Just terrible. Terrible food, terrible service, terrible atmosphere. Somebody call restaurant impossible before this place closes.

This place is going down hill fast. Recently visited for Sunday brunch. The service was terrible, the food cold and old. Last visit ever!

For some reason the manager was our server tonight. He had to be asked after a half hour of putting our food order to bring our popovers. He gave me asparagus a choice for a side which I took. He neglected to tell me my entree already came with asparagus. I didn't really need all that asparagus. He took away my honey butter before I finished my popover so it was cold when I was able to finish it. It was cold because he didn't come back to check on this. Final straw....hair in my entree. The good part was they didn't charge me for my entree. The bad part.....I went home still hungry. Recommendation is the manager doesn't serve and just have people wait for a table with a regular service. read more

Dangerfield's reminds me of an old hotel on the Vegas strip. I'm sure it was a grand experience back in the day, but it hasn't evolved with the times. It looks a little run down and the food was average at best. If you are looking for great food or atmosphere, there are better options around the area. read more

Was there for new years dinner. Stopped in the bar and had two old fashions my wife had two bottles of michelob ultra and we split one appetizer cost was $38.00 - just a bit outrageous. Seated in a side dining area where we ordered our dinner. Waiter Eddie was excellent! The time between ordering and getting our food was great. Garlic mashed taters were also great. End of the positives. Three tenderloin medallions - two were cooked to perfection the other was grossly overcooked. Bernaise sauce had no flavor. Asparagus was undercooked. Crab meat on plate was horrible. Wife had walleye and crab she said it was good. Another $80 I will never see again. Will never return again. read more

I would say this place is very okay. I ate there with my boyfriend and his family, as his mom really enjoys this place, but I wouldn't go back on my own. They had a ton of steak and seafood options, but as a vegan, I was really only able to find one salad that would work with my diet. I can't remember the name of the salad that I got, but it had strawberries and grilled honeydew. Honestly, it was pretty bad. The dressing was heavy, and this salad convinced me to never eat grilled honeydew again. My boyfriend got the salmon, and he was also less than impressed. The restaurant seemed to be for more of an older crowd, and I don't think my boyfriend and I will ever be going back. read more

This place got 2 strikes in less than a week. We were drawn in on the one warm spring day we had here by a giant sign outside that said 'OUTDOOR PATIO NOW OPEN'. I had been there years ago with friends and remembered the food being pretty good. We walked in, waited in the alcove (straight out of 1992, mind you) for about 5 minutes only to be told that the patio was not open for the season yet, despite the 10 foot sign outside. We left to find a patio that is actually open. Again, last night we were in the neighborhood and thought, 'Hey let's give this a try for happy hour' - the parking lot was packed - good sign, right? WRONG! We went into the bar and sat down to find ourselves literally in a nursing home. Everyone in there had to have been over 70. After a good 15 minutes, the waitress finally came over to tell us that drinks were 25% off and the food was all free (really a bizarre promotion). No wonder it was jam packed - every senior citizen in town was loading their plates with greasy wings and communal nachos. AGAIN we left. All in all, highly recommended for disappointment or contracting multiple flus or viruses. read more

The best thing about Dangerfields is the waiter Joseph Smith. He is top notch all the way and should train ALL of the other staff to meet his standards. If we would have gotten the waitress at the table next to us I am pretty sure we would have left as she was very tacky and unprofessional. Our prime rib was really good and every thing else was pretty average for the high prices. Even so, Joe was so attentive and pleasant that he totally made our evening most enjoyable. If I ever go back and Joe is not serving that night, I will not dine there. He is the only thing worth going back for. Your restaurant should redecorate the fabric and take lessons in customer service from Joe. read more

Went about 4:30 in the afternoon, not crowded but the salad was good! Dressing looked watered down and the fettichini was not good! Used to be a good place to eat but it has changed, or maybe it was the chef. read more

Unreal. We had a reservation for 4 people at 7 pm. Admittedly we were a couple minutes late. We walked in and went to the back of an 8 person line at the host desk and waited. We watched the host (who I suspect is the owner) fiddle around and it was literally 15 minutes before he finally spoke to us. When we pointed out we were a bit unhappy that with a reservation to wait 15 minutes to even be acknowledged he informed us he was unhappy with us. Unbelievable, you have to be an owner to be that arrogant as an employee would be fired for that. Will never come back here again. read more

