Honest review from some one who is not picky about his food and doesn't Yelp much , but the food had no flavor and was soggy. The server refilled our drinks 1 time after we asked him to refill it , after sitting for almost 30 minutes with the whole table of 4 having empty drinks. Once we got there it took 20 minutes for someone to even come to the table . Horrible experience. Only positive was how nice the manager was Ed!! read more

We walked in with a group of people. We sat down, ordered drinks and showed our ids. We were then approached moments later and were told that we were not going to be served alcohol because two girls at our table "looked like someone who had been there before that tried to cause issues." (They had never been there before. EVER.). Im disappointed in the way the manager spoke to us and handled the situation. We just wanted to have a drink after work and were refused because we looked like somebody??? This is isnt the first time we've had issues with this location. We wont be back. read more

Not coming back to this location. We've been to this location a couple time as we get coupons now and then, and have never been super satisfied as our food always tends to be served slower than at other locations. Tonight was the same, but we had something that made us say we're NOT coming back to this place. The taco topped queso had part of the packaging in it. Not a small piece of packaging, it was the lid to a container for the taco meat! The waitress was nice but I'm not sure if the manager was notified as no one saying they were the manager came and apologized. This combined with slow service, and forgetting items with our meal led us to the final decision of not coming back. read more

We had to find the waitress (wasn't busy). There was a hair in my food, the chips were stale and we had to keep asking for stuff to be taken back. Didn't have enough staff around late lunch time. Burger was under-done. Totally not worth the time, go to Chilis. read more

My niece and I came over to Applebees after a short errand. The staff were great. Our waitress was very attentive and she was given a generous tip. The problem was the food. The fajitas tasted as if they were cooked on a kitchen stove and were tasteless. There was no seasoning on the beef. The French onion soup had soggy bread that had a really weird consistency than other French onion soups I have tasted. The pasta had very little flavor. The sweet tea was good as was the lemonade. They really need to stop serving certain foods if they refuse to season the foods correctly. Fajita beef should taste grilled, not boiled. Other than the tasteless food, the staff are very friendly. read more

There was a little bit of a wait but it was to be expected since we were a big group. Very contradictory to some of these other reviews, I was very happy with the service we received. Our server was on point with both drinks and food orders. Staff was super attentive and we got our food quicker than expected. Boom, boom, boom! We didn't get to finish our drinks by the time our server brought our refill. We will definitely be back here soon. read more

Came in for lunch a month or so ago and had a very friendly, helpful bartender. I had a couple of the happy hour $1 Vodka Strawberry Lemonades that were really good so note to self - we will come back here. Jump ahead to this week, there was a different bartender. Upon sitting down and asking about the previous existing drink specials, apparently they had drastically changed and this new bartender acted like I had asked the stupidest question. No smile, no hospitality, just a cold snippy response. Almost got up and left after that, but we stayed because of time restraints. Asked for a menu - there were two of us and she hands us ONE dinner menu. Not seeing the lunch specials and the salad we had previously ordered, we inquired and she says "oh you mean this?" Only then does she hand us the lunch menu. WTH!? Won't ever be going back. read more

OK I've been to the Apple many times and usually really enjoy the food but get frustrated at everything else. So, recently we went and were very happy with everything. The new burgers are freakin awesome! Apps and small plates very cool! Deserts are wonderful too! Respectable beer selection. If you've been frustrated with the service I suggest you ask for Robert. Relatively tall, thin African-American dude that was great. We will be back and ask for him. I think they are really trying hard to change the way people have thought of them. I think it's working, so long as they can get their service and accuracy right. They did for us this time. read more

If you are looking to waste too much money on disgusting food, this is the place to go! The service was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, our wonderful waiter brought us crap on a plate. I would give less than one star if Yelp allowed it. read more

There r 2 reasons I gave THIS Applebee's 5 Stars: "D" & Val. These two Bar Mixologists are the best Applebee's has to offer. Val has been here since it opened & D is the definition of "cool". They both work great as a team! I can see them in a 4/5 star bar/restaurant. They know their Sh!t. They r always upbeat & keep me coming back. I don't go to Applebee's unless they are working. Update TIIIIIIM! Tim is great too! Been watching these folks after hrs. Gotta tell ya, the staff after hours is what makes this applebees successful! Give them a raise! read more

