Just went to Macy's today July 7, 2023 at 11:15 to pick up an online order and as usual the service was quick and easy. I then went to Finish Line and it was the complete opposite. It seem like the guy in there didn't want to be there and that's okay but the customer shouldn't be able to tell. Then I ask him for a price, he had to go get the box to get the price (I understood). He comes back does something on the computer, mark something on a label, out the sneaker back and disappear never saying a word to me. At that point I was just done so I put the sneaker that I was already going to purchase back and just left. Customer service at its worst!! I went there for perfume. There were a lot of associates on the floor offering help and suggestions. Which is very nice these days. I thought this store was going to close at one point last year. THe thieves in the neighborhood were stealing them blind. I was there one day and this chick who must've been a regular thief was trying to leave the store with things in her bag she didn't pay for. She was acting like a crazy woman. But the security was inside and little did she know there were standing right outside the store so she threw everything down and ran up the street. The Chanel sales person was rude! Beyond rude. I'm visiting my Mom and took her to Macys on her 85th birthday to get a perfume she wore Chanel #5 for 20 years. I always buy her the Big bottle for her Birthday. Last year she asked me not to because she said it smelled different. I took her to the Channel area so she could try some other scents. She tried explaining to the Rep. her issue immediately the Rep said no they have never changed the scent and pushing a sale, having her try different scents but in a combative way not a tactful, kind understanding of the elderly way I even signals her to back off to calm down. She proceeded to tell my Mother that she lost her sense of smell in a rude way. I was appalled. In all my years of sale never have I heard a Person insult like she did, not only did she tell my Mother but she told two other Reps around her that no she doesn't have her sense of smell. I saw my Mother's reaction feeling embarrassed and she said no I no longer want anything. We left. As we exit she said that lady was very rude to me, I didn't appreciate how she treated me. This was a horrible experience. I'm a business owner and shame on her. Macys you've been my store for decades but this experience was horrible on my mothers 85th Birthday! read more

I used to love Macy's But this one Shirley took the cake and making me feel completely different way. I went into Macy's August 25 around mid afternoon just trying to enjoy my shopping and relaxing time as I was passing by the perfume section. I noticed this group of employees that were getting yelled at by a manager. I noticed her name tag, and her name was Ana & the way she was just talking down and belittling this group of employees was extremely embarrassing. I could only imagine how they felt being yelled at out on the floor while customers are around, just trying to shop that completely ruined my experience at Macys.As someone that use to work in retail myself if my manager would've belittled me, embarrass me and yelling at me on the floor with customers that would've made me feel so worthless at my job and for her as a manager to think that's completely appropriate to do that on the floor in front of customers is completely disrespectful to the employees and the people shopping. If this manager wants to continue to have her title, she needs to learn how to talk to her employees. She should not have done that and ruining other peoples experiences while they're shopping and had a private conversation with them. I definitely won't be coming back here. read more

