If I could give my experience at David's bridal a zero I would! This was the worst shopping experience of my life and it should've been the best! The girl who "helped us" if that's what you would call it disappeared on us more times than she helped us! She did not put any effort in showing us any dresses even after I explained to her what I was looking for! She was rude and unprofessional! As it became apparent that I was not going to find what I was looking for I explained that to the associate and she literally just walked away from our group. We didn't even get an "I'm sorry you couldn't find what you were looking for... if you would like to schedule another appointment to try something different... or even good luck with your search I hope you find what your looking for!" From this horrific sales associate! I was shopping for myself (bride), two bridesmaids and a junior bridesmaid, two flower girls, mother of the bride and mother of the groom! We were all highly disappointed with our experience today! Hopefully you all will take your business elsewhere as we will! read more

I came here to find a bridesmaid dress their were two women who helped me and were friendly super helpful but the rest was awful first off my friends wedding is a week from the day I went to look. I had several dresses I picked none of which were my size and needed to be altered. So that's when both I was brought to the alterations side of the store and they asked me when the wedding was I said one week they all laughed and scoffed so rudely in my face so I kind of said okay and walked away to confide in my friend they didn't know I had left and was literally right behind the curtain and they started shit talking me like saying awful things like she shouldn't even be in the wedding or she can't handle it or did she think it was that easy to just walk in and find a dress and they all laughed and I do not kid nor make this up word for word that is what was said. Again I found a dress and all I wanted was a quote and she said NO and I said excuse me I just want to know how MUCH it is to get this altered.. they are not the only ones who do alterations. Just wanted an estimate to take to my local tailor. This was so unprofessional and also really awful to hear from grown women this is very very disappointing and basically 8/10 of the women working here had god awful attitudes like I get that you hate your job and life then maybe being positive in a place such as a bridal place isn't the place for them?? To answer yes it is that easy just not here. it's the 21st century there's something called ASOS and 1 day shipping. read more

I went into the store on Rt 4 in Paramus,nj with my daughter to purchase a bridesmaid's dress for her. We didnt have an appointment, nor did we know we needed one for a bridesmaid dress.... and after a short wait, we were helped by Rosie...she, was wonderful... However, the store is a messy, and understaffed.....with the unfriendliest store manager I have EVER encountered... had it not been for the fact that the bride chose a specific dress from David's , I see no reason to ever shop at this store... read more

I visited David's Bridal in Paramus with my daughter today to pick out a communion dress. We were so impressed with the broad range of styles and choices. We met the most helpful, friendly sales person there named Jocylin. She couldn't have been more friendly and when my daughter zoned in on her favorite dress - Jocylin gave a warm high five to my daughter. Everyone in this shop is beyond helpful and I am delighted that we waited to see one final store before finding the perfect dress at David's Bridal. Thank you Jocylin for all your help. Sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly and thank you for being so kind and patient with Sophie Barbara and Sophie read more

I had my very first wedding gown appointment here yesterday and Steph B. was WONDERFUL with everything. I voiced my concerns and feelings right from the beginning and she made me feel comfortable, didn't pressure me with anything at all. I came with 4 style numbers of dresses I had seen online and I tried 2 others off mannequins while I was at the store. Steph had no problem pulling these dresses off the rack and bringing each to me to try on. She was honest and very kind with her opinions of how dresses looked on me. When I told her I was shy, she offered to bring me a slip so when I changed I wouldn't be stark naked in front of her. I ended up picking my wedding dress after trying 6 dresses on (the one I picked was the 4th I tried). I was between 2 dresses, so Steph suggested I try each one on again before I make the final decision. When it was decided by me and my family (mom, sister, my MOH and brother, my man of honr) she could not have been more excited for me! Steph remembered that I was shy and didn't want a lot of attention on me, so she told me about the tradition of ringing the bell when I said "yes to the dress" and took me in a back area so I wouldn't have a bunch of people staring at me and clapping (don't get me wrong, it's nice that I had cheers and clapping, but I am so shy that I couldn't even appreciate it until later!) At the end of the visit I felt like I could have taken Steph home! She hugged me a bunch of times and it was a wonderful feeling to know that my consultant was just as excited for me as if she were part of my family! I had a GREAT experience at this location with Steph B. and I highly recommend that you request her for your appointment. read more

