While this is industry wide, I felt writing a review describing my issues might resonate with this business. I of course have no idea how this occurs... but this ex-engineer can only guess there are several places in the manufacturing process where sizing might go awry. I tried on 4 different pair of her Uber comfortable Pep Skate Sneaker, and each one fit differently. Ranging from a half, to a full size too small, and a half size too big. I know for sure I am never taking shoe reviews seriously again. Yes, one pair fit *just right*... and it is welcomed home! I am sure I am not alone..... It was a rough go (with me returning 4 times and having to do a lot of the leg work, finding and holding up dresses myself). Ultimately I found my dress myself as it is almost impossible for them to find anything you see online. And even though the company says they are size inclusive, at the store level it is very limited to try on. The store is trying to get organized and improve but they have a big mountain to climb. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star review was due to a seamstress we spoke to right before leaving. She had a very bad attitude and was very short with all of us. What really annoyed me the most, was the disrespectful demeanor toward my mom. My mom had questions regarding alterations and left feeling very uneasy due to her remarks and lack of customer service. Other than that portion of our visit, everyone else was fantastic, patient and accommodating.

Her price was reasonable (way lower than I thought) and she did the job in just over a week or so. When I went in for my 2nd fitting I was blown away. The dress fit perfectly. She did an amazing job. The neighborhood of Riverdale is beautiful in and of itself. So many Irish folks live here that the local Sunoco boasted Irish Products for sale on it's awning. And the shop is situated right on Riverdale Ave so you are right there in the middle of the neighborhood. There is a ton of construction on the block but parking was still good enough to accommodate everyone. I walked down the hill to the shop and there was a message to enter through the pub/restaurant next door. No problem at all and I walked right in and was greeted by a lovely Irish lady who was so sweet and helpful. I did not think it was Mary Anne herself because I called before I went there and was told that she would not be in the shop today. "But she can come down and see me if we needed her." LOL I thought that was great. I love little stuff like that in a shop. I went here because it looked the nicest from the pics that I saw online. I did not want cheap stuff that you can buy at the St Patrick's Day parade or expensive sweaters. They had a nice selection of different items in the small shop. I do not enjoy browsing and window shopping too much but this was fun because of all the cool stuff situated around. I reviewed everything in the shop a few times and decided to get my Aunt a nice clutch purse that was made in Ireland. The lady that worked there told me that "it would last 100 years." I also got a really nice set of silver candle holders for the table with celtic knots all over it. The best part for me was the nice lady that worked there also wrapped them very nicely for me as well. I even got some greeting cards from here with old images from Ireland that were really cool. They take only a few measurements (not even close to what other made-to-measure tailors do). This process might work OK if you have a very average body shape. But if you have an athletic build and a suit drop of more than 8 inches, I wouldn't waste my time. They built 2 separate suit jackets to try to match my athletic build and both looked terrible and they agreed with the flaws I pointed out but said there was nothing else they could do. Total waste of time but at least I received a full refund since I never accepted the suit.

(That's $2.50/per item for those who don't shop as much as me and need a calculator...) Everything else is also largely discounted. The salespersons are even emptying out the boxes they had in storage. Everything must go. I have no idea why... I have always loved lunch shopping at Laila Rowe for earrings and such, and honestly I hate to see them go. If you go, don't expect any assistance, though. The employees are unpacking boxes and happily chatting amongst (Is that still a word?) themselves.