Employees have low customer service. The loss prevention employee that always seems to be in the mens polo section, is always walking around talking loud about things customers should not be hearing. Today, I was in the polo section trying to shop, and he was speaking w another employee about other employees. As I walked into an area of clothing that was closer to them, they got quiet as if I were interrupting them. I moved away to hope that they would be gone when I got back. When I returned they were still there making my shopping experience awkward. The lady yells at me, " do you need help or something because I keep seeing you walk back and forth?" I replied, "Im shopping." She then says it again, " I see you walking back and forth and needed to know if you needed help w a size because you look confused." Very disrespectful. And last, I brought a shirt to the register one day that was on sale for $20, the cashier told me it was $37, when I told her to look at the sale tag on it, she said, "someone must have put that there." I've been to this location twice and I figured I would give give a second chance before reviewing it. The thing that really lacks in this place is customer service. I was trying to buy a Lacoste top for my dad. My dad wears a size medium and let's keep in mind there was not a sale and it was a Saturday afternoon. They only had sizes 3XL-5XL. I tried to get a sales person to help me and that was a waste of time. I walked and walked to find 4 sales girls all talking in one corner. This is ridiculous for a Saturday afternoon. One of them was a manager so forget about complaining. Finally after seeing me watching them one of them walked over and gave me I guess some "help". All she said is "these are the only items we have for this brand but you can walk to the end and see if we can order it for you and maybe ship it for free" I doubt we have any in that size. She didn't bother pretending to check. Smh. What a waste of a salary... Don't do the curbside pickup here. No one picks up the phone and you'll be forced to enter. On top of that, because you had to waste time entering you'll end up paying the $3 parking garage fee because they take so long to process the people in front of you. Fragrance session of Macy's.....This section is horrible... stop hiding your prices and there will be no confusion. I asked a simple question... "how much is this?" I was told $112.00. Great! They even sold me on the freebie travel size cologne.. I thought it was a great deal..."Ring me up!" I'm then sent to another area to actually pay and the person who was there (not the same person I started with) rings up the purchase and says" That'll be $166.47" Excuse me? How did we get there from $112.00.... She then proceeds to find who told me that price after I made a bit of a fuss... once found, the associate apologizes and tells me she made a "mistake"... Now I'm getting frustrated and asked for a manager... She goes to get Anna, she comes back and states " My manager said there is nothing she could do for you about the price, the most we could do is give you some free samples". ---- Ok... now I'm appalled and insulted... First, Anna, did not value me enough as a customer to even come out and speak with me herself. Second, Samples?! Really?! I'm looking for a resolution, even if it's a small gesture toward the price... Samples are nice but that was not the answer here... had she come out and evaluated the situation herself, she would have seen that... I then told the associate, who was very nice and apologetic to go back and tell ANNA, that the customer would like to speak with a manager. The associate came back and stated ANNA would come see me, just give her a couple of minutes... I stood there for 15 minutes... Anna never came... Finally another manager, Frank, came out to speak with me. He was amazing and very professional in how he handled the situation... He did not give me the price I was told, but he did a lot better than offering me free samples. He and a few other associates there who were very lovely, still gave me the free samples as well. Frank relieves my frustration and I left happy. Anna could take some training from Frank...thank you Frank. Anna is not management material... sorry, but I managed a retail store for 8 years and I was happy to turn any unhappy customer into a happy one... I'm actually writing this review on behalf of my sister, who was doing a huge favor for me by bringing a pair of slacks back to the store from which they were purchased in order to have the alarm removed. They apparently left it on at checkout and we didn't realize it was left on until my son picked them out to wear to school. As soon as my sister got to the department store, obviously the alarm sounded and she immediately notified security as to why she needed assistance. Because the price tags were not attached, the guard could not assist her but called someone to help her with the issue. She also explained to the guard that the price tags were not attached because my son had previously tried on the pants on the day of purchase, and since they fit, they would not have been returned, so he removed the tags. She further explained that she was not wanting to return the item but to have the alarm be removed so the pants could be worn. She had the receipt of purchase, the Macy's bag it originally left the store in as well as the pair of slacks that did not have the price tags on them but fit the written description of the items purchased on said receipt. The person that came to assist my sister was hostile and rude. She was a burly woman, dressed in sweat pants and a hoodie (business attire?). She treated my sister as though she had stolen the pants. My sister showed the woman the receipt and she, in turn, asked my sister to show her where exactly in the store the pants were bought. The woman was acting VERY aggressive with my sister, walking behind her closely and trying to intimidate. When they got to the Men's department, where the pants were purchased, my sister asked the woman whether or not she was going to remove the security tag. She told her that, because the price tags were not attached, it was her decision if she would or wouldn't remove the tags. At this point, my sister had had enough of the unnecessary aggression, snatched the receipt and the pants from the woman and asked for a manager. The woman said that she WAS the manager. My sister got fed up and asked the nearest cashier to call for another manger. She also noticed that the woman's name was Aimee, as it was printed on her white name tag (Macy's manager name tags are RED). It turns out that the woman was NOT manager and we still don't understand why she lied. She was actually an employee from the Loss Prevention department and while my sister awaited for assistance from an actual manager, Aimee hightailed it out of there and ran off. When the real manager arrived, my sis told him exactly what had occurred. He apologized, removed the security tag and gave her $25 to use in any Macy's store, to make up for the unnecessary inconvenience. The problem with this incident is that it is far from uncommon. The store in the Bay Plaza Mall are employing rude and nasty people. We have both had issues in numerous stores in the area because the staff does not realize that the idea is to keep customers coming back. What's the point if you have the name of a good well-known company but no one wants to patronize YOUR particular location. This Aimee woman needs to be reprimanded and there needs to be some serious customer service training, mall-wide. They may want to employ secret shoppers in order to get a more accurate picture of how their staff operates. If that had been the case tonight, Aimee would be out of a job. Instead of trying to intimidate my sister based on an ill-informed assumption, she should have simply said she didn't have the authority to remove the security tag, and that she would be happy to see if someone else could help her and retrieve her superior. I would have to be in desperate need in order to shop at that location. Very shameful. read more

