The worst part about this place is the reception desk. I came in and the girls in the front weren't friendly at all. I also had to wait a good 15-20 minutes before my consultant called me to go upstairs. However, after Rose got me, the experience got better. Rose was very helpful in offering her opinions and advice. The dresses are also priced reasonably and are beautiful. read more

Ok, I did not get my dress here, but we got the bridesmaids' dresses here, and there were positives as well as negatives. We did separates because I had looked online and had found that separates would look great and would perhaps be reusable, and girls could wear slightly different tops, but the same skirt. The major positives were the separates that could be ordered to flatter different types, the variety of colors/sashes and shoes, and the convenience of having stores all over the U.S. I had people from the bridal party who live in Minnesota, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, NJ and more. Each girl got her dress and it all looked fabulous. The negatives are that their stores do cheapen the experience, sometimes the outfits cost more than they are worth, the stores often do not have the size or color that you want, and it's a bit of a herd situation with how crowded it can get. Is it a good store? Sure, but you've got to be ready for it. So put your big girl pants on before you go. read more

My bridesmaids dress is beautiful. The workers are extremely rude. Not only did they treat me like I was shopping at the dollar store but they also treated the BRIDE like crap. We will never ever shop here ever again. read more

The other day I went to David's to try on wedding dresses for the first time. I had the pleasure of being helped by Sharlyn. She was very helpful, accommodating and very patient (especially with my family who wanted me to try on their choices for wedding gowns). Sharlyn made the whole experience wonderful and made me feel a lot less stressed due to the mini convos we had between switching dresses. When I go back I will definitely be making my appointment again with Sharlyn. All the dresses were also beautiful! Thanks Sharlyn!! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. This place in completely unprofessional and the management is terrible. I loved a dress for my bridesmaids so I purchased them even though this place is horrible. The sales women was defiantly not sober sorry to say. We switched sales associates through a manager and she failed to tell our lady she was switching so the whole time she thought someone was trying to steal her sale. She mentioned she was on commission as well... this couldn't have gone worse. She promised a coupon the manager refused to honor it then finally did with a huge attitude. Finally I gave her my address for all the dresses to me shipped to my house when they came in and now I keep getting calls and emails telling me to have my bridesmaids come pick up the dresses. This is the most incompetent place I have ever experienced. By the way I found this exact dress at so many other stores that were way cheaper. Avoid this place !! read more

I have to say that this industry has gotten out of control. The sales people here have mastered the art of "shaming" women into a dress that is out of their price range. I went in here communicating that I did not want to go above $400 or so.. Ideally they have dresses online for $100 to $150 that are beautiful but conveniently they do not have them in the store to view..... however they will take you "upstairs" and then beware, you are told that you "deserve" better, to have this dress or that dress and it is only $699 of course or this other dress that is only $950 that does not include anything, like alterations etc. "This is your once in a lifetime event" "Don't you want to feel pretty?" "don't you want to be beautiful on your special day?" the list goes on to make the bride feel like they need more.... they deserve more.... they want more...... DO NOT BUY into it. I realize this is a special day, that is a given. Of course it is....But having the salesperson shove dresses at you that are above your desired budget is shameful and horrendous. Because you WILL fall in love with the more expensive dress....of course you will. That is exactly what they want. Please stay away from this place, go online and have a custom dress made for you by your measurements. I did and it was only $125 and just as beautiful as the thousand dollar one they tried to shove at me and make me feel guilty and inadequate for not buying. Shame on you people at David's bridal. Do not shop here....Unless of course you have money to burn and don't care then by all means shop here and flush your money away............personally a thousand dollars could go towards a great honeymoon or a number of things just sayin..... too bad I had to give one star as they do not even deserve that! read more

