Exceeding my expectations the zucchini was amazingly fresh and well portioned! I had the mouth watering blueberry pancakes!!! Like I said hot n fresh!! Upon walk in, we were warmly greeted by one of the ladies and seated at a window view booth. Definitely felt like a neighborhood welcome because it's a small diner that seems to stay busy and just gives the vibes of everyone knowing everyone. Our waiter Romaine was a very nice guy and gave us great service with lots of feedback on their specials for the night. The decor is Coca Cola theme with collectibles and a nostalgic feel. My son loved the pancakes and bacon. My daughter enjoyed her cheeseburger w/extra pickles but not the mashed potatoes. I tasted them and they seemed light in taste. Perhaps w/the gravy it's tastier. I loved the fried corn on the cob and bep's (black eyed peas) for my vegetables. Chicken fried steak was a little tough to chew in my opinion. The hubbs disagreed and said he liked it. Not a bad flavor just tough. Mac n cheese was alright. I did bring the remainder of my chicken fried steak and the Mac n cheese home. We decided to get a strawberry shortcake and the banana pudding to go. The bill was more expensive than I anticipated for a diner but we enjoyed our family meals and dessert. read more

What a fun little gem. The atmosphere,right when U walk in takes u back in time. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is good diner food. My husband had the Cinnamon roll French Toast. My daughter had a hamburger with yummy fries. My son and I had Greek food, which was delicious! We ate the entire thing and the portions are good size. This was a great little spot for breakfast. Traditional old fashioned breakfast. Get the Belgian waffle, it's shaped like Texas. It was a little doughy in the middle, I really like slightly doughy waffles and pancakes. It was really enjoyable. Great place to eat! Never been before and so glad we tried it. Environment and atmosphere was really nice. The waitress and service was amazing. She was very friendly, helpful, and informative. The chicken fried steak and cream gravy were very good, as well as the Mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. Another person in our group said the scrambled eggs and biscuits were wonderful. Their chicken fried steak is bland, dry and chewy. All the waitstaff has horrible attitudes and the owner walks around in these sandals that practically leave him barefoot. If you enjoy eating breakfast with 30 other people in a room that should be considered a hallway it's so small than this is the place for you! They have long wait times but nowhere for the customers to wait and every worker you interact with seems miserable. Lakewood cafe is across the street & has better prices & a much more serene environment. read more

Hubby and I stopped in today to try this place out. It was around noonish when we got there. There was a 10 min wait not bad. The inside is really small, tables are very close together. Hubs order the CFS and pancakes on the side. I had the chicken and waffle. OMG food was delicious!!! We wanted to try the desserts but was full, but will definitely try it next time. The carrot cake looked amazingly delicious! Took a bit for food to come out maybe because of how busy it was but so worth it. Waitress was super nice and attentive! There was a gentlemen walking around not sure if he was the owner, thanked everyone for coming in. He thanked us for coming in and also gave us each a coffee mug super sweet! My husband and I went to this location due to the reviews. We were new to the area wanting to enjoy diner type environment with good food. We waited an hour to get food and never got our simple order of blueberry pancakes what I ordered. My husband ordered eggs, biscuit and sausage meal. We saw people coming in and getting their food. We never got our food and ended up leaving after waiting an hour. This location was racist and should put a sign on the door. The sign on the door should say, "No Color People Allowed". This is really sad but bill never be back to this location. read more

Dressing came in a sticky ball covered in very salty gravy. It's normally fluffy and perfectly seasoned. Maybe they've had some changes in the kitchen, not sure. I ate here with guests, every part of my order was screwed up. But they offered to make it right. I declined. I ate what they served me. The food was delicious. The service was decent, I was not charged for my meal. If it was not for the blunder on my food order i would have gave 5 stars. I have dined here on a few occasions with no prior issues. The food here, well what I've had is so good. I've had the blueberry pancakes, fried pork chops, traditional items as well. I've been 3 times and pleased each time. My toddler approves of their kids mouse head pancake which is huge, she loved her breakfast as well. The service has been great. Just wish it was larger with more seating. I have been here a few times for breakfast and wondered what the dinner would be like. It was just okay not great.I got the chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and turnip greens. I suspect the turnip greens were the frozen kind like the ones I buy at Walmart because the turnips in the greens were perfectly cut into cubes. It was OK.The best thing was the cornbread. The chicken was dry and overcooked.The gravy and the mashed potatoes lacked flavor. I also got what they called the Reesie's peanut butter pie. It was average at best. They claimed that it was homemade but it did not seem like it. Their breakfast is probably the best meal of the day but I will try one more time at lunch to see if it is any better. I wanted to get some breakfast Togo and this popped up on my search. So I called to place my order. I was put on hold for a brief moment and could hear the cashier checking out the dine-in costumers. She was so polite as she was ringing them out. Promptly got back to the phone to complete my order. I go to pick it up and every single employee greeted me as I walked in. Had my order to go right on time and they we're just so friendly!! Service is second to none. I don't typically leave reviews, but as someone who spent years in the service industry, this type of customer service stays with me. Im just going to be one hundred percent honest on this one. I like Dalrock Diner. The staff is extremely nice and knowledgable about their food. There does seem to be a lack of care around the food an d atmosphere though. Breakfast has always seemed very overpriced to me, especially when I can make it at home. At Dalrock Diner, my hashbrowns and onions were not fully cooked, and my plate was a bit of a mess. My eggs were wrong, but I can be very picky. The manager is amazing, such a wonderful lady. However, being a germaphobe, I will not frequent this place due to the mess. Even the pictures on the wall had ketchup smeared on them. I think with a little care and elbow grease Dalrock Diner could be a hit!! read more
