Went to as usual to get my DAILY smoothie. Today I decided to order the Tropi-Colada and it tasted awful. I was only two steps out of the door before returning to the counter. I told the cashier that it was not good at all and he told me they do not do refund! I never asked for a refund, only to fix my smoothie and make it taste better. I asked for the manager, but suddenly no one speaks English! I spend here almost daily because it is closer to my home and I tip even though I always get my smoothie to go! What I got: Chipotle chicken club flatbread (a solid choice; soft and fresh flatbread, generous filling, and most importantly - they didn't skimp on the sauce) and the Sunrise Sunset smoothie (sooo good, always my go-to). Environment: A little cozy, but I feel like this is a to-go type of place anyway. I placed an order online at Tropical smoothie and went to go pick it up. As I arrive to grab my order I see a male employee coming out of the mens restroom wearing plastic gloves that look like the same gloves they use to prepare food. I watch as he goes behind the food prep area with the same gloves. I never saw him remove them. I called the manager to let them know and she said the employee was checking the restroom and used other gloves and removed them. The employee should have removed the gloves the minute he got out of the restroom, like clinics do after each patient to avoid cross contamination. read more

We came here at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon and got the Blimey Limey. Their sizes of smoothies are quite large! My sister and I shared a smoothie and still could barely finish it. The flavors were great, but the smoothie itself was a bit on the sweeter side. I also didn't love that they use styrofoam cups that aren't recyclable. This post makes me sad to write. We are new to Texas and this place was right by our home, and at the time my 1 year old LOVED their smoothies and grilled cheese. We are new parents, so we are always looking for that place that our kids will tell us one day " I remember when you would always take us there". This place was it, everyone was so friendly. The owner (African American guy forgot his name) connected with each customer (my family included) knew my daughter by name and her favorite smoothie. Then they sold to the new owner. I haven't ever seen a business go down the drain quicker. Their food became inedible, we would get her the same grilled cheese but it would be on cold bread with one slice of unmelted cheese (there are a few reviews who say the same thing) The smoothies taste more like water and less like fruit. The people they have working are far less friendly and look miserable. I hope they improve but most likely won't . It's obvious new owners is looking to cut cost as much as possible. Oh and the last thing - they do that super annoying new trend where they have the screen ask you if you want to tip or not. Even after being super rude and looking miserable, they can still ask for a tip. Oooof, this place went downhill. read more

I have a significant service-connected medical issue that prevents me from wearing a mask, and abided by Abbotts mandate to not be obligated to wear a mask due to my medical condition. In order to appease these folks, I walked in and placed the mask 3" from my mouth. The gentleman at the register refused service, even after I informed him of my medical condition and not being required to wear one by Abbotts mandate. Its their right to refuse service for anything, but refuse it to the disabled is blatantly wrong. I respect their right to refuse service, as now they will respect my right to make sure that people with lung or other disabilities who can't/are not obligated to wear masks know how they conduct their business, and they will be refused service even though they are not obligated to wear a mask. read more