Seasonal employees are treated unfair and are doing all of the work. Some of the full time epmplyees stop doing their job and litterally depend on the seasonal staff to pick up and put all the clothes back. Some of the managers are very rude and they belittle you in front of others, mainly on the second floor. Seasonal staff is entitled to an extra 20 minute break but can never take it because the store is either too busy, one of the other sales associates is going home or its too late too take it. Whenever you say your entitled to it they get mad and make up every excuse in the book. Then you have a lot of the managers that are young, always on their phones, gossiping about others and are very lazy. Sometimes some of the managers will walk by without speaking. He knew exactly what he wanted and only needed help finding it. Straight up annoyance! Where do I start? 1. The worst customer service. Hands down. Asked sales associate for assistance finding the Ralph Lauren slacks. NO ONE knew where they were. Clearly they were not in the Ralph Lauren area. We asked if they can check if they had any. 1 guy said to the other associate, I'm going over there, can you look for it? The other one said, nah, I'm not looking for anything. I'm staying right here. REALLY?!!!?!?!!!!?! Finally the first one said ok I'll go but you are going to have to wait until I come back. 2. So disorganized!!! Nothing is in its place. This place is horrendous!! Time and time again I call and get the phone hung up in my ear. Let's also start with the fact the entire makeup staff is not knowledgeable of their products at all! You want makeup and facial advice head to Sephora. I have spent hundreds listening to lies and bad advice, especially from the "this is the product I use and it works for me" clerks. They are inexperienced liars!! Interestingly enough when I went back to the store to speak to a clerk who works in Clinique she completely forgot that she recommended me a product because she claimed to have used it and it magically worked for her, well when I asked her about the same product she had a whole other story to tell. The first and second level of this store is catered mostly to women with a section for men in the far end of the first level. The third level is dedicated to mostly bedding and kitchen appliances. Their bedding selection is poor, and unorganized. The kitchen appliance section is decent but should have more quantity. This place doesn't seem to be very fast paced. You'll be waiting awhile to get help from an employee as there doesn't seem to be that many at all. Most of their employees are working the vanity section on the first level from what I've noticed. When there isn't many customers (which is usually the case on most weekdays) the employees (however few there are) are scattered throughout. Great store for women looking for apparel. Not that great for men, nor anyone looking for kitchen or bedding. Overall, not that great of a store. On the employees: They're not around much, few in quantity, and are usually hidden and scattered throughout the store. From what I've noticed, they seem to be unbiased in terms of hiring a variety of ethnicities, but literally almost every employee here is female. I don't care for bias practices like that. That's not equal opportunity, especially with the amount of people looking for employment and Macy's being a very large scale brand that attracts many applicants. read more

Representative Soneya was unpleasant and not helpful. She originally told me there was nothing she could do to assist me with returning an item because I did not have the tags or receipt. She did not listen to what I was saying when I informed her that the receipt can be pulled up with the card the purchase was made with. After 15 minutes of telling me there was nothing she can do and me not moving from her register, she attempted to pull up the receipt with my card and it was successful. She was very helpful and patient. I didn't catch this woman's name but she was great. She flattered me by saying I needed a smaller size. It's obvious this isn't the best neighborhood and I've grown up here and in nearby Westchester. This review comes after going to stamford Macy's for a movado watch for my boyfriend where the woman was knowledgeable and respectable. I went to the Michael kors section as well as the movado section and as expected the staff was ghetto, rude and ignorant. Complete disregard for customers. One spanish girl in the Michael kors section with a bright green skirt (Macy's employers are supposed to wear all black) told me very rudely I had to wait. She looked annoyed and as soon as she finished she strutted right over to the makeup section and another woman took care of me while having a conversation with a different staff member the entire time. Even as I left there was no "thank you" "happy holidays" because she was too busy talking about makeup and how late they would be there till and how customers have to wait and can easily come back since they're open till 11. Someone needs to tell the young ghetto staff that the customer comes FIRST. I will never go back just because the service and staff is disgustingly rude. I'll be going back to stamford for my next movado. A better attitude will get you more customers ladies. read more

I find that too many of the workers in this particular store lack common sense and professionalism. Over the Christmas holiday, as I shopped for gifts, I was dismayed to see an employee from the jewelry department engage in a battle of words with a customer over nonsense. No managers in sight to crack down on that. In the plus size department, a cashier kept going on and on to a colleague about how unfairly she is treated and the colleague told her everyone thought she had a poor attitude. Ummm....hello.....TMI and you have a long line of customers to boot! Just yesterday I purchased a skillet and wanted to pay with a gift card. I'd neglected to remove the code from the back. The cashier did it for me, but I putted the wrong number. That an happen; we are all human. It took her almost 20 minutes to unravel the problem. Finally I suggested she simply cancel the transaction and start again. She replied what a good idea that was? Are you kidding me?! Does anyone think for themselves anymore, or problem solve, ar even understand professionalism?! I only shop here sparingly and because I have to; I won't recommend this location to anyone. read more
