First time visiting this darya location as we have been to the one near south coast plaza many times over the year. Inside has the same decor and the menu is also the same. We went there on Saturday for lunch at 1 and the place was 80% empty. I got their salmon dish and substitute the rice with the darya salad. What was weird was that the darya salad had kidney beans in it...not cool daddio...the combination of dates and walnuts and feta and raisins with lentils make sense and goes well, but what the hellmis kidney beans. Over all the food was good and plenty. I was only able to eat half my salmon. The fresh baked bread is also great. read more

What a great place for Persian cuisine! Take-Out service was first class all the way, quality far exceeds anything I've tried in OC. Pricing is very competitive and the portions are very generous. Very amicable phone order taking and accurate. I'm amazed that it took me this long to order here, I can very confidently say the quality is far superior than their counter part's in South Coast Plaza by a wide margin. read more

I got out of the hospital and my sister came to pick me up and take me home. She ordered Persian food yay one of my favorite foods of all time. I have gone to Darya for years since I was a teenager! I absolutely love this restaurant they have the best food!! The chicken and beef is always juicy and tender. I highly recommend coming here. They have the best chicken koobedeh and beef koobedeh. This has been my favorite place since the 90's. The food is excellent quality. The service is always great. And we get seated and served quickly. It's always clean and well lit. They have a huge menu, but I've always stuck to the same thing, chicken koobideh, rice, yogurt with cucumbers, and flat bread with a side salad. Huge portions. Chicken is always so juicy! I would've added a picture but I started eating when that lemony chicken came to me. Leila is the best! She was so quick about grabbing all the random things we asked for. Like different breads, Splenda, extra napkins, and drink refills - she was on top of everything. We always feel so well treated here. And the food is just so good! Our family favorite. We all grew up coming here for our birthdays, graduations, valentines, anniversaries and family times. If you haven't tried it before you have to now. I left a past review raving about their food.... BUT, when it comes to ordering a whole cheesecake for occasions (birthdays and Christmas), I'm very very disappointed with how they "prepare" it for pick-up. First of all, they're a little pricey and it's SUPPOSEDLY a "fancy" restaurant. That being said, they couldn't at least present the cheesecake in one of those cake/donut boxes?? I picked it up a few times having Saran Wrap covering it, placed inside a grocery bag (which I think is tacky) and in a brown paper bag. Ugh! And I've commented/complained about that all those times. I was hoping they would "improve" by now. I guess not. I don't think I would give them anymore business. I'm done. read more

Our friends love Darya restaurant. She would go there at least twice a week. Anyway, we came on a Sat night without any reservation, they were able to seat us. There was live entertainment with a guy playing his acoustic guitar and sang songs from different genres. We ordered Beef Koobideh with Cherry rice, Chicken Koobideh, and 2 Darya salads. Food were delicious. There was a belly dancer came at 7 pm to perform. That was disappointing. She was really not doing the belly dance at all. Anyway, it's entertainment nevertheless. The servers were very friendly and attentive. However, I like the ambiance at the Darya in Costa Mesa more. read more

I don't recommend this place for their awful customer service. I tried this restaurant 6 years ago and I decided to not go there anymore because of their terrible customer service and awful food but today I was on my way home and I decided to base on the Yelp score give this darya restaurant another shot and I just wasted my time. Their hostess was professional but it took a long time and no one showed up to take my order. I decided to not dine in there since there are a lot of awesome Iranian restaurants/ choices in OC; however, when hostess found out that I am leaving she asked a very tall and big waiter who was standing right there " why he delayed taking my order" ? he answered because I was busy but I saw him walking around and he wasn't do anything just pretending to work and denying giving service to their customer. We came here for a dinner for ten, and overall it was a great experience. The interior is beautiful and creates a lovely atmosphere. The only downsides were that they were vacuuming during dinner, which was a bit distracting, and the tablecloths were paper, which felt a little out of place for the setting. That said, the food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and the staff were very attentive. They got all of our orders right with no mix-ups, which is impressive with a larger group. I ordered one of my favorite dishes, a koobideh dinner. I was not able to go to the restaurant so I used a delivery service. The meal was as hot as it should have been, when it arrived. The portions were as if I were dining in. However the skewers of koobideh were very unseasoned and not at all reminiscent of that wonderful flavor I was craving for from the restaurant I constantly frequent. My partner was not surprised as she said the last time there she experienced something similar as if they are not focused on the food. I hope this review helps. read more

I went for lunch with a friend and was instantly struck by the aroma. It filled my soul with happiness and anticipation of what was to come...then the food arrived. I ordered the chicken and steak kabob, it was tender, juicy and made me question how I ever decided to eat anything but this. I am not Persian but I like Mediterranean food. A friend suggested this place and we tried, much to our dissatisfaction. First off, the service is lukewarm, the elderly lady, who was taking food orders, was rather rude and was getting irritated with our questions abt menu and compositions. The kebobs were ok, could be better, hummus and the complementary bread were fine and the lentil soup too.One of the appetizers that was highly rated, the one with crispy rice and vegetable sauce on top, turned out super bad and inedible. Had to throw the entire stuff. Expected restaurant to take out that charges from our bills but they didn't.In all, not a good experience over all. Darya used to be a staple in my weekly rotation when I worked near the Costa Mesa location, and the food was always excellent. I'm happy to say that the Tustin location lives up to those high standards. The filet mignon shish kabob and chicken koobideh are just as flavorful and well-prepared as I remembered. Service, however, could use some improvement. Our assigned server, an older lady, didn't seem very attentive, but thankfully, an older gentleman was consistently keeping an eye on our table and made sure we were taken care of. Overall a worthwhile visit. read more

Darya has, somehow, become a beloved destination for our large family gatherings. Think 15-20 people, all of which seem to equally enjoy the food and atmosphere here. The staff has consistently proven to be infinitely patient - offering to store the cakes, assist with plating, indulging picture requests, etc. Recently we were also there on an evening that had the belly dancer, and the kids loved the show...maybe some of the adults, too. My go to is the chicken soltani - it comes with a barg and a koobideh, and is more than enough for one person. The combination plates are also really good for sharing if that's your vibe. The one star deduction is based on the fact that I would never pay the prices here for a meal on my own. You're paying for the atmosphere, but the food is comparable to any of the fantastic options available in Anaheim's Little Arabia district. read more

While the catering was outstanding--the food was delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive, offering a variety of authentic Mexican dishes--the bartending experience left much to be desired. The bartenders came across as standoffish and unwelcoming, which discouraged many guests, including myself, from returning for another drink. The coordinator seemed a bit overwhelmed but was clearly making an effort to keep things on track and honor the wedding traditions. Overall, this is a nice venue with great potential. With more approachable and hospitable staff, the experience here could truly be exceptional.