I really like it here. We get almost the same server every time we come here which I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing, ha. The food is consistently good and I much prefer Applebee's over Chili's which is right across the way. The only issue I have with them is that their car side to go thing is not the greatest. Someone always screws up our order and it is so frustrating. Maybe they should consider streamlining their process more. Either way, this is a nice quick and fairly affordable place to eat in Rowlett and I dig them. read more

I couldn't believe my experience at this location. It started off with a hostess that wanted to be anywhere buy there! ... she tossed the menus and they flew across the table, no smile, no comment just a rude young girl! THEN it keeps going down from there. Opened silverware and knife was dirty and only 1 packet of silver wear had a straw, Ordered 2 Jell-O shots and 1 was liquid and had to reorder, received our appetizer and seemed as the salt shaker was dropped in the dip... sooooo salty, both the chips and artichoke dip, received dinner with visual floating grease and no side plates to serve ourselves (had to ask). DURING the shock of all these messes, I bent my head up in disbelief and looked up!!!!.... OMG I wished I didn't look up! EVERY ONE of the air vents were dirty, dusty, NASTY! The only reason it was not a 1 star was our waitress was very sweet! read more

Simple to say. Yesterday 12/11/2020 was my last visit to Applebee's. The service was terrible.

My boss ordered everyone Applebee's for lunch yesterday. The food was ready to be picked up on time. It was warm when ate it. Every one at the restaurant was polite when I picked up the food as well. We had fajita roll ups, several soups, chicken penne pasta, and a few other things. It was delicious! We will order from here again!! read more

Post covid-19 Applebee's has gone downhill. Was there last Friday with coworkers and the bartender (gorilla looking guy) was much to be desired. Did not inform of happy hour specials (I didn't bother to ask either) . Ordered a regular margarita with was about $9.50 (yes prices on everything are up) and the alcohol in this drink was almost non existent! I did make comment but was ignored. Also one of the coworkers requested a sample of the seasonal beer and was told we do give them but not today?! Another coworker asked for wine and a Sprite. Received the wine but almost 15min later after asking again received the Sprite. This gorilla bartender was not even busy. We decided to go the following Friday to Chillis where the happy hour margaritas for $4 were loaded and no issues asking for sample of the seasonal beer. Polite bartender. read more

The male kitchen manager that goes by "Lance" decided to come up to my table tonight on the patio and say we were not allowed to sit outside because it was an extension of the bar area. I understood where he was coming from and explained we only sat outside to smoke cigarettes when we pleased and didn't mean any harm by it. He proceeded to tell us we needed to leave because we weren't of age to sit in the area. When this was said I asked if we could move to a booth inside the dining area and just come out side to smoke whenever we needed to? He still shut me down and told me I couldn't be here cause I wasn't of age. I understand the bar gets busy late at night, but I was just coming in to eat some food and spend time with my friends? I was very disappointed in how disrespectful he was to me just because I sat on the patio at 11 pm. If I came with my family he never would've approached me. This bar serves underage kids all the time, I hear about it from people my age. The fact he can't realize that their were people inside sitting AT HIS BAR is the people he should be asking for ID Not me smoking a cigarette, about to order an appetizer and give your disrespectful location my hard earned money. He should be ashamed of himself for turning away completely harmless customers. I truly advise you to talk to this young man about his terrible attitude and to talk to people with some manners. I will not be returning to this location, and it's upsetting cause I'd come late at night all the time for the half price apps after 10. Apparently if bar is busy I can't eat? Makes no sense. 0 stars from me. read more

Awful food and service. Please save your time and money and eat at another establishment.

