After a few trips to Temecula wineries now, I've gotten the tour/tasting itch. :) I purchased a groupon special for a 2 1/2 hours tour, 10 tastings(!!!), cheese plate, souvenir glass, and winemaking class. Our "wine education specialist", Sean M., was super inviting, full of comedy, and very knowledgeable about the wine experience and grounds. We began with a tour of the 40-acres estate and 4 tastings of Sean's choice. He educated us on the history of the winery, different types of grape vines growing on the grounds, and wine-making process. Along the tour we got to actually pick and taste a grape. Like a curious kid, I wanted to do this at every other winery I visited!! Sean explained the equipment operation, the mixing process, and allowed us to taste a wine straight from the distilling(?) machine. After the tour, we reconvened inside the winery to have 6 more tastings of our choice. I stuck with the sweets and sparkling wines as I usually do. They were all aromatic, refreshing, and tasty. With so many tastings, constant conversation between guests, and jokes from Sean, there was never a dull moment. I truly enjoyed myself at Danza del Sol and had a fun-filled day! read more

I love wine...and I especially enjoy local wineries. I visited this place during a Sunday afternoon. The winery was pretty busy but I enjoyed the relaxing outside patio with a live singer. I appreciate that the establishment lets you bring outside food to enjoy with your wine. I think this is a perfect place to come and enjoy good music, company and your own food. This winery does not have waiters attending the tables. If you want wine you have to go to one of the bars and ask the bartender to serve you. The wait was not long at the bar, so this was not an issue for us. Each glass of wine is roughly $15 but they do give you a pretty decent amount in each glass. Out of all of the red wines I highly recommend the tempranillo. I appreciated seeing this variety since it is not very common. read more

This was a nice winery to visit. It seemed to cater to a diverse crowd (not just bachelor/bachelorette parties), and seemed very popular even during COVID. The winery staff did a really good job of sanitizing all tables before seating a party. It was a really warm day, and there were cooling fans all over the patio. We tried two different flights, and also ordered the charcuterie plate. Our favorite was the Barbera and also Tempranillo. The charcuterie plate was especially good. It was packaged in a to-go container due to COVID, but probably was the best picnic box I've had. Really friendly service too. read more

The wines at Danza are truly some of the best in Temecula! Not every winery has great options of whites and reds but Danza does! We enjoyed the two tasting-room options. Great ambience. Friendly staff. Not very knowledgeable wine-pourer (but that's probably just luck of the draw). We were so excited to re-visit this winery since we loved it so much when we went a couple years ago. But we were very disappointed. I'm not sure if their wines changed so much, or if our tastebuds changed. But the wines were not good. If you like sweet white wines, you'll be happy here. Otherwise, the wines are so disappointing. If you are a wine connoisseur like me AND you are new to the Temecula wine region, please consider Danza del Sol Winery. Moreover, I've been to many wine regions including Paso Robles, Amador County, Napa, Sonoma, Carneros, WIllamette, Santa Cruz, Saratoga, San Luis Obispo, and Los Gatos. After going to a few wineries and being turned off by the Temecula's wine tasting fee, lack of fee waivers (such as purchasing a bottle to waive the fee), and paying the tasting up front, I almost turned back and left the wine region. Luckily, Danza del Sol Winery (from its recommendation from Mandy V. from South Coast Winery) redeemed the area. We had the pleasure of being hosted by Rohnya "Ronnie" whom we politely asked, "Please choose wines that best reflects Danza del Sol Winery. Indeed, she delivered and my group got to taste the 2016 Vermentino, 2016 Viognier, 2014 Sangiovese, 2013 Barbera, 2014 Meritage, Cabernet Franc, 2013 Petite Sirah, and 2016 Sabrosa. The wines were so great that we purchased at least half a case. Heck, Rohnya "Ronnie" was fun to talk to and she's just a joy to have a conversation with. Danza is everything I hate in a wine tasting place. It's very clean and nice, they have cute wine-themed gifts and novelties, the decor is forcedly winey, and the crowds bustle. This is a very popular place, one where just finding a spot at the counter to get your next taste can be cumbersome, if not annoying. Standing room only unless luck opens up one of the small standing tables. This is easily on the short list for most Temecula visitors and, for that reason, is at the bottom of mine. I don't recall liking any of the wines, but that doesn't mean I didn't. It's simply a matter of personal preference. If you are in a limo or party bus with friends, this is your place. If you like dust, sour wine smells, an old dog on the floor, and a quiet sip with time to discuss the wine with your pourer, it is not. read more