Soooo I had an amazing time picking out my dress or I should say having Antwann picking out my dress. This was my fourth time trying on dresses. Every visit I had my picks but never left the stores with a dress. On this day I had my mother, sister and best friend with me. As we were walking in my mom said "you better buy your dress today" no pressure here right lol... get to the store and they couldn't find my name only to realize I came a day late. Not only did they keep me on the schedule for this day they gave me the best consultant ever, Antwann. I gave him my list and he went to work. Most of my dresses were not in stock. He also had his picks for me to try on. The dress I finally decided on was not only picked by him but everything I didn't think would look right on me. He did an amazing job and can't wait to see him for my bridesmaid dresses and my mother of the bride dress. read more

I had a fantastic experience yesterday! I called the Paramus location in search of the Vera wang 2 tier cathedral veil. From my search online and trying to order through the website it seemed like this was going to be a hard item to find. Joscelyn answered the phone when o called and found only one in the store, the floor sample which was damaged. She promptly located additional locations and provided me with the quantities at each so I may call and place an order. We came to the conclusion it would be a good to stop at the store to see it in person. Upon my arrival I was greeted with excitement by Joscelyn who walked me upstairs to try the veil! I explained I already purchased a dress that was not through them and asked if she would mind terribly if I tried something on similar with the veil. She was more than happy to help me! I ordered the veil through the store and cannot thank them enough for the hospitality and level of service I received. Thank you so much!! read more

Amazing experience and all thanks to Cassandra!! With Cassandra's help my best friend Rang the Bell and purchased her dress and this was her first appointment we had gone to. We were there on Saturday and she canceled her appointment with Kleinfield which would have been Monday, only two days later. Not only did the bride get her dream dress but we are also returning on the 31st to get the bridesmaids dresses and we have already requested Cassandra. Once again thank you so much Cassandra you really made this experience everything we wanted and more!!! read more

You are who you are, be careful who you think you are. This is our mantra for life. Most people think beauty is made up of physical attributes, a pretty face, gorgeous hair, an expensive stylish wardrobe. True beauty is much more than that. It's gracious behavior, awareness of others feelings, generosity and self esteem without conceit. Our wonderful David's Bridal wedding consultant Antwann explained that as a bride you will spend a lot of time in front of the mirror, trying on wedding gowns, hair and make up previews and selecting all types of clothes for your day in the limelight. Antwann told us it will be tons of fun and nerve wrecking at times but that's okay! Some brides are self critical and some are a bit big headed. He told us to maintain the even keel we are currently enjoying and to remember the old saying, "Beauty is as beauty does"! As the mother of the bride I have been dreaming of this day far longer than my daughter has. Antwann is an enlightened stylist who was able to draw on my daughters own personal definition of beauty, cultivated and nurtured it. We love you Antwann, thank you for all you do and the best of luck in your bright career. Did I mention she said yes to the dress and it is exquisite! read more

I was in on Thursday April 2, 2015 with a friend . We were both looking for long dresses for formal occasions we have coming up. We were helped by an excellent sales person by the name of Serene. She was absolutely the most helpful and enthusiastic person on the floor. She was not only able to help find me a dress, but was encouraging and kind. She absolutely lit up the room. She is exactly the type of person I would hope to see on the bridal floor when I (hopefully soon !) try on wedding dresses! I recommend this store to everyone, ESPECIALLY if serene is working! read more

I'm so surprised to see all of the negative comments and ratings for this David's Bridal. My experience was the total opposite. I actually only came to look at dresses thinking I wouldn't find what I liked, but to my surprise I left with a beautiful gown. When I and my family arrived we were greeted by a friendly receptionist, who welcomed us and called for our Bridal stylist, Thea. Thea, was a breath of fresh air although I was very skeptical at first. I just knew she would find anything I liked...but to my surprise she brought out not one but TWO dresses I absolutely loved. She was extremely patient as tried on both of the gowns she selected. I tried on both dresses at least 4 times each before making my decision. At the end of my purchase she escorted my family and I to the reception area and gave as a small goody bag (filled with coupons). On the way out she held her arms out to hug me and wish we luck...now for all those that know me, know that I do not hug strangers. But after Thea helping me select the perfect dress for my perfect day how could I not help her. Thank you Thea for all of your help. Can't wait to come in to pick up my dress and come in for alterations. Can't wait for the big day!! read more

