Stopped here by chance on a road trip during lunch peak. The restaurant is small and very clean. The staff is friendly and fast. The food is AMAZING! They have unusual soda choices along with the standard options. (Dewberry, Lemonade, coconut cream) my burger was delicious but the onion rings stole the show! All the food was seasoned well. Our orders came out fast and correct. My husband said the fried chicken sandwich was juicy, perfectly seasoned and batter was definitely homemade. This place needs help bad. Two teenage Hispanic girls run this place with a lot of attitude and take your order while talking on their cell phone talking about tonight's plans. All while they have a little old lady cooking everything, which hey she might be the owner back there if she is that old lady she needs help badly. After ordering we noticed a fry n a hotdog that we order wasn't in there. Which of course the girl got rude with me saying what did I order after saying what I'm missing. Then goes to say I ddnt order a hotdog even tho I did and got charged for it but wants to charge me again for the food I payed for. This place is right off I-35 and is a great lunch stop. Service: The service was great! The casher made a couple jokes with my friends and I, and offered me a cup for water when I didn't order a drink. The food came out in a couple minutes. They got my order wrong, but in a good way. Instead of a triple meat burger, they made me a triple cheeseburger, so I got $1 worth of fries for free! They were very sorry for messing up for burger and offered to make me another one (even though it was like 8:40 - 20 minutes from closing time for them), but I was fine with what I got, so all's well. Food: I ordered the triple meat burger and a small fries, but after getting the triple cheeseburger, I was in a good mood eating my food. The fries were lightly salted and tasted extremely fresh and new. The buns were deliciously buttered, the meat was solid, and the vegetables/cheese complemented the meat and buns deliciously. And the food came in a plastic basket and made the food look appealing. Environment: The place was spacious enough for a good crowd. There were two TVs showing two different things (2 different basketball games while I was there). The lighting was subpar, maybe because they were close to closing. I paid $10.48 for my rather large burger and a small fries. I wish I had seen the Zipper Ripper food challenge (5 patties, 5 pieces of bacon, and a pound of fries in under 12 minutes, $20 if you don't succeed) because I definitely would have given that a shot. This is a good burger, but there is honestly nothing that sets is apart from Dubl R, Kitox, Health Camp or Tom's. But honestly, if you put all these burgers in front of me I'm not sure I would be able to tell the difference...there just isn't anything mind blowing about any of them. I think they're all good, I enjoy going to all of them; but don't really have an outlier. There was five of us with four eating burger baskets and one having the chili dog basket. The chili dog was good too per the member of our party that ate it. It looked delicious for sure. They are heavy on making everything fresh, the meat is ground each morning, vegetables and tomatoes are sliced and potatoes for the fries and chips precut each day. I ordered a cheeseburger with homemade potato chips and it came out piping hot. The cheese was perfectly melted and the bun perfectly toasted. Homemade potato chips are not an easy tasks to perfect but Dave's has got it right on the money! Yummy, perfect crunch! My boyfriend ordered the *drumroll* Zipper Ripper challenge! What is the Zipper Ripper? It consists of 5 beef patties, 5 slices of bacon, 5 slices of cheese, all the fixings of vegetables artfully constructed between 2 buns followed by a pound of fries and a soft drink. You are given 12 minutes to eat it and if you can finish it before the time is yup, they take your picture and put it on the wall of fame. Not only that, your meal is comped ($16.99 if you do not finish) and you get a free tshirt. Not a bad deal huh? My boyfriend somehow finished just in the nick of time and the staff said that no one had completed the Zipper Ripper for a couple of months and they really did not expect him to finish since he's not that big of a guy. This place is a great for a burger and easy direct access from I-35 on the south boundside. It's maybe 1.5 miles or less I-35. My supervisor and I were on our way back home to Austin from Dallas. Anyways our food I want to say took about 10 minutes or less. It was fresh! We got the double meat with bacon, cheese, and everything else on it. I ordered the seasoned fries. They didn't look seasoned when I got them but they definitely tasted like they were! Staff was very friendly and helpful when I asked about their free wifi access. They gave me their guest password and offered to help me if I needed any assistance. So a plus in my book for even keeping your guest password secure and not wide open to the public. There's nothing extra special about the place other than the "Zipper Ripper Challenge" (burger challenge where you must 5 patties, 5 slices of cheese, 5 strips of bacon, 1 lbs of fries, & a drink in 12 minutes or less). The restaurant and ordering process reminds me of "Five Guys". The only difference and advantage is that these burgers are WAY better.