Avoid this place. I ate at Dangerfield's last week (on a Wednesday night). I left an average (15%) tip. However when I checked my credit card bill I noticed they fraudulently charged my credit card more than I had (clearly) written down on the receipt. On top of that, the food was mediocre (at best). First of all they lost our reservation for our party of 12 on a Saturday night. They said we could either wait 45 minutes or sit outside (68 degrees with a breeze). Since my mother in law is 90 we decided to push the issue and they found us a table for 12 right away. The waiter told us the crab cream cheese egg roll appetizer was 8 pieces...when the plate arrived it was only 3?! Oh well sorry he said!? The food was awful! I ordered pulled pork lettuce wraps. The pork had a large glob of greasy white fat... The lettuce meant for wrapping the pork was the end of a stalk of romain hearts!? The cheese quesadilla was virtually empty... A drizzle of cheese at best. The Asian bartender literally rolled his eyes at us and acted sooo busy with one other customer at the bar. We ordered one glass of wine and a martini. Sorry he got frustrated when my 67 year old sister in law didn't understand your comment or was it a question "straight up". So I was in the middle of eating my popover and the hostess came over and took the knife off my plate with her hand and put it on the table then took my plate?! So weird. The manager came over towards the end and had an abrasive and strange demeanor when he asked if everything went okay?! Just a weird night. read more

THE WORST FOOD! It's freezing in the restaurant, the food was COLD! And I mean cold. The steak was cold and extremely tough, had a hard time trying to cut off a piece. Four out of the five meals were cold. Asked to see the manager, the server talked to the manager and said they'd make new plates for us. Again, same results. Steaks were raw and cold of course. I asked again to speak to the manager, he never came over to our table. Unbelievable. Would not recommend going there. One star is for the server. read more

Just went there for Thanksgiving and was so disappointed, the ribs were soggy and tasted like fish, the turkey tasted old. the beef was ok the potatoes were good the salad was good only 2 choices for dressing. was shocked when we got the bill and saw they added 20% gratuity because there were 11 of us, but this was a BUFFET! on top of that the Gratuity was taken off of the whole total including the tax, you don't include the tax when figuring a tip. We went to the Sunday buffet today. It was great, even had a huge salad bar and so many different kinds of cakes. It does need a decor redo but we found the staff to be nice, helpful and attentive and the food excellent. We went with 3 adults and 3 kids. One more thing Dads, there is no baby changing station in the mens room so plan ahead. read more

We came across this restaurant using our Tom-Tom. The dinning room is very large and open. They have a large deck area, but that was closed for the season. We will come back next summer to give that a try, it looks very nice. We had their steak, with Jack Daniels sauce, and shrimp special. I ordered my steak Medium rare and was done properly. I work in Shakopee and order lunch from Dangerfield's at least once a month. I love the oriental chicken salad and popovers with honey-butter. The staff is cheerful and friendly and the salads and wraps are delicious. They have remodeled, new paint and carpet and it looks fresh and inviting inside. The deck is also nice to sit out on as it is screened in so no bugs. My family and I have made reservations for the Easter Buffet and I am looking forward to the variety of food they are offering. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! The food is terribly gross . The popovers were dried out like rocks. the fish is inedible and tastes fishy and overlooked . The prime rib was tough , dry and tasteless and could not be cut with a steak knife. The shrimp was dried out and burnt and tasted old. When we asked the nice waitress to speak with the manager owner Gus, she said he was too busy! As we were leaving, we asked the hostess to speak with the manager at which point she said he was too busy. My husband told the hostess it was unprofessional and cowardly to avoid speaking with us. As we walked to our car in the parking lot, the owner and 2 of his kitchen staff /we assume /followed us using profanity and words like the f---and c--- and other course words. We now assume he was hiding in the room behind the front desk and heard our complaints. I agree with the many reviewers that he is horrible and the one reviewer who says he is insane and psychotic!We finally threatened to call the police as we continued to our car because he continued to harass and verbally abuse us! Most importantly. You are entering a very hostile environment if you complain about your food which deserves complaints! We have never ever experienced anything like this in our lives and after reading the other reviews , it is no wonder the parking lot was empty! If you are stupid enough to ignore all the negative reviews regarding the irrational and angry manager owner and go to this hell hole, do not complain or you will be threatened! How sad for some of the nice wait staff who work there- One can only imagine how they must feel working in such a hostile environment! read more

