Wraps are good, but if you get a hot wrap, they are usually microwaved, which can make the meat a bit chewy. The staff is always nice

Can't write enough about how great this shop is. The staff are so sweet and friendly. You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in. Service is so speedy - seriously, the staff would win a sandwich prep competition! The prices are very affordable and the space is spotlessly clean. This is a must-go for any and all of your breakfast or lunch sandwich needs! read more

REALLY GOOD sandwich joint at the BC area. I am surprised I never got the chance to stop by here! Flatbreads and El Pelon are the best. I got their famous Chicken Caesar wrap with an Arizona-- it was great! Give you a choice of bacon or avocado to add on. Service here is incredible as well. The owner and the cook are so friendly! I will be back ASAP. read more

Boston college legend. Always the old reliable and friendly staff. A must visit when coming to campus

Delicious and been in business for 30 years, that tells you something. Very hospitable.

I had a meatball wrap that my wife brought me, now that was a tasty surprise. I just asked her to run in and get me something and boy did she deliver. The wrap was piping hot, full of tasty, full size meatballs. I loved the right amount of cheese and sauce, because this could have turned into a hot mess. The speed of service for made to order food was especially satisfying since this is a huge college campus. The parking is good, with a lot to the left of the restaurant. I noticed many people illegally parking just to run in and grab a bite. That tells you that the food is worth it when people are ready to risk it all. read more

Great food and an incredibly kind owner and staff! The menu has a lot of options and the portions are large.

Overall: 9.25 Taste: 9/10 - The flat breads are good and use real ingredients. Even if everything isn't made fresh to order the ingredients still have good flavor. Price: 10/10 - The breakfast items here are a really good deal with being only a few dollars for a filling meal. Service: 10/10 - The owner has been operating the business for 30 years! He is very friendly and always has a smile on his face. Ambiance: 8/10 - The restaurant has no seating and is more of a grab and go place. There are some nice decorations showing the history of the restaurant. read more

PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE. we got completly scammed as the guy swiped the card 5 different times, one time he put in the wrong information so he could give us a receipt saying it didn't go through, just so he could try and cover it up. Do NOT eat here. read more

This spot is another BC classic. The service is always top notch and very fast. The sandwiches are more like burritos but are always very filled with meat, cheese and sauce no matter which option you choose. I've stopped by whenever I had to grab a quick lunch or dinner when in a rush and they have always delivered a great meal. Will definitely go again very soon when I forget to eat before class. read more

Great owner!! Such a great local spot that has been owned by the same guy for years. Excellent food. Very quick service.

Just went here for first time. Noticed expired chips on counter. Given long shelf life of chips seems weird. Told owner. And handed him bag. He said thanks. So sorry. I'll handle. Then put them back on counter and went downstairs. If they are expired why the heck would he put them back. He's handling later? Yes you should later. But why not Nate min throw that one out since u know it's expired then go through balance. Cmon. That's so bad. I guarantee if I go back tomorrow still expired Now makes me think of what happens if meats get old etc. sounds like they will prob see if they can still serve them so they don't have to throw anything out. Will send to health dept. gross read more

Pros: -Good service -Empty around 7:30 on a Monday -Quick food turnaround time -- Chicken a la Pesto ($8.55 with tax) Strong emphasis on the "a la" here. Instead of a piece of grilled chicken, nice slab of mozzarella, and sliced tomatoes that I expect from a Chicken Pesto sandwich, I was surprised to find diced chicken, tomatoes, and lettuce, and just a very thin slice of mozzarella (looked like provolone) that wasn't even noticeable flavor-wise on a pita. The pita was fine but not strong enough to support all of the wet components so it just kind of fell apart (a la a burrito). However, the pesto is refreshing and works well with the fresh tomatoes and crisp lettuce. The sandwich is not heavy (I actually kind of felt like I was eating a chicken caesar salad), although the olive oil does get everywhere. Decent value as it serves two meals for an average-sized person. read more