Customer service is terrible and it starts with Anthony, the owner of this franchise and trickles down. Please do yourself a favor and visit another location! The owner talked back to me, gave me attitude, and wouldn't refund my order! I have been to numerous locations and they accommodate my special diet when I mistakenly order the incorrect item at no charge . But, at this location, not only do they charge, but they berate you in front of customers and won't refund your order! When we said it was our first time, the gentleman took the time to explain the smoothies, make recommendations and went on to say they could customize al.ost any way we wanted. The service was so welcoming and with COVID-19 safety precautions in place, the cafe did an amazing job accommodating to customers. Precautions were in place and it seemed as though many people were utilizing the mobile pick-up orders, popping in to pick up at the designated station. The drinks tasted good as always and the service was fast and sociable. Tried a triple berry oat this time around and wasn't disappointed. If you want something that will fill you up with some protein I would recommend. If you're feeling something that focuses more on the fruity refreshing side of things I would say go for the açaí berry boost - it'll still fill you up. Wonderful customer service and even better food. My first time at the Cafe and I did not realize they closed at 7 pm. If I could give zero stars I would. I know, I always read that line and think someone is being over dramatic, but this store has the absolute WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. And I dealt directly with management, not an employee. I placed a mobile order, but upon attempting to leave my house I realized my car key was with my husband. I called the store to let them know my situation and asked if I could change my order to be delivered. The manager told me once and order is placed it couldn't be changed to delivery, that's fine, I understood. After being informed of that I politely asked if he could issue me a refund for the order and I would immediately place the exact same order except for delivery this time. He told me since the smoothie was already made he could not issue me a refund "it is against store policy." I told him I would be placing an order for the exact SAME smoothie and he could even use the same smoothie they already made for my delivery order. They wouldn't be out any money. He continued to argue with me and refused to issue me a refund. He then suggested that he put my smoothie in the freezer and I could come pick it up later or TOMORROW. Yes, because I would love a rock hard frozen smoothie. THIS IS ALL FROM THEIR MANAGER ANTHONY. At this point I am beyond pissed and decide it's best I just hang up the phone. About 5-10 minutes later he calls me back and asks if I can go ahead and place my order for delivery. I asked if he was going to issue me a refund and he STILL SAID NO. Not only that, but everytime I tried to talk he would start talking over me. I waited to write this review because I called corporate, but unfortunately since each location is independently owned, they sent my complaint to the store. It was supposed to go to someone above the worst manager in the world, Anthony. I never received a response, or a refund for a smoothie I never got. So here is my experience. Not sure what is going on at this location but I only get negative vibes from who appears to be the owners a married couple i'm assuming. The women appears to be a little silly and childish, she could have been making my smoothie but she was too busy hanging on to her husband shoulder. I didn't want her husband i just wanted the smoothie that I came for, the service could have been quicker but instead i had to wait on the Mexican to get done with the other customer while the couple stand around, just pitiful and sad. After I felt a sharp scrape in my throat after taking a sip of my smoothie, I knew something was wrong. I ignored it thinking that there was no way that something got in there. I continued to drink it when I felt a strand of plastic. I still continued to drink it because I thought that mistakes can happen. However!! I found another piece of strand. I opened my smoothie and found more strands!!!!! It's likely that there were many strands because it was blended!! I placed a curbside pickup order and when I got back to work I realized parts of my lunch were not in the bowl. I called to ask for an IOU for a later time since I wasn't sure I would be able to get back there to get it remedied myself. I wish I could rate this location a minus zero but 1 star is the lowest I can choose. I ordered a smoothie and some quesadillas from this location for me and my wife on my birthday. The smoothie was watery tasted like sugary liquid and we didn't like the quesadillas tasted weird. We called to see if we could bring the smoothie & food back to exchange and get something else . We asked to speak with the manager and got someone that says he was the owner & manager who was a real idiot! I told him we bought a smoothie early that morning for breakfast and it was great no problems and why we decided to order lunch as well. He told us they didn't do make overs or exchanges and argued with us saying he is reviewing the cameras while on the phone and everything was made perfectly. I told him we been a customer for several years and has never had any issues but he didn't give care so I asked for refund which he also refused. I went off and told him I would be calling the corporate office to report this incident and would provide a review of our experience because his attitude was unacceptable he said he didn't care and that he "runs this place." So here is my promised "honest" review. I'll never visit this location again and if I don't hear back from the corporate office I'll delete my app and Tropical Smoothie will never get my business again. All this over $20 and I didn't ask for a refund until this idiots attitude got real nasty. I've probably spent close to a thousand over the years combined at other locations and this one in the past. If he is the owner which I doubt, he doesn't need to be in business of serving customers if this is the approach he chooses to take when they have a complaint. We are huge fans of Tropical Smoothie Cafe ever since we lived in Corpus Christi and visited the franchises there. We were happy to see them opening here in the DFW area, and this one does not disappoint! My husband and I stopped by this weekend.
