Wow. Wings and ribs. Small shack in Marlin, it's a really quick stop off highway 6. Love the batter flavor. The seasoning on the fries is awesome. Dipping in hot sauce tops it off. Not greasy at all, I believe a sign says they use soy oil. Who doesn't want a happy tummy???

I was so excited to tatse this meal due to the exposure it received from bigdawg.tv. Another IG blogger that overhyped the quality of a restaurants food. I drove almost two hours for something I could have prepared in my own kitchen that would have had more flavor. The establishment is corky in appearance, very reasonable in price, considering the portion size. The staff was truly genuine and friendly. Everything was lacking seasoning for my liking. Yes, the flour was hit with a hint of salt and pepper, but that was mostly the flour. The fries were overcooked and extremely hard. To be honest, I couldn't even eat them. The wing to rib ratio was off as well, due to the fact the meal only came with 3 wings. With the rest being rib bites, not true fried ribs. The only thing I wish I'd purchased more of was the tea cake. Now, whoever made that knew what they were doing. OmG...it was light and airy with a hint of cinnamon and sugar. Mannnn...the best two dollars I sent all day. This spot may be cool for the locals in Marlin or those driving from Waco, but it's not worth the drive if you live more than one hour away. Chicken ribs! This is the best food stop I've ever made. They do not take cards, cash only. Tip that sweet lady.

How have I never of known that chicken ribs were a thing?!!! This has got to be one of the best food stops I've ever made... Best hands down I'd give them 10 if I could. If you ever go make sure you bring cash. Bc they do not take cards. So glad we hit an atm for this!

Do not pass this place by!!! What a great little secret gem in Marlin! We stopped for road fuel on our way to Galveston and LOVED it!! The fried ribs are out of this world, the wings were amazing and the sausage was excellent! Also loved the bbq sauce! Our belly's were happy for the whole ride. 12/10 recommend!!

After reading reviews, we stopped in Marlin specifically to try the fried ribs & wings. There is a good amount for your money and the people were nice. We called in the order, as suggested. Glad we did, as they were getting ready to close and it's so non-descript that we passed it on the corner by the freeway and went a ways before swinging back. The ribs & wings were ready and tasty, but the rib bone cuts were a little different from what I'm used to. It was a bit greasy for my tastes, but had good flavor. The fries were very good, crispy & moist inside. We can't eat fried ribs & wings every week, but it was a nice break from our usual food.

It was great little place on the way to Ft Worth. I've never had fried ribs in my life. The flavor was on point. The soft drinks could have been colder. The service was superb. They only take cash

Believe it or not, while driving back from College Station I needed to pull over and take a conference call. I couldn't help but wan to stop at a place called Wagon Rib & Wing Drive thru! Pulled in and got out. Found out that they didn't take cards, so I needed to go find some cash. To make sure I came back, the owner gave me a sample to take with me.....I came back. This place has some great character and makes, deep fried ribs. Not over priced and worth a stop.

The staff were amazing, and the only draw back from the restaurant itself was it was a little dark and hard for these GEN X eyes to read the menu. The food was excellent. For starters, I got the wonderful house salad, and my husband enjoyed his lobster bisque. For our entrees, my husband and son both got fish, and I got a perfectly cooked medium rare ribeye. We did get two sides to share, which was plenty for the three of us. I highly recommend garlic mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts. We could not skip dessert and throughly enjoyed the cheesecake and creme brûlée (I made have eaten most of this myself). While the prices are a little more than we spend on a nice dinner, this place is worth it.

I had the Maple Old Fashioned, like I usually do, the cubes were small so it tasted watered down. No pick for the cherry, no straw, wasn't smoked. What a waste of Whiskey. My wife's agave drink also sad. I had another whiskey cocktail and felt like a waste. I usually get the Rack of Lamb which has always been unbelievably great. Not on the menu anymore. Got the chef's pick which came with several courses. Salad was plain, soup was incredible, fish was ok, I don't remember what the other thing was. Service was great as always but when you spend $175 plus $36 for a tip I expect top level. Next year I would have a hard time going back there for my 42nd anniversary. What a shame.

Walking into the building you wouldn't think much of the place, but once you get into the restaurant you feel like you are in a typical Texas roadhouse. Cozy, warm, homey, and delightful all around. I asked the waiter if the burger was cooked properly or the Houston style (burnt to a crisp and disgusting). Fortunately, being so far away from Houston, I was assured the burger would be nice and juicy: indeed it was. Fresh cut, perfectly fried okra alongside a juicy burger made this meal perfect. I wish I could give this place a diamond rating. Texas Michelin Star Worthy for sure. Got to meet Billy as well. True gentleman. We…read morerandomly scrolled on YouTube and watched someone rated this THE BEST in Texas so we had to check it out. What makes this place unique is that they use charcoal, have make their own rub, you can order as many ounces up to 32oz I believe, and they only sell ribeye steaks. The place is called the general store because that's what it used to be when first started doing business in the 1980s but later expanded and converted into a steakhouse. We got there at 4pm and there was a little bit of a line already. The restaurant is only open three days a week each day from 5:30 to 9. On Thursday they have fried catfish and Friday and Saturday they sell only steak. The minimum order starts at 10oz and each ounce increment is a little bit extra charge. We ordered the 24 ounce to be shared between the two of us total is about $70 and we still have some leftover. The charcoal flavor was not overpowering, but the seasoning of the steak was perfectly balanced. Usually, I eat my steak with extra pepper or chimichurri, but this one I was able to eat without any extra seasoning. The surface of the steak look heavily seared but the medium interior was really juicy and succulent. I could taste more char on the edge pieces. After the steak we headed to their second shop next door for some malt shake. I got the cookies n creame flavor, it was milky and not overly sweet like any other milkshakes. And the malt flavor lingers on the tongue after each sip. I was debating to get another one but chocolate flavor but I was too full. Service there overall was very welcoming, and dining area is really big, the interior feels like an old western cabin but very clean and spacious. Great for family gatherings too. They also have a BYOB offer for people who love some good sips along with the smokey steak.

The yeast roll looked like a roll but it was pretty heavenly too, especially with the steak drippings. Our server was super sweet and helpful! And the quaint "general store" is for locals and visitors alike!! Awesome steak night --perfect for a date night! Pass on dessert! Stick with best stuff! Pecan cobbler and peach cobbler were overly sweet! But they did come with a scoop Of vanilla ice cream on top!

I got it with mashed potatoes and fried okra. I think the only negative if I had to list one is they charge an extra $2 for simply getting gravy on mashed potatoes or if you got a baked potato there is an extra charge for each individual topping instead of just making it one price. This is definitely a place worth the stop if you're in the area.

My wife had the special, Beef stew with Corn Bread. The catfish was very good and tasty both sides were good. The beef stew left a lot to be desired my wife was looking forward to it. Then she started picking out the meat with all the fat and grizzle on it, which ended up being 85% of all the meat in the bowl. we told the waitress about it and she seemed put off about it. She told the cook and the manager. A little while later she brings a small bowl out with " what she said the cook said had lean meat on it." the first three pieces I took off had more grizzle on it. Sorry not cutting it, the manager never came over to the table to say anything or acknowledge the problem. A little concern would have been nice. went to pay the bill and the girl at the register said she could charge me half price for the food.