Unfortunately very short-staffed. That's not to say they can't handle a crowd ("they" meaning the ONE guy I've seen working there who is incredibly efficient but criminally overworked). Standard quality ingredients; not mind-blowingly delicious but very good, and you can count on very generous portions. read more

Love the Mediterranean Chicken or Don Quixote! Get the hots. Note, watch when your sandwich is being made, if the guy is cutting multiple sandwiches at once, he literally jumps from sandwich to sandwich slicing them in half and it is quite entertaining. It is a little expensive, but they accept Eagle Bucks, so I think with the BC demographic, they can get away with it. Still a quality sandwich! read more

Flat Breads - "Microwaved Burrito" - Sandwiches Near Me - Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts

Flat Breads sustained me, nutritionally and spiritually, during my senior year at Boston College. Because the Fates conspired to grant the sandwich shop the ability to accept the BC meal card, I ate there with as much regularity as I did the dining hall. The place excels at what it does for three reasons: 1) Pita quality - Aside from taquerias, there aren't many places where you can order a wrap and be certain that the filling won't burst through and ruin your Boston College sweatshirt. Thanks to a combination of skilled assembly and sturdy dough, you can be confident that your meal will not erupt. 2) Flavor - Anybody can throw lettuce and chicken into a wrap and call it a Caesar. Flat Breads has a tangy marinara, well-seasoned eggplant and protein, and a host of other homemade items that mean the difference between "junk you get at a Taco Bell" and "Wow, this has legitimate taste!" 3) Service - With a consistency measured in years, the employees and owner are top notch. Friendly, quick, and responsive. I've gone fifty times and have never had a bad experience. If you're in the area, or matriculate at BC, make this part of the equation. You'll thank me. And if not, don't worry about it. Just thank them. read more

So I've lived here for almost 4 years and only this year have I started going to FlatBreads. I waited til I've tried a few different sandwiches before reviewing. SUCH a great little place! They have tons of sandwiches to choose from- and all are good. I don't PERSONALLY like the taste of the turkey, though. Otherwise, it's a good deal. The owner is friendly and the person who rolls the sandwiches is an artist! Haha. If you think back to the OLD OLD SNL episodes- Samurai Deli (or something iike that)- that's almost how this sandwich roller is, minus the sword. I recommend the chicken caesar and the philly cheesesteak. My husband likes the chicken pesto... yeah there's lots of goodness to try. And make sure you get a card so your 11th sandwich is free. I wish there was enough room for tables. Maybe there are some outside, but I haven't noticed since it's been so DAMN cold. One other thing I'd like to note- I can't remember the NAME of the sandwich but it was supposed to have mayo. I hate mayo, so I asked for no mayo. And the owner OFFERED a type of vinaigrette dressing on it instead, instead of heeding my request and having a dry sandwich. I was appreciative of that, and the vinaigrette went well with it!! I mean, don't come in here expecting the best of the best, but for what it is, it's great. I am now a loyal customer. read more

I find it ironic that my experience is completely the opposite of Christopher M.'s For a long time (a long time ago) I loved Flat Breads food. My recent experience, however, solidified that I will never be giving them my business again. I went 20 minutes out of my way to go there for dinner before a meeting. I ordered my sandwich and went on my way. When I got to my meeting place there was NO SAUCE on my wrap. Eew gross. It was dry chicken and vegetables in a pita. I had a few bites and then just couldn't deal. I called them to let them know and they suggested I come back with the sandwich to show them (they didn't believe me). I said I couldn't because I had a meeting and they said there wasn't anything they could do. I asked if I could come back another time and get a free wrap and they said they didn't have the authority to do that and I'd have to call the manager during his office hours. So I did just that - the manager apologized, and said I should come in anytime and get my free sandwich. I went back the next week, same day same time, and told the woman at the counter my situation. She proceeded to tell me that she was the one who had made my wrap, she remembered me, and she DID put sauce on it so she wasn't giving me a free sandwich. I told her I had spoken to her manager and he said I should come back to get a free sandwich and she said he didn't tell her about it. She continued to argue with me that she did put sauce on and she wasn't going to give me anything. She was a COMPLETE bitch. I left, angered, and called the manager the next week. He was not very nice on the phone, but said this time he would leave a card at the register with my name on it. Needless to say, I didn't bother going back. While the food may be fine or good, customer service like this doesn't deserve anyone's business. read more