My biggest draw to David's Bridal was their availability to make Saturday appointments without having to wait 2+ months like the boutique stores. I didn't have much time to find a dress and didn't know what kind of shape/style of dress to get either. B'anne was so sweet and helpful. She helped me try on (and re-try on) several dresses until I found the one. She really listened to what I wanted in a dress (and even more importantly what I didn't want in a dress) and was able to point out what worked well on my body. After ordering, the dress should arrive within 5 weeks, which is sufficient time to hem and alter. Yeah you're not going to get a couture gown here but you also won't have to pay couture prices for 1 time use dress. If there was one thing to change, it would be a larger selection of dresses in the style I eventually decided on. But overall, no complaints, service, price and experience was positive. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!! That is really the only word I can even use to describe the service i received and how i was treated. Let me start by saying that I ended my bridal gown shopping experience...crying! I had a 7:30pm appointment and arrived right on time. I was told that my attendant, sheila, would be right with me. I sat waiting for 30 minutes while sheila did who knows what. When i was finally brought upstairs i was made to wait another 15 minutes for her to clean out 2 dresses in the dressing room that were left there from the bride before me. I was instructed to pick out a corset and shoes which i "needed" to try on the dresses. After going back and forth with her maybe 3 times about the fact that I did not need or want shoes OR a corset at this time she finally left that alone. She then asked me which dress I came in to try on. I explained to her that i did not know what sort of dress i was looking for and that i was open to trying a few different kinds. The only specification i made was that i liked a simple look and did not want to be very poofy. She told me I needed to pick one dress because she didnt have time for me to try on multiple dresses.. this really upset me especially due to the fact that I waited 45 minutes before I was even helped. I showed sheila something simple and a-line. She then asked me my size. When i told her i was a size 22 she looked me up and down and shook her head then told me "well..our sizes run small" bacially implying that i was bigger than i said i was to her. I told her that i would not but a dress that i could not try on in my size and to please bring me something simple in a size 22. I was brought one dress while was so big and poofy im not even sure i would have been able to fit through the church doors. If she MADE me pick out a type of dress.. WHY would she bring me something completely different....OH YEA...IT WAS ALSO A SIZE 24. Which by the way couldnt even stay up on its own, it was so big. I would have told her i didnt like the dress or size but i couldnt find her because she was with ANOTHER BRIDE! My friend who was with me went to get me the other dress that had been left for me on a near by rack which was again the wrong size and style. We did not have the hanger or bag of the first dress with us and with my consultant no where to be found, we left the dress on the floor outside.. Sheila (without knocking or even peeking in the room) swings open my door to the dressing room to scold me for not haning up the dress while I AM NAKED and there are men right outside the dressing room helping a young family member pick out a sweet 16 gown. I was mortified. I asked her to shut the door while i covered my breasts with my hands and she told me once again and i need to hang up the dress when i am finished with it. It was almost 30 seconds of time where the door was completely open and i was naked besides my panties. After this i was completely done with her, the store and my horrible experience. I went downstairs and told the manager who was very nice and appologetic... but that doesnt take away the horrible dress buying experience i had, the fact that i was seen naked by all who were near and that i was told i look like i am a bigger size and made to cry at the end of all of this. I can never step foot in this place again. They lost a bride, my mother, my fiance's mother and step mother and 7 bridesmaids!!! HORRIBLE! read more

In a nutshell, the service stinks! My friend's daughter made the all-state orchestra and needed a long, black gown. I suggested we look at David's Bridal. When we walked in, there were four sales associates at the door laughing, giggling and gossiping. One asked if we needed any help, and we explained what we were looking for. The sales associate pointed to s rack and said, "they're over there,". She went back to her little coffee clutch and ignored us. Nobody helped us with sizes, nobody even showed us where the dressing room was. We didn't know the dress sizes ran small. Nobody helped at all! I gave the store two stars for price and selection, but I would give zero stars for service. read more

Horrible customer service. Do not purchase anything from David's Bridal. They are very unaccommodating and rude. If you don't pick up your merchandise with in 1.5 weeks its considers abandoned merchandise?! They also told me I would be able to tailor it there as well. When I went to make the appointment they didn't have any dates available with in my time frame. When I purchased the dress I let them know I would need to have the alterations done about 2 weeks before the event date since I am 8 months pregnant, the sales associate assured me that wouldn't be an issue. When I went to make the appointment they can not accommodate it. read more

