as an exchange for my new dress plus I was able to purchase a beautiful veil and sash that was of course suggested by the AMAZING JoAnna. I was beyond grateful. I highly recommend this location to any bride that has been feeling stressed. The staff is always welcoming and knowledgeable ESPECIALLY my JoAnna!!!! My mom and I had made an appointment for her online. She picked out a dress and was told they'd have it in multiple sizes. When we arrived, the lady helping us was dismissive and sarcastic. She scoffed when we told her about the appointment. She brought us to see some dresses, literally pointed at one and said this is all we have. They didn't have the dress she had looked at online, but whatever, we looked at some other dresses. She did not help us in the slightest and was being really rude, which was upsetting especially because of it being my moms special day and her being so excited. She gave us dirty looks as my mom stepped out in the dress to see herself (because there are no mirrors inside the dressing room). When we went to check out, we were waiting in line for 20 minutes while staff was chatting away right next to the cashier. We were checked out by a very nice lady who saw we had been waiting and helped us out. All in all just a very disappointing experience, they really know how to make you feel unwanted there. read more

I came in a week and a half ago with two of my bridesmaids to look at bridesmaid dresses. JoAnna was our stylist for the appointment, and she was quite informative, kind, and patient. I came in not knowing I could like dresses online via the App. But, I had screenshots and JoAnna knew exactly which dresses they were and whether they had them in the store or not. We left with strong contenders in mind. A few days ago, I decided I wanted to check out David's Bridal in Yonkers. I had another appointment at a boutique, and knew which dress I would buy from the boutique; but I had a feeling I should check out David's before I bought my dress. I texted JoAnna the night before to see if I could come in for an appointment. I was able to bypass all the online scheduling, and scheduled my appointment with JoAnna for the next day. I came in just to look and compare to the dress I knew I wanted to buy elsewhere. But, with JoAnna's help and knowledge of ALL the dresses in the store I FOUND MY DRESS! Like the bridesmaid appointment I came in with only screenshots, but JoAnna was able to look at them all and find what they had in store. I ended up deciding I would not go to the boutique to buy the dress, and buy THE dress from David's. I left David's purchasing my wedding dress, veil, hair piece, A line skirt, corset, and the box with cleaning service after the wedding. The price of everything was by far the better than I anticipated to spend! The only reason I did not give my review five stars, is nothing the associates could have done better, but because David's Bridal changed the company they validate their personal checks with. My personal check would not validate, the associate called corporate, corporate advised I called the bank, my banker spoke to the associate, ran the check again with no luck, called corporate again, then called the validating check company, went through their entire automated service, then spoke with a representative. The representative stated as I so not have an account with them they could not process my check, but he was willing to set me up with an account for next time. I opted out, as I do not plan to do this again. So, I paid with the card link to the same account as my checks, and it was processed and everything was purchased. This process took over 30 minutes. As my experience finding my dress was lovely, my check out experience was not. But, that is not on the associates at David's Bridal in Yonkers. Just something corporate should have taken into account before switching their personal check processing company. And the associate mentioned she had seen it all with the processing of checks there, but my case was the first she has seen. I came here to try on bridesmaid dresses for a friends wedding. The service here is seriously lacking and if I was a bride looking for dresses I would definitely pass on this place. The bride made an appointment so we had to wait for her but we were allowed to browse while we waiting. Our attendant kept disappearing so we I couldn't as her questions and she didn't have any information in regards to either type of dress I needed to get. I will say that once the bride came the girl we worked with was a bit more helpful. She even called a store in another state to ship a dress for me. The store itself is kind of dirty and not that impressive. I have dreams of grandeur when going to buy a wedding dress or anything for a wedding and this place didn't give that. What really makes this place a one star is for the company itself. I had to end of returning the dress and when I called the out of state store they couldn't even find a record of my purchase. After way too much fighting and a phone call to corporate I got my refund, which is rare since this is a final sale place. I went for my gown fitting on 12/23. I was excited because I was looking forward to seeing Cynthia again. When I arrived, I was told Cynthia wasn't in and I was disappointed. However, my consultant for the day