They said every supply house was closed until Monday. We were deviated. I called Dashing Dan... they found the part in a supply house on the other side of Long Island. I called dashing dans bc we had a cracked pipe under kitchen sink . Guy came for repair and wanted to charge us $1086 to replace pipe. Friday June 13th, called for a leak in our solar hot water tank. Was told that it would cost $350 to shut off, but since we had already shut off the main, they would wait until Saturday to come. He sent AJ who determined I needed a new tank, would cost 7K, left after taking deposit, unable to shut off at the tank, claiming there was no shut off! Turns out there was, and 20 minutes after taking 50% deposit calls up and says He can't do the entire job without a SOLAR person there which he doesn't do. Tried to sell me a boiler while he was there for 20K. I refused. So, he did nothing, told me there was no shut off and left me leaking for another 2 days. Gave me the 3500 bucks back, and when I complained about the 350 they said - they'd offer me a $100 credit, like I'd ever have them do anything ever! DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY. Monday the Solar guy came and closed the bypass and charge nothing! Obviously, they don't even know basic plumbing. I should sue for additional damage caused by the 48 hours of leaking. read more

Recently had a job priced by Dashing Dans. Talk about trying to clobber someone. I worked for a contractor years ago and if he really didn't want to do a job he would throw a crazy price at the customer to see if the went for it. Exactly what happened here. I was quoted $5000.00 to cut and cap a steam line and tap off my existing steam pipe to move a radiator approximately 8 feet. I'm extremely disappointed with Dans especially because we have used them in the past. Do your homework and get more than one estimate. I had the job completed for $1000.00. Called for emergency service after hours for leaking water from my gas burner. Spoke to Matt who was very nice. Matt took our info and said he would check with his tech and get right back to us . He called us back in two minutes and said he could have someone here by 8 pm. Steve, the tech, was here by 7 pm. He was courteous, knowledgeable and fixed the problem right away. Steve provided us with helpful info about replacing our 35 year old burner which is on our agenda . They ordered new parts that were supposed to solve the problem and correct the specific error shown on the heater . I had to put half down for them to order the parts ($700) and days later when they came back, having put the parts in, the exact same error showed up as did initially...and still no hot water. So after not wanting to take responsibility for not getting the job right, and putting parts in that weren't needed to achieve solving the no hot water problem, they had the audacity to then try and take me for more money , saying it must be another part that is needed!!! My worst customer experience. So I wake up to discover four inches of water in my basement. I could not identify the source. In a panic we randomly selected Dashing Dan's Plumbing, Heating and Cooling from the internet. While walking the basement with the Dashing Dan's plumber we observed water leaking out of the boiler. At that time, it was not clear which part of the boiler had failed. However, without even touching the unit, the plumber said you need a new boiler. He told me that the chamber was cracked and the unit could not be repaired. He makes a phone call, checks his iPad and tells me that a new boiler would cost $9,717.11. Although there is nothing wrong with my chimney liner, I was told that due to the building code, I will need a new steel chimney liner. Add another $1,300.75 bringing the total to a cool $11,017.86. After Dashing Dan's left the house and the shock wore off, I took a closer look at the boiler. After poking around a bit it became apparent to me that the pressure relief valve had failed. For $21.69 I picked up a replacement valve at local plumbing supply store. In less than an hour the problem was solved. You suck Dashing Dan!! read more

I just had a very good experience with Dashing Dan's. I needed new bathroom fixtures in the townhouse I just moved into. Customer service is top notch. A live human being answers the phone. The plumber came right away. High class operation. The van was new and clean. The plumber was very nice, professional, and competent. He gave me a choice of fixtures. Charged me a reasonable amount. This creepy guy came to give me an estimate which cost me $103 .He called his office because he would not give me an estimate without calling for a price . $1560 . I gave him his $103 and told him to leave . I went to Lowes and found the pipe for $35 and two couplers for $20. Oh yea it would cost much more to also unclog the line . I've heard poor reviews before but they were able to come to check within an hour . Another thing Don't bother calling them because this creepy guy showed me a bunch of 5* reviews, I said where's that ? Yelp reviews sucked . I was not born yest and I know this price was extreme. DASH AWAY from Dashing Dan's as fast as you can. I had water dripping from my first floor ceiling due to an issue with the central air unit in the attic. It was late on a Sunday and DD's was the only service I could get to come. They charged $350 plus tax just to show up. Less than 10 minutes after the technician left (and told me the issue was resolved), there was water coming through the ceiling again. They sent the guy back at 10 pm just to tell me that there was nothing he could do that night and to shut the unit down (when it was 90 degrees outside). It became clear that DD's technician had not even properly identified the issue. Their proposal? To send the same guy out the next morning to start ripping walls apart for $185 per hour. No thanks. I called someone else and they came out and correctly fixed the issue in less than 2 hours. And no walls were ripped apart in the process. Although I felt ripped off after having to pay $350 for "Dashing Dan's" pointless Sunday visit, I dodged a major bullet in not allowing them to come back. I'm fairly confident that they would have billed me a ton of money, ripped my house apart, and that I ultimately would have had to pay someone else to come do the work correctly. I was told that they were very busy and had to put me on a list. Which I understood. Obviously im not the only one needing a plumber in a blizzard. to prospective customers of dashing dans plumbing, 258 higbie lane, west islip, ny it is not often i take the time to write a letter complimenting on the quality of a plumbing job but when 2 "plumbing craftsmen" come to my house and solves three plumbing problems in my house (with no headache to me) i feel a duty to fellow homeowners so that they can get a very good job at very good price! what happen to me? i had 3 problems-- one large problem and 2 smaller problems. plumbing mechanics from dashing dan were jose and cliff (both of them had a positve "we will fix it sir" attitude) one- they repaired/replaced the drain pipe from upstairs toilet which was badly leaking into the downstairs toilet, the dashing dan expert plumber repair folks --completely removed the large toilet drain pipe and installed a totally new heavy duty drain pipe with heavy duty thick plastic pipe, super strong bonding glue and supported the job further with 2 large heavy duty hose clamps--i am so happy bc now we have no more leaks and i look like a hero top my wife and kids! two--the dashing dan experts repaired the toilet leak in the master bathroom. they removed the entire toilet in the master bathroom, cleaned up the old glue mess and refitted the master bathroom toilet with new plaster and then sealed around the bottom very nicely three--the dashing dan plumbers repaired the kitchen sink side sprayer hose that hadnt worked right for 3 years. every time i called the main office at dashing dans--the office personel were polite and helpful. conclusion- all our plumbing problems are fixed at our house bc of dahsing dan expert plumbers jose and cliff. we heartily recommend dashing dan to repair your plumbing problems at your home and office. and their price was very reasonable. from robert k, huntington ny read more

