Glad they have this relatively small TJ Maxx location within easy walking distance from my house - although it's only 1 floor, a basement level, with limited selection. Since it has less stock in each category compared to the larger Marshalls store one long block away, I end up here when not finding exactly what I want there. That being said, the staff has been very friendly, plus I never had an issue at this TJ Maxx with a long line wait like often happens at that Marshalls or the similarly nearby, horrendous, messy, understaffed (especially at checkout) Burlington. read more

This TJ Maxx has to be the worse one. I shop here occasionally because it is on route to and from my job. On more than one occasion, I have asked to use the bathroom, after making a purchase, and they abruptly told me that I cannot use the bathroom. When I ask why. The associate was rude and impolite. this happened more than once. I am taking my clothes back to the store today, and I will not be shopping here again. The way employees treat customers is disgusting. Blacks treating blacks like we are trash. Horrible experience. read more

I was in need of new workout clothing, and came here to see what they had to offer. This place sits along the busy 125th street in the Harlem area. The TJ Maxx sits on the basement level, while the Bed Bad and Beyond sits on the upper level of the building. A quick walk down the escalators will get you there. This TJ Maxx location has a decent selection. I was able to find several items to my liking, which is not always the case with every location. Aside from workout clothes, they also have an good selection of housewares, although I didn't need anything from this department at the time. The checkout didn't take long. Even when the line is long, it is never a long wait. The staff here is friendly and upbeat. I've always received good vibes from them. The next time I'm in need of clothing, I will consider this TJ Maxx location. read more

I came here on a Wednesday at about 12:30pm. I'm not sure why a TJ Maxx and a Marhsall's are so close to each other. They carry extremely similar products. Which makes sense since they are owned by the same parent company. It's really hard to find much of a difference. TJ Maxx has a fine jewelry section. That's the only difference I could find. Beauty products are same as other TJ Maxx locations, and Marshall's. I came here looking for the little silicone salad dressing bottles that I saw at the Columbus Circle location. They had other types, like the mini sauce bottles, the knick knack packs, and the salad dressing containers from Sistema. Since these are discount stores, I know it's difficult to have consistent inventory throughout all locations, as many things are limited stock, or only sold in select stores. But it would be nice if shopping was a little more predictable, and I could find the same products in all locations. read more

This place looked and felt more like a trift shop than it did a chain off stores in many countries. You go down a escalator and it just looks messy. Granted there were people trying to get it organized but there was clutter everywhere. The makeup and body section looked alright. It was easy to navigate around and if you know what you're looking for, you'll probably find it. The clothing literally looked like a thrift shop. They have definitely seen better days. It was just jam packed with old tattered looking merchandise and no sense of organization, structure or product management. There's so much product and not enough space to put. Be ready to get followed by security. My sister and I had two securities take turn following us in the store hoping we dont steal anything. One, that wasn't the case and two, no one would go out of their way to try and steal something from this store. read more

Sorry. This TJ Maxx is the worst TJ Maxx. What do we go there for, ladies? Dresses. Until maybe 2 months ago, there were ZERO dresses. Like, actually none. It was super weird. I live around the corner, so even though I've been disappointed in my visits, sometimes I check in to see if it's gotten better. And it has gotten a LITTLE better, but I think this location still doesn't understand its audience. We're a diverse neighborhood, full of young blue and white collar workers, and we need a diverse selection of clothing. We also need some goddamn DRESSES WTF. But anyway. Add some more shoes and bags too. It's a smaller location than most, and understaffed. I feel bad for the cashiers when I go there. I hope they will take some advice and staff up, and diversify their offerings in this awesome neighborhood. read more

All the staff are simply wonderful, but the clothes in that store are like dryrot! I discovered this store in January '21 and bought a lot of clothes (9 items) with my B'day cash, BUT, OMG, here we are in April and none of them are decent enough to wear! Either seams have opened up, or there is super-pilling of the fabric--I've never seen anything like it, and I've only worn these things 2 or 3 times. After washing a couple of times, they sort of fall apart... Otherwise, the housewares and gadgetry are good. Just stay away from the women's clothes...I don't know about the men's clothes. I pretty much agree with what other reviewers have said. Even though this is a brand new location, they just don't have the inventory that other TJ Maxx stores seem to. Clothing selection is very limited and not as many desirable brands. I came in looking for a basic job interview outfit and could barely find anything. Just a small rack of Calvin Klein sheath dresses and only one in my size out of the few they had. Worse than that, there was not a single women's blazer in the store! Tons of cheap yoga pants and ugly mumus though... I also went looking for a slip to put under a kind of see-through linen dress I'd bought elsewhere and they didn't have a single one. Just low-quality shapewear and a very picked-over selection. Disappointing because TJM is usually a slam-dunk for finding basic things like that. They do have a decent handbag selection (Kate Spade, Michael Kors,etc.) that I may try my luck with in the future. read more

This location is brand spanking new. My overall review of this location although they had lots of inventory in the way of clothing the location lacked lots of comforter sets, which was a bit shocking to me but the location is new and I honestly didn't see a place to add anymore inventory. I did see some very interesting finds. I am hoping I get a chance to visit in the upcoming weeks so I can update my review. I got a pretty umbrella and a cool notebook I'll post pictures later. read more

This store is a GEM. You can find absolutely everything you need, clothes, candles, beauty products for amazing prices. While I have a hard time finding my size, there's still plenty of other items I can quickly buy when I'm in a pinch. Lines can be a bit long and the staff isn't that enthusiastic but if I have a question, they can easily direct me to where I need to go. read more

This is a great TJ Maxx store in Harlem, located a few blocks from the 125th Street train station. The store is tiny, but it's well stocked. I always manage to find something every time I come to this store. The one downside to this store is that the lines can be long. There's usually 2 associates at the cash registers and it seems to take forever! I don't suggest going here if you're looking to be in and out quick! Other than that, if you have some time to spend, this TJ Maxx is worth checking out. read more

So I understand that we are trying to be careful during the pandemic, but you're not allowed to try on coats or jackets on the sales floor? The "manager" Jazz (no name tag worn) told me that they are supposed to have announcements to that effect. Was excited to hear a TJ Maxx was coming to Harlem, but disappointingly, this is a small and not well stocked one, though I have found an item here and there.
