I started going here for coffee before work on weekdays. A few customers often will be waiting outside chomping at the bit and the owner still wont open until 8:02 after some dawdling. Came here to detox away my problems and got an Asian chicken salad. Babe got a California club wrap without bacon and cheese. Both taste excellent. Hers was fresh and the chicken was flavorfully grilled. My salad is a different ballpark though. The flavors worked well together. Everything was diced finely so each bite was full of flavors. The crunchiness of the wonton strips and the nuts combined nicely with the burst of mandarin orange. Very yummy. read more

Hidden jewel alert!! This place is amazing! The Chile Burrito almost left my boyfriend in tears it was so good. I had a Vietnamese sandwich which was equally as awesome. The owners were super sweet and the brownies they serve at the counter are to die for. The only negative thing I had to add (not worthy of deducting a star) their back patio needs a cleaning and a makeover:( It was dirty and not very inviting. We moved inside to eat. The food here is about as good as it gets. My personal favorites are the Cubano and Asian Fried Chicken Sandwich but you really can't go wrong with anything. That said they've seemed a little off lately as they've been closed for brunch the past two times I've tried to go even though there was no indication online or in the store that they would be closed. Totally tried this place based on the reviews and the fact that it was snowing since we would be walking. No one else was there when we walked in, but while we were eating and then leaving, more and more people were coming in. We got two different sandwiches and they were served rather quickly. I'm so happy to live near Dash - the food and coffee is amazing, there's free wifi, and it's a wonderful place to just hang out for a few hours. There's even a nice little hidden garden in the back! Food is good, IF you can get it. I waited for over 20 minutes for soup and fries just now, and when I inquired into how much longer it would be I was told "a while." The lunch rush was there so I knew it was busy, but at least they could've told me there was a longer wait time than usual. I would've went somewhere else. One of my favorite spots for a quick breakfast / lunch. The breakfast sandwich is awesome. Every day they have at least two soups (one veggie) which are pretty damn good. For lunch I've had both the Rachel and the Mexican torta, both were great. When the weather's nicer they have outdoor seating as well. Could not recommend this place enough. read more

I recently went I dash for Saturday brunch and no surprise, it was FABULOUS! My mother ordered the Benedict, I got the huevos rancheros, and my partner order the Cuban. Yay! Healthy, delicious food at a fair price right near my job! Went in today for the first time and got the Southwestern salad with grilled tofu. Delicious! Everything tastes so light and fresh. The ambiance is nice, too. I haven't tried the coffee yet, but I'm excited to try it and use their cute little "bar" made from an old dresser :-) I am a bit worried, though. It's in a weird location, off a little curved side street and it seemed pretty empty. It was lunchtime and right across the street from a hospital, so I was surprised. Hope other people come in and discover this cute little spot! I saw on the breakfast menu that they have lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry syrup. The best sandwich shop in Brighton, if not all of Boston. There is not a bad sandwich on the menu, I know this with certainty because I have tried them all. I've now been here twice and both times found myself disappointed at how LONG it took for food to come out. The first time, we ordered a salad and a wrap - neither required cooking at all, just assembly. We waited about 25-30 minutes, in a near empty cafe. The food was good, but basic. This most recent time, it took 15 minutes to get a sandwich (again, only assembly required) with four people working the kitchen and in my 5 minute walk home, the sandwich became so saturated with balsamic glaze that it was pretty much inedible. Having lived in the neighborhood for a while, I surprisingly had never been to Dash Cafe before. It was a cute little cafe with a nice sandwich and salad selection. I ordered the grilled beef sandwich with grilled skirt steak, jalapeno jack cheese, chipotle aioli, tomatoes, and arugula, on ciabatta roll.
