They have an area where you can pick your meat and they bbq it for you, Malatang station, dim sum, seafood, sushi, desserts, soup, fruit, fried food, Chinese food, drinks, ice cream, etc. Some items can be a hit or miss, so maybe get a small sample of each thing you want the first time around. Their meat, fries, and some of the seafood and sushi is good. It can get busy, so you may have to wait. Unless you make reservations especially for a big party! Disgusted How do the employees not know to lock the bathroom while cleaning a restroom not cleaning while people are in there ? I went to the ladies room to change my daughter the babies changing table is outside of a private stall which was already annoying, no one should see a childs private out in the open like that then mid change i see a male coming out form a stall and cleaning the restroom, he looked at us and kept working what wouldve been appropriate is to close the bathroom while cleaning or to step out as soon as you noticed i was changing my baby, and there were other women in the bathroom too. Its so weird how this is normal. Made me so uncomfortable i spoke with an employee, he later said muttering which it was the time of the shift to clean the bathroom HORRIBLE answer, VERY DISAPPOINTED Don't feel safe taking my family here again if its okay for a man to be in restroom watching me change my child and while other women are doing their business in there it was very violating. It was my first time dining at Daly Buffet and it was a pleasant surprise. We had our club function here with 51 senior over 65 adults. We were given the back room which we took over 6 tables for 8 to 9 people at each table. We had reservations at 11:00am when the food was fresh. Parking was very easy in the lot. I was looking forward to some sashimi but they only had nigiri. There was also no ha gaw or sui mai. I was impressed that there was a beverage station that offered bottled water, bottled tea, fountain drinks and coffee. There was also individual containers of ice cream - vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Some of our people made root beer or Coke Floats. Onto the food. The pig trotters needed to be cooked Longer. The chicken feet were excellent. They even had tripe in the dim sum area. The black lava bun was nice and had some egg yolk custard in it. There was some fresh lychee - very juicy. Their naw mai fon or sticky rice was delicious. The small little tamale had some red bean mixed with rice. The cost per person for this luncheon which is offered Monday to Friday was $26.99. With tax and tip it was a total of $30.14 per person. I was happy with my lunch. One more thing - the WiFi sucks. There is no internet so you cannot even check in when you get there. read more

I came with my mom today, and her senior price was $24.49, which is a nice discount. She was satisfied with the food. Food-wise, it's a mixed experience. The hot dishes are mostly either very spicy, heavily fried, or covered in sauce, which tends to mask the natural flavor of the meat, not really my preference. There's also a selection of dim sum, desserts, fruits, and sushi (though I skipped the sushi since it didn't look very appetizing). The drink options are fairly varied, which is a plus. One thing to note: the bathroom floor was very slippery. There was a yellow caution sign, but I do wish they would address the issue more thoroughly rather than just relying on a warning. Nowadays I'm not a huge fan of ACYE but our club had its Mother Day celebration here. We occupied the private room in the back. The food layout is very similar to the previous ACYE occupants. Pros: * nice beverage station with refrigerated drinks and bottled water * little cups of ice cream - vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry * good turnover at sushi station. Various sushi rolls. Hamachi nigiri and ebi nigiri stood out. * the dim sum station offered small tastings. The sticky rice was great. Cons: * the pig feet was hit or miss. Of the three pieces I had only one was tender. * the sushi rice was hard. And too much. More than a finger high. That's to fill you up faster. * the hot entrees looked very greasy. I passed other than trying the Japanese eggplant. * the tables in the main dining are lined up and butted together one row after another. Similar to eating in the school cafeteria. I didn't get to try the noodle station. Looked like something I'd enjoy. And forgot to take photos. Free parking in the garage next door shared with Century movie theater. Pro tip: the door of the handicap stall in the women's restroom is very sticky. I tried to lock it but didn't succeed. Then I tried to exit out and had a difficult time. Nothing amazing but also not bad. I went here for dinner on a Tuesday for my mom's birthday. My family loves buffets so I grew up going to so many. We saw this on social media so wanted to check it out. Parking was very easy, we parked at the garage next door. The buffet was so spacious inside, so much seating. It wasn't too busy and there was a good amount of people there on a weekday. Everything is self serve. For drinks, there's a drink station area where they have a selection of sodas, drinks in the fridge, coffee, and tea. I thought it was unique that they have a malatang station. I definitely had to check it out. It wasn't bad but it was just super salty o.o I think that they need to add more soup to make it less salty. I liked that they had potato noodles yum. I was excited to try out the clams and it was quite bland. I