Absolutely gorgeous! It's an industrial-style saloon! Cement, exposed pipes, leather, hay-filled plexi tables, lots of metal, white chairs, and lighting in the shape of bull horns - and that's no bull! The place is just beautiful, and certainly a must for hotel guests, but definitely recommend for locals, too. It's a really nice surprise. The bar and restaurant of the NYLO hotel is just another extended into a cool place to hang, whether for breakfast or late-night kibitzing. They have everything you want to drink, and a very pleasing breakfast to dinner menu. Very reasonable prices!! The outdoor pool with fireplace is an amazing spot, too, and just outside the doors of LOCL, outdoor lounge furniture is awesome when the weather is right. For breakfast, I tried several things over a few day stay a the hotel: * Chicken & Waffles ($9) - fantastic chicken and fluffy waff http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/loft-cafe-and-lounge-locl-plano?select=s2lDGTMjJiXY3Ju_DRrrOg#w1NL6EfQjG0qBeH5JcMoJQ * "Bright Sunny Day" ($8) - eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/loft-cafe-and-lounge-locl-plano?select=s2lDGTMjJiXY3Ju_DRrrOg#eNyARsNC-Mv8xS6FqcvwoA * Berries & yogurt ($4) - aplenty at an amazing price (pic n/a) Didn't eat lunch or dinner, but the menu is solid, and again, at very fair prices: * Brisket tacos ($3.50 each) * Caesar salad ($8) * Flatbreads ($10) * Burgers ($10-$12) * Lobster Nachos ($11) * Mussels ($11) * Fish & Chips ($11) * Pan Seared Salmon ($14) * Tenderloin ($16) I understand they've had complaints in the past. Well, I don't know the full history, but the issues have appeared to me to be none and nil. A new restaurant director, hired about 3 months ago, may have been the right hire. Regardless, it's a winner now. This is a cool atmosphere and great happy hour specials, especially if you are staying at this hotel. Our server Jayce was really nice and attentive. The bartender was very accommodating and offered to taste a wine to make sure we approved. We ate the Ghost pepper flatbread and the margarita flat bread. The ghost pepper did burn the lips a little but only briefly. I enjoyed it. The wine pours were not cut short due to happy hour. The decor was contemporary but most of the seating was older and refurbished but comfortable. We were there from 4:30-6:30 and my husband finished some work and we were able to enjoy conversation as there is a lot of square footage and you are able to find a spot where you won't be interrupted.

Check out the review to match these undercooked wings.
    Amy B.

Chef just came by and said, "About the wings, they appear underdone." I said "They are underdone." To which he shrugged his shoulders. To his credit he offered something else, but I just couldn't. Especially when he came back to tell me again they weren't undercooked. Chef says we'll take care of your dinner, so my side of Brussels sprouts ends up free. To add insult to injury, after I asked for my bill, the restaurant manager comes over and says, "I hear your wings weren't to your satisfaction. I say, "They shouldn't be up to the satisfaction of anyone. They were undercooked." He says, "We'll take care of your bill." Enter bill. Complete with a $2 surcharge for my $12 martini because, "The $12 is for the Gray Goose and the $2 is for the additional alcohol." Taking a hard pass from here out.

Great bartenders and a cool atmosphere. The patio is tranquil with the lights, fire pit and lap pool. Oh and the all white pool table is beautiful

Swanky place in Plano to enjoy a night out for a adult beverage & lite bites. It's really a bar that serves food (not a restaurant ) atmosphere is minimalist and urban. Cool staff & cool vibes make It a group outing, getting loud is not a problem. I ordered a cosmo (ok) and Cape Cod (better) Queso and chips (tasty), but the music was fun and hip so all is well for a night in the burbs.

Beautiful presentation of the smoked salmon deviled eggs (comes with 4 total). But very fishy!

We booked a couple of nights at the NYLO for a mini stay-cation. Let me start by saying the only reason we even considered dinner at the LOCL hotel because of the $25 food credit that came with the room (and couldn't be used on drinks.) So we thought, okay- we will go have dinner. We ordered drinks first- nice beer selection on tap. The hubby was happy with a Stone IPA, and they even had other options. I opted for the NYLO Martini- since the ingredient list was impressive. I will say this martini was one of the best I've ever had. It was sweet, but the Prosecca added that bubbly taste, which was delicious. We decided to start with a few appetizers. I eyed the smoked salmon deviled eggs, and knew I wanted them. When they arrived, I guess I failed to realize that the salmon would be mixed into the deviled egg mixture, and that was kinda blah. It wanted to taste good, but it just tasted like someone drained a can of tuna and mixed it with their amazing deviled egg mixture. It was fishy and strong. Not a fan. And there were raw salmon eggs on top. Pretty to look at, but I didn't love the taste or texture. Next up was the beer battered zucchini sticks. These were okay. The zucchini was steamed or grilled nicely, but absolutely zero seasoning. I would have recommended this rare and inexpensive thing called salt. Apparently they didn't have salt in the kitchen. The tempura batter on the zucchini was probably the tastiest part. The 'spicy' orange colored sauce they served was actually in danger of ruining the awesomeness of the tempura. It has virtually no flavor, and there's no way the word 'spicy' would ever come to mind when eating it. It actually reminded me of a watered down thousand island, if someone had perhaps left out half the ingredients and tried to make it low cal. I might suggest packing some mini ranch cups or salt packets. Or tequila. Apparently if you have enough tequila everything tastes better. Or so I've heard. The last appetizer we tried were the Yuka Fries. I had high hopes, considering the description included the words garlic and lime. They sure were pretty, but my guess is that they were out of both the garlic and the lime that day. They were pretty bland. The ketchup served with them was actually one of the tastier things we had. I thought about ordering a separate dish of that and a straw. Instead- we asked for our check and decided to have a real meal at Goodfellas across the street. So there ya go! Beautiful hotel, but the food is bland. Pretty pics though. By the way, the staff is not very friendly or attentive. I wasn't impressed. We weren't greeted when we walked in, and the bartender seemed annoyed we actually wanted to order food. My recommendation: go to one of the 400 other restaurants on Preston.

A large table in the middle of the bar was filled with children sitting on their iPhones while waiting for a private party to finish in another room. Meanwhile, paying adult customers who had come in to have drinks had nowhere to sit. What was frustrating was that the staff allowed the group to occupy one of the main tables in the bar instead of asking them to wait in the private room where their party was being held. The bar was busy and several groups of adults were left standing while a table of kids took up prime seating. It felt poorly managed and honestly a bit strange to walk into a bar late on a Saturday night and see a table of children taking up space while adult guests were trying to find somewhere to sit. Would not recommend.

I'm a sucker for a salad with candied pecans. The harvest salad had goat cheese, pickled red onions, sliced fruit and whispered, summer nights. Up next, lamb lolipops on a bed of couscous, cilantro, basil, red onion and had this lime juice twist that paired well with the meat. The portions are on the smaller side. Ain't going to lie, I was lowkey wanting to head within the visinity afterwards because I was still hungry. That's what I get for splitting the portions! The menu is eclectic complete with girl's night out charcuterie option! The bottom level seating between sectioned bar and tables has no distinction. If casual cozy is what you want, then dine here. The jazz band was a blend of neosoul meets old school jams. If you knew, you knew. I felt sexy, cool, calm and collected. Not bad for a Wednesday night!