I came in here one day while my maid of honor was visiting from out of town. The girl up front was VERY rude to us and quickly informed us that we could shop for bridesmaids dresses but that wedding dresses were by appointment only. She also said someone would come help us. Well, no one did. There were several sales associates just standing around. When I asked her if I can just peek at the wedding dresses, she flat out said no. Honestly, to keep my business, all she should have said was, "This isn't our policy but I would love to make an appointment for you." Guess what David's Bridal, I won't give you my money. Maybe you think I'm poor and I can't afford a nice dress. But you're wrong. I won't go back here again. read more

I came into David's Bridal with my mother for a wedding dress on Monday, September 14th, and it was a wonderful experience. I had made an appointment the week before and when we arrived we were seen by the assigned stylist right away. It was not busy at all when we went (Monday at around lunchtime) and the stylist was able to give me a lot of attention! I went in not knowing what I wanted. I had used the David's Bridal app to pick out some "favorites" but I really had no idea. The stylist assigned to me, Alicia L., picked out some dresses that were in my "favorites" or similar to those in my favorites. They were all beautiful. While I tried on dresses, the manager was able to find one of my "favorited" dresses in the clearance section. We ended up buying that one right away! It was so nice of them to go on the hunt for it for me! I had an excellent experience. Shout out to Alicia L. for being so helpful and answering all of our questions :) read more

Alicia L or "allie" as she likes to be called was very professional, had a great smile and made it all happen with great ease...I went back twice because the first time I didnt like my dress and felt rushed not by Allie at all but the place was packed. I went to this location this past Saturday (February 27th). I wasn't aware that I needed an appointment to try on wedding dresses (totally my fault) however, the woman at the front desk was incredibly understanding and kind and fit me in as soon as she could. Once the time came, I was introduced to Alicia LaBruna (Allie) who was to help me find my wedding dress. This young lady was not only kind and sweet but truly cared about finding the closet thing to my dream dress as possible. I had a few pictures and ideas of what I wanted and although their inventory did not match any of the ideas I originally had, Allie was able to find a dress that was even better than what I originally thought I wanted. She continued to bring me dress after dress so we could see what fit best with my anatomy and style of which I wanted (our wedding is planned to be very simple so I wanted my dress to go along the lines of simple as well.) Not only did she give me the opportunity to see what I did and did not want, she found the perfect dress for me. I would have never thought of or liked this dress had I not seen it in person or tried it on but once I put that dress on, I fell in love. It felt and looked like it was made just for me and it made me feel even more excited for my wedding. Allie's customer service skills are above standard and she deserves the recognition for not only being a sweetheart but for also asking all of the appropriate questions and willing to go above and beyond for her clients with pleasure. I would and definitely will recommend her to any ladies that are in the need for dresses for any occasion and I can honestly say that I look forward to my future appointments (fittings and such) where I will need her assistance. Thank you Allie for making not only my day but for helping me choose one of the most important parts of my wedding! read more

I came to the David's Bridal Paramus store because the mall was a definite miss for me especially being a plus size chica. I went to a different David's Bridal about 2 years ago when I was the maid of honor for my sisters wedding and I liked the styles they had for plus size ladies. Needless to say, it was a great service, great styles and the alterations were made to fit me perfectly and my body type. Thanks guys! read more

Excellent experience finding a bridesmaid dress! Thank you for making it stress free!

This review is based on the level of service I received from bridal consultant Yasmein -- I came in having already purchased a dress from this location and paid for it in full (didnt like the way I looked in the dress after seeing myself in a photograph of it while trying on) Since I couldn't get a refund for the 1st dress (I begged and pleaded for the refund/exchange mind you) I was back at square one... Yasmein helped me narrow down the shape/cut of the dress that looked best for my body during a 2nd consultation, but due to the store hours I had to reschedule for a 3rd visit. Needless to say, I felt super deflated and hopeless. Yasmein reassured me that she would work with me to find my perfect dress... On my 3rd visit/consultation I was met with a huge smile and a hug from Yasmein and a few selections of dresses (some of which I showed her and some of her own recommendations.) One by one, she assisted me with and explained each feature... She brought one final dress that had just arrived that day and I tried on. IT WAS MY DRESS.. I couldnt be more happy with the dress and I wouldn't have even tried it on if it weren't for Yasmein's recommendation. Yasmein had the patience and demeanor of a saint...her knowledge and customer service is unmatched! I appreciate everything she's done to help me. Though I have a brand new dress still sitting in a box (that I cant return) -- I'm grateful for Yasmein's patience and assistance at this location. Yasmein you're the greatest :) read more

