For my money, this is the best hakka restaurant in Brampton or Mississauga. Very friendly staff. I heard many customers greet the staff by name and vice versa, so you know that there's lots of regulars here . The food here is great. We went back on our most recent trip to Toronto and I think I over hyped it in my mind because it did not hit the spot like I wanted it to. The soups were both good, but I liked the egg drop soup over the hot and sour soup. The meat dishes were flavorful, but the rice and noodle dishes were not. Rice and noodles needed a bit more seasoning because they were a bit bland. Service was ok, but kind of rude. I'm assuming it was because we had a large party and went before closing. I bought the Spicy tofu - dry. It came with white rice. There was a good amount here- the portion size was great. I think it was seasoned with onions, chillies and garlic as well as some ginger in there as well. The flavour wasn't spectacular- it was okay. read more

Hello fellow foodies today I bring you another fabulous review for those of you that love Hakka cuisine. I happened to be in the area getting some work done to my car and across the street was this restaurant.  I looked them up the reviews were mixed not the greatest but the pictures of the food looked great so I decided to walk over and order some food. Now this is a Hakka restaurant that also serves some Thai dishes and even some Guyanese caribean dishes as well. They have a very large extensive menu with tons of choices and over twenty menu options just for there lunch specials alone that are in the $11.00 range I ended up ordering their Thai red curry with steamed rice. The food was ready in just about 10 minutes. Food 5/5 The Thai red curry with steamed rice came in a very generous portion lots of rice and a smaller styrofoam container just with the red curry I was very full after eating this portion.The curry sauce itself was just amazing very flavorful and creamy  you can taste the cumin , garlic and the mild curry with just a hint of spicy pepper one of the better red curry sauces I have tasted. It had wonderfully thin cut long strips of chicken with green beans , carrots that were not overly cooked , but cooked to perfection to give you that slight crunchiness but not to much ..but the best part was the eggplant they added it gave the curry another level of amazingness..another texture to the dish with some sweetness and just amazing . I have never had eggplant in red curry but this really brought this dish to another level . This review is based only on this one dish as I only ate here once so I dont know the quality or taste of their other dishes. But I truly enjoyed this dish and it was just dilicious. Service 5/5 the service was fast polite and friendly and food was ready in less then 10 minutes great service. read more

I had never had hakka food before and was curious to try this. In the end, for me, the only thing that I thought was "fusion" was the pakora, which were really good. The gobi manchurian were in a very shoyu-flavored sauce, which was definitely different. Everything else to me just seemed like either Cantonese style food or Indian food (noodles were basically chow mein, fried rice was... fried rice). Service was good and prompt, though when we didn't take the tofu home the server asked us why a few times, haha. Not quite sure if I would go here again, but it was still good nonetheless! read more

My family loves this place! It's nothing fancy. It's straightforward tasty, filling food. Their prices went up a bit from last year, but it's still one of the cheapest place I've ever had. Their plate is always full. I don't think I've ever finished my plate. The only thing I don't like about this place is that the wait can take quite long, especially when a lot of people are around. We've only gone here during Saturday lunches and there are times it gets pretty busy. I highly recommend this place if you're hungry and want a guaranteed, good food! read more

You can't change it on the bill without asking the customer. You have ZERO business ETHICS and it's not long that this restaurant will close down because of your ignorance. If you want gratuity,you need to work on your customer relations skills so that the customer feels like leaving it for you. You didn't bring the full order , I had to call you twice to get the balance items on the order and yet you expect us to leave you a TIP . Other places also charges TIP but they bring it to the notice of the customer not like you to will add it to the bill. Plus, the places which charges the TIP actually deserves it. read more

Found this place on yelp when in the area. We ordered 2 orders of the Bombay chicken which tastes okay, however clearly full of MSG to the point where you can taste it in the food. We also ordered the curry pad thai, which was pretty much inedible, very bad flavour. At the end of that day, the food is of poor quality and the service was slow and not friendly, so I would not return. read more

Visited for the first time today as I was starving sitting at my desk wondering where all the good Hakka in Brampton is. A coworker suggested Hakka No.1, which is worryingly close to my work. I'm afraid I will be there way too often now. The restaurant itself is of the "no frills" variety, which tends to signal good food. I find when a Hakka place really fancies itself up, its playing a dirty smoke and mirrors game distracting you from the food (whether quality, quantity or both). But that's just my opinion. I walked in having never seen their menu, but knew I was going to order the Chili Chicken with sauce. That dish is the real barometer of a Hakka place and decides whether I will visit again. Their version was quite good, no complaints. It doesn't hold a candle to my local in Mississauga, but it was still yummy. Really quite a large portion, with sufficient sauce coverage on the rice. You also get a bottle of water and a spring roll, all for $5.95 plus tax. I will say, it seemed a bit heavy on the MSG though. Just a warning. The place is obviously popular as there were at least 20 people dining in and a steady flow of take out orders. Never less than 10 people waiting to pick up, with only 2 servers handling all orders plus waiting on tables. Keep the food coming, I will be back! This place is ideal for feeding a crowd. Their lunch portions are so good! My favourite thing on the menu is the Thai red curry- filled with chicken, eggplant, carrots and green beans. It's pretty affordable considering the price point. I recommend the Hakka chicken noodles! read more

Ordered Chilli Chicken (gravy), Chilli Beef (dry), Chiili Prawns (dry), Manchurian Fried Rice, Pineapple Fried Rice, Chicken Balls and Lollipop Chicken. In my opinion, the chilli chicken had just a touch too much ginger but I really enjoyed everything else. Chilli Prawns was the best I tasted and I also enjoyed the chilli beef with the pineapple fried rice. Called restaurant to cancel my order shortly after placing my order on skip. A man answered my call and said my order would be cancelled on their end and to contact skip the dishes customer service for refund. When I called skip they said the would contact the restaurant to ensure the food wasn't prepared. Skip called me back and told me the restaurant manager already said the order was prepared which was 5-10 minutes after I placed the order and seemed highly unlikely. ( seems like they didn't want to refund my money ). I Live 10-15 minutes away and on my way there I got the confirmation that my order was ready for pick up. I arrived at the restaurant and food wasn't even prepared. Walked in to staff eating food and Waited 10 + minutes, not that I had an issue with staff having a break. Asked man at cashier why my order wasnt cancelled and he told me to address my issue with Susan who was eating with the rest of the kitchen staff. Susan saw me and yelled at me from the table telling me that the food was prepared by the time skip called the restaurant. When she was done eating she went back to the kitchen to finish preparing/packaging the food. She claims that I came early and skip the dishes did not tell me to come yet which is false because I was able to rate the food even before I received the food while standing in the restaurant. When she came back to give the food I told her I didn't appreciate this service. She said something along the lines of " don't come back". Did not offer a apology. I respond that are other Hakka restaurants and I will not be returning. Very rude and unapologetic. read more

This place is a must if you want to try the Hakka food, the menu although is very large it is very easy to understand. The interior of the restaurant is nice and simple, you can choose to eat-in or take-out. Now the food: it is really good, and full of flavour. I ordered chicken curry spring rolls as appetizer, the hakka masala chicken and the szcheuan beef and i really enjoyed the meals. For the kids I ordered a meal with leag and back chicken on top of fried rice which is not spicy and they loved it. Let me tell you that the portions are huge so expect to take some left overs home, as far as what you get for the price it doesn't get any better. The service wasn't the best but there was only one server for 12-14 tables and she was rushing, she was nice and brought the food fairly quickly.
