We arrived for a meal Monday and had the worst experience. We arrived at 7:29 PM and ordered 2 appetizers (salad and mozzarella sticks), 2 waters, and a frozen drink. After 10 minutes, we still had no drinks so my husband had to remind the server. He brought the waters but forgot the frozen drink and walked away before we could tell him. We waited over an HOUR with no food, no appetizers, and still no frozen drink. We walked out at 8:30 PM without eating anything. Completely unacceptable service and wait time. read more

Had lunch here on Saturday, Nov 1. We waited about 5-7 minutes before someone came to seat us. Once seated, the server took our order within 5 minutes. It took about 10 minutes to get our food. The salad and food we ordered was very good. The server was tentative. However my husband had to track him down to get our ticket to pay. But all in all, it was good. We will return soon. read more

Not sure about all these negative reviews. We were there for lunch on Monday and I didn't see any of this nonsense served up by the previous reviewers. We were greeted warmly by our server and received our drinks within a few minutes. There were people coming in all the time for their lunch too. We had chicken penne, a quesadilla burger and onion soup/w grilled cheese sandwich. We also had warm brownie/w with vanilla ice cream and a pecan blonde brownie/ w ice cream. The total was $56. Compared to a regular fast food place we got more for our money. I suggest you stop by at the Applebee's for lunch one day! (one of the guys has a walnut allergy walnuts on top of the brownie). There couple of weeks ago and waiter was more interested in holding up the wall than waiting tables. Had to wait to order. Wait for food longer than usual. I'm not sure if it's still on the menu but it definitely should be. I love the sweet and tangy taste of these wantons. Their bread sticks are actually pretty good and tasty! CLASSIC BROCCOLI BLACKENED SHRIMP ALFREDO ($14.99) This was pretty good! Blackened Shrimp is served warm on a bed of fettuccine pasta tossed with broccoli and rich Alfredo sauce topped with Parmesan cheese. Served with a golden brown signature breadstick brushed with a buttery blend of garlic and parsley. THREE CHEESE CHICKEN PENNE ($13.99)bHard pass. Not that good. Visit on Monday night. Experience was very very basic. I get that it is a basic restaurant but I could have microwaved better frozen chicken nuggets. The bartender never came and checked on us and I had one beer for my entire meal because she never came back and checked on us and everything needed we had to grab her attention. Although she was very cute and young, she needs training on keeping an eye on all patrons and chatter to a minimum in order to watch out for the needs of everyone at the bar area. So tonight I took my mom out for her birthday! Our family planned a trip to Applebee's as we have not been here for several years. Parking lot is very well lit and clean, we came on a Saturday evening after 7 PM and were served and seated immediately. The restaurant was very clean and had a great atmosphere. We all order our drinks and decided that the table we were at was not going to work for us due to handicap reasons with my mom. We asked our waitress if we could move to a different table and pointed one out. She agreed and said it was totally fine! She then comes back to serves us drinks and takes our food order. Everyone is having a great time until this sorry joke of a manager shows up. He comes out and in front of our family and several other guest begins to belittle and insult our waitress along with other staff members! it was completely uncalled for! She was clearly shaken by the way he treated her. I don't feel you should pay to eat somewhere and feel sorry for someone dude to witnessing them get in trouble for allowing us to move. So we were there about an hour and I witnessed this manager be a little and insult the same two waitresses 3 to 4 times during our visit. Given he didn't treat everyone like this as I also saw him smile and laugh and have a conversation with the hostess during our stay. it's weird because I don't know how to write a proper review for this business because usually it's scored based on my experience and things that happened to me. However watching this unfold while I was there made it very difficult to focus on spending time with my family. This was a good and safe place for Veterans and others until now. Went to pick up my to go order, pulled in indicated on the order site that I was in the spot for delivery. 30 mins pass and not order...went inside where the to go pick-up is and no one would help me. THAT was the only thing that kept us there .... besides the fact that there was nowhere else to go for Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving special was .... pretty bad. Me and my girlfriend walked in and sat at the bar. There was no greeter. There was no waitress . There was no bartender to even take our order. We sat there, the only two at the bar, for a whole five minutes and during this time a elderly Caucasian lady with glasses and hair in a ponytail poked her head out from behind the back twice, but did not help us. Went to Applebee's in Rowlett as it didn't look too busy for Mother's Day. Was seated fairly quick, with drinks provided equally as quick. A little slower to come take our food order, but they were short-staffed. It happens. Food came: burger under-cooked after being asked how it needed to be; dinner with mashed potatoes arrived, and the potatoes had obviously sat under the heat lamp way too long as they were rubberized and inedible. After several minutes, another server came by and we reported the potato issue, and they brought out a "fresh" dish which was an improvement. No refills offered on our drinks, never saw our initial "waiter" again, and a long wait to have them handle payment of the bill. Slow service, decline in quality of the food, and general lack of customer appreciation means we won't be going back anytime soon. If anything, service and food should be BETTER given the special day, but they either didn't plan ahead with staff or have staff that don't really care. Off the list for us! read more

We were then approached moments later and were told that we were not going to be served alcohol because two girls at our table "looked like someone who had been there before that tried to cause issues."
