When I saw a negative Yelp comment (about clean up), I couldn't have imagined how easy it would be…read moreto call the contractor to address anything minor like that. The comment made me a bit nervous to settle a contract -- and I told Dave to please pay attention to the wiring in the attic (which was my concern). After the AMAZING experience my family had with KinTech, I wanted to leave my first-ever comment on Yelp for Dave and his company. I am not an easy customer :). KinTech is a local Long Island company and its service (both its job and customer service) felt local/neighborly. When Dave (the somewhat hard-to-believe soft-voiced manager I had talked to on the phone) stopped by for the estimate visit, my wife and I were taken aback positively for his relaxed, friendly dealing (he had a new kind of tea with us :), while sharing details and options). In response to our situation of having already dumped too much money on prior upgrades, he found an affordable configuration for our transition from baseboard heating only to central heating/cooling, including the latest tech and conveniences. But our 5 stars are not just for the quality of mateiral and work and the professionalism of the people who came in our house (Dave sent the most friendly pair of men we've had working in the house). Dave is different. Dave communicated in the most professional and friendly way among maybe 20 contractors we've worked with in the past decade on Long Island as home owners (he reminded us of the genteel South, without the occasional lack of experience with diverse customers LOL). We didn't sense any dishonesty (very common in most home repair/service businesses esp. up here in New York) and that made us very comfortable with Dave. He did ask for a few extra days when he had to juggle different projects, including his gramdma's house that needed urgent attention. But he didn't play games with us, didn't treat us like however the "market demand tells" (as one contractor blurted out recently), and he LISTENED. This guy is something. Give him a chance, and if the project at our home was an exception, share a different perspective. The project was finished on time, pitch perfect, and Dave said he's even willing to come back and calibrate the air flow and add an extra vent. We were already surprised when he sent his guys to double check and clean up. So, I guess customers should communicate our demands and give hard working people a chance to rectify small things after they do all the major and difficult work right (it's a different matter if someone messes up major things or uses a generally problematic approach). As a Long Islander, it makes me proud to see people like this reflect our culture -- not the weirdos especially of the older generation who take customers for granted (I've come across a bit too many of those, including among the younger business owners). I would love to see KinTech grow and to maintain the very, very, very friendly professionalism that Dave has established. KinTech and Dave and the two friendly guys all get 5 stars and a big invisible smiley for the phenomenal job in December 2021.

He showed up with his partner to access our situation and took his time to troubleshoot. The work required extra work and he personally took that on to work with the manufacturer. He was able to source and install a new unit for us at a good price and even better timing. He was available to answer any and every question we had. Him and his partner were respectful of our property and situation. In this time of being weary of contractors, he quieted our fears. We plan on using Chris for our next project. I cannot recommend him enough and thankful for making our home warm and comfortable again.

I got his call at 11:15 and he was there at 11:45. I have an old 3.5 ton compressor which is not new. Fearing the worst, I was concerned about leaving my wife home to deal with it. Usually, I get 3 phone calls after the typical man-splaining to my wife about why we need to spend thousands. My wife called me at 12:30 and I was bracing for it. To my surprise, she said that Matt was done and it was only a small part which needed replacement. Thanks for your honesty and responsiveness even though we're not a service customer. We highly recommend Tim for all your plumbing needs…read more We had several issues with plumbing in our home. We called up Tim and spoke to him right away. He quickly scheduled an appointment to come to our home and assess the problem. He told us it was likely our water heater, which was very old and had never been drained. He also told us we needed to install a p-trap on the line out from the washer to prevent odors from getting back into the washer. He quoted us a price, and when we compared his quote to others, he was right in line with everyone else. The water heater we had was something of a custom design, but he was able to find a replacement of the same brand and design and have it installed within a couple weeks after we first called him. He did great work, and it was all done very quickly, but what was even better is what happened after. The next day, the line from our washer started leaking. When Tim installed the p-trap, he had to bend the plastic hose that was already there into place to fit on the p-trap. This caused a small crack in it. He came back immediately, identified the problem, then went out and bought a new hose, came back and replaced the whole thing, all free of charge. That is service you cannot put a price on. You can bet the next time we need plumbing work done, our first call will be to Tim.
