Garlic Knot bin
Chris C.

Dalisa Pizza is one of quite a few pizza places in my neighborhood. While it's not necessarily my go-to when I'm looking for pizza, it has its culinary moments. As usual, I went there to check out my benchmark dishes, and fortunately I made notes, as this was quite awhile ago. Tale of the ol' tape: Penne alla Vodka Has enough sauce and does contain prosciutto, an inexplicable rarity in the vodka sauce game. The sauce has a nice creamy tang and although very good, it's cost puts it at the extreme end of the price spectrum, richer than the cream that partially composes it . . . . Garlic Knots Formerly, the garlic knots here were more like garlic rolls, and were soaked in oil. Back then, the oil was definitely a taste distraction and a repeat buy deterrent . . . This was several years ago, and in the interim they must have changed it up a bit. Now they're medium sized, with have a light crunch on the outside . . . but unfortunately a medium-heavy doughy chew on the inside. This is too bad, as they have a good garlic flavor. If they had a lighter texture, it'd be a home run. Would I get them again? Yes, but only to bring them home, cut them in half lengthwise and bake until the doughy aspect was mitigated a bit through drying in the toaster oven.

One of the neighborhood pizza restaurants. Sauce is better than most in the area, and gives less heartburn / reflux. Service has gotten so much better over the years. Usually order take out for the family, food is always great.

Cheese slice pizza with broccoli and spinach

The lady in front was rushy and loud and rude. Didn't care for her customers. Pizza looked old when it was just sitting there. Best to get it when it comes right out of the oven. There is a place to sit so nice seating inside. Prices seem high for a slice and with toppings.

Worst pizza I've had in my life. Too greasy, not enough sauce but wayyy too much cheese. Avoid at all costs.

Placed a delivery order here for the first time... definitely not a pizza that I would eat again for free.

This is our favorite pizzeria, the food is great! I swear, we are here on a bi-weekly basis!…read more Our first visit was for the Eggplant Ala Vodka rolls (ask for extra Vodka sauce for dipping on the side), since then, we got HOOKED! We also tried their individual pizzas (absolutely amazing, go for the ala vodka and eggplant rolatini). They have so many great pizza options honestly. For dessert, we tried their bombolinis, Nutella pizza, and sugar knots, all are so addictive! Staff is friendly and always do a great job, very fast/efficient. They have a few tables inside, so there is an option for dining in if you please.

The grilled chicken caesar slice was huge and was pretty tasty, I'll definitely reorder. I also tried the tricolor grandma pizza. This slice I'd recommend to everyone as it's better than a regular grandma but not too much different or adventurous. I tried a bite of my boyfriend's hot honey pepperoni pizza and we both thought it was a cool twist on your average pepperoni. Lastly, I highly recommend the garlic knots, most places just have tasteless dough with oil on top, but this was actually soft, fluffy bread with the garlic taste throughout the entire garlic knot. I'm very picky about them so I was happy with what I got. Nothing about the exterior of the pizzeria is special and it's in a busy plaza, so I never really noticed it. My random gogole search for a chicken caesar slice nearby was how I encountered this place. Overall I'd say this is worth the trip. My only issue is the pizza is quite pricy, I got 3 slices and 4 garlic knots for a little over $20. You're better off just buying an entire pie and splitting it with a group.

It is easy to be enveloped by the plethora of great…read morerestaurants in the competitive nature that is NYC, but when you venture all the way out here to Babylon, NY, you have to change that mindset a bit. The Brixton is a beautiful restaurant with very relaxed and casual vibes. The word around town is that their drinks are awesome. What about their food, though? They originally would not seat us in the middle of the afternoon because most of the empty tables were reserved. We had to request to sit outside, which was empty, before they decided to serve us. Odd that they did not even offer that to us. The General Tso' Cauliflower was the only great thing served to us. It is incredibly crispy and flavorful. You almost forgot that you were eating a piece of vegetable at times. The Short Rib Brisket Sesame burger was shocking. $18 for two White Castles-sized sliders. It was easily consumed, and I was left much to be desired. This is most definitely an appetizer item, not an entree. The Chicken Waffle was good. Nicely deep-fried and packs a lot of flavor. The waffle looked dubious. If I had to guess, it might not be mad fresh to order. Essentially, it's 3 drumsticks/wings over a possibly frozen Eggo waffle. I would recommend a second dish if you are looking to get full. The Steak frites and Eggs Benedict were the final dishes served. It is hard to mess these dishes up, but the ribeye was nicely seasoned and cut up. The dishes were nicely displayed. Overall, this is just an OK experience. When the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer is the most memorable dish here, it is quite alarming. Portion sizes are on the small end, and none of the flavors for the entrees really stuck out. Perhaps I will come here strictly for the drinks next time.
