This place is a good option for good meal right after attending a show at Meridian Hall. The dahi k kebab was yummy melted in mouth. Mango milkshake was irresistible too Paneer tikka gravy tasted well on the palate. Paneer paratha was well cooked. My friend didn't like the cheese naan as much as cheese was overpowering. Biggest challenge was the congested seating arrangement. Everyone could hear what was discussed at the neighboring table. Service was okay as they almost forgot to change the plates and did after the main course arrived.

We were in the area for a play and I was interested in Urban Maharajas since, according to their online menu, they had brunch items with an Indian twist. Well, it turned out they didn't actually offer those items, which was initially pretty disappointing but eventually not a problem at all. We decided to start with the Crispy Paneer Balls ("Fried cottage cheese balls with herbs and batter"), because how could we not? It's a delicious appetizer that's far from the gimmick I might've expected. They balls are crispy and flavorful, while the included sauce amps up the taste considerably. For our main, we kept it simple and got the Home-Style Curry ("Traditional curry cooked with sautéed onions, ginger, tomatoes, exotic herbs and spices") and we got that with lamb as our protein. It's an excellent curry. The flavor is so deep and rich, and the copious chunks of super tender lamb definitely enhance the experience. We also got rice and garlic naan on the side and they were both delicious. This is a pretty terrific place, and I'll certainly return the next time I'm in the area.

Amazing Indian food here - everything we had were fantastic and full of flavor. The surprise was the pani puri shooters - it's a delicious alcoholic twist to a classic appetizer. Staff was friendly and can recommend dishes if you don't know what you want. Worth checking out if you happen to be in downtown Toronto.

On our way to an Irish bar to catch a soccer match, we passed a cozy spot where people were enjoying their meals out on the patio. Curious, we took a peek at the menu--and it instantly caught our attention. We made a mental note to return the next morning for breakfast. When we came back, we chose a shady table on the patio and ordered a chai latte, the vibrant Beetroot Sunrise, and the Maharaja's Special Omelette. The food took a little time to arrive, but once it did, we didn't waste a second. We devoured everything. We've always loved Indian cuisine, but having it for breakfast was a first--and it was absolutely delicious.

We were a large party of 8 adults and two children. Pre booked and pre ordered. The food was delicious but took forever to come out. The service was decent. They could have checked on us a bit more frequently. They advised on inaccurate portions so we ended up with way too much food. Very nice ambiance, decor and lighting. The private area was very tight so the food had to be passed down which was inconvenient. A round open space would probably be better. Everything ordered was delicious. Chicken mughlai, shrimp n curry, grilled beef. Butter chicken, naan, tadka daal. The tamarind and spicy mango drinks were delicious. Spice level at medium was quite high.

(Left to Right) Veg Jalfrezi, Chingari Kofta, two Butter Naan and a Lachha Paratha

My boyfriend and I were walking around St. Lawrence area on a Thursday evening. We saw this restaurant while trying to decide where to go for dinner. We noticed a lot of people enjoying their meal and the place was quiet, so we decided to have dinner here. We were warmly greeted by the staff and she took us to a table at the back. The place had a lot of warm colours, including gold. It was dimly lit to create a cozy vibe. Just like its name, everything looked fancy! We ordered Veg Jalfrezi, Chingari Kofta with two Butter Naan and a Lachha Paratha. For drink, we chose a Falooda to share. All of the dishes were delicious- my favourite was Chingari Kofta, the creamy sauce and the soft dumplings were very tasty. The Falooda was refreshing and sweet. The Veg Jalfrezi was too spicy for me (although we ordered it as mild), so drinking the Falooda helped me to cool down. The service was attentive and friendly- our waitress came by a few times to make sure that we were having a good meal. We had a relaxing evening and the food was delicious, come and check it out!

This restaurant has a beautiful interior. Ambience was casual yet classy with a bit of a fine dining feel. The interior décor was adorned with dark green and soft, earthy colours, giving a warm feeling. Service was good; our servers were friendly, very jovial and polite. The menu is quite extensive, offering Indian dishes with some fusion. You can customize the spice level of almost every dish by indicating if you want mild, medium, or very spicy. The food took a long time to cook (almost 1 hour), even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all. But it was worth the wait as everything was very delicious and freshly made. I loved that all the main tandoori dishes that we ordered came with side green salad. 1) Beetroot Delight Chaat (beetroot potato patties with spiced chickpeas, yogurt, and chutneys) - This was listed as an appetizer, but portion size was HUGE (very heavy and filling too). Very flavourful, but a tad spicy (even though we ordered mild). 2) Malai Soya Chaap (soya cubes marinated in tandoori masala & grilled in tandoor clay oven) - My favourite dish here! The texture reminded me of seitan (gluten) in Buddhist Chinese cuisine - very firm and the sauce that came with it was super tasty. It came with a side green salad and green herbs chutney. 3) Pistachio Crushed Salmon (salmon fillet with spices, grilled in tandoor clay oven and garnished with pistachios and edible flowers) - This was good but nothing out of the ordinary. It came out nicely plated with purple edible flowers and crushed pistachios on top. It came with a side green salad and green herbs chutney. 4) Fish with Hyderabadi Mughlai Masala (fish in thick curry made of tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, and spices) - The curry had a nice flavour, but the fish was breaded. It paired well on top of the basmati rice. 5) Majestic Prawns (jumbo prawns marinated in spices & grilled in tandoor clay oven) - Big, tender prawns with nice seasoning and fresh salad. 6) Vegetables Jalfrezi (seasoned vegetables cooked with tomatoes, onions, spices, and herbs) - We ordered this one to be mild, and it was quite good. I wish it contained bigger pieces of vegetables (especially the okra). 7) Garden Salad (leafy greens, carrots, cucumber, grape tomatoes, onions, and peppers, with chef's special dressing) - As an appetizer / side, the portion size was bigger than expected, but it was welcomed as it was perfect for sharing. 8) Coconut Lemon Basmati Rice - Again, larger portion than expected, but it was a good accompaniment to all the other dishes we ordered. 9) Garlic Naan - It came out as 3 naan bread, piping hot and very crispy with black grill marks (my favourite part of the naan).