I made an appointment for 2pm and i had to change it to 1pm the day of (and it was a Saturday!) and whoever was on the phone was so accommodating! When we walked in, we were greeted by Felicia who was wonderful from beginning to end! I had terrible experience at the Middletown NY store previously. They didn't even put me in their system. Felicia tried her hardest to find me but had to put me in as a new bride. She is just so sweet. Then she introduced me to TY. WE LOVE TY. He has so much knowledge on body shaped and what dress would look best. He made us feel so comfortable and made our experience great! I found the dress that I would like to purchase but unfortunately couldn't buy it that day because my mom wanted to be there with me. So I made another appointment with him. I had the WORST experience here. I was rushed and felt pressured the whole time. The attendant was rude and snarky to my family. Instead of trying to help me find a dress she tried to pressure me into buying the FIRST dress I tried on even though I didn't like it. Then she tried to pressure me into every dress after that. She was visibly angry that I wanted to try more than on dress or that my family asked to see a different veil on me. It was just horrible to feel pressured to buy something as soon as I tried on the first gown. Then we went to the bridesmaids appt downstairs and that attendant was fine... she was polite but she was very uninterested and didn't offer any advice or anything. She gave use some dresses and kind of just left us there until we found her to ask a question which was horrible but it wasn't great either. read more

My dress buying experience was positive overall. I made an appointment, which is a must, and my consultant was helpful if not entirely knowledgeable (I think she was new, but she made a real effort and was very sweet). She listed to what I wanted, and 3 dresses later, found me just that. She also let me try on my dress with a corset which they had in my size. I didn't want to buy it, though, and they didn't push it. The manager, however, stopped by and was very pushy, trying to find me shoes, underwear, and accessories which I did not want. My wedding was about a year away and I wanted to take my time finding unique shoes and jewelry, not something mass produced. The dress was on sale, which was great because I wanted to put a good deal of money into alterations. Here is where it all goes downhill. Alterations was a mixed bag. The alterations manager added custom sleeves to my dress and was very nice. The other women, however, seem to have a bad attitude. TWICE I made the trip from Queens to my home state of NJ to get to my alterations appointments, which I made usually weeks if not months in advance to find that the dress had not been worked on AT ALL. This meant spending money and time on transportation, only to have made the trip for nothing. They were never apologetic. Now, my wedding is less than a month away and I get a call letting me know they need to push my appointment, scheduled a month ago for today, to next week. Lesson learned: Buying at David's Bridal is OK, not glamorous, but fine, but take your dress elsewhere to have it altered. I only hope my dress is done in time and that the workmanship on the alterations is of decent quality. I give alterations 0 stars, but I give my overall experience 2. ***As a side note, my two bridesmaids had positive experiences buying their dresses. Although the sales women were not helpful at all, we found what we wanted on the rack (again, we had an appointment but they were busy) and they fit! read more

Wow!!!! SO after a HORRIBLE FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE IN TOTOWA I MEAN HORRIBLE!!! I was so happy and pleased from the moment i walked in this Paramus location. Stephanie P. (I think) was amazing . I had previously called and gave her my horrible experience story and my GOD. She made sure that every moment in that store was amazing. She was sweet helpful, attentive not your typical sales person at all. she interacted with my family there, She laughed and made every moment and dollar worth while. I am the matron of honor in a wedding this fall and we got our dresses from here. I called and scheduled an appointment to get it altered. Easy. I called a few weeks later to cancel this appointment because I had to attend a funeral. The woman told me I never made an appointment. So I said thats fine lets just make a new one and I got a new appt for the following Tues. That weekend I got a call to confirm my appt THAT THEY SAID I NEVER MADE. I explained the mix up and that was that. Then I was called again asking if I could change the time of my new appt. Sure, fine. Then I get called to confirm my appt at the WRONG TIME. THEY CALLED ME TO SWITCH THE TIME THEN CONFIRMED A DIFFERENT TIME. After this call, I asked to speak to a manager who rushed me off the phone without apologizing. I'm pretty sure she did not believe me. (Why lie?) After this call with the manager, I get 2 more calls from David's by 2 different people to confirm YET AGAIN. Hopefully their sewing skills are better than their appointment making skills. SO UNORGANIZED! So frustrating!!! I would recommend any bride NOT do business with them. I am telling everyone I know who is getting engaged. OR buy the dresses there and get them altered elsewhere. That is what I will do if my alteration appt does not go well. read more