Place is disgusting. The gowns are cheaply made, staff is unprofessional (our attendant started working with another bride because her manager didn't want them to leave the store and they were a walkin-I had an appointment!!), the place is literally filthy, people had food/beverage items that they had left in a row of dresses, when I told the attendant it was "no big deal", even though after that they told me they sold gowns off the rack. No thanks, I don't want a side of BBQ with my dress. I also felt like they were trying to push "more expensive" gowns on me because I didn't really know what I was looking for. These gowns looked like they would fall apart at any second, and we're very cheaply made. I also asked about alterations which no one could give me a straight answer about. They wouldn't let me leave the store without declining an offer for a credit card 3 times. Also, after you leave, they call once a month to tell you about "offers"; this still continues despite telling them multiple times that I already got my gown elsewhere- and it is now 2 months AFTER my wedding. I had gone with my mother to look at wedding gowns and both she and I never wanted to go back. Ladies, I know everyone has different tastes and budgets, but I would suggest checking out local private bridal shops before going here-they do have all types of dresses for all budgets so don't just assume you have to go here because of some of their "deals". You can get a quality and unique dress at a good price instead of a dress that's cheaply made, and you don't have to worry about someone trying to push "sales" so they can have their corporate numbers up because the private owners would rather build a relationship and good reputation with you. read more

We met today with bridal consultant Juana who was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and just overall wonderful. Went here with my family to see dresses for my sister's upcoming wedding. We had Michelle Grigalunas who was absolutely great! She made our first dress shopping experience enjoyable for all of us. She was accommodating, friendly, and personable. It really was a great experience for us. We also went on a Monday so it was fairly quiet and thus even other staff was able to be fairly attentive. The dresses ranged in prices and styles which is helpful when on a budget. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I was rushed, lied and threatened by an unethical, unprofessional, rude staff (Mindy, Arlene and Jeniffer T). FORTUNELY, my fiancé found the REFUND POLICY that PROTECTS me, like a CUSTOMER. They tried to pressure me to pay a whole layaway that I never ordered and threatened by telling me I would loose most of my money if I cancelled the order. From my understanding, everybody makes mistakes, but misinforming a client about their rights is Unethical and Illegal. I was at store last Wednesday and my assistant Mindy D, pressured me to buy a dress by telling lying that dress may not be available the next day! But this dress continues with the same price online and stores. When I asked her for an estimated date for my product arriving she told me she couldn't give any information until I paid the full amount. Then she told me my dress was coming in April, so I refused that since my wedding is very close to that date. Mindy called her supervisor Arlene B to refund my deposit so I could repay in order to change the delivery date(absurd that the delivery date could not be modified with that same order); but my bank locked my card. Arlene B told me that if I wanted them to hold the dress for me, I would have to leave a deposit and pay the remainder of the amount when I was credited back. I left the deposit to hold the dress, since then Arlene has been calling me everyday asking me to pay the full amount as they would not order the dress until the dress was paid in full. I wanted to cancel my order and Arlene B told me there is no refund. I called again to speak with a different supervisor by the name of Jeniffer T, she lso told me the same story and this time she added that my dress was in layaway and I would have to pay a 10% fee of the total price of the dress if I cancelled the order. So I would just receive almost none of by deposit. I went personally with my fiancé to Davids Bridal and spoke with Jennifer T and explained the situation in person and was told in a rude way that she was unable to cancel the order without charging the 10% fee. My fiancé pointed out that A full refund was due as 10 days had not gone by since the placement of the order. She admitted to the policy and supposedly cancelled the order of the dress and said I would be getting my deposit back by check in the mail. She didn't give give me any receipt so I called the store next day during to get the receipt by fax but of course without signatures. Until now no refund received.... i already sent an email to Ellice J, manager in Paramus to DBcares@dbi.com and waiting for her anwswer Don't shop at David's Bridal all they care about is their commission's and not much about the brides. They make shopping for a bridal dress a nightmare. read more