was Imani. She was such a sweetheart. I came with my mother and daughter and she made sure they were seated and comfortable. She bought over a few dresses I had picked out ahead of time. She was honest with her opinion on what worked for my figure and what didn't. I tried on 2 dresses and when I got to the third, she and I both agreed it was THE ONE. It gave me the perfect hour glass figure, which I know will make my fiancè drool when I walk down the aisle. She bought out a veil and shoes, which bought the entire look together. My family and I were beyond satisfied. Ughhhh Wedding Dress shopping lol. I was so nervous and anxious about the whole thing. My bridesmaids and I arrived and were greeted by Joann. Honestly without her I cant imagine the mess we would've been in that store. I tried on quite a few dresses and styles and Joann was extremely helpful and PATIENT!! I did not purchase a dress that day but did leave with one in mind. I made a follow up appointment to go purchase that dress. When I arrived she informed me the 2020 spring line was out and there were new dresses for me to check out. I'm so thankful for her, I bought my dream dress from the new 2020 line. Horribly rude staff and lack of inventory, we made an appt and they asked us to pick dresses online so they could have them ready for us, when we got there they hadn't pulled anything and didn't have any of the styles we wanted to try in stock, the things they did have in stock were torn and dirty. She was incredible and so sweet. I had a very bad moment when trying on the dresses and she was so kind and understanding. I went back the next day to try on the dress again with a calm mind, and while she already had an appointment, she still helped me try on the dress. As I sat watching my sister try on her dresses I was distracted by the unprofessionalism I was witnessing by another employee she dismissed the needs of her bride to be. I walked into DB on a Monday evening in tears after my tailor ruined my original dream wedding dress (neither tailor nor original dress was from DB). Only FOUR days before my wedding - the team at David's Bridal went all hands on deck and started pulling dresses for me. After four hours I found the dress of my dreams and was expertly fitted by the amazing tailor Angela. I came back two days later, Wednesday, to pick up my wedding dress, and I happily walked down the aisle in it Friday - just two days after that. I had the most amazing experience here (the second time around)! My first was awful, but This time made up for all of it!! Jessica, her manager, and the entire staff were so accommodating and thoughtful. They spent hours making sure i was happy and dressing me up like a doll. Updated... my wedding was 10/8/17. Just had to follow up and say although I had a wonderful fitting experience, the alternations were just terrible! I had to go back 3 times to fix the same problem. After the 3rd time and almost $500.00 later I was still extremely dissatisfied with the alters they almost ruined my dress and the delicate fabric. I ended up taking it to my local cleaners who did an amazing job in just 1 week! Joan's cleaners on 230st. off broadway in the kingsbridge area. Although my initial experience in store was amazing, the customer service I have receive over the phone since has been terrible. When I purchased my gown i was informed it should I arrive in the store around December 3rd, but someone would call me to confirm. So when I hadn't heard anything by the 21st or 21nd (cant remember exactly) I called the store to make sure everything was okay. After a long hold a women came back to the phone to tell me that my dress has just arrived that day. And I was free to pick it up when I could, I informed her on the phone that with the holidays I'd be busy and asked if there was a time frame in which i had to pick it up. She said no. and that I could take my time Fast Forward to the next week when I get a call from a rude women who says shes calling from David's Bridal and that I need to pick up my dress. I informed her that no one even called me to tell my dress was in store, and I spoke to someone a the week prior who said i could take my time with the holidays coming. Her response was "Well, I don't know what to tell you, but we can hold you dress any longer". I asked her how long I had to pick it up and she said within a week, or they were going to ship it out. Today, Tuesday (day 6 of my 1 week deadline), I called for what I thought would be a short pleasant conversation that went as such. Me: Hi, I have to come in and pick up my wedding dress, I was just wondering how it was packaged. Employee: What do you mean, how is it packaged? Me: I'm not sure, what is the dress in when I have to pick it up. Employee: Well what kind of dress is it? (you can hear the attitude in her voice" Me: Um, a ball gown? Employee: Well is it a bridal gown? (her attitude is getting worse) Me:Yes, I just stated it is my wedding dress Employee; "Its in a clean bag so you can see it" Me. Thank you...Employee: Hangs up before I finish speaking.... Dear David's Bridal Manager, I am highly unsatisfied with the way that we left things earlier today in your store. My cousin was helped by a very competent consultant. Even without an appointment (and on one of your busiest work days), she was seen