The alterations department, with the exception of Melahat, is absolutely, positively atrocious. I purchased my wedding dress (wedding is 6/25/16). I went for my first fitting where Francesca pinned me, and when I went to try on the dress after initial alterations, everything was lopsided and messy. Threads were sticking out under the belt that they attached, and the bustle didn't attach properly or lay right. Luckily, this is the point where I met Melahat and she repinned everything for me. The alterations that SHE did came out fine, but unfortunately, she didn't do them all. When I went to try on my dress at the final fitting, it was an absolute MESS! I had requested a sweetheart top for the dress, but it was cut in more a rounded C-shape that was sloppy, uneven, and entirely too low on one side. The belt was sewn on lopsided, and the pleats were a twisted wrinkled mess. When I expressed to Francesca how upset I was with the dress, she completely dismissed my concerns, and said that the dress looked the way it was supposed to and that I should just take it as is. When I insisted that the dress couldn't possibly have been steamed and pressed, she just walked away from me. I had to continue to push her to speak with Melahat, who came out to see me and agreed to help with the dress. She again, repinned me, fixed the top of the dress, fixed the belt, and steamed the dress. The alterations department is a mess. Melahat is the only seamstress there who is honest and knows what she is doing. In my opinion, this leads to her being overworked. She genuinely did her best to fix the errors that other women in her department made and she did it without throwing them under the bus even though they were TERRIBLE. Thank God for Melahat and Shame on YOU Francesca. :( read more

In April, my daughter went to David's Bridal in Paramus for the dress she is to wear as a bridesmaid on July 16th. After the dress was chosen and the alterations that were needed were noted, she asked if she a) needed to leave a deposit or b) pay for the dress in full. She was told that payment is expected when the dress arrives and she picks it up. Today, June 30th, she called the store because she had not heard if her dress had arrived and when she can go in to pick it up. She was told that her dress was not ordered because she had not paid for it. She told them what had been relayed to her back in April. Needless to say she had to place the order today and was told that in order for her to get it in time, she would have to have it rushed delivered. She indicated that she shouldn't have to pay for rush since the error was not on her part and was given the reasoning that since the bride was having all the dresses purchased at that location, she was given a $20 discount on each dress so paying for the rush charge would even it out. My daughter then asked when she could go in for alterations once the dress arrives, again, the wedding is on July 16th! She was told that they didn't have anything available until August. You would think that taking into consideration the blunder which they caused, they would rush to accommodate in giving her an appointment no later than the middle of next week! I am getting married October 26th, 2018. My mother and I went to this location this past Saturday at 4:50pm knowing that the store was closing at 6pm. As we entered the dark, dingy store we were immediately stopped by what acted to be a security guard but was actually an employee. She asked why we were there, and I told her that I was getting married and wanted to look at the dresses. With that she was adamant about not allowing us to look as it was by appointment only. We let her know that we just wanted to look and understood that the store was due to close in an hour and that if in fact we found something of interest, we'd be more than happy to make an appointment for a fitting. She declined but told us that if it were for a bridesmaid dress or evening dress, we could come in. I asked the question, if that's the case then can I go look around. Confused, she said yes but only downstairs. We were there all of 5 minutes only to find dresses that resembled garbage bags. I had been to that store years ago and there was never an appointment only policy. Being that the company has since changed, which mind you is fine, I was extremely disappointed, borderline disgusted as to how we were treated. This is supposed to be one of the happiest times in a woman's life, and to be basically turned away, rudely, was extremely poor customer service. read more

Well, so you know how people say that like olive garden is the commercialized, much crappier version of an Italian restaurant? Well, David's Bridal is that commercialized crappy version of a bridal gown store. I have been her twice and both times I have wanted to shoot myself. There is always a lot of people here, most likely because it's cheaper then a traditional boutique bridal store, or say a mom and pop bridal store, hence the annoying amount of cheap people who go here. I swear to god the clientele are like animals.... Both times I went people were ransacking the racks in search of the perfect "wedding gown" or "bridesmaids dress". The dressing rooms always seemed dirty and the clerks were not all that helpful. I also did not like too many styles of bridesmaid dresses. They just seemed kind of, well, outdated. I was looking around at some wedding gowns as well, and they just seemed poorly made. Not sure what the deal is at this place but I don't think I will be needing anything from there in the near future. read more

