I ordered the double cheeseburger with the works, hubby ordered a triple cheeseburger with the works minus onions, kids ordered hot dogs and a cheeseburger. The hot dogs were split and grilled and then placed on a hamburger bun. The fries were crispy and thin, similar to McDonalds fries, tasted great especially with the fry sauce. This place offers the best burger and fries in Redding. As a self-appointed regular, I visit Dam-Burger at least once a week. The best burger is the Helen. This is the same amount of beef as a Double Dam Cheeseburger, but it is cooked to order. I recommend Medium for a juicy burger. There fries are the BEST! I mean the BEST! I go to Damburger when I'm in Redding and I've never been disappointed. The meat is cooked thin and has real flavor. This is not a fat butger, just delicious. The service is aleays fast and polite and this all goes with the best fries since I was a teen. And that was long ago. "Same as it ever was" I'm a big fan of your basic vintage diner-style hambuger joint. This place is the real deal, still doing it like they did 70+ years ago. It still has a counter with stools where you can sit and chat with the ladies that are making your food. They still have an antique un-powered cash register. The shakes are good, the fry sauce is made on-site, and the burgers are good too. Note: They do make their burgers with an extra-thin patty, which has been the tradition there forever. If that's not your thing, get the Helen burger instead, it's twice as thick (which makes it about as thick as a regular patty elsewhere)- that's what I always order and it's perfect. I have lived in the Redding area all of my life and have always heard great things about DamBurger so I decided to try it out. I was very disappointed. These are the reasons why. 1. The hamburgers are way over priced for the amount of meat that you get. My friend and I each ordered triple burgers, and when we got our food I honestly thought the waitress brought us the wrong order because it really looked like there was only 1 hamburger patty. I even mentioned it to my friend and he pointed out there was actually 3. They say they are 1/3 lb patties but there is no way. We spent $25 for 2 burgers and fries and this was without any drinks. 2. The service was not good. We both ordered waters to drink and we had to yell for the waitress so we could get a refill. She checked on the couple sitting outside twice but never once came back to our table. We were the only ones inside and there was 4 or 5 employees there. And they still had the nerve to ask me how much of a tip I wanted to leave when I paid for our meals. ........ On the positive side I thought the burger was flavorful but I would not pay that much money again for for the little amount of food that we got. read more

I am a self-proclaimed DamBurger addict. My grandparents who have lived in Redding their entire lives, as well as many, many old people LOVE Damburger and eat it on a weekly basis. Actually there are many people who come in daily. No joke, I've been around long enough to talk to them. The shakes are to die for. Many people have customs that they like and the crew is happy to oblige. I've only eaten there a few times with my mother. Two of the three times we were seated after people who walked in after us... The waitresses are often rude and don't care about anyone younger than 60. I've always ordered a regular hamburger, fries and a drink. When it comes out the meat is very thin (almost laughably so) and it's covered with whatever vegetables you ask for. I love Dam Burger. My favorite thing about them is that they are consistently good. I don't like over-grown gut bomb burgers. Dam burgers are thin and charred properly, which gives them great flavor. Don't need to put a bunch of extra junk on them to make them taste good. The meat speaks for itself. And the buns are always nice and fluffy and lightly toasted. A perfect hamburger for me. If you like more meat, I would suggest a double. If you like a thicker burger then they also have the Helen burger. This is a local family run business and I don't have a problem with their prices.
