Came here on the first day of the soft opening and was really excited to try Daly Buffet, it's always fun when a new buffet or food spot opens up. First off, drinks were free, which was a great perk! There was a wide variety, including bottled teas, milk teas, fruit teas, and sodas. The food selection was what you'd expect from a solid Asian buffet: teppanyaki, malatang, hot dishes, dim sum, and desserts. One thing that really stood out: they had fresh garlic abalone and abalone soup, which I've never seen at a buffet before. There was a limit of two per person at a time, and a bit of a line, but you could just keep coming back. It felt like a premium offering and was a really nice touch. As for the sushi, unfortunately, it was frozen and icy cold, so I ended up avoiding it. Hopefully that improves over time! The wait was insanely long, but again, expected for opening day. After checking in and getting a number, you prepay before being seated. We ran into a small issue when we got up for another round of food. The staff thought we had left, cleared our table, and seated another group. Since it was so packed and you can't just grab an open seat, there was nowhere else to sit. The staff ended up removing the group they had just seated and returned our table to us, awkward for everyone, but we appreciated them doing their best to resolve it. After that, we just made sure to leave our jackets on the chairs each time we got up. Despite the chaos, I had a good time. Daly buffet, taking over the previous buffet spot next to the theater. I came on a week day around 5pm, there was a couple people ahead of us paying to get in so not much wait time. My parents were able to get senior discount over 65 years old. It's $39.99 per person for dinner and a 8% service fee. For the price I was hoping to see some good seafood in here and I was happy they had raw oysters! It was fresh and oh very delicious, they were all gone around 7pm and wasn't being restocked so it's better to come early! They had abolone and not the can ones, they were served with their shell as well! They also had abolone soup and snow crab as well, for those you have to come back multiple rounds since they serve those to you. The sushi section was quite large and had tons of selections, the rolls were not particularly good so I skipped those and went to the sashimi section, salmon sashimi tasted fresh so that's a plus. For the warm food, they had various of seafood, dim sum, and Chinese food so that's all to your own preference. Also a malatang section. The dessert section I wished had more selection, they had jello, a small cake section, lots of fruits, and tiny ice creams to grab and go. The drink section was also grab and go. Overall it was a hit or miss with the food, I tried a bunch of items but ultimately went back to the seafood that was good (got to make up that $40 worth ahahaha). Witt buffets, I am always concerned that, due to the amount of food they serve relative to the price point, the quality of the food will be lackluster. From a price vs quality standpoint, Daly Buffet's value proposition is actually not bad. Of course, if you can eat more, the return on investment is even better! They had many of the Cantonese staples and requisite buffet desserts (jello, anyone?), but the surprising high point was the sashimi. I was wary about it at first, but, once I got over that and took a bite, all my concerns went away and I dug in. The fish was fresh and prepared well. Service was as expected; you get your own food but the waiters were good about picking up finished plates. The interior of the place itself is a bit worn; I have memories of this space's glory days in its original Kome iteration. If you are looking to stuff your face outside of SF, Daly Buffet is worth a try. read more

They got TONS of options here! I wanted to make my money's worth so I went after sashimi , seafood, crab legs, seafood boils and skipped cheap items like chow meins and so on. There's a section where you can get drinks either from a fountain or pick up bottles of various tea type drinks or water. They also have hot cocoa and coffee on deck! I highly recommend getting their individual pot of Chinese medicinal herb soup. It has individual portioned of pork bones, abalone, ginseng, and a half chicken feet. Came here on a Tuesday at 4:30 pm for dinner and it was quite empty when we got here but quickly got crowded as we got closer to 6 pm. You pay at the register and they charge approximately 47.46 per person after taxes and service fee. This is a no tipping establishment. The lay out of this place was exactly the same as it's predecessor Kome. There was a huge variety of sushi, seafood, dim sum, and Chinese food. The sushi included rolls and sashimi, which were decent. Rule one of ayce is to not fill up on rice, which I quickly broke because I wanted to try all the rolls . The dim sum were pretty good but wasn't hot. They also do malatang where you can pick veggies, noodles, and raw meat for them to cook and add to your broth of choice, although I think they reused my same bowl with the raw lamb so I felt a bit grossed out. I suggest using a plate(instead of a bowl) to pick your ingredients to avoid this. They also have a grilling station where you can choose different meats to be charred and cooked fresh which was pretty good. Overall the food was ok and probably only worth it if you are a big eater and want a variety of stuff. This was an ok place, as buffets go. I didn't waste time with all of the fluff stuff and got straight to business. After doing my walk around to see what they had, I went to the front and got the razor clam soup, garlic abalone and king crab legs. You are limited to one serving at a time for those. The clams and abalone were good, but the crab legs were dry, as expected of all crab legs at buffets. I also loaded up at the seafood station, getting sea snails (which were very tasty), shrimp cocktail and octopus. Went back seconds of the razor clams and abalone. 