I called in May to get my heating system checked for the winter prior to leaving town for a while. They scheduled and moved my first appointment to end of June. First appointment was free money thrown at them where they literally came in, and stared at the system WITHOUT doing any work. They didn't even open it. They told me they'd follow up in two days with an estimate for the work they'd need to do to maintain my system. I have never heard back from them. I called them for months every 2 then 1 week. They always told me the same thing: we will look at your case sir and get back to you. Today we are in mid October and I have yet to hear back from this so called company. A complete scam and I am going to fight to get my money back and to get these fraudulent people out of scams to run. Worse possible experience so far. read more

Pro: - Owner (Jim) was very knowledgeable and helpful - Reasonable cost for purchase and installation of Carrier systems. - Technician (Mike) was very competent and answered all my questions fully. - they honored the warranties and labor costs were reasonable Con: - Service was slow. We were without AC for 4 weeks. Either they should hire more technicians or prioritize service of existing customers over third party calls. - Customer Service needs improvement. I did not get even one unsolicited email or text assuring me that they were working to fix the problems. I felt like I had to chase them down with numerous emails, voice-mails and phone calls. - Maybe it is just bad luck, but both our Carrier systems went out at the same time, just when a heat wave hit. One of those systems was just installed last year. Makes me wonder about the reliability of Carrier equipment or the installation. read more

They charged me 1k to relocate my unit. Told me it was OK to have my electrician wire it and power it up, after we did that my circuit boards blew. He pointed the finger at the Electrician, who actually does work for him all the time. After back and forth he charged the Electrician for the boards and wiped his hands clean. I had Master Mechanical in Framingdale help me bring the unit back up. It had 0 refrigerant in it!!! These guys are BAD so please use at your own risk! MASTER MECHANICAL has excellent customer service! Call them if you need anything done, stay away from Air Design. read more

My central air unit broke July 4th weekend. I called them at midnight for an emergency and they called me back right away. They tried everything so it would be fixed but we had to wait for another part from the manufacturer which was just installed today. Their customer service was amazing and the technician was great. I'm happy to now have a reliable company if I need future maintenance. read more

These guys installed my AC 4 years ago. I got a call from them about scheduling a maintenance call. So I called them to schedule. They said thy would be here on Tuesday between 1-5 PM, but not to worry if it was after 5 PM because they work later. I waited home all day until after 8 PM when I finally realized they were not coming. I did not receive a call from them about why they didn't show or to reschedule in the 3 days since. This is not the way to do business. I'm done with them. I will find someone reliable to maintain my units. read more

Mid July and right before the heat wave we were able to book an appointment within just a few days as opposed to other's wait times of over 2 weeks. Mike not only came quickly but did an excellent job going above and beyond showing us how the units worked. He worked quick to find the solution to our issue and resolved it almost immediately. These Thieves installed a split AC unit in my home almost 2 years ago that never worked. First they said it was a hole in the refriderant pipe so they "fixed it" and left. 3 days later the weather cooled down and it was over for the season and we shut the unit down. . Next May we try and turn the AC on and it just blew hot air. They come look at it and said they need to run a test and we would be without AC for at least a week or 2 . I asked the owner to please just come fill the system with freon and do his test in September once the heat breaks. He reluctantly agreed, they came back twice to refill the system, thank god it wasn't a real hot summer. . September comes and they didn't show up. My wife calls them to come do the test. They came and put their gauges on and left. 2 weeks later my wife calls and says when is the tech coming by to check if there's a leak in the condenser unit ? Of course they had no idea what she was talking about and she had to tell them what was going on again!!! They came and the guy told my wife there's a leak in the condenser. So he was gonna tell the owner and he would contact us to tell us the next step. That was in October. Fast forward to beginning of March. My wife calls and of course they didn't know us, again. After a few calls they told us they contacted carrier and they would let us know the outcome about the warranty .after another 3 weeks I had enough of my wife calling them and getting the run around. I sent them an email telling them if I don't hear back within 3 days we are going to court. So 3 days later I get an email from them saying they are ready to install the new unit and we set up a date. I get an email the day before the install and they tell me it's gonna rain so we can't come, meanwhile it never rained. We set up another day the 28 of April for the install at 3:30. I email them that day to say I'm leaving work early I'll be home by 3 pm. 3:45 I call their office and they have no ides what I'm talking about. They tell me they will have the guy I was dealing with call me. He calls me up saying his wife was sick and had surgery and someone from the office was suppose to have emailed me. . That was the last straw, I found another company to come take care of this AC problem. I'll see them in court!!! read more

I have no issue with the Technician R, who seemed nice and fairly knowledgable. However there is a BIG customer service issue with the home office, especially since the company was sold a few years back. (We have been their customer for many years and even had both units serviced in April of this year. ) However, now they seem to be only interested in getting your money. Their service & "come & look" fees are higher than others in the area and they are not very accommodating, as they want to charge you for any little thing, even if they cannot repair the unit. Secondly, when the person came to check out my unit and diagnose it, he also turned off the working unit to the 2nd floor. We did not realize the 2nd unit no longer worked until 10PM that night when we went to turn it on and we had to sleep without AC on one for the hottest nights of the summer. (Yes we did check the breaker switches and they were on but no power to the unit.) We called AD 1st thing in the morning and they claimed that he did not touch the 2nd unit, (which we agree he did not because that would have been an additional fee) and so now this company wanted to charge us another fee to come and see what the problem was with the 2nd unit -- when there was NO problem with it the day before he came? Shouldn't it have been obvious that something may have happened after he worked on the 1st unit? Couldn't they have at least checked? The complete obtuseness of the rep was very frustrating. She just kept repeating the same thing - "he never touched the 2nd unit." Anyway after having a battle with their customer service rep on the phone, we called another reputable company, P to come and see what the problem was and were told that the previous technician removed the outside joint Disconnect Plug, put it on the side somewhere (as we could not find it right away) and inadvertently (we hope) forgot to put it back and that is why the 2nd unit did not work either. The minute P's tech plugged it back in, the 2nd fl unit worked with absolutely no problem. (We have this as a documented fact.) So overall it turned out to be a very bad experience for us with AirDesign Inc. and we will never use them again. read more
