Coming from California to Utah years ago and not having a Dave's Hot Chicken was rough. We were ecstatic when we found out they were opening Utah's first location in Orem! A super cool thing they do is if you sign up for their rewards program on the app, you get a free drink. The service was amazing, the staff were happy to be there and checked in on us and our experience. The restaurant was clean and well kept. There was even a DJ for opening day, and he was playing absolute bops. The food was just as good as I remember. The chicken was super juicy, and the tenders were huge! I would give more than 5 stars if I could; we love you Dave's! Thanks for coming to UT! read more

Dave's Hot Chicken - 2 tender meal with fries. Medium heat. - Chicken Shop Near Me - Orem, Utah

I went to the grand opening at Dave's Hot Chicken in Orem! We ordered one medium spice slider, two mild spice sliders, fries, kale slaw and a drink for $27. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, the sides were made fresh and tasted great. I'd recommend adding honey and coleslaw to the sliders. Even at their grand opening the time from ordering to getting food was about 10 minutes. They were out of mac n cheese, but it's understandable with them being slammed. Highly recommend! read more

First off the chicken was moist and crispy i would give it a 9/10. The service was really good as well I had Noah help me out and he quickly pointed me to order number 3 , I was able to try the slider and tender. The store was also clean. Found Dave's threw the GOTYOU App. read more

Micah was the best! We love this location!! They're really helpful and he's a good boxer

the chicken looked a bit off like it had come from a zombie chicken, along with it being dry. To add on to my experience here, the toast was so soggy that it felt like it was drenched and left in a hurricane before being served. not the best experience in my opinion. In all, this felt like I was in a sadder version of canes. read more

This place is so good! They have great service and it was so quick and delicious! Dave's hot chicken has got it done right!

For years now the only worthy Nashville hot chicken place in Utah has been Pretty Bird. We finally have another place that does it right. I got a #3 spice level hot and was so happy to find that everything lived up to the hype. The chicken was crunchy and moist on the inside. Heat was perfect. Dave's sauce is really good. Great fries. Can't wait to go back. read more

Dave's Hot Chicken - Dave's #3 1 Tender & 1 Slider w/ Fries - Chicken Shop Near Me - Orem, Utah

Customer service is great. Food is super good and its a great late night spot for your friends and family

Legit hot chicken for a chain. It was a little slow, but expected during a lunch rush, but the chicken as worth the wait. New spot clean and fresh and the staff was actually very engaged and did a great job (rare in Utah). I'm not a fun of the kale slaw, but still pretty good in the slider. I'd have to say a little pricey, but compared to the SLC independent Nashville hot chicken place, it was a better price and value. And they didn't auto top you!!! (Sorry PB... I don't like that you do this to customers). I'll be back to give this spot a chance at 5 stars. read more

I was really excited to have another chicken restaurant in the area to try. This specific franchise comes to us from California. They had their grand opening on June 30, so this was the day I decided to give them a try. I was one of their first guests in line. Outside, they had a DJ playing music but that was it. I was kind of shocked there wasn't more excitement. There was no incentive to support their grand opening, other than being the first ones to try it. Typically, other grand openings have shirts, prize wheels, raffles, or at least a little coupon to come back. While I am not heartbroken to have not received this, it just seemed like a bit of an odd grand opening because of this. The line took a long time to move. It definitely could just be because the employees and customers are brand new and could be asking a lot of questions. As I got closer, I was able to read the menu. I was a bit shocked at the lack of variety with the menu. There was no sauces and not a lot of options, other than tenders or sliders. Since this was my first time here, I wanted to get a feel for the menu. So I ordered the slider and the tender combo. I asked if it came with any sauce and he said I could get a ketchup packet lol. My total came out to $13.93, which wasn't bad. However, in hindsight, the quality was lacking and the price was high for how low the quality was. The tender was great with texture, but the taste was bitter. I love spicy things but it wasn't even a spicy factor, it didn't have any flavor and then it had a sting to it. The fries also needed sauce, luckily, the meal did some with a small side of their sauce so this helped. I also did like their pickles. For $13.93, I think it should've not only been better quality, but also come with a drink. That's just my opinion though. Also, why did the tender come on an uncooked piece of bread? I saw an influencer video where she shared a "hack" with toasting the bread at home...how is that a hack? Dairy Queen, Cane's, and everyone else, gives you toast. I am not a duck and I think it is just so weird to give someone a piece of bread. Rolls are good, breadsticks are good, toast is good...but a piece of bread. The inside of the building has a very specific vibe. It reminds me of Subway Surfers or Avril Lavigne's Sk8er Boi. It has a graffiti, California boy vibe to it. The bathrooms followed the same theme. Which is most definitely not my style but I can appreciate it when it is someone else's business that they are leasing out. The service was alright. He was trying his best to be helpful but it was hectic and we were all just trying to figure out what was going on. The parking is decent; I mean, there is plenty of it but there is also cars coming from every which direction so it was kinda iffy at certain times. The bottom line is, the chicken restaurant business is a competitive market. You absolutely have to offer a product that stands out and gives people a reason to pass all the other chicken restaurants on the way to your location. There are many ways to execute this; whether it be by offering better quality, more variety, cheaper pricing, or even something super simple like rewards to incentivize your customers. The bar is being set high for chicken restaurants in the area, and the more chicken restaurants we get, the higher the bar is going. You cannot lack in too many subcategories and you absolutely have to give people as many reasons as possible to want to choose you over everyone else. I don't think Dave's is there but I think they could be. They definitely need to start with making some menu upgrades. Due to everything I just said in the last paragraph, I will likely choose some other places before Dave's. However, I will gladly keep my eye out to see if some things change and will definitely consider going back if something catches my attention. read more