3rd round was some korean marinated short ribs, which were quite tasty, some shrimp boil and stir fried broccoli. How exciting that a new buffet place opened in Daly City!! Made a trip with the wifey for lunch to check it out for its soft opening. We came around 11:20am and the lobby was packed like crazy. It felt like the New York Stock Exchange with people screaming and bunching up at the counter to get seated. I think what caused it was their POS system was down so kudos to the Hostess for handling all the screaming people with grace. If I'm not mistaken, it looks like you pay first before getting seated. The hostess made an executive decision to have people seated and just pay after. Once she did that we were seated in minutes. The place is fairly huge with a lot of seating. The food trays were nice and organized with dim sum in the front hot foods, in the middle and sushi/desserts towards the back. The food selection is pretty good with hot foods, dim sum, sushi and Malatang. I did miss getting bbq which they had as well. The food is very reminiscent of Kome which is not a bad thing. What I was impressed with most was their drink section, they had a great selection of fountain drinks and even milk tea!! I have to confess that I was a bit under the weather so didn't get a chance to gorge as much as I wanted not having too much of an appetite. But I gotta do it for the people! I hope Daly does well and I will definitely come back. It's been too long since we've had a buffet restaurant in the Peninsula that is not hot pot. Lunch pricing is $25.99 which is very fair. We went around dinner opening and so was seated quickly, and the restaurant offers plenty of options--sushi, grilled meats, and noodle soups. Drinks are unlimited and self-serve, which was convenient. Flavors were decent overall, though dinner is definitely on the pricier side. One thing I didn't love was the limit of only two meats on the grill at a time, even though there wasn't a line. Overall, it's a decent spot but nothing really stood out as expected from a buffet. I've been here decades ago when it was Tomei and Kome. I'm glad they are back remodeled with more options than you can eat. It's incredible the variety they offer from raw fish (sushi) to dim sum and even fries and pizza for the little ones. I didn't take any pictures because their website and all the pictures already posted gives you a good deal of what they have to offer. I like trying everything so for me, the challenge is to pace yourself and get a little of what I wanted to try so I can go back and get more if I wanted. There's just so much variety and they have several stations with several different soups, small variety of dim sum, American and Japanese cold salads, classic cantonese dishes along with crab legs and short ribs. How can you go wrong? One of my favorite was the abalone soup - it was soothing and reminded me of the homemade soup the older generation often made. That hit the spot and was so comforting. There's unlimited drinks - from canned to bottled asian drinks and soda from the fountain to tea and hot chocolate in the separate beverage section. They offer a free birthday meal but it has to be within a 2 day window of the actual date. The dessert section had cookies, all types of jello and assortment of small cakes. It's good that the cakes are small so you can try the other flavors if you want without being too stuffed. Prime time at noon and 6pm on weekends are probably the busiest and you can tell how long the wait will be to get seated by the size of the crowd waiting in the lobby. There's free parking in the nearby garage so that is very convenient. I would say the only down side is the price for the younger kids is on the high side because they usually don't/can't eat that much. There is a 8% charge in addition to tax at 9.8%. To make matters worse, nothing is labeled, so you have no idea what you're putting on your plate. This has the usually stuff you find at at an Asian buffet like teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, soups, fish, crab, etc. Even had stuff like regular fried chicken wings and seasoned fries. I could only one more serving of those until I got tired of it. The only saving grace, at least for me, was the salmon sashimi. I kept on going back for that and made sure I got my $45 worth (that's how much it costs for one person here). Worst buffet ever. 1 hour wait for table, 1 hour wait for food because the line for protein that's cooked in front of you is ridiculous. The serving area is only open on one side instead of both sides to make it more efficient. Constantly ran out of dishes I had to ask for plates, sauce dishes, bowls for the soup line. Everyone was so confused and staff just shrugged like "it'll come out when it comes out". The food was ok at best. The cooked protein had zero taste, not worth waiting 1 hour in line. I think the soup bowl is the best dish. Their dessert was absolutely horrible. I'd never ever ever come back here and I would tell others to not waste your money. Pretty great bang for your buck! I learned about this buffet