system has been in a few years. mini splits, installed by baker with no issues. this year the system shutdown, baker came to repair it. they isolated the issue to one unit in a kids bedroom. they exposed the unit and capped the wiring, told us to use caution around the unit as power was still flowing, told us they would try and source parts, they charged us for the call and left. More than a week later no follow up. I called to be told they did not sell that make of unit anymore and they could not get parts. I asked for a referral for someone who could complete the repair but was told to do an internet search. In short, they did half a job, left exposed wiring in a child's bedroom and did not have the decency to either call me to tell me they could not finish the job or recommend someone who could. If you are looking for customer service I suggest you look elsewhere. In reply to your comment on my review, I have no record of you ever trying to contact me after the in home visit. Not even a voicemail. My issue is with how you left the job not the function of the units up to that time. read more

Called every week for 2+ months and could not get a call back. Had to go out of pocket to just fix the parts that they stole from my unit. My ac split stopped working shortly after we moved into our new house. Called Baker for a repair. Charged $200+ just to walk in the door. I was told that a control board needed to be replaced in the non-functioning split. At the time of the visit I also asked about several other jobs in the house, including installation of units in some rooms. After a week went by with no quote for the repair or other jobs, I called. That day a quote was sent for the repair of my split - $5k, no joke. I then asked for a quote for replacement - $5k. Curious about material cost I explored some websites selling control boards for my unit - the most expensive was about $500 and replacing the board would probably take about 2 hours. They made some good money ($200) just walking in the house and spending maybe 45min looking at my units, then sent me a super inflated quote to repair it. Also never received a quote for the other work I was considering, not that I would use them after this experience. Buyer beware, wouldn't call these guys if you are looking to repair anything. read more

I live in an old house and was interested in getting ductless AC w/heat. I got a few quotes but finally went with Kris/Baker Air because: 1. The price was within my expectation. Baker Air was not the lowest or the highest quote I got. Thought it was reasonable. 2. Kris was helpful answering my questions and very thorough in the whole process about setting up my system 3. Kris was responsive; unlike other HVAC companies, some never got back to me with a quote after the initial visit, while others didn't even bother with responding to my initial request for a quote. It is not my job to chase you down for an answer. Kris gets it: you snooze, you lose! Once I accepted Kris's quote, he was very helpful in getting me the information for a permit with the town. This made the process much smoother than I anticipated. I always got a response from him within the same day. Kris and his team came to my house and got the system installed within one day (even though he initially told me it would take a day and a half). They were friendly and kept my place clean (they wore booties on my new hardwood floors - thank you!) His father Paul & crew are great people and can tell they're a great team. Heater went dead at 11 at night. Like an 80s movie, I hired multiple hitmen (read as: called every heating company in a 10 mile radius). Not only were they first to call back, they arrived 40 minutes earlier than promised. He brought his own booties (with small children in house this was a big, big plus), he was patient with my questions, efficient with the work and walked me through how I could do the repairs myself in the future, were I so inclined. Only when specifically asked did he talk about any other repairs I might have done. And was honest with me about estimates on how much life left my hot water heater still has.