I can't recommend this restaurant but I'm also not trying to discourage going here. The chicken seasoning is SO salty. It's too much. The fries are SO salty. Kids now days like those Taki's chips. You know the ones? I tried those once. "Salt city" was my initial reaction. To be clear, when you order a #1 you are going to get: -- two chicken tenders that a pretty big. They are covered in granular seasoning (at least). Lots and lots of seasoning. --- fries covered in granular seasoning. Lots and lots of seasoning. -- fry sauce -- pickles -- two pieces of wonder bread (or similar) I ordered medium. Medium wasn't very hot (not a complaint). Summary: the seasoning was too much, too salty and the flavor wasn't appealing. None of my review has anything to do with quality. The quality was good. Reference: I thought Cain's chicken was ok/fine. I think Chick-fil-a is good. read more

Food was alright, but the bread used for sandwiches was mcdonalds quality. Soggy and thin. When youre paying twice as much that should not be where youre cutting corners. Also, customer service was bad. Asked for a sticker and was told no twice before another employee gave me one. read more

The soft opening night was so good, not so busy and absolutely amazing chicken.. Damn this place really lives up to the hype. Delicious juicy hot chicken with excellent flavor and such good dill pickles. I had the medium heat with a tender slider and fries and it was a ton of food. Staff was also very friendly, atmosphere was nice and I got my food quickly (to go order). Will definitely be back. 5/5 read more

Staff was friendly and ambiance is unique. Tried to order a shake and I guess there milkshake machine is down, normal for a grand opening, when I asked for a water the cashier said they would have to charge me for a soft drink. Pretty crazy to me you can't just get a water. Ordered the slider without pickles and it came with pickles. Staff was kind to fix the situation, but just another mark to make it a not so pleasant first impression. Along with that, there's no ranch, I've never heard of a chicken sandwich place without ranch. The slider is a tender on a bun, it's a solid tender but I felt like I've had much better breasts at other chicken sandwich places. Sauce was almost non existent on the sandwich, breading and cook was good. But overall I'd give the slider a 4/10 compared to other sandwiches I've had. You can definitely tell Dave's is a corporate mass produced sandwich compared to some of the smaller chains around. read more

Don't get the spicy chicken Instead of using different, spicier, ingredients if you make it spicier it just equals more seasoning not spicier seasoning and sense that's their whole thing it kinda sucks but if you want good chicken jus go to raising kanes read more

Food was immaculate , service was impeccable, atmosphere was great . Zach The Manager is the best .

