I have never been to Dara Marie's, but I intend to go and take some friends next week when the bakery is open. I was given a cookie today from there, and it was out-of-this-world delicious! I think it was the best cookie I've ever eaten. I can hardly wait to visit the store and see what other goodies I can find. read more

Cookies are HUGE and delicious. I just wish they were open more hours and/or had a West Norman location.

Their Chicken salad made with cool whip is so gross. I don't understand this. If you want a traditional chicken salad don't go here.

It's a good thing I don't live close by! I LOVE these cookies! They have so many options...snickerdoodle, sugar, iced sugar, chocolate chip, peanut butter, brownies. They are all so good! They have pies which are great too. I love coconut cream pie and their did not disappoint. They have super cute cake balls...not a favorite of mine, but I know others love them. I am sad to say I've never eaten lunch here. I've always heard great things. One day, I need to try it. They do have a freezer which has take away meals and cobblers to cook. They all looked super yummy. They have a few small tables for lunch in. There are gift shop items to purchase too. Love this shop and try stop when I am near. Their hours can make that difficult sometimes, but stop in, you won't be disappointed! read more

This is an adorable boutique and bakery. They have gifts, t-shirts, onesies, etc. They also have really good pastries. I got the White Chocolate Raspberry Scone, which packed a lot of flavor but was over-baked. I also got a muffin for tomorrow. The employees were nice. I could see the kitchen with the family (?) baking. The bathroom was clean, decorated with the Hobby Lobby style, and had an old Bible on the table read more

Dara Marie's is a small bakery/gift shop near the Wright's grocery store on Porter that is strong in every aspect of its business. Dara Marie's is famous for its baked good, and it's a reputation well earned. I get their cookies whenever I have the need to bring a baked good to an event. They aren't as cheap as your local grocery store, but they are much much better. Well worth the additional cost. I believe a dozen is around $14 or so, but I could be off about that. They are large and flavorful. There is a lunch special daily in addition to breakfast pastries and quiches. I've had the sausage quiche and it's filling with plenty of cheese. There are a couple of small tables inside the building if you'd like to eat on premises. But, it is not a large restaurant, if there were more than a half dozen people eating it would be cramped. They also sell day old baked goods which are always fantastic. Everyone at DM's is incredibly friendly, the food is of great quality, and the facility is clean and cozy. Can't recommend this place enough for baked goods or a quick lunch. read more

I ordered soup & pasta salad to-go. I asked for the taco soup, but received the potato soup, which was okay, because it was good, although lacking salt. The pasta salad was good. The staff tend to get frantic & apologetic when busy, which is uncomfortable for the customer. It's good to be busy, and they should stop apologizing for it. And if they would just remain calm, they would make fewer mistakes, such as with the soup. read more

It's a little pricey and underwhelming. I was looking forward to trying their homemade chicken salad and was very disappointed. It is not a traditional chicken salad! It's made with cool whip rather than mayo, so if you're expecting something savory you will be very disappointed. Had heard a lot about this place so decided to check it out. After the friendly staff took my order, I took a look at the small gift shop area during my wait. Before I paid, I selected a few of the cookies. While the cookies were large and delicious, I found my lunch items underwhelming. I chose the half chicken sandwich and a half order of pasta salad. The chicken salad was mostly mayonnaise and chicken. I think I tasted one type of nut, but saw no other additions. It was spread on a small piece of wheat bread and was completely void of any of the standard sandwich fare such as lettuce and tomato. The pasta salad wasn't any more promising. It consisted of bow-tie pasta, some type of dressing, possibly olive oil and had a few sprinkles of Italian seasonings. It was so bland, I wound up tossing it. The cookies are a must if you're in the area, but since I don't live nearby, I doubt that I will ever visit again. read more

When they first opened, the iced sugar cookies were flat, like normal sugar cookies. Now the baker is simply lazy and just scoops out huge lumps of dough, so the icing-to-cookie ratio leaves a lot to be desired. Their pies are okay but will never come close to the old Marie Callendar's. As for their chicken salad made with Cool Whip, I won't even eat that crap as a desert, much less a desert sandwich on bread. read more

I don't think they're capable of making anything less than delicious. The chicken salad is really, really good. I'm partial to chicken salad, but Dara Marie's is one of my favorites ever. Their cookies and brownies are amazing too! When we lived in Norman I loved stopping by on Friday afternoon to buy a box of treats for my family for the weekend. Love this place! Had the special today (poppyseed chicken casserole), which comes with a salad and bread roll. They also gave me a sample of the popular chicken salad, which was also very yummy (has some sweetness to it). The homemade salad dressing was good and I wasn't even that excited about the salad, I just figured I might as well pretend to be healthy ;-) But it was great and I ate it up. Now I'm sitting at my desk eating a delicious chocolate chip cookie - YUM! Couldn't tell if it might be dry from the looks of it, but it's perfectly moist inside.
