I love Dalrock Diner. It's a little cozy and seating can be limited. Approximately 25 booths and tables. The menu has just what you need for any craving. Biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles, omelets etc. I can't remember her name but the waitress that we seem to get every time is always very nice and gives quick service. A good local breakfast place. You'll see all walks here. Never had a bad experience here. read more

First time here. This is a delightful little 50's diner with music that matches. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They will not let your coffee cup go dry. The blueberry pancakes are tremendous. Now we had a special place where we came from that had great blueberry pancakes but these beat those. I had the 2x2x2 and was just enough. We just came here for the first time and we had such a great experience! The food was so yummy, I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast and my husband ordered the jalapeño skillet. All the food and sides were delicious. Our waiter was awesome and he was very knowledgeable of the menu. We will come back often, we loved it here and had the best time and great food! read more

We LOVE Dalrock Diner! My goal is to try everything on their menu. It'll take awhile because there is so much to choose from. Love the turkey and dressing special! The TX waffle is one of my daughters favorite. Breakfast served all day! And can't go wrong with their salad if you're not too hungry. There is definitely something for everyone! The food was good, but I just couldn't get over the size of the place and the condition of their utensils. I felt claustrophobic inside at a table, because they definitely have too many tables in there. Plus, you have to get in line to pay at the register, which is also where new customers line up as well. I ordered a steak and eggs meal. The fork and knifes were in bad shape. Their were indentions and scratched all over them. The handle of the steak knife looked like a dog chewed on it. Maybe they were going for that look, but I was not impressed. Ordered a Yankee Reuben and chilli cheese fries off GrubHub, receipt on the bag when picking up confirmed everything. Firstly, when I walked in I got a very uncomfortable vibe, was not greeted friendly and had to ask if my order was finished, which it was just sitting on the table behind the gentleman and they never updated their system; the lady said they had updated it but even now it's still showing ready for pick up. Secondly, asked for the 1000 island dressing on the side but it was on the sandwich when I picked it up, also there was no cheese on the chilli cheese fries. While the sandwich could have used more meat it tasted good was just soggy on pick up due to the dressing being on the sandwich. I'm sure this will be an ok place to sit and eat in but take out was a bit disappointing and picking up the order felt very uncomfortable. I probably won't be coming back here. read more

Every 5 weeks or so, I make the trek out to Rowlett to get my haircut by the stylist who has cut my hair for nearly 15 years. On this particular day I was there very early, and wanted to snag a good breakfast somewhere. Dalrock Diner was on the way, and when I arrived, there was not a soul in sight other than the staff. The lady who helped me was incredible. Kind, sweet, seasoned. She knew that menu. I got the biscuits and gravy with hash browns (the least of all of the menus evils) and I enjoyed it. The biscuits didn't hit hard with baking powder, and the gravy was meatless, which I appreciated. I lingered, enjoying conversation, and the place got full about 8AM. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. One thing that stuck out was a big sign saying "order your holiday pies now." However, the pies looked very much like frozen box pies. The cake, absolutely mass produced. I didn't try it, but the display gave all of these signals. It's a tough call between this place and Hubbard's, but you can't go wrong with either. read more

Tried for the first time yesterday and it won't be the last! We were greeted & seated towards the back of the "nostalgic" small diner. First, placed drink ordered drinks and after looking at the menu, decided on chicken fried steak fingers with mashed potato & grilled veggies and the Greek dinner. Both were very tasty! I remember when this location first opened. From day one, the staff has been so kind to me. I spent a lot of hard times here only to be greeted with hot cocoa and plenty of pie. They have very generous portions, huge pancakes, and my favorite....PIE. Pie here is what I look forward to when I visit from Austin. They are nothing short of divine. You better bet that next time I am in town, I will be back for a slice of crème pie. read more

Great diner food, hand breaded chicken, homemade chicken and dumplings, nothing frozen here. If there was one thing they could do better would be to control the temperature of the restaurant. It's always super warm, like 78 and up warm. Even the servers have agreed and they will adjust the temp but it's like they're trying to save money on cooling costs. read more

Dalrock Diner is a good place to eat at with a buddy. Although the food was a bit pricey for an average breakfast you can make at home, it certainly is prepared quite nice, and it is tasty as well. What I enjoyed about this diner, other than the food and friendly staff, is the retro theme that gave the whole place a nice vibe. The music as well goes along with the diner. Overall, it's a good place to have breakfast and I recommend bringing a friend. :-) read more

This diner is in an old Sammy Walkers bbq joint, so the building can best be described as quaint and it's more of a blue jeans place than a wear a suit restaurant. Order to go: hubby and I both ordered the chicken fried steak fingers. They are so good. The crust is flavorful and does not crumble off even with this being a to-go order. The white gravy is delicious. Their rolls are homemade and so yummy dipped in their gravy. We have ordered these several times and always love them but wanted to spread the word. read more

Never being here I checked out the entire menu for a bit. Then after speaking with our server Claudia... WOW, baklava waffles!? Cinnamon bun pancakes!? Yes please on both. The eggs, hash browns and bacon was tasty as expected but Claudia's suggestions on the waffles and pancakes rocked!