We booked a wine tour with a Groupon and we were absolutely blown away by the experience! Danza del Sol has a huge variety of different kinds of wines, and there wasn't a single one we didn't like. We actually decided to join the wine club right there, because we knew we wanted to take home at least four bottles that day and we would be back for more! Our tour guide, Walter, made it such an inviting experience, and he was so knowledgeable of the winemaking process and had a few tricks during the tasting that I won't spoil here. As part of the tour, we even got to try a sample of wine that hasn't been bottled yet. It felt like a real VIP experience. He also guided us about how to taste and savour each wine and that helped us narrow down our picks for our bottles! I can't wait to return back for more tastings. read more

Visiting from the East Coast, Virginia. My friend and I decided to do the horse back riding through the vineyard along with the wine sampling and we choose Danza Del Sol! Upon arriving there were plenty of vehicles outside, which is always a good sign. There were also lots of people outside on the patio area socializing and having a good time. All great signs. Once we walked in David helped us and served us all night. Phenomenal service! Very personable and knowledgeable of the wine. We purchased 3 bottles and they gave us a free bottle! Awesome offer! We booked the tour through Groupon which included a tour of the vineyard and 10 tastings. Reservations were a breeze via email with a quick response. Our tour guide was Sean Miller and he did an excellent job! He gave us a thorough education on the wine making process and didn't make anyone feel stupid about their questions. Especially me because I don't drink alcohol at all let alone wine and I had no clue what I was doing but I came with my sisters. All the white wines tasted pretty much the same to me at first but by the 5th tasting and red wine tastings I was able to taste the difference which got me excited! I found out I'm a red wine type of girl! Plus my sister found the wine she's been looking for that tasted similar to the one she fell in love with in Germany. It was really yummy (Can I say that about wine? Lol) After this tour I'm more confident now about wines and what to choose should I ever have to. Definitely a great experience for someone who knows nothing about wines. If I have to give a tip, try not to go in the wintertime because the vineyard looks empty with dry leaves and no sign of grapes. Other than that a great experience overall!! read more

We went with a large group and did the Winery Tour. It was a lot of fun. Travis was very informative and entertaining. The first 4 wine choices at the beginning of the tour were excellent. You get to pick the last 6. And they were great too! My favorite was the 2017 Gewurztraminer. Walter was our guide and he was amazing, down to earth and very eager to help us learn about wine. The tour took us into the vineyard and where the wine was in the tanks. We did not go into the barrel room. We got to taste wine straight from the tank, which was very cool. There were 5 pre-picked wines and 5 others that we got to choose off the wine list for tasting. Location: This winery is on the De Portola Wine Trail in Temecula. Pretty easy to find as they had a sign on the side of the road. There are two parking levels, but there were attendants to tell you where to go. We had to park on the second level as it was super crowded on a Saturday! But we found a space easily around 2 pm on a Saturday. Service: The one thing we really liked about this tasting room was LOTS OF COUNTER SPACE. Unlike other wineries, Danza del Sol had multiple areas in the room for tasting and multiple people pouring. We never had to wait more than a few minutes for our next tasting to be offered. They told us a little bit about each wine right before the pouring. If we were more knowledgeable we would have asked more questions, but we are still relative newbies. They do have a tasting card where they mark off your 6 samples as you drink. $17 on the weekends so not cheap! Wine: Good reds, whites AND dessert wines. Can't beat it. We had just come from another winery up the street and we enjoyed the wines here more BY FAR. We ended up buying a white and a dessert wine as a gift. Wish they offered a discount for also doing the tasting as other places do, but oh well. Lots of choices across the board though in all areas as far as we could tell. Overall: We will definitely be back next time we are in Temecula. Hopefully during the week next time so the tasting will be slightly cheaper! =) read more

I studied wine in college so I love going to Wineries and listening to what is being taught. I will say this is the FIRST winery outside of my academic education that taught me more than I already knew. Bravo, Sean! When I found out we would be tasting 10 wines I thought, WOW! Im one of those bias wine drinkers who stays in the red region because I had not found a white I truly enjoyed...until my visit here. The Danza del Sol Pinot Grigio...wow, wow, and another wooooowwwww! So unbelievably excellent! Sean, our wine expert for the day was a funny one. He definitely has a drier sense of humor like the Pinot. No but seriously he was very knowledgable and the entire experience was pleasant. When you taste the wine they give you a plate of cheese and water crackers, I would have loved if the wine was paired with its appropriate pairing. I feel like enhances what you learn but regardless the experience was wonderful. I would like to experience a visit up to Danza during the fermentation season so I will absolutely return. This is my very first winery experience for my friend's birthday celebration. Even with it just being us two in a crowd of 10 ppl Travis our tour guide was phenomenal!! We drove an hour for a 10am tour and became members the same day because of Travis knowledgeable, funny, enlightening experience!!! We love this place so much we stayed for the Cinco De Mayo event and met everyone on the staff: Jaye, Miguel, David and a very nice woman bartending in the members clubhouse with a name starting with a R that taught us how to speak German from the wine we bought.