opening up in June and had to check it out! They do not take reservations unless you have more than 20 ppl in your party (wild). My family and I went it on a Monday evening at 6:15pm and surprised to see no line! The restaurant requires you to pay in advance and if you have a birthday, they require to show ID (because the birthday meal is free!) There's so many stations which makes it such a good variety! However, the flavor was lacking in multiple dishes, and I did not feel satisfied with the quality of the meal. I did enjoy the Korean BBQ station where you select different meats and veggies and they grill it for you. In addition, the snow crab legs were tasty, but there is a limit on how many you can get each time. The restaurant was very crowded, and while customer service was friendly & attentive, the atmosphere was alright and nothing special. I did not like how the sushi area lacked signage and along with no information on ingredients. Therefore, it may be less ideal for people with certain dietary restrictions or for those who have food-related allergies or picky eaters. Pretty average buffet! But I will say, Kome was better. Came here on a Monday for lunch at around 10:50 and the lobby was already open. It's honestly so chaotic when you first get in, they seriously should establish a better system. Basically, you go to the middle lane, get a number, wait for your number to be called, pay for the meal, and wait again to be seated. We were number 42 and it took us about 25 minutes to get seated. The food was alright, but there wasn't a lot of variety. Two buffet stations practically had the same food. Tables were also so close together, the person behind me was basically touching my chair back to back. There was also no boba drinks, is that just for dinner? I'm not sure. People are also kind of rude and randomly cut in line, but that's not the restaurants fault. The best thing in this buffet was the malatang. Pretty worth it just for that in my opinion! A Promising New Start for a Familiar Spot, But Major Improvements Needed. As a local who has seen a few restaurants come and go in this exact spot, I was excited to see Daly Buffet open its doors. We went to celebrate my dad's birthday and to check it out during its opening week. Be prepared for a wait--we arrived at 11:30 AM and waited about an hour to be seated. There are some definite bright spots. The interactive Malatang station, where you pick your ingredients for a custom soup, is a fantastic touch. The same goes for the teppan grill. Having self-serve bottled drinks included in the price is also a huge plus. However, the buffet is showing some serious growing pains. The biggest issue was the food stock. By 12:30 PM, many of the trays were empty, which is tough during the peak lunch rush. The overall food quality was decent but didn't quite live up to the level of Kome, the previous buffet here. Long lines for the stations and a typically chaotic buffet atmosphere are to be expected. I'm rooting for Daly Buffet and hope it succeeds where others have failed. To do that, they'll need to focus on keeping the trays full and managing the crowds more efficiently. read more

After losing two buffets in the area during the pandemic, Daly Buffet back in the daly city! It's also super exciting to see all the customers rushing back to the buffet just the first week alone! Expect long waits during lunch or dinner times. I went here twice during a lunch($26) and birthday dinner($42) meals. For birthday, the conditions are that you need to be in a four adult paying group, one being the birthday person and they allow one day before your birthday for your free meal as well but bring ID for proof! Both times place was packed and lobby was filled with hungry guests. Food was good but keep your expectations low since a-lot of the food goes out fast. I'm super happy that this establishment is back and now can finally go to the movies again and get a feast afterwards! read more

Me and cousin Grew up eating snow crab leg buffets at the Jersey shore, we came for the crabs Crabs are all skinny. My cousin was surprised when I did get a good one. The front area during busy time is chaotic Other Food low/mid tier Price $50+ pp bc there's a service fee Bathrooms dirty Saw someone leave the bathroom without washing their hands Cousin said the women's sink was flooding and she had to plan a whole thing to wash her hands really quickly so it wouldn't overflow the sink. We waited for 30 minutes when they called our number We paid for 4 people before we were able to sit down Got the diy soup and asked for the Thai broth, it was tom yum flavor, had a nice kick to it Had sushi, fried shrimp, dim sum, Korean short ribs, made to order noodles And a huge variety of refrigerated green tea brands Will come back again read more

We came here for dinner and it wasn't what I expected. When we got in, u have to pay at the counter. An 8% surcharge is added to the bill(which is the tip)and u get taxed on the tips as well. We got seated and the place was actually pretty nice. It's very clean.. We went to get some sushi. All the fish are not fresh at all. They tasted like it was frozen before. The abalone soup was tasteless. There was a fish that was bought out so I got a scoop of it thinking it should be good or at least ok but it was so bland. All I tasted was oil and a hint of jalapeño. The shrimp crab claw was bland too. Usually u tasted that shrimp but this was almost like it was made of fish with no flavor. My little boy had some jelly and it wasn't good.
