    #3 basket, hot
    Kathryn O.

I came for hot chicken, and I got hot chicken. I got a #3 which is a chicken tender, a slider (which is a tender in a bun with sauce and pickles) and fries, pickles and dipping sauce. I ordered it hot and was not disappointed. It took several cups of tea to cool off and it was exactly what I wanted. Yum! My friends had chicken of varying spice degrees, loaded fries and shakes, and were all happy. The service is very friendly and fast, and the restaurant is clean and had plenty of seating. My daughter suggested that we come back to try every spice level, so she liked it, too!

My husband and I shared the slider pair, which was the perfect amount of food, plus they let us get each slider different heats, which thank goodness! Medium was perfect for me. Hot was way too hot to be enjoyable. My husband said he wished there was a medium hot, because he thought the medium wasn't spicy enough but he was burning from the hot. The bread and the chicken were both super high quality, and I loved the sauce and the honey. The Mac n cheese was good, not great, and we loved the pickles. Michael, the cashier, was super friendly and talked us through the whole menu. Loved it and will be back for sure!

Dave's Chicken is a great option to have nearby. No other place nearby has a good hot chicken - I said it! If you don't want hot chicken, go for the fresh crisp chicken without heat or mild option. You can order a meal (chicken and side) or enough food to cater a group meal or event. There is plenty of seating indoors and several tables outdoors with umbrellas. We tried this location twice since they've opened recently. We prefer the tender to the slider since the chicken stays crisper. We've tried hot and extra hot. Both are good but I prefer the extra hot. The size of the tenders is no joke. The two tender meal is a lot of food. The slushes are a fun option and keep your mouth cool. Staff have been a six out of five stars. I hope it stays this way!

This was my first visit to a Dave's Hot Chicken and I'll be back! It was spotlessly clean, the young man taking our order was pleasant as was the girl working the dining room. I got a slider and a tender. Really good! Only complaints are the water cup was tiny and the sauce they gave (which was delicious) was also very small. Correct these in the future and you'd get 5 stars from me! Looking forward to having it again next time I am in an area with one. I live out of town. Thank you Dave's team!

We have since ordered take out, but I probably wouldn't do that again. It's not packaged in a way that maintains the quality as much and the salads are packaged inside the hot meals instead of separately, so we didn't really get to eat that. Lately, when I get hungry I tend to think of this cuisine. As if to say that I was led to it by some invisible force, like a magnet, I made a u turn to get on the east bound lane to rush to it. A small restaurant but on the outside, I sensed some authenticity. After taking a few photos of its exterior, I stepped inside with high anticipation. On Yelp, it's got a solid 4-star rating left by the past diners/takeouters. Sounds promising. A young lady upfront said a quick hi followed by a question "For here or to-go?" to which I said "to-go. The menu has a good selection of both small (appetizer) plates to entrees. Their menus are somewhat fancy booklet style. Depending on the item, there are some accompanying photos of them. I wanted at least a few items so I went with 1) Fava Beans ($9 from the Appetizer section) and 2) Vegetarian Lovers Combo ($17 from the Entree section.) And for the next 45 min (from Boulder to Denver) on a beautiful mid Sunday afternoon, I had go through a very agonizing time smelling the mouthwatering smell of the two dishes while I was fighting the traffic jam caused by an accident on 36. Once I was home though, I wasted no time to savor the two dishes. And this is how my early dinner went: 1) Fava Beans - this dish could utilize more seasoning. It's a little bland or I should say boring. On the positive note, it does taste clean and healthy. I do like simple in many cases where I abhor something that's oversalted. That said, this dish pass my taste test. At the same time, it's definitely not something I highly recommend. 2) Vegetarian Lovers Combo - I can comfortably say that this is a solid dish. There are two falafels that are triangular shaped (never seen them shaped like that). Both baba ghonouj and hummus are in the top two compartments portioned generously. In the main compartment, house salad, rice and tabbouleh are beautifully and carefully placed. One large pita bread that was cut in half was in a piece of foil separately so it wouldn't get soggy. Oh let's not forget, there was one grape leaf on top of the tabbouleh which I saved it for the last. When I finally ate it, I realized that this is/was the star item of the whole combo plate. I've eaten super oily grape leaves that are too soggy in oils but this was perfectly moist and yet not oily. Small and yet it was dense inside. Wish the plate came with two of them. A little suggestion I would like to make to the restaurant (so I hope the restaurant owner read this!!) These two dishes lasted for three meal occasions until dinner time next day. The value for the total price of $23 (before tax) is pretty hard to beat in this high inflation time especially in a city like Boulder. To me, this is a solid 4-star experience.

It was honestly some of the best tasting, perfectly charred carrots I've ever had. Even though our table shared a variety of dishes, which included the ceviche, gnocchi, rigatoni, mussels, the carrots were still #1! We also had their special tomahawk steak which was cooked fantastically and to our liking (medium rare). Great service too and our server was super helpful in recommendations for both food and drinks. However, everything was definitely quite pricey for what we got. Though every ounce of food was delicious and top quality, the meal was definitely a splurge and more of a once-in-awhile treat.

We were greeted by a really nice blonde girl that showed us our seats. She was down to earth and was just beaming with great vibes. Then we got Matt. As if the experience wasn't already great from hanging out with friends, Matt invited us with an amount of aloha that is only found in Hawaii! We ordered chips and onion dip. The ramekin that the onion dip came with was really small compared to the amount of chips we received. It was delicious! Maybe substitute toasted bread next time? I ordered the poke and that was outstanding! It came with a creamy ginger dip that tied things together. For being landlocked and in the mountains, this is a dish I will remember! Matt also brought out a Hong Kong sriacha that definitely elevated everything. The reggae (music), positive vibes, and down to earth feel was a great way to end our trip before getting back to the grind. What a place!