went to try the bbq station where they cook the meat for you. I got the short ribs and ribeye. The short ribs were very sweet and fatty. I could only eat one and the ribeye was just ok. It was quite thin and it was a bit overcooked. I liked that they had a dark chocolate fondue station and a self serve packaged ice cream area. I thought I got a bad packaged ice cream since it was very mushy. I just took it out of the fridge, but I checked out the other ones in the fridge and it was the same as well. Me and the crew just got into SF for work and I needed to feed them. I know pleasing 5 different people for dinner is a trick, but I've been with this crew long enough to know that a Chinese buffet keeps them all happy, they can eat whatever they want and as much of it. It was a bit of a rude awakening when I saw the dinner prices compared to all the other buffets we'd been to. Welcome to SF! $40 bucks per person for a buffet. This seemed like a regular standard Chinese buffet with the usual, wings, ribs, sweet and sour stuff as well as some more Chineasy fish dishes and a selection of sushi. Glad the company is paying the bill! Service is the usual Asian buffet kinda just clear the plates and fill the drinks, we ain't here to be you friend. Unless you speak Chinese, you just make hand signs. I think it's Cantonese they speak here, just guessing. One of my favorite buffets in the Bay Area ! It's a very popular place to grab lunch. The prices are pretty reasonable. It does get crowded so I suggest to come early, especially on weekends. Inside the restaurant itself is a modestly lit atmosphere that works for what they are trying to achieve. The service was ok and we were seated within good timing even though it was on a Friday. It's been a really long time since I've been to a buffet. I know this location has been a buffet the last 3 businesses so it's always interesting to see what the changes are with new ownership. You pay immediately when you enter and seniors (65+) get a 10% discount. They'll bring you to your table with your party and they'll tape your receipt to your table. They tape it there so they'll know when you're seated and you only have 90 minutes to eat. The items were pretty standard buffet items - things that could sit out for a fairly long time. There wasn't anything that stood out particularly but I do think they were well staffed and their bathrooms were clean. I got full pretty quickly as I'm not a big eater so I wasn't able to try the teppanyaki station or malatang station but I heard they were good. My family rented out the back room for a gathering of about 40 people, and I really appreciated that this restaurant was able to comfortably accommodate such a large group. The space worked well for our event and made it easy for everyone to enjoy themselves. The food selection was very diverse, which was a big plus. They offered a wide range of options, including Chinese, Japanese, and even Italian dishes like pizza, so there was something for everyone. Invited to lunch at Daly. This place is at least the 3rd buffet restaurant all under a different name. Looks like slightly remodeled but basic set up still the same. We had 20 people and had 3 tables of 8 people in the back private room. We went for lunch on a Friday and we were all seniors. Good choice of variety and most dishes were decent to some were very good. Service of the waiter in the private room was very efficient. Lots of variety and even the help yourself to drinks was plentiful. I heard usually you have 1-1/2 hours to eat and they want you out but we were able to stay over 2 hours without being asked to leave. I think it wasn't that crowded. Honestly... this might just be my guilty pleasure... don't tell anyone. You pay before you eat (which imo makes perfect sense). Dinner is $36 per person and lunch is $27 (definitely come for lunch instead, its more worth it). They have a drink bar with sodas and fridged drinks (and coffee + Lipton tea). I personally liked their Pear juice with rock sugar! Really refreshing and it's fun to try all the drinks out too! What makes this buffet stand out is their teppanyaki grill and malatang bar. They have great selections within those two stations. The grill has great beef short ribs (you can only grab two at a time but just get back in line afterwards) marinated surprisingly well. Their bulgolgi is actually super good too (I like to add onions + bell peppers). I don't recommend getting the pork belly just because its not AS tasty. Don't need to wasting those valuable calories there. The Malatang bar has 4 different soup flavors: Mala, tomato, Thai, and regular bone soup. I got the regular bone soup and it's pretty refreshing. Their sushi and raw fish was solid and tastes exactly as you want it to taste and NO upset stomach after (huge win!). Their crab is definitely not worth getting, personally. It was kinda bad and bad NOT as in rancid but bad as in the meat was kinda snowflakey and not the taste I like in crab - but thats just me! Their dimsum, however, is 1000% skippable. It's basically frozen dim sum they steamed up. I don't recommend that. Their regular buffet food (orange chicken, mein, fried rice, broccoli, etc) is all really solid. The rest are forgettable, but at least it is all you can eat. Do you remember when Kome got hit with massive fines for wage theft and tax evasion in 2019? Then the owners rebranded it as The One. Excited to try out this buffet and to see how it compares to the previous Todai Buffet. First the layout is pretty much