We just had a new heat pump/ac installed by Tempco and are so pleased with the whole experience. The installers were neat, efficient and very professional. They were careful to protect my floors while transferring the old equipment and installing the new units. They were on time, polite and worked through the oppressive heat and air pollution we experienced today. I was especially pleased that they solved a few cosmetic details that I had concerns about. DO NOT USE TEMPCO GLEN COVE - FRAUDS , AWFUL SERVICE. RUDE. Obviously they deserve a ZERO. TEMPCO told us we needed a new coil for our AC unit. Cost us $4,600. This didn't fix the problem. it won't blow cold air on hot days. They came back once, told us it was fixed. It wasn't. A year later, still not fixed. Fact - they claim the service is good for one year - they came to the house once and never fixed the problem. They were contacted numerous times. They never proposed a solution. They will not answer the phone, zero customer service, zero warranty , obviously they DO NOT stand by their work nor do they care about customer satisfaction. Additionally the very sensitive receptionist - so watch what you say. Don't complain or be disappointed after spending $4,600 and your AC is no better than the day before they serviced your unit. The office receptionist is arrogant , short tempered and obnoxious. Probably rudest person I've ever done business with. Of course she hangs up on you. She's a coward. After numerous attempts to contact the owner , he finally answered the phone after I borrowed a co workers phone to call. He has not responded since and of course will not answer. I have used Tempco to install a new central air conditioning unit and more recently a generator. The company sets a high standard for itself and it shows. The employees are extremely helpful and respond quickly to any concerns or questions. After completion of my generator I had a non related heating issue and reached out to Matt who returned to my house within twenty minutes (on a Friday night) and fixed my heat. Had an excellent experience with Tempco replacing our entire A/C system. They were easy to get in touch with, professional, prompt and left no mess in the house. They are a certified partner with PSEG cool homes, which means we get a rebate and they must perform an efficiency evaluation (Manual J) and meet all standards on the Quality Installation checklist. We were impressed with the very pleasant demeanor of the Office Manager, Julie, with whom we made initial contact. She set the tone for what would become an enjoyable relationship-- Matt came to our house, provided ideas/suggestions, and listened to our concerns. The mini-split installation took roughly 8 hours from wiring to instructions on how to enjoy the device, and we were very pleased with the professionalism of all involved. My heating broke last week overnight and Tempco sent someone over immediately. A repairman was there first thing in the morning. He was not only friendly and professional, but got my heat working in no time and did not overcharge me. I have also used Tempco for a prior air conditioning problem and had a similar great experience. I highly recommend them! read more

I've been using them with no problems for five years. But when the central ac breaks down be careful! Their emergency 24 hr service is clearly laughable and when the guy comes he just presses some buttons and nothing is fixed. The guy doesn't even know how to troubleshoot the situation. My husband found out better information online. I waited 8 days for service then 1 full day for ten minutes of reassurance and it's still not working. I call three times and wait another day. At this point I am close to calling better business bureau to get some service. Save your money and go elsewhere. Save your pride and get blown off elsewhere. I don't know why I am paying for this level of incompetence. It's insulting. I'm off to the bbb website. Would NOT recommend. read more

I have known the owners of this company for many years and could not be happier with their work! The gentleman who came to our home was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful in answering all of my questions. He explained exactly what was wrong with the system and how it was fixed, which helped me feel confident that the problem was addressed properly. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! Engaged this company when my HVAC unit began to short cycle (turn off and on continuously). They came out for a hefty $140 (plus tax) charge for 1/2 hour. Diagnosed a faulty switch and tech said I bypassed it and all you would need is a to replace that part but everything should be good to go. AC resumed working for less than 24 hours before it repeated the short cycling. On their second visit my compressor was bad now and over charged. I waited almost 2 days after which I was told that the replacement compressor part was $1800 and my total bill would be about 3 grand. As this was the second time the compressor was being replaced I looked up the part number and found multiple places that would sell the part to me for about $600, which means industry persons would pay typically less. OVER a 300% markup. I am all for businesses staying in business but this is borderline extortion. When I brought this to their attention and asked what they could do, I just received an email stating "I spoke with the owner, he is not interested in going further with this." from the receptionist. I am now finding alternate companies to look at my HVAC and also figure out if any of TEMPCO's work caused further issues. I will report back once my problem is resolved.