Dashing Dan's is a complete ripoff!!! No Stars.. Beware of Dashing Dan's Plumbing they have no courtesy towards customers. I have a fairly new boiler, it stopped working so I called their company... They offered free estimates. The technician showed up a few hours later than scheduled. He took it opon himself to change the roll out switch, cost $10.00 for the switch and 10 mins to install... $315.00 is what they charged me... I was upset due to how they charged me and contacted the company... Dan must have been Dashing for each time I called they kept saying he was out of town... Then on one occasion the technician who over charged me on a free estimate got on the phone saying that he should have charged me more so he could give me something back... Very Rude !!! Then almost 2 weeks later I called and reached the owner... Without hearing my concerns regarding the situation he was very rude and simply said he went over the bills and they're correct... Goodbye... Not only were they very rude and dismissive of my complaints my boiler system stop working 2 weeks later... Luckily I purchased a contract for my boiler system through Homeserve. Thank God for homeserve, they replaced it, excellent customer service, no problem since. After Dashing Dan's performed poor service (never fixed the problem we called for) and overcharged us they commenced to give us a year of service. This took a long call with the office manager. The next problem came up so they thought it was the circulator pump and since under contract, they replaced (it was my circulator pump too). The plumber left and the problem was NOT fixed. I called and spoke to the owner. After a heated discussion (much of it saved) of him yelling, calling me names and cursing the call ended. Technically we still had a year agreement with them. The owner proceeded to promise he would charge me for the service (remember the circulator pump I supplied) that they never fixed anything. That also was part of the yearly plan he agreed to. A lawyers office calls to ask for money because "I owe" per Dan's Plumbing. My answer, "I will see them in court with emails, voice recordings (I wish I could post) and witnesses. read more

I called Dashing Dan's Plumbing because I had a leak from my Hot Water heater that they installed a couple of months ago for $ 10,000. They sent a service man to evaluate the problem and after 5 minutes he said it was the mixing valve and that were not responsible. The cost to replace the mixing valve would be $ 2,200. I refused and they gave me a bill for $200. for the 5 minute visit. I called a local plumber and he said the mixing valve would cost $ 800. and labor to install $300. Total $1,100. Paid my contractor $11000.00 to put down 800 sq ft of radiant heat flooring. My contractor hired Dashing Dan to do the job. Dashing Dan had 7 different technicians at my house and none of them could get there system to work. In the middle of the winter for 7 weeks I had no heat on a system I paid in advanced to have. Dashing Dan gave up after 2 1/2 weeks and stoped answering my calls for another 4 weeks. I emailed my contractor and dashing Dan numerous times and got no response. Eventually I hired my own plumber who completed the job and charged me another $3500, which I split with my contractor. Today I got a certified letter from dashing Dan's from the Suffolk County clerks office stating that me and my contractor have a mechanics lien for $4500. The owner of Dashing Dan is named Anthony. This guy has zero integrity. Horrible business ethics. Stay far far away. read more

Very Disappointed in this company. If you want to be overcharged for a job then call them. I am an out of state landlord. The boiler in my rental property was puffing back. They charged me $600 for a cleaning. The $15 in parts cost me $50. They lied to me and said they were there for 5 hours when the tenant said they were there for 4 hours. I had the same exact job done back in November for $250 with the same parts replaced. I had asked them to send me the 1 year service agreement to sign for me to save some money...what they refer to as the "value price" if you sign with them for the 1 year svc contract and I never did get it!!! But they took my monthly payment out my checking acct immediately. I never did get the agreement. After charging me a price of $600 for a boiler cleaning and without him really knowing how long he was going to be there ..(how do you tell someone $600 without knowing how long the job was going to take) Lance came back and told me that was going to need a new Oil Burner and it would cost me over $1500 and another place is doing it for $975. They are a Ripp Off. Its so sad that you cant trust anyone to be honest and be fair with their pricing instead of trying to get over on someone. Rating - Minus 100. Yesterday May 18, 2018 I posted a bad review of Dashing Dan's Plumbing and heating. When I confronted the manager concerning a leaking pipe, his response was that it was an old house. Today I took a good look at the "LEAK". It is not a leak. There is a jagged rip in the pipe. This was not caused by old age. It was caused by a worker who installed the toilet incorrectly which caused the toilet to rock and rip the pipe. This was caused by Dashing Dan's and they have refused to accept any responsibility for their work. I am now faced with spending over $1,000 to fix their incompetent plumbing work and repair the extensive damage to the ceiling. The manager's attitude was nasty. This behavior and attitude is not welcome in West Islip. Beware of Dashing Dan's. read more
