We went back on our most recent trip to Toronto and I think I over hyped it in my mind because it did not hit the spot like I wanted it to. The soups were both good, but I liked the egg drop soup over the hot and sour soup. The meat dishes were flavorful, but the rice and noodle dishes were not. Rice and noodles needed a bit more seasoning because they were a bit bland. Service was ok, but kind of rude. I'm assuming it was because we had a large party and went before closing. We did have a reservation so they knew we were coming.

I bought the Spicy tofu - dry. It came with white rice. There was a good amount here- the portion size was great. I think it was seasoned with onions, chillies and garlic as well as some ginger in there as well. The flavour wasn't spectacular- it was okay.

Hello fellow foodies today I bring you another fabulous review for those of you that love Hakka cuisine. I happened to be in the area getting some work done to my car and across the street was this restaurant.  I looked them up the reviews were mixed not the greatest but the pictures of the food looked great so I decided to walk over and order some food. Now this is a Hakka restaurant that also serves some Thai dishes and even some Guyanese caribean dishes as well. They have a very large extensive menu with tons of choices and over twenty menu options just for there lunch specials alone that are in the $11.00 range I ended up ordering their Thai red curry with steamed rice. The food was ready in just about 10 minutes. Food 5/5 The Thai red curry with steamed rice came in a very generous portion lots of rice and a smaller styrofoam container just with the red curry I was very full after eating this portion. The curry sauce itself was just amazing very flavorful and creamy  you can taste the cumin , garlic and the mild curry with just a hint of spicy pepper one of the better red curry sauces I have tasted. It had wonderfully thin cut long strips of chicken with green beans , carrots that were not overly cooked , but cooked to perfection to give you that slight crunchiness but not to much ..but the best part was the eggplant they added it gave the curry another level of amazingness..another texture to the dish with some sweetness and just amazing . I have never had eggplant in red curry but this really brought this dish to another level . This review is based only on this one dish as I only ate here once so I dont know the quality or taste of their other dishes. But I truly enjoyed this dish and it was just dilicious. Service 5/5 the service was fast polite and friendly and food was ready in less then 10 minutes great service.

Our new go to Hakka place! They have great lunch specials and great menu overall! Great service and lots of space for small to big families. Make sure to get the chili chicken with the red and green sauce on the side....yum!

My family loves this place! It's nothing fancy. It's straightforward tasty, filling food. Their prices went up a bit from last year, but it's still one of the cheapest place I've ever had. Their plate is always full. I don't think I've ever finished my plate. The only thing I don't like about this place is that the wait can take quite long, especially when a lot of people are around. We've only gone here during Saturday lunches and there are times it gets pretty busy. I highly recommend this place if you're hungry and want a guaranteed, good food!

I dont know but my stomach did not agree with the food here. The hot and sour soup was great!!! I am sorry but I had the runs!

Went with Coworkers and ordered the Chilli Chicken. The dish came with a spring roll but the service was extremely slow and food came quite late plus they will charge you gratuity on the bill. They do serve halal food

This is undoubtedly one of the best Chinese restaurants in Brampton. Everyone I've brought here has…read moresaid the same--it's one of the best dining experiences they've had. The fried chicken is an absolute must-try. It's on the saltier and slightly spicy side, but if that suits your palate, you'll love it. It's incredibly crunchy, flavorful, and satisfying. The fried rice is also excellent--comparable in taste to what you'd find at Congee Queen. The portions are generous; one plate could easily feed two people. What keeps me coming back is the "Meal for Two" combo, which is a fantastic value at under $60. If I remember correctly, it includes dumplings, fried rice, fried chicken, General Tao chicken, and spring rolls. Every item is cooked to perfection and full of flavor. If you haven't been yet, I highly recommend giving it a try.

Service was honestly one of the best I've had in a while. The staff were friendly, responsive, and knew how to read the room. I also really appreciated how well they made use of the space. A lot of places this size end up feeling like takeout joints with tables, but this one was cozy and thoughtfully put together from top to bottom. Now onto the food. Overall, everything was good, but the wings were easily the standout. Perfectly fried, seasoned with just the right amount of spice and heat, and absolutely addictive. If you're coming here, ordering the wings isn't optional. They're a must. Other dishes, like the noodles and Mongolian beef, were a bit on the mild side for my taste. Maybe I'm just used to something with more kick, but they leaned a bit safe. Not bad at all, just felt like there was room to push flavor further, especially after tasting how well they nailed the wings. Dumplings were hearty and filling. I personally prefer a thinner wrapper, but these had a wholesome, satisfying quality that still worked. If the area is the reason they're keeping things mild, I get it. But I'd love to see what they could do in a more adventurous food neighborhood. Either way, it's a solid spot and I'd be happy to come back if I'm nearby.

Jenny made everything so smooth from ordering, to our requests and up until we finished up paid the bill. She was patient and kind which is what you need when being this busy. As for the food, well it's normal Congee Queen consistency. Normally good, maybe sometimes a little salty but nothing outstanding. Overall good for the price.

It is a nice local spot to get your Chinese food cravings fixed. Their menu seems to be the same for all locations, the only difference being the price, all locations potentially the same other than the downtown location. See their website: https://www.congeequeen.com/menu.php and select your location. It has been a while since we have eaten at the Congee Queen outside of the Toronto (Dundas/Yonge) location, so we were a bit surprised at the price difference (8-10% difference). This location (Heartland Town Center) feels like it has the right price for the menu. With cash, you also get a 10% discount. We were here on a Wednesday for an early dinner around 15:30 - 17:00 and it was about medium full for the main area. People were coming and going at a good pace. For our group of four, we ordered: - B3 Salmon Congee $11 ($12 downtown) - H11 Chicken Salted Fish Fried Rice $18.25 ($19.75 downtown) - K34 Fried Bean Curd with Veggie $19.50 ($21.50 downtown) - K42 Salt and Pepper Squid $16.50 ($18.25 downtown) - K53 Fried Chili Turnip Cakes $13.75 ($15.00 downtown) Service was a bit slow, but not the longest as there were only 2-3 staff taking orders that day for about 15-20 tables. If you signaled for assistance, they will come. Once ordered thought, the food came out in about 5 mins and all the dishes were ready soon after. Tea is refilled on request, just ask. As usual, the fried rice and congee is what they are known for, it was excellent as usual. Depending on the group you go with, YMMV, but for our order combination, this usually works comes out at the same time and everything is hot and tasty. The turnip cakes are the softer type and they even accommodated checking for shrimp. They are usually good about seafood checks. All in all, great experience. With the discount and tips all in, it was less than $100 total at $25 per person. It has been a while since we've eaten out with a group at that price point. Will keep in mind to meetup at any of the non downtown locations in future.