Never again. I had the worst experience at this location. I visited this location twice. My initial visit was amazing, however, I was unable to book my appointment with the same consultant. So, I had family from out of town to have this experience of "Saying YES to the dress". Upon our arrival, our consultant, Thea, was very cold. We told her that we already had several dresses in mind that we had tried on and loved and specifically wanted these dresses to show the people from out of town to finalize our decision. (It was a total of 3 dresses) They said they could not bring up the dresses we had saved to my account. That was fine, we took plenty of pictures. She told us that all of the three dresses were no longer in stock and were discontinued. The space between our visits to this location were only about 2-3 weeks apart and we found her responses to our questions rather puzzling. Needless to say, my bridesmaids began searching for the dresses and found all three of them. While my bridesmaids searched she pulled dress after dress not listening to my wants or desires for the dress. Each time I entered the fitting room she was very short with me " Arms over your head and turn around." I attempted to initiate conversation multiple times but she was just cold. The other response I received from her was "Do not let the ladies pull any dresses." I began crying because i was frustrated and overwhelmed with anger because this experience with this consultant was so horrible. The previous consultant was also helping a bride and we begged her to help our consultant but she said that she was unable to do that. Long story short, my maid of honor told the consultant to pull a dress she found, I tried it on and fell in love. This consultant did not do ANYTHING. When I purchased the dress I called corporate and reported my experience. I will never come back to this location again. I feel that this experience occurred because we were African American. She pulled "cheap" dresses and provided service that was mediocre at best. We refused to give the sale to her and demanded that the other consultant (I believe Marlene) get all of the credit for the dress. This ordeal occurred during August and I am still angry and annoyed with the service I received. read more

I went here to look for my wedding dress. Booking was simple and they followed up to confirm. The woman who welcomed us was super sweet and the only reason I have 2 stars. The woman who was supposed to help me find a dress or h87terrible. Literally told her the 2 things I absolutely had to have in my dress and 1 I hated and she picked every single dress with what I said I didn't want. She didn't really help us we ended up digging through dresses alone. Her suggestion to me when I told her I was upset she wasn't really helping was to reschedule and come back next week. I wouldn't really recommend this place unless you seen a dress you know you love and they have it. read more

Short version of the whole story if you feel lazy to read: Rude, unprofessional, un-knowledgable, & very pushy staff. David's Bridal is NOT about making your bridal experience fun and wonderful they'll make it awful and unpleasant. DO NOT spend money there unless you have a product in your hand, they will not refund your money if you put anything on hold, they will not try to help you, & they'll always try to make you spend money you don't need to spend at all. I write reviews when I'm either very pleased, or very very disturbed, obviously this time I'm not so pleased... This store made my experience beyond awful...they don't care about the special moment the bride should be having, they don't care about gaining a customer for the future, they don't care about anything but ripping you off & taking your money. Because I'm very unlucky, David's Bridal Paramus was the first store I visited to find my wedding dress. First time trying on a wedding dress, first time my mom sees me in as a bride, lots of emotions and crying, one thing led to another & I rang the bell believing that this dress is kinda the ONE but I'm gonna keep it on hold for a small fee & if I found another dress elsewhere I could get the money back no problem, that's what the stylist told me we can do...but turns out they never taught her anything about store policies before they make her work as a stylist in a pretty important department, so after she asked her supervisor turns out that this could not happen, however, if we want to hold it we have to put it on layaway with a 10% or something fee & we can buy it with the sale price of that day afterwards or if we don't want it anymore we exchange it but with the full amount ($600) (oh yea they don't give money back only exchange). Of course we said that's absurd we wouldn't be stuck with $600 which is a lot of money for basically not having anything to buy yet, specially that I just need like a week to come back and decide, I said..so the very pushy supervisor convinced us to put it on layaway with a promise to exchange just the amount we payed, she said that the dress is on sale till today only & it's almost gone, they're not making anymore...bla bla, & she took advantage of the emotional moments me & my mom had, she even made us pay a percentage for the veil saying the same things, so we payed $220 for the dress and the veil...I discovered after I went home that in the receipt about $87 would be deducted if I decided I don't want to exchange, of course she didn't highlight that in the store. Anyway I returned back a week or 8 days after and neither the stylist or the supervisor were there that day, but anyway I told a manager there I wanna do the exchange for some stuff from the store but I didn't have like a list I was just gonna shop few things at a time thinking I'm getting like store credit or gift card I could use online or in store, but she told me I had to get everything all at once since they don't have that option, I asked if I could get stuff from the store & they order me other things online? she said of-course we can...so I left to return back again with a list. Returned back about 3 weeks later (since I got a life and don't have that much time on my hand to return earlier) & found there the rude pushy supervisor who didn't even remember me, so I went to her & told her I wanna exchange she said ok and she runs the receipt on the computer and tells me that I gotta exchange with the full amount ($800)!! you can imagine how any normal person would answer her, but I politely just raised my voice a little, I told her what I was promised from her & that they just wanna rip people off, she goes "you don't have to yell" trying to shut me up so nobody hears how manipulative they are, when she finally remembered me she told me "but you were suppose to come a week later"I told her that I DID, & told her what happened when I came back & anyway the receipt says i have 60 DAYS to buy or exchange not a week, then she went & talked to her manager -she may have thought I'm stupid & that I would just pay $800 & not think there's another option or something? I seriously don't know what she was thinking)- she returned back saying ok we can do it...she said I can't buy anything online because she doesn't have that option on the computer (again another proof that nobody knows anything there) she was very rude just throwing the things I got in the bags and didn't even look at me. I just got the stuff & left. To sum it up...this is by far the worst experience I ever had in any store, I get better treatment at McDonald's! P.S. I still have the bridesmaids dresses, my shoes, & some accessories to buy and I was going to buy it all from David's Bridal..not anymore of course..they got $220 but lost more than $700 overall...they really need new selling strategies other than pushing the customers and taking advantage of them! read more

