Came here to meet up with my buddy, and found this spot. Atmosphere/Ambiance - 3.5/5 - Divey vibe, but I like bars like this. There is an outdoor area as well. Staff - 4/5 - Friendly, but took a while to come to our table. It wasn't packed, so I didn't really know what was the delay. Food/Drink - Ordered the following: - Burger - 4/5 - Came on a Monday when it was half priced. Would I pay full price? No, but it was good for the price (1/3 lb). - Fried Pickles - 3/5 - I am not a fan of the thick cornmeal fried pickles, so although it technically wasn't their fault, I am simply not big on these. - Fried Jalapenos - 4/5 - Cornmeal, but not as heavily breaded. So far extremely unimpressed. They do have plenty of TVs but unfortunately keep the volume so loud you can't have a conversation with the person next to you. The bartender is not very attentive and the location is not very busy. There's maybe five tables with people and about six of us sitting at the bar. I ordered the fried sampler platter which took almost 30 minutes to come. The bartender said there's only one cook in the kitchen and was overloaded with tickets. I don't understand being overloaded when there's less than 30 people in the entire place. December father itself is definitely not worth the money. The only thing I ate all of was the mozzarella sticks which were crunchy and did have flavor. The potato skins were not crunchy extremely thick full of just cheddar cheese and maybe two bacon crumbles on the top of each one. The cheddar fries were also not crunchy whatsoever and just covered with cheddar cheese and nothing else. I've now ordered the shrimp platter and will let you know how that goes and how long it takes to get it. Took only 8min to get the shrimp platter. Yay. Okay so the good and the bad of the shrimp platter. It only came with the cocktail sauce and the had to ask for some tartar sauce. The shrimp and the hush puppies I ordered were both very crispy and cooked well. However neither one had any seasoning whatsoever in the batter and seems like maybe it should have been just cooked for some old person that has no flavor palette. At least it's edible and I will be able to eat it since I am so hungry and was only able to eat the mozzarella sticks off the sampler platter. I am so extremely unimpressed with this place and do not see myself ever coming back. Very sad because it's only 2 minutes from the house and I was really hoping to like it and find a new little spot close to home. Still on the hunt. read more

Pretty solid for the night shift for a post drink. They have drink specials all week, and prices are good. Kitchen is open late at night which is a bonus too. They only had one server and one bartender on a packed Saturday, so it was a struggle for our orders to come out. Let's start with service. Holly was the bartender/waitress/foodrunner in the place so once I kmlearned that I expected service to be a little slow. Boy was I wrong. We were in town for a wedding and decided to check this place out because it was right down the street from where we were staying and I have to say that we were so glad we came in! We got to meet Scot and Rebecca who own the place and they were so awesome! Came on Thursday night and They had us try the catfish and taco and it was the best fried catfish I have ever tasted! Honestly, the food and service was great. But the Saturday night DJ is the worst DJ I have ever seen in my entire life and after looking at reviews it looks like it hasn't changed after a year. A mashup mix of slow country mixed with rap which would only make fans of either of those genres irritated upon listening and at such a loud volume there was no way to hold a conversation. Then after announcing he was bored he decided to sing slow country ballads to us. A lady did us all a solid and went over and turned down the speaker when he walked away. I tried Sachse Ice House after purchasing a Groupon. We decided to go on half priced burger night. My husband and I ordered burgers with regular fries and sweet potato fries, an order of wings and a couple of cocktails. The food was surprisingly good for a bar. Space can be pretty tight as there is only bar seating unless you're playing poker which seats 6-8 people per table. Parking can also be a pain with the small lot. Although we visited on half priced burger night, we could not use our groupon and the special together...not a deal breaker as burgers are $7-$9 depending on which size ordered. They have a nice little selection of craft beers that I enjoyed. My biggest knock was that the food was rather bland. The waffle cut fries were the same thing I can get at the grocery store and came out just warm. The bison patty needed some seasoning of some sort. Ive been coming to this location for about a yr. I usually come after 9 when i get off but i also come on my day off during the day. If you like smoking you can go out to the patio and you will get served. They have a good jukebox and music can vary. Its a small place so you better know somebody on busy nights to get a seat. Menu is fair. Catfish is by far the best thing on the menu. Wings and bugers and fries can vary on the cook. I usually pay 20% or more (tip out) but for the past month the bartenders have been mean or or non attending. You woukd think after coming here for over 14 months they just now know my name. Its a good little place bartender/server paul has always been friendly. But he only works fridays. Treat your server well or you can and will be ignored. They have bikers here but they are mostly good people. My biggest complaint is the bar service. Dont get on thier bad side. read more

Worst experience today at my fav hangout. Friendly banter between a customer that was rooting against the SAINTS today turned into personal threats and verbal insults. All while I am dining with my son. This is not acceptable and not family friendly. I mentioned this to the waitress helping out only to realize she was hanging with the peeps harassing me. Also i was double charged 3 weeks ago and i still cannot get anyone from management to correct the issue. i will have to address this with the credit card company. Talking with friends I know who go here have had the same issue with no resolution! One guy was even banned because he tried to get the double charge addressed. And thrown out! The beer's cold and there's no funky smells. It's a good dive bar, probably the best one off 78 if you're just looking to watch the game and catch up with friends. The food is subpar but then it's not much of an issue. The nachos are about what you'd make at home with kraft shredded cheese and leftover tortilla strips. The Ice House had their Halloween costume party last night. I showed up in my Big Bird costume. If only they a panel of judges I might have taken first. Contest was based on applause and a beautiful cat lady unzipped her leather top to expose some cleavage and the crowd clapped and shouted loudly. Cleavage vs Creativity.
