Danny's Donuts were such a treat! Plenty of parking in the strip center were it's located. I pulled up on a Sunday morning after church and there were older gentleman hanging out in the front. Maybe some of Danny's pals. It seemed like it's a regular hang out spot for them. I walked in and Danny ( I presume) was super welcoming. He was patient with me as I took my time to make my selections. I was hoping to get an iced cinnamon roll so it took me a minute to redirect myself to something else. I got a non iced cinnamon roll and omg, the most delicious croissant bread pudding! So this is kinda gross, lol but it fell through the bag on my kitchen floor the next day when I ate it. I quickly scooped it up and am so glad my floor was clean and that I didn't throw it out. It was so good! And what a cool combo, croissant/bread pudding. It's a definite must try and for sure something I'd order again. Danny's Donuts were soft and delicious. This is a great donut stop especially if you're in the area. I've been looking for the best neighborhood hole in the wall donuts in Houston, TX. So far I've had horrible luck but today clearly it was needed to have to go outside of Houston to find some. Best Doughnut shop in South Houston. The shop is ran by an Asian family, the staff knows me and my family often because we have been coming to this establishment for years. The son who used to work here is Derry, he is nice and very friendly. Their donuts are always fresh, and cooked in the morning. They have the best glazed donuts, which taste better than Shipley's, and Donut Heaven. I am not sure what they add to the batter to make it taste authentic but they need to keep doing what they do and don't stop it either. The place is fairly big, but small at the same time. They have a drink corner, full glassed thing for the donuts to sit and stare at you. They probably are saying come pick me, or me. Lol, so cute. They have some tables, and a tv. Prices are dead cheap, a dozen of donuts probably will cost you around $4-$6. They have a pecan topped glazed donut which tastes really yummy in your mouth kinda like a sweet orgasm. Or even if you just want one or two donuts it will cost you around a dollar or so. Maybe a $1.50 or so. They also have different varieties of donuts, not just glazed. Parking is small, so get here very early. If you don't find a spot, I usually park behind someone else, or park in front of the Vietnamese store. The establishment is nestled on a strip of Asian stores mostly Vietnamese places and one steak restaurant. Oh, and Tapioca Xpress is on the same strip. Sometimes they have lots of Vietnamese men out front talking only because the next store caters to them, don't let those men discourage your taste buds. This place isn't too hard to miss, its part of a black gated rectangle shaped strip center. And Dairy Queen is next to this center. I highly recommend this place to anyone. So after visiting my nephew at the cemetery on a rainy Saturday mid day on the other side of town from where I live, my boys wanted donuts. So I looked up on Yelp for thr best donuts around which led us to Danny's. This place is a hidden gem. The owner attended to us and was very friendly. Since we got there rather late, there wasn't a huge variety but was so good we went back this past Sunday. Well we got there thinking they opened at 5:30 but they don't open until 6 am. We decided to wait since we don't live close by. While we waited for donuts, we tried the kolaches. They were so fresh and buttery. So yummy. Love coming here and I have been for a few years now. I don't know why I haven't done a review yet. It has a mom and pop shop vibe to it, which I actually love and I feel like are the best places. Super affordable and their donuts and kolaches are always fresh. You can definitely tell because they are constantly going in and out of the kitchen. You can smell it as soon as you walk in. I get the sausage cheese kolache, boudain kolache, and donut holes. Their sausage cheese kolaches are soooo good. They are never dry like some places are. The bread is always soft. Perfect cheese to sausage ratio. Their boudain kolache is really good and full of flavor as well. They do not skimp out on the filling at all. I was craving some doughnuts after eating at Pho Hai Van which I usually frequent because it's my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. I always go to Krispy Kreme or Riley's Donuts, but I randomly noticed this place after seeing a guy walk out with a box of doughnuts. I never noticed Danny's before, so I looked it up on Yelp and saw a perfect 5 star rating and decided to try it. This is hands down the best doughnuts I've ever had! The first one I tried was the cream filled one and it just melted in my mouth. It was so good that we went back and just bought a dozen of them. Each one tastes amazing. They had a maple bacon one which neither of us had ever tried. I thought that sounded gross decided to just give it a try. I hate bacon and yet that actually tasted pretty good. It was a perfect balance of sweet and salty. I highly recommend this place! I wish they have this in NC where I'm from. We only have Krispy Kreme over there. They have the best donuts in This part of Houston! They are so underrated. Everything is freshly baked that day, you can really taste the difference in the dough, and bounce. The breakfast croissants are my goto (eggs are so freshly made not precooked and refrigerated) and their donuts are on another level of fresh. Id say this is probably one of the best kept secrets in the donut world ... but you have to try them! The location is a but tricky and the outside might not look up to date but when It's said don't judge a book by it's cover ... man do they deliver. They are seriously giving all the popup franchises and other donut shops a run for their money, but you just need to go there and taste the difference for yourself. Must be new owners because the service here is not any good anymore. I have been going to this Dannay's since the 90's and they have always been great. Not anymore! I just spent $31+ and ordered a dozen glazed and a dozen mixed donuts with a dozen kolaches. I get to work and only have 11 mixed and 6 kolaches which is not what i ordered or what i PAID for! When I called the older woman tried to act like that is what she thought I wanted and I could bring my receipt back for the kolache refund. Heck I was already at work really, this was ridiculous. I love this place! Located in a little strip center, it's easy to miss. I came across Danny's one day because I refused to get Dunkin donut's old stale donuts and happened to find Danny's on the way to school. And I'm glad I did! Their donuts are so fresh, so fluffy, and oh so yummy. At a very affordable price too! It's a family owned shop and the owners are extremely friendly to all of their customers. My go to is their glazed donuts. It's very soft and fluffy with a shiny dry glaze on top, so it's not too sticky. It's quite comparable to Krispy Kreme if not better IMO. Their cake donuts are pretty good as well. One thing i have come across here a few times is that they sometimes don't make their glazed donuts early enough. Coming in around 7 with no glazed donuts is a bit saddening. But overall a great place. read more

A lot of the locals here seem to come for their donuts and such on a daily basis and I can see why! This establishment is family owned and they are very friendly! I have been going to this donut shop since 1991. Their pastries can't be beat. I worked at a French cooking school and let me tell you the corssants that the French chiefs made don't even compare to the ones this place makes. I think I have tasted everything they make and have not been disappointed with anything. I just tried there boudian kolaches oh my God, everytime I have thought that they have out done themselves they surprise me again.
