They were careful to protect my floors while transferring the old equipment and installing the new units. They were on time, polite and worked through the oppressive heat and air pollution we experienced today. I was especially pleased that they solved a few cosmetic details that I had concerns about. They were quick to get back to us with the estimate and then scheduled the work as soon as they got the unit. I would highly recommend calling Tempco for your HV/AC needs.

DO NOT USE TEMPCO GLEN COVE - FRAUDS , AWFUL SERVICE. RUDE…read more Obviously they deserve a ZERO. TEMPCO told us we needed a new coil for our AC unit. Cost us $4,600. This didn't fix the problem. it won't blow cold air on hot days. They came back once, told us it was fixed. It wasn't. A year later, still not fixed. Fact - they claim the service is good for one year - they came to the house once and never fixed the problem. They were contacted numerous times. They never proposed a solution. They will not answer the phone, zero customer service, zero warranty , obviously they DO NOT stand by their work nor do they care about customer satisfaction. Additionally the very sensitive receptionist - so watch what you say. Don't complain or be disappointed after spending $4,600 and your AC is no better than the day before they serviced your unit. The office receptionist is arrogant , short tempered and obnoxious. Probably rudest person I've ever done business with. Of course she hangs up on you. She's a coward. After numerous attempts to contact the owner , he finally answered the phone after I borrowed a co workers phone to call. He has not responded since and of course will not answer. So if you're looking to spend too much money, get TONS OF ATTITUDE, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND get HUNG UP ON, call TEMPCO GLEN COVE !!

They canceled the appointment because it was drizzling outside. Jessica, who contacted me to cancel the appointment told me that someone would get in touch with me within 2-3 days. So, someone should have called to reschedule by May 5. This never happened!! On May 8, I reached out on their company website without any response. On May 9, 2022, I called and got transferred to their answering service. Again, there was no call back! I did the same outreach the next day and Wednesday May 11,2022. I had also written an email to the owner , Mike on May 10,2022. There were a total of 5 outreach attempts without a response, only leaving my cell number for them to call back. Finally, I was fed up with their lack of responsiveness to my calls and e-mails. When I left my third phone message today with their answering service, I told the receptionist that if I didn't get a call back today that I would be writing a negative review and I would be taking them to small claims court to get half of my contract money ( $543 ) returned to me. Only today did I finally get a call back from the owner Mike. He was nasty, when he should have been apologetic to me. He told me that he's dropping me as a customer. He said he was going to come to my home , which I took as an implied threat to me and my family. He also lied to me and told me that he contacted me 5 times. This is a blatant lie as I just spent the last few hours checking my phone records for my mobile phone and landline. He only called back after I threatened to take him to court for breach of contract, which seemed to be what he was doing by avoiding calling me back and providing the services that I paid for in my yearly contract. I strongly urge anyone considering doing business with this company to seek another alternative. He is a nasty owner and can not be trusted. It is virtually impossible to reach anyone by phone and they certainly don't value their customers. I told him that I would give home 3 days from today to return half of my contract money. I don't expect that he will do this. So, I will likely be seeing him court in the near future!! I'd like to give ZERO stars, but apparently I can't do it !!

I have used 5 Star Mechanical for several years, and they used to be responsive, thorough, and easy…read moreto deal with. Apparently, at some point, that version of the company quietly left the building. In early June, I had them out for an ongoing air-pressure/airflow issue. The technician looked at the system and told me someone would get back to me with options to correct it. While he was there, he also fixed a loose thermostat wire and recommended that I sign up for their service agreement, which supposedly included preferred scheduling and service. That sounded reasonable, so I signed up. It is now late August. I am still waiting for the magical follow-up call. Over the past several months, I have called repeatedly. The woman who answers the phone tells me, every single time, that she needs to speak with Tommy and that Tommy will call me back. Tommy has now been "calling me back" for several months. At this point, I can only assume his phone requires a replacement part that is also waiting on a callback from Tommy. After enough unanswered calls, I finally asked for a refund on the service agreement. After all, the entire reason I bought it was because I was told it would provide preferred service. Apparently, "preferred service" at 5 Star Mechanical means you are preferred to the customers whose calls they ignore even longer. I was then informed that the service agreement is basically non-refundable. Fantastic. So to recap: they encouraged me to purchase a service agreement promising better access and preferred scheduling, failed to follow up on the problem they already came out to inspect, ignored months of phone calls, repeatedly promised callbacks that never happened, and then told me I cannot get my money back. At this point, I'd get more value out of wiping my ass with the service agreement, which may actually be its most practical use Had they simply told me in June, "We have no intention of getting back to you," I could have called another HVAC company and saved myself an entire summer of chasing them. Instead, I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt because I had been a customer for years and because I had literally paid for a service agreement that was supposed to make this process easier. Lesson learned. I don't expect a company to drop everything the moment I call. I do expect that after five calls over several months, returning one of them shouldn't require an act of Congress This is not one missed call or one scheduling mistake. This has been months of being brushed off while holding a paid service agreement that appears to guarantee absolutely nothing. 5 Star Mechanical used to be a company I recommended. Based on my experience this summer, I would now recommend keeping your credit card in your wallet until you have a very clear understanding of what their "preferred service" actually gets you.

Two guys came to my place, and were very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I explained I had 3 kids under the age of 5 and no heating, and we were coming into winter. They said to expect a quote soon, and gave me verbal estimates which I instantly approved and explained that I was anxious to move forward, almost irrespective of cost. After weeks had gone by and no quote, I followed up with them saying that I'd never received a quote, for which they apologized, and said they'd get me one. Now, several weeks have gone by and still nothing. If they were too busy, or didn't feel confident that they could do this job, they should have just said so. In any case, I was excited to work with who seemed like good guys, based closely -- on my very street. But ultimately they wasted a couple of months of my time. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because they were friendly and actually showed up the first time to at least look at my current heat pump.
