Was driving to Houston and been on the road for 6 hrs so was getting very hungry so pulled over in this small town to see what was around. This was the closest place to where I was so thought I'd try it. What an absolute wonderful place I found. Got a cheeseburger and fries and loved it. Just a great home cooked burger. It was perfect. Great little hole in the wall place. Very good down home Southern cooking. The Wednesday special was a fried pork chop with mashed potatoes and blackeyed peas or collard greens. It was served with very good cornbread. So glad we stumbled on it. read more

I was pleasantly surprised. Friends were visiting and I'm new to the area and didn't know anything besides the few fast food places I'd seen but really didn't want to do. Another friend had mentioned a place but couldn't remember the name. I did a last ditch search and spotted this place. We ordered at the counter and they brought it to us. They didn't bat an eye when I ordered my burger bun-less. I ended up with a serving of collard greens as a side that were tasty. My friends had the shrimp and catfish. Everyone loved their food. A friend wanted cobbler but they didn't have any that day. I messaged the one friend later with the business page from Yelp and it was where she was trying to tell me to go. Shout out to Lakeview drive-inn for being so courteous! They made sure to make my sandwich just how I liked it and the cook even made sure to come out and double check how I wanted my sandwich. The French fries were great and my bf really loved the burger he got!! It's the cutest little diner inside and the vintage signs throughout it made it very cute and small town feeling - in a good way!! Completely worth the stop! This lovely little lake side cafe serves the best home cooked food. The ladies are sweet as can be. Nice, local clientele (a great indicator), delicious desserts. Recommended to us by the local ford dealer when we were in town to buy a vehicle. The specials are cooked home style. Husband had the chicken fried steak with collard greens and black eyed peas. His steak was freshly battered and the sides were freshly made. Enjoyed it and we returned two days later when we came back to finalize our paperwork at the dealership Recommend. The reason it wasn't five stars is because in our return visit when we ordered something off the regular menu they were out of the product and the young girl behind the counter didn't know much about the product and didn't ask. We had to ask another employee. Over all we will return and enjoyed our food. Brittany was awesome. They are cash only establishment. This is suppose to change within the next two weeks. Great flavor to the burger with fresh toppings. I was so glad it came out piping hot. It was good and hot to the last glorious bite. The onion rings were sweet and crispy goodness. Although it says drive-in, there is plenty of indoor seating in a very clean, nice restaurant. The staff is very friendly and if you ask, they make accurate recommendations of the menu. Really like this place - on our way to Fort Worth and got off the main highway and saw the crowd so stopped. Fried catfish and chicken fried steak pretty good. There's pride in the place - clean and friendly - order and pay at window and food is brought to you. Might have a hamburger next time - the person having one in booth next to us - looked good. read more