Highly confused on when sitting on the patio requires you to have to show I.D, even when you are just wanting to eat dinner and have regular beverages. Also, we had to wait 10 minutes to be acknowledged. The waitress in charge of the outside section was dismissive and told our party we had to move inside. Making the experience very awkward. She then instead of getting us to another table, left us standing in front while she went to another table and said nothing else. She is one of the worst servers I've ever have had the displeasure of dealing with. To whomever the management staff is at the location needs to do a better job of hiring people that won't be utterly dismissive and in hand rude. The time currently is 11:10pm on June 10th. Crystal leaves more to be desired. read more

Not a fan of their food, although it is cheap. The service that I've had each time I've been was very attentive and engaging. They have a deal during lunch time, where if the food isn't brought out within 12 minutes or so, the meal is free, and it's true, because it happened to me. Our check didn't have my entrée listed on there. read more

So sad I loved this place. The past two times a female bartender ripped us off. Check your receipt! Apps are 1/2 off after 10. We ordered @ 10:20. When I told her price was wrong she blamed the computer and "made it even by giving me $5.00 off". That is not even close to what I should have paid. She makes sucky drinks too. Tonight we got a togo order. We discovered at home she gave us the wrong food. After we get our money back they can kiss our weekly visits goodbye. read more

So sad, went in to place a to go order. Asked the bartender if I could place an order to go here? Bartender said "yeah" and stood there & looked at me. (Luckily I knew what I wanted before I even stepped in the building) It would have been nice if the bartender would have offered a menu or I don't know....maybe made a suggestion! But nope, the bartender just stood there like a mannequin. I have yet to dine in at this location but I cant wait until I do. 2 stars based on the food only, otherwise it would have been 1 star. read more

Came in after a 12 hour shift, trying to have a drink or two and something to eat. Unfortunately had to listen to anaka the bartenders boyfriend talk incredibly loud about complete nonsense. I'm imagining throwing my buffalo wings at his head right now. read more

We had a gift card tonight for Applebee's. The host was friendly, the Taylor our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered Chips and Salsa, so so not fresh. My wife ordered the hot chicken sandwich she said was wonderful. l had the NEW Artichoke Spinach with Chicken. The Entree was very tasty and looked great. Except for the 3 slim chicken slices. For a the price you would of at least expected a chicken breast. Over all the visit was good. read more

Staff was friendly. We were seated immediately. Took them a few minutes to come take our drink orders. Ordered drinks and a water, water never came. Ordered appetizers and then also our meals. Some drinks came out within 5 minutes, 2 drinks sat at the bar another 5 minutes. No water, so we asked again. Half of the appetizers came, other half did not. Finally the other 2 appetizers came out, asked for water again as it still did not come out. About 30 seconds to 1 minute after last appetizers arrived, our main courses showed up. Literally, our meals showed up practically at the same time as the appetizers. This tells me the kitchen is in poor running order. Water still did not arrive after asking many times so I went to the bar and go it myself. Cut into the steaks and my 9oz sirloin was medium rare, yet I ordered it medium. Was not asked by anyone how our food was. I ate half of the steak before being unable to finish it. Could of somehow gotten the attention of staff, but with the water failing to show up was afraid I'd never see my plate again. Unfortunately, this was probably our worst visit here. We don't come often, this time will make the time in between visits a little bit more. read more

BEST EMPLOYEES EVER . Rashad, Caleb, Olivia, NICCI, ED, DANNY, the dude with the COOL HAIR. Always attentive and interactive with their guests. I've been coming here practically every day for a year and I've never had a dull moment. Filthy bathrooms, greasy food, and careless service. You'd be better off at a fast food restaurant. What a horrible experience.

Went there last Saturday night at about 8 pm. There were 10 to 12 empty tables, but we were told there was a twenty minute wait to be seated because they were short busboys to clean all the empty tables. We went ahead and waited, and during the 20 minutes watched the hostess, a waiter and a manager stand around staring at each other because no one could be seated at the dirty tables. God forbid anyone else pick up a bus tub and a rag. Finally after the wait, we were seated at a dirty table that the hostess wiped off after we sat down. Then we waited another 15 minutes and no one ever came to the table to wait on us, so we finally gave up and left. That was my third and final bad experience there. I won't be back. read more

Despite the previous bad experience posted here, we were in the area and it was convenient to give them another try.