Went there this afternoon with my son for lunch. We both ordered the sliders and fries. It was a little surprising that sodas were not included in the fry/slider combo. Price for the two of us, including a small modest tip, $43.19. My son really liked the food. I finished 80% of the first slider, and then abandoned the remainder. The cheese fries are just amazing. It would almost be worth going back for the fries if the chicken were not so bad. Tender? Yes. Spice, eh. Flavor, eh. Grease? Oh, my. So much grease. Considering that I felt nauseous after the first slider, it my have been a little too greasy for me. Will, I go back? Not even if you paid me. Disgusting. read more

We moved from Nashville 6 years ago and have missed its famous hot chicken. We tried Dave's today, and gave it two thumbs up! I ordered the slider meal; don't let the term "slider" throw you though. This is a full size sandwich! The chicken is to die for, and there's a nice sauce and kale slaw and crisp dill pickles packed inside a toasted bun. The krinkle cut fries were crisp and seasoned, adding a great complement to the sandwich. Finding a hot chicken place that compares to Nashville hot chicken has made my day! read more

TLDR: average chicken shop, gets the job done. 3 stars due to this being average and acceptable but nothing exceptional or above and beyond The location is in a great spot close to the mall and anything else in the area you could want. The selection is pretty basic with their choices, but not like you need much more in a place that serves fried chicken. I got the mild chicken sandwich and a hot tender, the hot had some kick to it and the mild was great for a quick bite. Worth it to visit once and see what the hype was about, but not something I see myself returning to as Chick-fil-A and raising canes are also nearby. read more

It was our first time trying Dave's Hot Chicken and we were so impressed. The chicken sat in our car for 30 minutes and was still super juicy, crispy, and flavorful. The seasoning on the fries was really good too. We loved the sauce and wish we had ordered extra! We LOVED that we were able to choose the spice level on the chicken too. There's something here for everybody. Overall very good and highly recommended. Also the customer service was impeccable. Eli was a rockstar at the register and helped us feel welcomed. The blonde girl calling out the orders was awesome too- spoke loudly, efficiently and clearly. Plenty of seating for everybody. The overall ambiance of the place was really fun and friendly. We saw families and older people there who all seemed to be enjoying the food. read more

Don't let the names "sliders" and "tenders" fool you, the sizes are like normal sized chicken sandwiches. The chicken itself was crispy and juicy. The heat to spice levels are well explained. Service is friendly and knowledgeable on their menu items. The atmosphere is fun and casual. read more

Dave's is super fire ! I will be coming back for my birthday for sure ! Sandwiches and fries taste amazing! And the staff is super friendly

HOLY FREAK THIS IS GOOD!!! We made the long drive from Morgan County to Provo for my son's soccer game and decided on Dave's Hot Chicken after the game. We had never tried it before. Best decision I've made all week! The chicken is perfectly crispy/crusty on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. I like food with a kick but I'm not a sadomasochist, so I went with Medium spicy and it was perfect for me. The crinkle fries were fantastic as well. Crispy yet soft, and nicely seasoned. Seriously, Raising Cane's should send a spy into their kitchen to see how they do it because Cane's fries are terrible. The pickles are delicious too. My wife and son had the mac & cheese and loved it. Word of warning: portions are much bigger than you expect. A single "slider" is as large as a Chick-Fil-A sandwich. If you get the two slider meal you'd better have a huge appetite or expect to take one home with you. The tenders are much larger than you get elsewhere too. Loved the vibe of the place and the enthusiastic customer service from the employees. Two thumbs WAY up. Now...Davis or Weber County location PLEASE????? read more

this is my first time into this place! the main reason i came to write a review is because whoever you have working at the front deserves a raise. he was the NICEST man and so helpful in ordering my first time. he made sure i had a drink and sauces and napkins and just went above and beyond! i wish i remembered his name! and for the food, i'm only a few bites in but i will totally be back!! it is so yummy!! this place is also very clean and fun! the interior space as well as outdoor seating is very nice! okay i came back to add more because i'm even more impressed. the same guy came to ask me how my first experience was and if i was enjoying it! how kind! i was also curious if this would be just another canes, super chic, chicken place but surprisingly enough the flavors are actually very different and quite enjoyable! their "signature sauce" is a little mayo-y for my liking but it's still good! read more

I was promised my refund after being charged TWICE ($102.33 in total). I was told the registers card reader was broken AFTER the gentleman swiped my card. He then said after 2 days that I would receive the first transaction into my bank account. 5 days pass and nothing was received on my end. I spoke w a manager and was told I would receive a phone call to help me with what happend. No phone call and it's now been a total of 8 days. Pretty upset with what happend. Be cautious with your payments at this place. Great food and great environment, I just had a bad experience. read more

Lots of hype around Dave's and honestly it's a little disappointing. I had a medium slider and hot tender and the medium is way more sweet than hot and the hot isn't really hot. Fries are standard frozen crinkle cut with no flavor and it's not cheap costing $15 for a slider and tender with cheese. The location is new and clean and employees are fine but you come here for the food and it's disappointing read more