    Paneer pasanda (i think)

This place is fantastic. I stopped in by myself before a show, and wow it was delicious. I had the crunchy chili momos to start which were incredible. Have a great menu with things you don't see at other indian restaurants. I will be back with my family!

Came across this new addition to the neighbourhood on a recent walk, made reservations for the next day for dinner. We were greeted with a friendly and smiling hostess who guided us to our table. Interiors are well done with a touch of muted elegance. We started with a couple of Ketel One and Sodas as well as recommended Dahi kebabs for an appetizer. The Dahi kebabs are a definite must try ! Both Sneha & Ridhi made our dinner quite an evening with friendly interactions and small talk all while providing attentive & great service . After a couple of drinks, we ordered Gilafi Seekh Kebab, Maharaja's Dal Makhani, Latchha Parantha and a Butter Naan. Each dish was delicious, great presentation and portions. The one thing I always look for in any Indian restaurant is the preparation of Rotis / Naans , and the only improvement I can think of is to provide a well done Naan with the right amount of crispness !!! But then again, that's me !

I was greeted warmly by a gentleman at the front. To my surprise, the restaurant was not that full for a Saturday night at 6:30 PM. Maybe the rain kept people off of the streets. I had a nice discussion with the gentleman who took my order and received my piping hot food 3 minutes later. Pretty good guess at timing. They gave us a whole garlic naan as it is uncut in the foil and that was very impressive! Really cool that they did that cuz most restaurants just cut it up and give it to you if you want it to go. Naan itself was very fresh and flavorful. They didn't really put any butter on top which was quite nice. So just a classic lovely garlic naan. Dahi Kebab appetizer - so yum! It was really flavorful on its own, and with that mint chutney it was even better! Husband loved the Malai Kofta ! Curry was properly creamy and even the koftas themselves were good. I needed it a little spicy so added a bit of spice to it and it was perfect. They also had a promotion going on for free samosas with an order of $50 or more. Unfortunately, lots of places in Toronto who make promises of serving biryani teleport you to hell. My friends and family are lifelong fans of biryani. Of all the places Biryaniwalla is highly recommended and I have usually had it at get-togethers. This time though I decided to visit the place and order a take out personally. Located a few meters away from Bathurst station , the restaurant stands amongst other Asian eataries. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by Ankita at the reception. We asked her for recommendations and she patiently explained us the options and advised 2 biryanis based on our spice tolerance and preferences. Taking her advice, we ordered: - Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket with double Masala for $43 ($39.99 for Biryani and Double masala pay $2.99 extra). - Palnadu Chicken Biryani ( $18.99) Ambience wise, the place is pretty chill with neatly lined tables for family and the huge Biryaniwalla Logo adorning the big wall. There was also a spin the wheel game, which you can play if you place a google review. While we waited for our order, the shop was quite busy with mobile food delivery orders. After about 10 minutes, we got our order and took it home. Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket: This is possibly their bestselling biryani. And I have to confess, I have tried it before and I absolutely love it. It is a delicious biryani , with nice moist chicken pieces, cashews and which is not too overpowering with spices. We ordered double masala because my better half likes it that way. The quantity for bucket was huge and can easily satify 3-4 people. Chicken Palnadu Biryani: Compared to Kaju Ghee Roast, this one is more tangy and a bit on the spicier side. It is a slight Achari taste and it was surprisingly delicious. Also, you get Salan (spicy-tangy gravy) and Raita (yoghurt mixture) with the biryanis, and they go quite well with the biryani. However, i somehow still felt the biryanis lack that authentic taste of biryani that you get in India and Pakistan. Real authentic biryanis have the inherent smoky flavor which comes from coal which is used to cook biryani and to give Biryani the dum ( pots are sealed and cooked over slow heat with coal - at bottom and at top.) Also missed that Birista that usually accompany Biryani layers. That being said, these are quite good biryanis. To foodies: Possibly the best biryani restaurant is toronto, that gets it as close to the authentic taste. The biryanis are delicious and they have lot of other options including seafood biryani. The quantities are huge and you and your loved ones will truly enjoy To management: Great biryanis. Great service by Ankita. Would love if you guys can sprinkle some birista ( fried onions) at the top layer or provide it on the side. Also it would be great if you can provide some incentive for customers who order directly from store. I knew you once had 10%.off , which when I asked was told it's still on but you need the offer card. I was a bit let down by that because at the end, it's just a formality. Also spin the wheel if you place a google review is a cheap tactic to get reviews. Just do it as a fun activity guys. Creates goodwill. As a brand strategist , I always recommend customer experience over a few dollars Overall this is a great place for biryanis. I definitely recommend it.