the same. However, there is the addition of the Korean Bbq and a section for help yourself beverages. Lots of flavored bottled teas in the fridge. The BBQ section can take time. First, pick your meats. Short ribs is limited to 2 only. Place the plate on the counter and the staff will help you BBQ it. However, this does take about 5 mins depending on the line. The staff separates the veggies and meats and when they are done, they put the plated food on the top of the counter. Beware, if you do not keep an eye on your food, someone else may take it because they do not give you a number or name, so you just have to watch them cook your food to keep track. This is where all the moneyyyyyyy is! Iconic crab leg, limited one order per round per person and they serve it to you (I believe that is the same for the abalone). Everything elseeeee is up for grabs yourself. I think the most worth it are the seafoods - crab, muscles, abalone, herbal soups, crayfish. The malatang bar was nice too. Cherry on top are their full size soft drinks! Anddddd the rest are ok. There are more seafood on the hot and fried food sections but I think those are less worth it. Winners: Sushi - tons of salmon, some tuna all sliced up and ready to grab, along with Salmon Nigiri and rainbow and dragon rolls which were pretty decent. I spent most of my meal here. Marinated Beef Short Ribs - Grilled to order - really good, but maybe add a dash of BBQ sauce to it. Dim Sum - pork with black bean sauce - tender and yum! Not the biggest pieces, but very tender and flavorful. Broccoli & Tofu - from the steam tray - Broccoli on point and enjoyable but the tofu was tough. Desserts and Soft Drinks - serve yourself! Much better than having to ask a waiter/server to get the drinks for you like the old Moonstar or Todai AYCE buffets. Came here with my family to celebrate my aunt's birthday and I was surprised by the vast amount of options they have here! That's definitely a plus but there were a lot of ups and downs with the quality of the food. The malatang was the best thing there - their pork bone broth was hearty and flavorful. My husband was excited for the sashimi and raw oysters but soon realized it was a bad idea.. He said the fish was not fresh and the oysters had an odd taste to them and had a stomach ache shortly after. The regular Cantonese staples there were solid. I particularly loved how they cooked the string beans and broccoli. Now, the strangest thing happened while we were there. The fire alarm went off and there were alerts telling people to evacuate the building but everyone kept eating. I thought it was strange until I overheard a staff member telling a customer that it was from a restaurant nearby. I wonder why that would sound their fire alarm system though. Daly buffet was such a letdown and definitely one of those places where you're just praying you don't get sick afterward. I even went right at 11am when they opened thinking it'd be fresh. I usually hate wasting food, but I straight up had to spit out so many things because they were literally rancid, the sushi felt like it had been sitting out since yesterday, and the imitation crab salad, fried donuts, pork spare ribs, and even the tofu from the mala tang were all completely inedible. To make it worse, the "clean" soup bowls still had food bits stuck to them from the dishwasher, and people were literally trying to cut in line right after you pay. The only decent things were some of the dim sum, the steamed fish, congee, and the mala tang meats, but it was still not worth $26.99 for lunch . Among my guilty (really not that guilty) pleasures in life is hitting up a buffet every now and again. Even though the food is never as good as what you can get from a regular sort of restaurant, it's fun being able to get a little of this and a little of that in whatever amounts you so desire. So, it's easy to understand why so many folks, like me, have been so excited to see Daly Buffet come along! Compared to when Kome Buffet used to call this space home, Daly Buffet looks both fresher and notably cleaner (new tables, chairs, and fixtures). However, other than those somewhat superficial changes, the layout of this place is largely the same - a huge dining room, with a large private area in the back, and different stations scattered about offering a range of dim sum items, salads, sushi, sashimi, seafood, tons of hot foods, desserts, and a couple of counters where you can get made-to-order noodle soups and grilled meats. Based on everything I tried, the vast majority tasted fairly comparable to the same/similar dishes Kome used to offer. Certainly, some items weren't as good, such as their chicken wings (smaller, not as crispy) and char siu/BBQ pork (kind of dry, bland). However, others were far better, particularly their sashimi (thicker cuts, better quality) and sushi rolls (not doused in sauce). What's more, their seafood is more impressive (crab legs, mussels, clams, crawfish, and raw oysters) and their made-to-order noodle soups are surprisingly solid - several broths and a wide range of goodies you can add, like beef, lamb, fish, lobster balls, beef balls, fish balls, several types of noodles, and more. Along with those improved offerings, there are two other big changes about Daly Buffet. The first is that drinks are now included as part of the price. Not a big deal if you were to opt for water, but it's nice that they have a variety of Asian teas and juices in addition to your typical soft drinks. Second, they are a "tip free" restaurant...sort