I stopped by Woodbridge Cafe for breakfast on my way to meet a Customer in Wylie this morning. I ordered a typical American breakfast from the various dishes on the menu. The sausage patties, sunny-side-up eggs, hash browns, and buttermilk pancakes were all delicious, especially the eggs, which were really fresh. I've been here before and knew it was a delightful experience so we're back! As you can see just something simple was called for and they delivered, service was prompt and a good sense of humor was included which is very important these days, as for the food it was what I expected and wasn't disappointed. YUM! I came here on a Monday morning with my family (2 toddlers; 3 adults) for breakfast and we were not disappointed! The location has plenty of parking and eeasy to find in the shopping plaza. The restaurant in itself is small so if you have a party larger than 10 you may feel cramped. The best part of this place is obviously the food which was DELICIOUS and AMAZING! I got the veggie skillet and it was the perfect breakfast. It had mushrooms, spinach, peppers & onions topped with hashbrowns, cheese and 2 over medium eggs. I loved it because it was flavorful but not heavy and the portion size was perfect. I also got a biscuit with gravy. The biscuit was toasted on the grill with butter which was new for me but it was delicious as well. The food came quickly and it was hot! We all loved the breakfast and service. The wait time at our fav breakfast spot, Scrambler Cafe was long so we thought we'd try out Woodbridge Cafe. Sunday morning wait time here wasn't bad for being as busy as they were- about 10 minutes. Our booth seats hadn't been wiped down and had stuff all over them, and one of them was sticky, but it was peak service time so we just wiped them down. Our waitress Lindsey gave some helpful food recommendations. I had the vegetarian omelette with grits and pancakes with a side of strawberries. It was a delicious omelette! Loved all my food. Especially liked how fluffy the pancakes are here. Our son said his hamburger was greasy but good, and he really liked the fries and the seasoning on them. Our other son ordered the banana pancakes and said they were pretty good and very filling. My husband ordered a BLT and said it was ok, but said the bacon slices weren't like the thick cut pieces at Scrambler cafe in Murphy. I want to commend the kitchen staff. We could see them from our booth and they were earnestly working to get all the orders out quickly. Hard to find reliable workers these days. I have been coming here frequently ever since it opened 2-3 years ago - only sporadically dining in nowadays due to the pandemic, but still ordering takeout and delivery often. I've noticed the quality has gone downhill after the change in management and portion sizes have decreased over time. They've been cutting corners especially in the past few months, but today was the last straw. The chicken tenderloins that I ordered for takeout this morning were very dry and almost inedible. My mom and I found the Denver Omelet to be overcooked significantly the past few visits; she is a manager at the Waffle House (a chain I'm not even particularly fond of) down the street, so we're familiar with how eggs are supposed to be prepared. Not to mention, the restaurant overcharges when ordering using 3rd Party Services, and then tries to persuade customers not to order from their 3rd Party Services in an effort to get free advertising. "We are asking everyone to use our Woodbridge Cafe branded app or website when placing online orders. We do have DoorDash, however they charge the restaurant high fees for every order. The customer is also charged higher fees to use the DoorDash service." Restaurant neglects to mention that the restaurant actually sets the menu prices to be higher - so in all, it's not so much that they are actually losing money off these aforementioned "high fees" charged to the restaurant by DoorDash. read more

Listen up Yelpers! While this is the usual strip mall place we all have to frequent in the area, this is the real thing as far as Food and Service go. Very courteous service, wide selection of offerings. Ordered the Hobo Skillet - eggs over sausage, onions and hash browns with cheese with pancakes on the side. Most excellent, very tasty! Done perfectly! The pancakes were perfect! Too many places don't know what they are doing as they cook them on too hot a service. You end up with pancakes with the signature cardboard surface that not only tastes bad but has a terrible texture. These were perfectly fluffy and delicious! My wife & I decided to try something new for breakfast... I really wish we hadn't bothered. I ordered the chicken fried steak while my wife had a bacon omelette. My steak was so tough I could barely cut it with a steak knife but, if eating gravy-covered gristle is your thing, then this meal will be right up your alley. My wife's omelette was charred on the outside, runny on the inside, and the few pieces of bacon we found were undercooked, almost raw; her toast was burnt and our sodas were watered down. To top things off, during the entire meal, a gentleman behind the counter was playing with some sort of device which was loud and very unpleasant on the ears. We mentioned this to the server and she just smiled and said that "He's the owner," then walked away. Owner? Really?? Are you kidding me??? What are you Five???? But then again, this would explain why the food tasted like it came straight out of an Easy-Bake oven. The "Owner's" time would have been much better spent insuring that his customers had quality food served in a relaxing environment instead of going out of his way to annoy his clientele. I would highly recommend Ballard Street Cafe in Wylie instead, it's a little farther out but well worth the drive unless you're looking for a weight-loss program and then by all means eat at the Woodbridge Cafe. Our meals "Left the Building" shortly after getting home and we were sick to our stomachs the rest of the day. P.S.
