Hard to believe this used to be the Loew's American movie theater that I so remember coming to in the mid 80s- where I'd rather see 'Opera' or 'Re-Animator' for $2 Mondays instead of heading home to do school work. This theater came with a long fight to keep it in the neighborhood. But things evolved. Located across the street from Macy's in Parkchester, this space has been a good addition to the area after the movie theater closed down, remained vacant for a while and retrofitted several years ago to what it is now. I like the TJ Maxx-Marshall's family- because I know I can nab some designerish items that don't come with an eye-watering price tag. Layout is tidy for the most part and kind of on the smaller side- but they make up for it with Activewear and other sections on the top floor. Despite the home section being smaller than what I'm used to seeing at other Marshall's, there's a nice selection of wicker baskets in a wide range of sizes, planters, the wood cutting boards, etc. Plus service, has been nice the few times I've been here. Things have shaped up from what this space looked like originally. And yes- I got sentimental when I reminisced about coming to the Loew's American and sneaking in to the next movie without paying. Probably the worst Marshalls in all nyc. One of the managers, don't know her name but she's big and has a gap in between her two front teeth, she's has a nasty attitude. The line is always full of customers and out of the 8 registers only 3 are open always. read more

This Marshalls has good items at great prices however the service is horrible. I went to the store today and waited in line for 30 minutes to get checked out. One of my items did not have a price. The cashier told me to step aside while she gets the price. In the meantime another customer after me also had an item without a price. She told her to wait as well. In the meantime the cashier got the price for my item. However, she checked out the other customer before me!!! She got the price for my item and told me the price but took the other customer before me!! This is so disrespectful and inconsiderate of my time. The cashiers number is either 1186 or 101260 4 3285. She didn't say sorry. On top of that while she was ringing me up she made an announcement on the mic to get people to sign up for the rewards card and just handed me my receipt. What she should do is focus on her customers. I dont have a rewards card, but she didn't ask me. She needs to get her priorities straight. I LEFT THE STORE WITH A FEELING OF DISGUST. SIMPLY HORRIBLE. This Marshall's is Elbert very very small. The lines are always long and I never really find anything good clothing wise. I can't come in here and find a nice dress or top in a pinch. But they are good for leggings. I find that I can come here and get a couple of food quality work out leggings and occasionally shirts. They also have nice quality shoes; though it's a rarity. I found a real cute pair of women's Sperry's and some men's Born boots in Marshall's for the low. So basically I go in once a month take a look and leave 90% of the time read more

This is one of the better marshals that I know that has two different floors great selection and decent prices. The service however is absolutely horrible and there's only one thing to blame is management and their cuts. I remember during Christmas on the 23rd and 24th the line was absolutely ridiculous and to see 50 to 40 people online with only two people at the register only goes to show you that management in their cuts to save money or doing absolutely no benefit to anyone in Parkchester. However I will give them an added plus for being dog friendly and service dog friendly and very friendly workers. read more

I visited Marshalls with mom we were doing some bonding while shopping for a dog bed, which we bought we spend a decent amount of money there: we bought candles and some glass arrangements.. The store was neat and tighty everything seemed like it was where it was suppose to be .. However when we went to check out a young lady named ravine was very nasty very pushy about getting Marshalls credit card when we told her clearly we were not interested she proceeded with her disgusting attitude when we asked her to wrap the glass figures up.she did not even wrap it for us she passed us the wrapping paper and we had to do it ourselves..I work in customer service and I get very good reviews on yelp.. I deal with tourists and regulars on a day to day bases in the city and her customer service sucked.. It was raining and she wouldn't even pack our half of our things... I wouldn't say I would not visit again but I will say maybe she needs to be trained on what customer service means! Rolling your eyes and making people do your job is not right.. I go above and beyond with my customers.. And I don't get paid much but it's what I get paid for .. There a lot of people out there that need jobs so maybe u guys should reconsider who I hire.. I went to this location to buy some shoes. I went over to a guy who was by the shoe area for a certain item. First I greeted him with a smile and said hello. He had a mug on his face from here to Rochester. He didn't want to help and just said that the shoes should be in their boxes but they weren't. I didn't waste my time with the idiot and left. read more

Although it replaced my favorite theater, I really like this location. It's clean and well organized.

In less than a month I returned a Jessica Simpson bag to Marshalls in Parkchester. I found my receipt and was within the 30 day refund/credit policy. This was the first time I had to bring a bag back which I liked and used as an alternative during the week. When the manager was summoned, I showed him where the lining became thin threads of fabric tearing from the inside near the zipper. He briefly examined the bag and stated it was "heavy used." Upon hearing his explanation I commented to the cashier that if he would have looked at the bag closely he would have seen that the fabric wasn't good quality. Eventhough I was given a store credit, the manager shouldn't assume that I abused the bag. For the record, the bags can like good quality from the outside but you never know if the inside is equal. read more

One of the best stores I've been to in this area. One of the best Marshalls I've ever been in. Most marshalls are dirty and look like a rummage sale. This one is clean and organized and very well stocked with really nice stuff. Kinda deceiving. You'd think you were in a way better store than a marshalls.
