So, these people have tremendous meat. It's served in some of the best restaurants in Texas. It's actually the kind of meat that you want to buy. It's healthy not over medicated or vaccinated or steroided... if that's a word. It's the best of the best, the cream of the crop; literally you can taste the difference. I've been buying from these folks for years and years. I visited their storelocation in person twice. Always great service, always great product. We love smoked beef plate ribs, but sometimes they can be a bit hard to find. We've had more misses than hits tracking them down. Came across 44 Farms because we were desperate enough to try and order some in by mail. They had what we were looking for, and even had a sale going on, w/ some Meat Church rub thrown in. It was a no brainer. They have a small store front in Cameron, you can buy everything they offer, and it is sold frozen/cryo pack. This is all billed as Angus beef, and the quality of the meat was exceptional. These ribs were the highest quality we've ever found, with plenty of meat on the cut. They have a large selection of cuts, and all of it is available for mail order. We're fortunate with the actual physical store being just down the road. Problem solved next time we want the "cut above" the regular grocery store meat counter. read more

One of my sons sent me a package of PRIME filet mignon for my birthday! We are both fans of PRIME steaks! Unfortunately, the PRIME steaks that I received had almost NO marbling. They didn't even look or taste as good as the USDA Choice steaks that I get at my local grocer. My wife and I were extremely disappointed but I didn't say anything to my son because I didn't want to hurt his feelings. Sadly, both our sons went in together and sent us more PRIME filets from 44 Farms for Christmas! These were even worse than the steaks we received for my birthday! Two of the filets were actually end cuts that looked like cones on my grill. That is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE for that price! I told our sons about the last order and asked them not to ever buy us any more steaks from 44 Farms. This is very sad because I want to support TEXAS businesses. I sent an email to 44 Steaks and told them about the problems with both orders. I also told them that I was telling them this so that they could improve the supervision of their meat cutters to provide quality products to their customers. My intention was only to help them and I wasn't requesting anything from them. I also told them that because my interest was to help them, that I would not post a bad review on a public site and I would not have, if I had received a simple apology. I NEVER heard back from 44 Farms! Obviously, 44 Farms is not customer focused or interested in repeat business! Buyer beware!!!!! read more

Got on their website, ordered 8 steaks, was supposed to come with two bags of roasted pecans. Shippment arrived a day late, thankfully the steaks were still frozen. Package was missing 1 bone in ribeye and both packages of pecans. I've called 4 differnt phone numbers left multiple voicemails and can not get anyone to return my calls or emails. The one person I did speak with on the number ending in 4401 seemed to think my issue was funny and would only offer to forward my call to a another voicemail. First impression...customer service is $hit. If their employees are so simple they can't count or read the packing list taped to the outside of the styrofoam container they need to hire new help. I do live on the other side of Cameron and pop in when I am in town. Bob and his hard workers do a great job of finishing off the herd for marbling of the meat that is tops. I dont write many reviews and can count the total one one hand. And honestly, you have to screw up pretty bad to get me to write one, However, here, one is deserving for a great experience. After having customer service issues with the Good Chop folks and a decrease in customer service and qulaity control in Wild Fork, I thought I give 44 Farms a shot. Totally exceeded my expectation in service, and most importantly quality. Starting with the on time deivery (which should be be given but these days its not-Right Good Chop People and Wild Fork Folks?) it wasnot only on time but packaged in a cooler and a carry cooler which was a nice touch. As for taste and quality, now I have only had a skirt steak so far, but by far the best I ever had. Skirt steaks while tender can also be chewy-NOT HERE. It was grilled to perfection (which I take credit for) but the quality of the meat was exceptional. Just as good if not better than Allen Brothers and Lubels (which I have also purchsed from in the past) but for less money). I see a meat marriage in the future if the rest is as good as the first. read more

Online meat sellers are always a SCAM. Two boxes arrived today both frozen solid after being packed SPOILED. Butcherbox and other sellers are the same garbage that usually goes to dog food. There is no question regarding this ranch...Employees are true Cowboys and as Professional as they come. The facilities are first class and you can't beat the Angus Cattle raised on green grass. I was raised and live in Milam County... There are no ranches cleaner, run any better and the cattle never seem to be stressed....as far as the meat? Doesn't get any better. 44 Farms or 44 Steaks; Do a search for both and you'll find the correct website. I have ordered meat on several occasions. The quality is unbelieveable. I will never buy meat from a chain grocer again. You might worry about the cost but it is more than made up for in quality. It sounds like a cliche but you can really taste the difference. I am big fan of the "Aggie Bundle" but recently I ordered straight up top sirloins to feed a large party. You must try this meat! read more

The green grasslands around Cameron produce some delicious beef! You can purchase online and get their products shipped, but they do have a retail store in Cameron that is open Mon-Sat. We stopped in one Saturday on a whim and were thankful that they can provide a styrofoam ice chest with dry ice for your meat. The store has other products like jerky and seasonings. Fantastic place to get steaks. The family pack is pretty incredible, but the very Best was the porterhouse. The last few weeks they have been giving free delivery for online orders. Upon visiting 44 farms, it is a very small storefront, but a large operation behind that where they process and vacuum seal their meat. Made my first visit to the 44 Farms retail location. Beautiful historic building with decor looking like Chip and Joanna Gaines had designed it all. The staff was friendly and I even picked up a hat and t-shirt! But the beef is the best part. Very high quality and thick cut. It cooks up really well!.