of. While tips aren't expected, but they do apply an 8% service charge to every bill (12% for parties 20 or more). Since we figured/feared there would be a crowd when we came here on a Saturday night, we opted to get here at 5pm and were able to get seated immediately. As such, we didn't encounter the long lines that others have mentioned, but the place did get noticeably busier as the night wore on. That said, even if we did, we wouldn't have minded a short wait to come here. Given how the only other buffet around (Beijing Buffet/King Sun Buffet in South SF) isn't all that good, Daly is the only real option, but even if they weren't, the food is still decent enough for a buffet to justify the occasional splurge. I am not sure why this place has low reviews. I came in with low expectations, but left with higher expectations and was very content with my happy tummy. Came here on Saturday for 12pm lunch and it wasn't crowded. Glad we came time as we waiting for our whole group of 6 yo arrive. Nice waiting entrance with seats on side of walls and about 3-4 cashier at counter. Sign on left wall said limit 90 minutes eating. Finally my party arrived and we were seated near the front. Tables spaced apart so had room to walk around the tables. Let's get our drinks first on the left wall side. This is cool , you self serve your drinks at the refrigerator, the Soda machine or coffee machines. Then outside if it is a freezer with either chocolate or strawberry ice cream. You can also get new utensils here as well. Then we went back to our seats to put drinks at our seats and headed to far right side to get our plates to start the fruits or just jump to the dim sum side with the salted lava buns and taro buns. Yummy start. Then got to the limited edition section of three items. I didn't know what they were, but I got the limit one per person until you eat all of it and then you can keep coming back. Hey you need to get some exercise and not be too fat just sitting and eating all day. I feel this is fair, I hate selfish hoarders who pile their plates and leave scraps or nothing behind for the next people. How rude! Well no worries here, no bad manners here and I was impressed with people waiting patiently for the chef to cook either their custom built ramen soup or grab 2 meats and have them grill it. Yummy oh you bet I came here for this. After this station, came the typical Chinese food station, fried chicken was crispy and yummy drumlets, fried rice, chowmein, chow fun, cooked crab legs , string beans yummy, other items meat and seafood, small section of bbq pork and duck. then last circle sections the sushi section with the desserts like chocolate fountain. Sushi was good average and I enjoyed it. I like the seaweed, salmon and unagi eel and specialty ones with sauce on top gave flavor to sushi which I liked or were the standouts for me. I was able to almost half of everything and I feel this is a good buffet with unique things I haven't seen elsewhere like mini abalone section of those three limited items one for each person at a time and getting your own refreshments at refrigerator! It's a good buffet has something for everyone and guaranteed you won't leave here starving. It may not have a vast selection of food, but I think because they are focused the quality of food is good. I can tell different with low quality vs. higher quality of food. I hate Hometown buffet which I admit because quality of food was negative and I have had better. I been to Las Vegas buffet so I know my buffets well. No buffet is perfect, but each has their specialties. I like the spacing of the atmosphere where I never felt cramp. Just be careful of the slippery floor and you be good. I saw a section where a family was celebrating someone's 100tj birthdays! Wow! That is amazing . This place can accommodate large parties and there is a separate dining room in back of main room dining room. Would I go back, yes I would. Yummy in my tummy! FYI, I went twice by the time you see this review. This buffet replaces the popular Kome buffet. It's been so long since Kome was there that I don't remember it enough to give it a proper comparison. Long wait time to get in if you go during peak dinner time (also depends on your party size). You get a number ticket, then when you get called you pay at the front desk. Then you wait some more while they get your table ready. Then they take you to your table. Since there doesn't seem to be a time limit, people I've known eat for 3+ hours! Food stations were kinda messy and high risk of cross contamination. Seafood areas were picked clean a lot of the times lol. Quality of food was okay; not amazing but not bad either. I really enjoyed the malatang station where you can pick your ingredients, and the cook will make your soup with your soup of choice. Bone broth was soooo good The teppanyaki line was very long but did not try. The cooks/kitchen staff were not wearing proper PPE when cooking so I worried not only for sanitation/cross contamination issues, but also for their health! Teppanyaki guy was getting all that grill smoke in his face and eyes! Bussing/wait staff frequents your table to clear out dirty plates so you'll always have room for more plates of food. Taking away points for: Ladies restroom sinks were flooded. The beverage dispensers in the drink area pumped out carbonated water instead of regular water. Overall, if you're looking for *okay-ish* AYCE Chinese food once in a while, give this place a shot. But nothing too crazy at the moment.