the only reason this place gets 2 stars is because i love my dress and for what i got the price was right. I had nothing but aggerivation. When it came to my fitting one of the dress makers was rushing to get home and decided to have someone else finish my dress. Then when i was supose to pick up my dress they called me 2 hrs before my apt and it was not ready. i dont have time to be reschedualing i am leaving for my wedding in 6 days. go somewhere else you will be alot happier i guess you pay for what you get. read more

Thank you for the mostly unresponsive response. The fact remains that your front desk receptionist is unbelievably rude and did NOT explain the policy that you outline below once I changed the appointment. I also note that once I 'canceled' my appointment, that should have freed a bridal stylist for someone else, but that also didn't seem to be the case since people continued to be turned away or told that the first available stylist was at 4 pm (yes, I had plenty of time to observe Kayla in all her glory). So your customer service continues to be abhorrent and your response just reinforces that observation. I appreciate the good wishes for my event; it will be wonderful since I've dodged the David's Bridal bullet. One other aside: you note in many of your other responses that things are "customary in the bridal retail industry" when that is often not the case, and spend a lot of time touting how busy and successful the Paramus store is. Yet you also seem to spend a lot of time responding to negative reviews. Imagine how successful you and the Paramus store could be if you actually fixed the problems rather than trying to explain them away or just dodge the real issue of horrible customer service! read more

Visited with my mom to find my perfect wedding dress. The store is great. Arlene was so patient and helpful. Excellent experience.

Pay attention to your customers even if they are just looking. I am a bride that was interested in looking at the bridesmaid dresses and style. A women set us up with a consultant she helped us for a bit then disappear. We later browsed around and not single person asked us if we needed help. I told my sister that I wanted to peek at the bridal dresses and a older women with a mustache ask if we needed help and I said I simply wanted to look and she told me I needed an appointment to try. I said I wasn't interested in trying but simply looking after about a minute the women stop us and told us we couldn't look around and suggested we make an appointment next time. Angry I left and felt like I was unimportant to them. Meanwhile the place was empty and 10 employees were in a group talking. The women could've told me that she had some time or set me up with an appointment not to loose the customers. ( i wasn't interested in the dresses but I never been in the store before) I will not be shopping there. The receptionist in the front was really nice . read more

Worst customer service. When I called they put me on hold forever and when I came in they were really rude

I made an appointment just to have my sister try on bridesmaids dresses as she is leaving the country for 10 months and will be returning right before my wedding. I wanted to see what would look nice on her and get her size so that we can have it ready when she comes back. I explained this to our lovely attendant TINA and she was WONDERFUL! She was kind, warm, and endlessly patient while my mom fussed about our picks. Another sweet attendant there also chipped in, but I didn't get her name. I will definitely be coming back with the rest of my bridal party to meet with Tina and order dresses! read more

Davids Bridal is literally the worst! FUTURE BRIDES PLEASE READ! I don't love shopping so I figured this was quick and convenient for a dress, right? First I ordered a belt to go with the dress I picked and it showed up on my door step broken. They asked if any of my neighbors would have done this?!? ( I literally laughed) I was then told 4-6 months after ordering the dress it would arrive.....2 weeks later I get a call to pick up my dress in 30 days or its going back to the warehouse. I went very excited, but skeptical, looked at the dress once and ITS WAS THE WRONG DRESS. They sent it back with 0 sympathy and I get called again 2 weeks later to come pick up the dress. They tried talking me into getting it shipped directly to me and I said NO, I'll come and inspect. (thank god I did) Third times a charm right? THE CUPS WERE SEWN IN FOLDED! Through all of this I was a size 6 and was told the sample I tried had never been worn, but ordered a size 8 to be safe. The dress was so small the zipper didn't even make it half way up. They tried to say we lied about the sample never bring worn and it was stretched so I was actually a bigger size. After lots of arguing, turns out they "most likely" miss marked the dress and it was in fact a size 4! Finally the dress came for literally the 4th time in a size 10 (I was still a 6!) and I was so disgusted and sad I walked out with it. I am not a crier, but I left in tears almost every time I went. Their favorite line is "i'll put a note in the system." One of the Managers actually said, " I am not sure what to tell you." I cried and argued so many times, even pleaded for a refund so I wouldn't have to keep coming and being disappointed. They made it very clear, when I walked out that door I was not their burden and they could care less how I felt. I've met 5 year old children with better manners and customer service then any employee here. If I have one regret throughout this entire wedding planning process it would be going to Davids Bridal. They made the last few months absolute hell for my family and I. If you want to be a happy and stress free bride AVOID THIS STORE!!!!!!!! read more