The moment I walked in I wasn't greeted by anyone. The bartender saw me, but didn't acknowledge me at all. There was a man behind the cashier. I immediately knew he was the owner. Not sure what gave it away but I just did not want him to serve me or help me or anything. I hate these types that sit around collecting the money while the rest of the wait staff is hard at work. They are there because they don't trust anyone else with the money. My waitress was nice. I ordered the prime rib, which said it included soup or salad. I ordered the french onion soup. it was ok, nothing to write home about. The prime rib was nice, but a little on the cold side. I had no issues with dinner until the bill came. I noticed they had charged me for my french onion soup. The minute i placed my credit card into the bill fold the owner guy rushed to take my payment. That was pretty tacky and obvious. He should just let the waitress that was serving me take it from me. I can't explain it. But that is just wrong. I asked him about the soup and why it was charged when the menu said it was included in the prime rib dinner. He didn't even bother to stop. He couldn't wait to cash in my bill. All he said was it was an upgrade and rushed away to enter my card. No sense in arguing with him over 2 bucks so i just left after that. Knowing it was Saturday night, we made a reservation. We arrived about 10 min. early & stood at the unoccupied host stand for 15 min., trying to catch someone's attention while numerous servers zipped by, made eye contact with me, & kept going. I finally stopped one of them & asked if the host/hostess could help us. By that time, 10 more people had lined up behind us. The hostess finally arrived another 5 min. later. I gave her our name & time of reservation. She looked all over her list, but we weren't on it. Are you kidding me? She said she'd "try to squeeze us in." (Gee, thanks for being so accommodating.) Then she walked away. Came back 5 min. later (the line had now grown to 18) & I asked her if she had a table ready for us. She asked if we had a reservation. I knew we should have walked out. I refreshed her memory & told her we needed a table (not a booth), as one of our diners was recovering from leg surgery & needed to be able to stretch her leg. So she kept offering booths. WTF?? Did she not listen? A male host came over &, with an attitude, immediately escorted us to a table right by the piano. Fine, whatever. We knew it would be loud there, but we didn't realize the lady would be playing all night without a break. The server came over right away, took our drink orders, & served us popovers (which were cold). Came back later to take our orders. My husband ordered the special of the night (steak & shrimp) which she said they were out of. That early in the evening? After waiting quite awhile, everyone's dinner arrived except mine. She explained that "someone else had taken it." Huh?? So, while my dinner companions ate, I waited another 15 min. for the kitchen to make my meal. Mine was hot when it arrived; they all said theirs was cold when theirs came. By the time the server came back to ask how the meals were, everyone was 3/4 done. And when they told her their food was cold, she offered to take it back to rewarm it. Um, too late. The food was mediocre at best. My steak was flavorless with no seasoning. The cheesy potatoes were just ok; kind of dry. We felt the meals were overpriced for the quality of the food served. We had to ask for refills on our drinks. I sipped on the same watery diet soda forever before I could catch the server's attention to bring a fresh one. When she brought our food, it was flung on our table & she quickly ran away. Every time she came to the table, she left so abruptly that we couldn't ask for anything else or say anything to her. She was pleasant enough, but we felt she was overwhelmed. This was an overall disaster. We didn't have a very good experience the last time we were here, so thought we'd give them the benefit of the doubt & try again. How dumb were we? We walked in to the tacky, dusty, outdated, overpriced restaurant on a whim. We were left standing in the tiny seating area while the hostess seated people who came in after us. The weitress was distracted and never refilled my water. The popovers were overcooked and the salad watery bagged salad. The shrimp cream cheese appetizers were greasy and the baked potato so tough i needed a steak knife to get them open. My steak was tasty but my daughters shrimp were way overcooked and tasteless. At payment time the waitress walked away with my soccer coupon sheet and didnt come back with it for fifteen minutes. Than she brought it back with my coupon sheet hacked up and told me...sorry its only good mon. thru thursday and refused to redeem it on our $115.00 tab after she cut it out. Im sure that $5 coupon would have bankrupt them. Even a 90% off isnt worth it. This was our last try at Dangerfields.....stay away! read more

