I dropped by for some take out as I saw specials for Tandoori Wok but couldn't find the store front with the same address. The staff didn't even know about the store about after finding their number and calling the owner on the other line said they were planning to change the name of the store but haven't done so yet... it just felt a bit disorganized if the staff didn't even know the restaurant is going through a name change or goes by another name. It was really quiet during dinner time on a Sunday. Perhaps they are mostly for takeout. The food was okay but nothing really to write home about. Perhaps I didn't order the right things I got the chilli chicken, the tandoori momo and the garlic noodles. It was just okay. I wanted to try the ginger/crispy beef since I heard good things but they didn't have any beef when I was there. read more

I love this place for Hakka food! I've tried many of their items before and they are all amazing. Love the spice so if you are not much of a spice lover you may want to let them know to go easy on it. I on the other hand love their chilli garlic chow mein with chicken and Manchurian chicken. They have offers on Uber eats sometimes so that's how I normally order. read more

Had a craving for Scarborough hakka. Street parking available right out front. Hot and sour soup was lacking ingredients - tasted like slightly salted warm water. Unfortunately, Manchurian veggie rice was bland. However, the veggie Manchurian balls were quite tasty. I can't tell if it was the heat from the spicy level that made me feel like it was tasty. Hakka Flame does all the Indo-Chinese favorites that you can expect with "hakka" cuisine across the GTA, so I got some of the items that you can expect to find in common on menus. This includes: 1. Crispy beef: tended on the sweeter side, there was no shortage of dry red chilis if you'd like to turn the heat up, but the meat by itself is lower on the heat scale. It was crispy as promised, and great with the sautéed julienned onions. 2. Shrimp manchurian: came with a side of rice which many restaurants don't do, so points for that. While the sauce itself was spicy and savory, I didn't care much for the batter around the shrimp which tended a bit mushy, and so the entire dish ate a little bit monotonic in terms of texture. 3. Chicken lollipops: a staple on any hakka menu, it's basically chicken drummets with the meat pushed all the way up on the bone allowing you a less messy way of consuming chicken wings. Battered and fried with spices. While the provided lemon wedges allowed me to cover the acid levels I'd like, I did think there was essentially a lack of seasoning. Overall, a decent place for hakka cuisine, but it doesn't stand out in terms of the options available. read more

Generally hate leaving bad reviews, and especially in times of Covid, but got food from here yesterday and every dish was completely inedible. We ordered COMBO Mix - chicken pakora and chicken lollipop Garlic Shrimp Chili Chicken Chicken Hakka noodles So all the meat in every dish was really overcooked and stale. It seems like they may have just reheated items that were cooked a long time ago. The sauces in the two curries were extremely greasy and they had a weird after taste. The fried items felt like they were cooked a while ago, reheated in an oven and then reheated again. After having a bite of everything, I actually felt really sick and ended up in front of the toilet bowl. I definitely understand small businesses having a hard time, but this is really unacceptable. read more

We were in Toronto and had a real ache for Hakka Food and thought Little India should yield good results. While driving down Gerrard we both spied this place and almost wet ourselves with excitement. The place was quiet...at some moments we were the only patrons in the place (but take out was busy). Our waitress was very friendly and made some recommendations when asked. She dropped by several times for water refills and to check on us. We ordered: Chicken Pakoras - while different than what we're used to, they were flavourful. They came with 2 sauces...one mild the other spicy. An order consists of 8 pakoras Chili Chicken (dry) - excellent. While warned by our waitress that the dish was spicy, it wasn't at all. It was cooked perfectly and what lacked in heat made up for in flavour. Stir Fried Hakka Noodles Chicken - they were fantastic, full of green peppers, onions, hakka chicken and wonderful noodles. Hands down my favourite Indian-Chinese near downtown Toronto. But fare warning: it's SPICYYYYY. Like ass-burning spicy. If you are into masochistic self love and want to challenge your spice tolerance, this is your place. Although I must admit that we ordered takeout through UberEats and we mentioned that we wanted it spicy. Everything tasted fantastic - chili garlic chow mein, tandoori chow mein, chili chicken, paneer tandoori. Reminded me of the streets of Kolkata. Packed with flavour. Only other note: our food arrived really late and i am not sure whether this is because of the restaurant or because of the Uber's algorithm. Either way, we are definitely ordering from here again. We couldn't resist! We had to order again this weekend. We went for the krispy beef and the Singapore rice noodles, but threw in a variable...Manchurian chicken in a brown sauce with plenty red peppers. Everything was DYNAMITE! So tasty! And there were lots of leftovers to boot! read more

I was craving for some hakka and indochinese food. Tried few restaurants earlier ,but my tastebuds were never satisfied. This one is a GEM. Schezwan noodles (chowmein), manchurian pakora gravy, general tao paneer - everything was top notch taste wise, not to forget their portions are huge. This is by far the worst food we have ever ordered. By far. It was shocking - that nothing was good and some inedible. I am certain the chef does not taste the food. The paneer dish was so dry we thought it was deep fried tofu. The hakka rice was soaked in a sauce and it had a strong sweet flavor. The chop suey had no beansprouts just deep fried chips and a bland brown sauce. The singapore noodles had NO flavor and nothing in it but a few onions and a few slices of veg. The chicken pakora was inedible - dry hard rocks that were over seasoned. This food is really really bad. We love Hakka (Danforth Dragon!) - but boy this place should not be in the food business at all.. OH and they served RELISH (heinz) with the pakora dish!??? read more