They ruined my dress. Was the worse alterations I have ever seen. They did not do what was promised by the seamstress. My dress did not fit right and they blamed me, the customer, because I have a small cup size. That was the excuse given why dress did not fit. They also did not make corrections to hip size. Was too loose around mid-section. Told me they couldn't make adjustment after going back 3 times. Looked like I was wearing a potato sack. I picked up dress 3 days before my wedding and cried like a baby. I could not believe that David's Bridal would treat me like this. I did not have any choice but to wear the dress, after my Daughter had to use clothespins in the back, to take up the excess material for Wedding pictures. I do not recommend David's Bridal in Paramus, NJ for wedding dresses. read more

We got there on time and were asked to wait 10 minutes. We waited for 45 minutes. The girl at the front desk kept telling us to wait 10more minutes each time we complained(we are the idiots, we should have left after 20 mins in). Never saw a manager or the stylist. The WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! I would never ever recommend David's Bridal nor this store! I've had a horrible experience since I ordered my dress in January. First, they cancelled my order and told me that they were not going to give me my dress. I asked for my money back because I did not wanted to do another fitting. They stated that they will get it fixed. Then I was supposed to receive my bridal gown on june 20th and they said that the order hasn't been fulfilled. After that, I called a couple of times to ask for my money back because my wedding is in Sept !!!! Today I still don't have my dress and they have had the worst customer service ever! I mived to Texas and I gave all of my info for them to ship this out to me and they did not had it in the system. I gave my info like 10 times. My consultant was Brittany who was sweet and as patient as you can imagine. I asked how long my appointment is scheduled for and she informed me it is usually one and a half hours max. It was truly a much better experience than I had anticipated. My tip is try to go on a week day morning when they first open at 10:30. You will have the peace and quiet you want without bumping into others also trying on dresses. Stay away from Saturday appointments if you want personalized attention. read more

Four stars only because Juana (my bridal consultant and all around wonderful woman who cried with me when I found my dress) and Sheila are absolute saints. Every other person I have encountered there has been rude and unhelpful. The consultant who was assigned to help me find a bridesmaid dress outright told me "we have something much prettier than that style over here" Referring to the style of dress I told her and showed her photos of that i liked then when I said I preffered the style I had originally showed her she lost all interest in helping me find a dress and just made me choose blindly from the board of styles in the dressing room. AND she told me that the style I had shown her was going out of stock and all three of my maids would have to order that day without two of the maids present; otherwise it would be out of stock- only for me to look at the website today to find the dress in the spring collection on the first page of dresses. Disappointing to say the least after my wonderful experience with Juana finding my dress. read more

The looks put together by the sales girl were wonderful what was not wonderful was that she brought out a dress double my budget which she was aware of and everyone that came with me loved it ended in an argument over who paid what and u left empty handed not to mention the sales consultant desperately tried making a sale and intruded on my private conversation she kept telling me to let someone else pay blah blah most important day of my life read more