It was our anniversary. Drove 45 mins to get to Dangerfield's expecting a nice but casual dinner. We had been there once before and our experience was pretty good. . That I could remember. Until we got there. .we should have figured it out right away when we saw a couple get up and leave without ordering.. It all came back. . Terrible service. . We must have waited at least 45 mins for our food(the place was practically empty), remembering our last experience we had to wait a long time for our food also. We watched the waitress run from section to section apologizing everytime she got back to each table. My husband ordered shrimp scampi only to find it over cooked and rubbery. My pork chops were over cooked, burnt and dry. The "fresh" vegetable was asparagus which were large woody stalks, charred, cold and tasteless. Our disappointment must have been obvious when another waitress came up to our table and said. . "Come back, I'm here all the time, your experience will be different. " I thought it was nice at first but then I wasn't sure. . She was dissing her co-worker. I really did feel sorry for our waitress having to run all over the restaurant to different tables rather than have one section. Surely not worth the drive or the price of gas! Not overly impressed. The menu is varied, which is nice when you do have a larger party with different tastes. Our meal started off on a rough note when the restaurant ran out of popovers and served dinner rolls instead. It was only about 6:45 when this happened (and the restaurant is open until 10), so this was extremely disappointing because many of the other tables around us had them. The other disappointing part of our experience was that we ordered appetizers, but they never showed up. Our server seemed surprised when we reminded him of the appetizers. The food overall was nothing exciting, but it did take a while for us to get it. I ordered a pesto and Italian sausage pasta dish and it was only OK. It was lukewarm, but sausage's flavor was pretty good. We did order dessert and I had carrot cake, but it was nothing spectacular. A basic carrot cake, similar to one that you would purchase at a grocery store. The highlight of our entire experience was the honey butter--which is absolutely lovely. We went for the Sunday morning brunch. The only thing nice or enjoyable was the outdoor scenery; seated at a window table overlooking the river. The brunch buffet was plentiful, just really gross. The eggs benedict was cold when we sat down to eat; not even the bottoms were warm. I told the waitress about it and she said, 'huh...don't know what happens..sometimes they just don't retain heat' and walked away. When we went back, someone must have relit the fire under the pan, because they were warm. But the yolks were completely cooked and the toast was soggy: gross. Nothing I tasted was even close to mediocre. Then when we were going to pay the bill, the same waitress that told us kids 10 and under were half priced, and asked how old my (ten yr old) kids were, charged us full price. Not even close to being worth the money we paid. Will not go back again. Dreary outdated decor, mediocre service and flat out nasty food. read more

We visited Dangerfield's this past weekend with the intentions of having dinner and then attending the comedy show. I had made reservations as suggested, however, once we arrived at the host stand, we were blatantly ignored by the owner and one other employee that were working the stand. We stood there for close to 10 min before I finally had to 'interrupt' their precious time by saying that we have a reservation and were finally lead to a table, where we waited another 10 min to be approached by a server. She never even asked if she could bring us something to drink to start off, we had to ask her for water. And when telling her that we purchased a package deal that included the show and an appetizer but that we also intended to have dinner, she was very rude and said that the show starts at 8:30 and we probably wouldn't have time to eat. We pointed out to her that we were here on time for our reservation, which was 20 min prior to this conversation, but it took until now to get service. As a result, we barely had time to share the appetizer before having to hustle downstairs. Once at the show, we never once were approached by a server even though we saw them serving other tables. We filled out the slips at our table for a chance to win tickets for a future show, but no one ever came by to get them as the Emcee said they would. In fact, no one on our side of the room had their slips picked up. And on top of that, while passing by the owner on my way back to our table, rather than step out of each other's way, he literally brushed my arm, as if to walk right through me...very rude. I have no intention of ever stepping foot in Dangerfields again. This was not my first visit, but it was definitely my last as I've been less than impressed, by the food and the service, the other times I've been there as well. It's unfortunate that this business does not practice good customer service or appreciation being that it's the customers that keep them in business...so much for supporting a local business owner. I have no idea how they're even in business!! Stay away unless you desire the worst service ever and less than average food. read more