Horrible experience!!!! I bought my dress from the Paramus NJ store, and my bridesmaids are having trouble getting theirs because someone at the NJ store changed my wedding date from August to October which delayed the shipments. I call the store 3 times and got hung up by 2 times, finally the store manager picked up and blamed my bridesmaids for everything and no apology, and decided to talk over me the entire time. I am 2 months away from my wedding, and now I have to find my bridesmaids dresses else where and have no time for the girls to alter them either. I will absolutely NOT shop here again, and advise all people to stay away!!!!!! read more

All of the reviews seem accurate, especially the filtered ones. My experience here made me sick. It was a hard time for me. The wedding I was attending was cancelled and I called to see what my options were. The girl on the phone said to bring in the dress before the scheduled wedding date and I could exchange the dress. That sounded great to me. I drove to Paramus a few days before the scheduled wedding date and I was told to speak to a manager. I explained everything to her as she was paying a delivery man for her food and started walking away saying she can't do anything for me because I purchased it too long ago. I would've came immediately after the wedding was cancelled if I wasn't told I could come in to exchange it anytime before the scheduled wedding date!!! She was an older female manager with black hair and disgusting personality. And I couldn't get her to talk to me after that. I did get to exchange my dress after I got corporate involved. I think employees should really go over store policies so they don't confuse customers. Most importantly, you should replace that manager because she didn't even treat me like a person and didn't seem to care about anything but her food. She is not helping make business but chasing people away. I have a lot of weddings coming up and I will not be spending my money here. read more

I went into David's Bridal a couple of months ago to look at wedding dresses. I had no idea that I would actually find what I was looking for on my first visit and at the first store I looked at. Looking online, I heard one horror story after another about local bridal boutiques but DB had good reviews so I checked it out. I am so glad I did! Nancy was my salesgirl for buying my dress and she is the BEST! I loved her. She was super fun and helpful and really listened to what I had to say. She wasn't afraid to push a little and get me just slightly out of my comfort zone. I needed that and I think she realized it early on. The store was quite busy as it was a Saturday but I found my dress and rang the bell! The dress they had in stock was not quite right so I had to order it. No problem. I worried for nothing as it came in weeks before the estimated delivery date. I got back in there quickly and got my dress altered and bustled. The price for both was fair and reasonable. Adele (in alterations) is the best. Super sweet, attentive and an asset to the store. She handled my alterations for the most part along with another woman whose name I didn't get. She was also great. Overall, my experience was amazing and I would recommend this store and these two women (Nancy and Adele) to anyone shopping for a wedding dress. Never will you feel more appreciated and cared for than you will under their care. :) read more