My sales consultant, Yasmein was incredible. She was wonderful and personable and did a fantastic job of pulling dresses based on my personality and our conversation. Case in point: the dress she pulled for me was perfect and the one I chose. If I were to rate just Yasmein, I'd give her ten stars. The shoes, the dress, the dress fill, the veil--every style choice she guided me towards was spot on and suited me perfectly. She was kind of a wedding dress whisperer and I wholeheartedly recommend her. The experience of shopping at DB in Paramus was rather awkward. The manager of the store stood about 15 feet away from where I was trying on dresses and getting feedback from my family and she kept looking over at us. She never once came by to say hello or introduce herself and she didn't leave from where she was standing on the floor during the fitting process. She just stared and chatted with another employee, and kept staring, so I felt as if I had to keep my eyes averted to avoid catching her staring at me. It was intensely awkward and I felt like a living sales target. At one point, while I was wearing my dress, I heard her say, "So what, is she going to buy it?" It was unsettling and I felt really pressured. After I chose to buy the dress, she came by to congratulate me, but everything leading up to that moment just felt uncomfortable. The resulting experience was between one and two stars, so I split the difference to land on eight, rounding up for Yasmein. (That is how amazing of a consultant she is.) I bought the perfect dress, but I honestly regret choosing an appointment time during the weekday when things were less busy, as I really would have preferred it the appointment had gone between me, my consultant, and my family, instead of feeling like we were under glass casing and on display. read more

Davids bridal has been my shop for my bridal gown and accessories, my bridesmaids' dresses, and for alterations and I have no complaints! I will tell you that, depending on the days you visit, it will get hectic and the employees there won't always be gleaming with joy ready to hear your every demand and request. BE PATIENT WITH THEM. I've waited 20+ min past an appointment time to be helped but, once I've been helped, I've always been well taken care of from beginning to end. The ladies in the alterations department definitely take a beating from frustrated, annoyed brides and families but trust me, once you're started you have their undivided attention (even when another frustrated, annoyed bride is bitching behind the curtain that they're taking too long with you) and they will make sure you get EXACTLY what you want. I wish I remembered the names of every employee I've worked with because they were all absolutely wonderful and have made my visits there worth the hassle. THANK YOU LADIES read more

When I entered the store, I was greeted by a very nice elderly woman - I believe she was the alterations manager. This was the only pleasant part of my experience. She directed me to a desk where I was "welcomed" by a young lady named Lexi. To say welcomed is to put it kindly. Lexi did not make eye contact, inquire as to how she could help, or say good morning to me. Not only that, she looked like she had stayed out too late the night before - her hair was unbrushed and suit looked like it had just been pulled out of the hamper. I told her that I wanted to take a look at a dress and she called someone on an intercom. That lady joined us, and asked what style number I was looking for. I told her I didn't have the style number but saw the dress on the website - at which point she rolled her eyes and started leading me towards bridesmaid gowns. I let her know I was there to see a BRIDAL gown not a bridesmaid gown and she took me back to the Welcome Desk where they said no one could do anything for me because they were busy (there were two other people in the entire store). While I totally understand that Saturdays can be quite busy, and I did not have an appointment, the way I was treated was abysmal. I would have been glad to come back an hour or two later for an appointment if I had been treated with even a little bit of kindness - or even given the option. I was not offered a later appointment time, or an apology for the lack of assistance available. The staff at the David's Bridal store in Paramus was unprofessional and disrespectful. I made a yelp page only to write a review about my experience. I don't know why this place has such low reviews. I went in on a Saturday afternoon and I was handed a consultant right away. My consultant name is Sana. Right when I got upstairs we got right to work. Sana asked everything to find me that right dress. She asked my price point which wasn't that high and she did her best to respect that budget, unlike other consultants who try to get you to spend as much as possible. I probably tried on like 6-10 dresses only because It was my first time and I didn't know what I wanted. She interacted with my family as well to make them feel comfortable. She may seem like a soft girl but she definitely knows what she's doing. We eliminated the dresses as we went on so it would be easier for me to choose. In the end I finally chose dress # 5.