immediately. Only a few months earlier, I had been kept waiting 45 minutes on a weekday morning when the store was not as full. Notwithstanding, the wait time is not my gripe; poor customer service is. Today, the consultant who helped my cousin was quick to find her the dress (unlike mine, for whom it took almost three tries to find the dress on my first visit and who took almost ten minutes to find the bride's name in the system the next visit) and made recommendations on size and alterations. Mine didn't do SQUAT. Yet, those are not the reasons why I am reviewing your store on Yelp and giving you only one star. The consultant who helped my cousin today saw that there was a chance that the dress my cousin ordered would arrive too close to the wedding date to make any necessary alterations, and so she suggested that she search the DB database to see if other stores nearby happened to carry the dress in the right size and color. Lo and behold, the dress was available in a location in Manhattan. Witnessing this transaction, I realized that my consultant had never asked to see if another location had the dress. As a result, I might not get the dress before September 26. The wedding is October 6. I informed the consultant who helped us today of the matter. When she saw the name of the consultant who'd "helped" me, her face immediately betrayed that my consultant is a major F*CK UP. She turned to you to assist me; I've got to say again that I was terribly disappointed with the way the situation was handled. There are two things that struck a chord with me: 1. You informed me that consultants don't take the initiative to offer to search the database to see if the item is stocked at a different store because (and I quote) "that's not part of our sales pitch training". GASP. If you don't see a problem with that statement, you have no business managing a retail store. Furthermore, it's not a "sales pitch" if I've already established that I'm buying the dress and I'm paying for it at the register. It demonstrates your ignorance! 2. Consultants "only do those things if the customer asks". Lady, I'm not asking you to monogram my dress; I'm asking you to do a damn search which costs you NOTHING to do. If anything, it increases your customer loyalty because you'll be remembered for your diligence and your willingness to make the experience easier. Also, this is the kind of statement I'd expect from a trainee, not from a manager. You essentially just admitted that you don't train consultants in customer service, even though this is a service job. Frankly, I'd be embarrassed to be the person who trained YOU. Lastly, you had the nerve to say that "the dress should be in the store before the event" (I still can't believe you said this), so "hopefully that won't be an issue". You gave me free shipping to my house to make up for the egregious lack of customer service. I live ten minutes away, so I don't know how free shipping to my house even helps me. You should've searched your database for a store that had the dress in my size and color. You should've called them to place it on hold. You probably didn't need to cancel the order you had placed for the dress; you could've just added it to inventory after making the appropriate bookkeeping entries. I'm not asking to return the dress (I can't anyway; it's final sale), but I thought that you would've at least tried to see if the order could've been canceled so I could've picked up the dress at another location that happened to carry the dress in my size. It wouldn't cost you anything; your company would be making the same money off of the transaction. Your response was extremely disappointing and demonstrates that (a) your customer skills could really use a little work, and (b) you should really consider a business education of some sort (buy a book from Barnes and Noble on customer service, Google some lingo you might need to use in the course of your work so that you sound informed, etc.). I am not sure why a location that is suppose to help someone plan "one of the happiest days of their life" in Yonkers. But, since the City would've been too far for some of my bridal party so this is the location I had to go too. The store was a mess and I'm rather sure certain customers were just there messing around not actually shopping. We were told to wait for an assistant, about a 1/2 hour they said. Took almost 45 and by that point we just needed a changing room. We could only have one changing room that wasn't clean and the assistant. She went on a cig break and had to be hunted down. After her break she tells us all the things is disliked about our personal choices and then pointed to the incredibly long waiting line to pay. At the end of that line was a register and computer from 1990 and a person with attitude to match the rest of the assholes working there. They gladly took the money and then called when it was time to get the dresses. I was told a license must be shown to get the dresses upon pick up. That'd not true because they let a member of the wedding party picked everything up without so much as a peep about ID. I guess you shop here because it's what is thought about as a location to shop when getting married. Hopefully this location will move, retrain it's staff and but some level of fun back into wedding shopping. read more
