I've been a fan for a long time, which is why my experience at the Capitol Hill location in Seattle was so disappointing. I came in simply trying to figure out whether my order had gone through. Instead of someone calmly helping me understand what happened, I felt like the employees immediately became defensive and argumentative. I was told that my order hadn't gone through when it actually had, and when I tried to explain what happened and that I had been waiting, I felt like I was basically being told that I was lying. I know how long I waited, and I know what happened. What bothered me most wasn't even the mistake with the order. Mistakes happen. It was how quickly the interaction became confrontational instead of someone just listening and trying to solve the problem. I was more than willing to have a normal conversation and figure things out, but I did not feel like I was given that same respect in return. I have supported Dave's for years, going all the way back to growing up in Los Angeles. That is exactly why this experience was so upsetting. A brand should value the people who have supported it, not make them feel like they have to fight just to be heard. I really hope the Capitol Hill location takes customer service, de-escalation, and how employees communicate with customers more seriously. As a girlie from Los Angeles, the Seattle location isn't it. They're franchising for the money and don't care about anything but money in a new market. This used to be a great location, but it has quickly gone downhill since it first opened. Parking has always been atrocious and the wait time for the food is still ridiculously long. Absolutely unacceptable experience. I ordered Dave's Hot Chicken through DoorDash and my order very clearly included fries. Instead, I received two containers of mac and cheese that were honestly not even edible to us and did not receive the fries I paid for. I have attached photos showing exactly what was delivered. What makes this even more frustrating is that there is apparently no way to contact the restaurant directly. If there's an issue with your order, you're routed to a generic feedback form that offers no immediate assistance, no customer service, and no real way to resolve the problem. I didn't want a survey. It's incredibly disappointing that they can make a mistake with an order and then create a system where customers have no practical way to reach someone who can fix it. For those who can't handle spicy, they offer no spice and lite mild, but heat is a nice addition even if light. TLDR: food was mid and vibes were weird. This was my first time eating at DHC, I've always been put off by the long lines that always seems to be present, but we wanted a chicken sandwich and Mt. Joy has closed. At one point, a customer had been waiting roughly 40 minutes for an order of fries. What made it worse was that people who had ordered full meals AFTER this customer had already received their food and left. Eventually, the customer walked up to the counter and calmly asked about the order. The employee told him he'd be with him in a minute. The customer explained that he had already been waiting 40 minutes for fries and that people who ordered after him had gotten their entire meals. The employee told him to "look around." The customer responded, "You look around. All these people will get their meals before my fries." At that point, the employee essentially told him to go away. The customer said he would just like to speak to a manager and get a refund. The employee questioned why he would want a refund, and the customer basically responded that he should use critical thinking and explain why someone who had been waiting 40 minutes for fries wouldn't get them before people who ordered full meals after him. Then things took a VERY unnecessary turn. The employee told the customer to "get the fuck out." The customer responded in kind. Then the employee threatened the customer, saying that he "may not make it home." Yes. Over. An order. Of. Fries. Another employee eventually slid some fries across the counter toward the customer. Unfortunately, they were burnt. I understand being overwhelmed during a rush. I understand orders getting lost. I understand mistakes happening. What I don't understand is threatening a customer over a legitimate question about a missing order. A 40-minute wait for fries is frustrating. Being told to leave for asking about it is unprofessional. But threatening someone and implying they may not make it home crosses an entirely different line. Hopefully management addresses this, because nobody should have to wonder whether asking about their food is going to turn into a threat. Worst part is my order was nasty too. read more

I'm sure everyone knows this place already. I got to try it for the first time recently & it is delicious. We came around 9 PM, very hungry, post pickleball. The line was long and it's a war to find seating, but we came out victorious. The food took a reallllly long time to come out (but this was expected). They were handing out little slushie samples to keep people satiated. The pink color lemonade slushie was my favorite. The fries are my number one favorite thing here. Dave's Hot Chicken definitely hits the spot. The tenders and sliders are super juicy with a nice crunch, and the spice levels bring some real heat.