my daughter and I wanted to grab a quick lunch after touring boston college, I believe it was the owner we were talking to but he was so incredibly sweet!! And of course the sandwich was absolutely delicious read more

Good, not great. The man who presumably owns the shop is extremely nice, welcoming, and friendly. It seems like he runs his establishment very well, and tries to cater to every customer as best he can. The wrap I had was covered with sauce. It made it very overpowering and it was tough to distinguish the items that were actually in my wrap, since they all tasted like BBQ sauce. Service was fast, but they should invest in a panini press instead of nuking the whole thing in the microwave and labeling the wrap "Melted." Fast and friendly service but decent food. read more

If I were reviewing simply the service I received and not the food at all, I would give this place all five stars. I am hesitant to give it the three because of the food though. I have learned not to be very picky with my lunches while at work, cause I'm kinda picky. I got the California the other day, it was not what I hoped it would be. It was fairly bland and the tomato tasted funky, and it got soggy well before I was half way though. The old guy behind the counter was really really nice though. He was sweet, we chatted about the weather and the red sox. It was really nice. Too bad the food wasn't as good as the conversation. read more

Hit or miss, but still something I'll really crave every now and then. The Steak and Cheese is absolute perfection - just enough meat/peppers/onions and a combination of provolone and american cheeses melted in a warm tortilla. Just as good is the Caesar Pita Wrap-Up. Take caution here though: don't get it with chicken. It's gnarly and not in a "cool California" way!! There's a lot more on the menu, but I try not to choose anything that looks to creative - whenever I have, it hasn't been a pleasant experience. A few friends really dig the Acapulco - which is pretty good if you like avocado. The Chicken Parm is also good (better quality chicken in this wrap - I think, but it may just be disguised by the marinara sauce??). If you're feeling adventurous and are with a group, these are definitely the kind of wraps you can split. The average cost for a wrap is about $8 so not too bad. They're decently sized, as well. BC kids rejoice, they take Eagle Bucks. All in all, it's a good last-stop easy in/easy out sandwich shop before heading on the pike via Newton. Also very conveniently located near the mountain of all mountains: White Mountain Creamery. read more

Kind of overpriced because each wrap sandwich (served either cold or microwaved) ends up being almost $9 alone. It's right around the corner from me and I usually only go when I just feel like getting something fast and I want a little fresh air as well. The Californian (turkey, bacon, swiss, tomato, and avocado) is usually my go-to pick. Watch the small latino guy who is ALWAYS behind the counter as he operates with impressive machine like speed whipping up 2-3 sandwiches at a time. read more

The price for a cesar wrap, chips and a drink is ~$11.50 now. This is just too much for a sandwitch/chips/drink lunch. They give a discount card (buy 5, get 1 free, so it's 9.50 if you manage follow through with it.) I never seem to have the discount card with me, so I get a new one each time and lose it before I make it back -- because each time I'm more disenchanted with the prices and it's longer before I go back. The wraps are OK, I get the chicken cesar and the quality changes depending on who makes it. The "samurai guy" is great! He is fun to watch, fast and makes a good wrap. They have a good gourmet chip selection too (Herr's horseradish cheddar is fantastic). But ultimately I agree with other reviewers though that the wraps overall aren't really great and cost more than they should. I'm glad to see some competition in the area now and hope Flatbreads will step it up! read more
