Holy Hakka, the crispy ginger beef is amazing!!! I've tried hakka a few times and the crispy ginger beef is my go-to test of how good it is. Gotta say, Danforth Dragon did not disappoint. The beef was crispy without being hard and jerky-like in texture, the garlic flavour really came through, and the overall taste was sweet/spicy-but-leaning-towards-sweet. Basically, checked all the things I look for in my crispy ginger beef. Got also a few other things: - Shrimp pakora: Pretty good! The coating wasn't too thick, shrimp-to-fillong ratio was fine, and while it was chewier than what I'm used to, that was actually a good thing. - Singaporean noodles: A miss for me. I opened up the takeout container and smelled the curry and got so excited. Too bad the dish didn't live up to that initial smell. It wasn't bad, just a bit dry and would have wanted a slightly stronger curry taste. - Mango lassi: Thick, yogurty, strong mango flavour. I really enjoyed Danforth Dragon. And needless to say, if you do stop by, make sure to try the crispy ginger beef.

Had the spicy pork egg roll & manchurian pork ribs. The ribs were so-so. The ribs were a bit crispy but the sauce was disappointing - it lacked rich umami punch & there wasn't much flavour. The complimentary rice was rather small - it was like a cup portion of soup. The egg roll was great. It was a nice variation of the traditional egg roll. While the outside was the same as other egg roll, inside was curried peas & minced pork. There was a lot of meat in the egg roll & it was very moist & tasty.

Szechuan chicken lunch combo w white rice, hot and sour soup $10.99 (ginger ale not shown )and half order of shrimp balls. Absolutely love this restaurant. It's been the same ownership and chef since forever. The food is consistent and so delicious. You get 10% off if you pay cash. Please go and support them. They have amazing lunch combos for $10.

We ordered delivery. I've seen recommendations for this and have been curious. I ordered around 8 and they close at 9. Everything tasted like they cooked it at noon. Crispy ginger chicken my knife wouldn't go through. For a bit of childhood memories I ordered chicken balls. They were so disappointing. They dipped cooked chicken in some gooey dough so that chicken was also overcooked 2/3 of the food I ordered went to the compost bin.

This place is unclean, disgusting and has terrible customer service. I found a dead fly at the bottom of my takeaway container. Went back to show them my food with the fly in it as evidence and I got called disgusting while being sworn at by the manager. Terrible customer service. Apparently a fly in your food isn't a big deal according to the manager. I was "just exaggerating", also according to the manager. Don't eat here. 0/10 recommend. Attached are pictures of the fly at the bottom of my food. Terribly uncleanly.

I ordered the crispy ginger beef take-out for dinner. It came with a bowl of rice. It cost $12.99. I was surprised by the large portion they packed for us. I felt that it was too crispy/battered, but overall tasted alright. I wouldn't mind trying their other dishes.

Hahaha... don't listen to all those people who aren't satisfied with the Danforth Dragon. Those are the same people who think Chinese food is chicken balls, egg rolls and fortune cookies. Hello! Those are just made-up foods. China is a massive country with so many regional cuisines. What most people in Toronto think of when they think of Chinese food is actually Cantonese food. The more well-known, but less famous Chinese foods are probably Szechuan and Shanghai (dumplings, green onion pancakes, etc.) fare. Hakka food, on the other hand, is a different beast altogether... and at the Danforth Dragon, they don't serve pure Hakka food... but they serve Indian-influenced Hakka food. They serve food that is popular amongst the Hakka Chinese living in India. You're not going to find Cantonese Chow Mein here, folks. Back to the restaurant: the service is always excellent, and the food is always amazing! I usually order the dishes that are either spicy or cripsy... those are my favourite. If you aren't sure, ask for guidance and the chef/owner will be happy to oblige!

The pork and chive dumplings are a standout, bursting with flavor and topped with a savory soy dipping sauce. While the menu is simple, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. The atmosphere is no-frills, but don't let that fool you--the dumplings are definitely the star here. The service is quick and efficient, perfect for grabbing a bite in between exploring the bustling streets of Alexandra Park. If you're in the area and want a taste of traditional Chinese dumplings at a reasonable price, Juicy Dumpling should be at the top of your list!

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

From the moment we walked in, the space already set the tone.. dark, dramatic, elegant, and beautifully designed without feeling overly stiff. It has that upscale energy that makes dinner feel like an occasion before you've even ordered anything. Food-wise, there was a lot to love. The signature apple wood roasted Peking duck was definitely a highlight, especially with the tableside carving, which made the whole experience feel even more polished and memorable. The skin had that beautiful lacquered finish, and the duck was rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. We also ordered a few larger dishes for the table, and I really appreciated how everything still felt refined without losing that comforting, indulgent side of Chinese dining. Some dishes leaned rich and luxurious, others were lighter and more aromatic, so the meal never felt repetitive. Service was another standout. Attentive without hovering, smooth without being too formal.. exactly the kind of service you hope for in a restaurant like this. Overall, Mott 32 is absolutely the kind of place I'd come back to for a special dinner, celebration, or just one of those nights when you want the meal to feel a little more elevated than usual.

Also, when we call to check if dim sum is being served, it makes sense to inform us of the dining room closure instead of having us come in anyway. We settled for eating in the lounge which ended up being good because bartender, Aiki?, was excellent as our server. Really great. Ordered the following: King prawn Har gow: standard. Not worth the premium Mott charges. Miso black cod dumpling: not good. Wouldn't order again Shredded Peking Duck Spring Roll, Sliced Vegetable : Excellent. We loved this! Nice and crunchy. Delicious duck inside. Good vinegar dipping sauce. Good volume Hot & Sour Iberico Pork Shanghainese Soup Dumplings: Fantastic and unique. The dumplings don't really need dipping sauce since inside there is a hot and sour soup along with pork. These are unique and delicious. Fried Wagyu beef taro croquette : pretty good but really tasted like a Jamaican patty Cold noodle with shredded duck : very generous with meat. Honestly a lot more than any other restaurant that serves this. To be fair no one charges this much either so it should. Flavour could be stronger but certainly decent. Fresh Mango, Coconut, Glutinous Rice Roll: nice fresh dessert. Our favourite. Frozen xiao long bao with chocolate and nut: Tastes like a mochi. Not bad. Dragonball Zen - fun name. Delicious drink. Jasmine Dragon Ball Infused Tanqueray Gin / Peach Liquor Lime / Rose Water / Mint / Seltzer Over $200 for this meal before tip. It's premium an debatable if with it.
