Joe and his team are always extremely knowledgeable and a really nice group of people. Joe has an after hours messaging center which is 24 hours, and his team is always well equipped. Joe himself even came out a couple of times to help us with things. We are very pleased with the work and promptness that Joe and his team provide. A very stand up guy who stands behind his work, and has excellent employees! Highly recommended!

It's old enough to have a family, a career, a mortgage... Uhh. Time for a replacement. After speaking to 7 companies and getting 3 quotes, I landed on Nick's company. Almost immediately after reaching out, he was asking questions, requesting pictures, and really trying to get an idea of my space. He was kind, thoughtful, and extremely communicative. Unlike one company I dealt with, he was also open to giving me multiple options. There were no pushy sales tactics. He definitely isn't a salesman, he's an installer. Replacing your entire HVAC system is not cheap, and honestly, it is intimidating if you don't know a darn thing about SEER ratings and tonnage. I can research just about anything, so I really appreciated being given the information and having the opportunity to take it back and analyze it for myself and compare. The entire install went great, the team was courteous, respectful and seem to work well with Nick! They were joking around like old friends while working their tails off getting the install done. FYI he is not located on long Island any more, but that doesn't stop him from providing excellent service. He is on the island all the time. We're extremely happy with everything so far and we couldn't have picked a nicer person to do it with. Ps: if you need further proof that he's an all around great guy, he loves animals, too!!

I went from one zone of central air and converted it to 2 zones with ac and heat. To say it has been a disaster has been an understatement. When they put the new system in I told them of a particular room that didn't stay as cool as the rest of the house. They said they would make sure to take care of it. Well the new system actually works worse than my 20 year old single zone system. A few highlights On one hot day the thermostat upstairs is set at 68. My sons room is well over 73 degrees The hot room that was a problem is 74-75 degrees on hot days even though my thermostat is set at 68. The basement renovation they decided to put only one vent all the way on the back by the Bilco door. In the winter the basement is 61 degrees while the thermostat is set at 70 on the first floor. They had to come out here 4 times before they realized they wired the system incorrectly when they installed it I don't expect exact temperature match with the thermostats in every room. But when I drop 40k plus a new system it should be pretty damn close. They often send guys out and say they will come back or talk to the owner about the problem. They never do. Stay far away

That's where I'm at with Hartmann's & Esposito. Honestly, I was going to write up a whole review detailing everything that happened, but it's not worth my time explaining it. Just know that there is a reason this place has 2 stars on Yelp. The issues others have had with contacting, quoting fair pricing, and doing a legitimate job are all unfortunately true. I had actually used Hartmann's and Esposito in the past and my experiences were decent, but this most recent circumstance (with, to give some details, my furnace and parts that were not actually needed and never completely fixing the issue they created) has left the ultimate bad taste in my mouth. Overall, the whole situation from the start felt like I was being taken advantage of and not once did I actually feel like my time and my satisfaction with this company and the work they did was important. There's a real lack of responsibility, integrity, ownership, honesty, and respect taking place with Hartmann's and Esposito. He went on to say that I needed a new one and that it would cost about $750. When I questioned the amount, he replied, "Well, it's not 7 dollars," and laughed. I did not appreciate that remark--it came across as unprofessional given the situation. I got a second opinion and it turned out I needed to bleed the air in the pipes and it worked. The whole experience left me feeling taken advantage of and disappointed in the service.

June 28 he called again saying he lost his phone, apologized for the delay and would be back the next day. It's now July 9 and I haven't heard from him since. Ended up contacting another company who advised it was not a motor issue AT ALL and was able to source a valve. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Meanwhile my family, including my 90 year old mother were suffering in this unbearable heat. Horrendous, dishonest, unreliable service.
